Hey, it is great that you guys are fighting bots and such. But could you not use some resources to improve the tp. The UI is horrible. Some love the play the market, and it is horrible if you have lots of pages to go through, with an horrible load rate. Why not instead have everything shown in total. Why can’t you put custom orders, like buy 2000 of something, sell 2000 of something. Is there a reason you can only put 2000 items on the tp and then be met by error code? Have you guys seen the Eve online market place? I’m just saying, shouldn’t the TP UI and functionalities be improved?
I would give my Asura’s right ear to be able to do this with buy orders
Yeah, a better tp in general would also be quite sweet.
Any official response? Is there going to be changes to the tp? Is this ok to do what he described?
Why does someone have 2500 onions….?
Unless I misread that. Didn’t check the reddit link, just going off your post.
Thats exactly what he wrote. I don’t know, maybe he is a power trader.
Someone posted on reddit, but didn’t seem to post here. So here it is:
ORGINIAL: http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/1a55ns/serious_tp_bug_listed_2500_of_a_item/
“Somehow, I was able to list 2500 onions. I don’t know how at first. But seems like adding first 250000 until it gets red, then change to highest buyer, then back to your own listed price and add one 0, the sell button didn’t get greyed out(the text is still red, 2500, but you can press sell). Everything got listed for the full 2500 price. I had enough of onions in my inventory.
I did it a few times (4 times), but dared not to list anymore like that. Don’t want to get into any trouble. Personally, I think it would be much better if the TP was more like EVE online, being able to list as much as you like."

It’s funny that nothing on your list is even in my top 5.
- No filter option to sort armor searches based on type: light, medium, heavy.
- No armor category for back pieces whatsoever.
- Categories that don’t function properly (see: Consumables->Food).
- There’s no way (that I know of) to switch between items you’re buying/selling/sold without completely refreshing the tab every time. (The “Back” function certainly does not work for this.)
- You’re forced to withdraw everything you’ve ordered. There’s no option to only withdraw certain items.
- No preview function. :P
My biggest issue is definitely not having enough categories/filter options though.
Those was the things that popped into my mind or has been rubbing my nerves for some time now. I agree with your top 5 list too.
I liked to play the market in Eve online, I also like to spend some time on the market in gw2. I’d be happy if I didn’t need to go through loads of pages to ie. remove an item. Managing sell orders and buy orders is the most tedious thing. Especially with the pages, if you have more than 200 orders up. And since every order is a maxium of 250, you get quite alot of orders and pages, depending on what you buy and sell. Order seems to stack on the tp, if you sell for a certain prices, but not on your buy or sell order page.
3. Drop down menus for selling buying etc. Overall TP working as a static HTML just like the one you made in highschool, rather then being a complex site with good and userfriendly functionalities.
This is a value judgement.
Most sites that go beyond the basics are bloated needlessly.
You want them to drop your FPS by running html5 in addition to the game, tanking your performance?
I’m not talking about bling bling. There is a big difference between static and dynamic, I would think you would have known considering your comment. Something can still be complex, yet simple. Not like the fps dropped in Eve Online, pardon me comparing. I think the functionalites are flawed. Working on that doesn’t decrease your fps. I’d say there are more stress on the server, by users browsing their buy or sell orders, among several of pages. And some having more than needed.
I do apologize for the topic in advance, but I have reached my boiling point. Coming from Eve Online, I find the Trading post UI and functionalities absurd, pardon my strong word(s).
My beef is mostly:
1. Can’t put a sell order or buy order higher than 250. ie. You have 1500 ores, maximum sell order amount is 250. This makes one have to press several more times, then being able to directly make a sell order of 1500. And shame on you if you try to sell more than 8 times in small time frame, since you will be met by ERROR … Thus making it a chore to put anything up on the tp. For an example, if one would have many items to put on the tp. That one would spend countless of mins, versus only a few moments, if he/she would be able to just simply put everything up in one swift moment. For kittens sake.
2. Buy order and sell order are not stacked. You have many buy orders or sell orders of one item, instead of just ie. mithril ore displayed 1500. Current you have 6 stacks of mithril ore displayed in either buy or sell order page. And there is only a certain amount of items/stack being able to be displayed for one page.
3. Drop down menus for selling buying etc. Overall TP working as a static HTML just like the one you made in highschool, rather then being a complex site with good and userfriendly functionalities.
Sorry to say, I don’t like the design and I think it is flawed, especially comparing to how the market was handled in Eve Online. Perhaps visiting Eve Online would give you the idea of good UI with good if not great functionalities and easy to use, and above all dynamic!
Anyone else had similiar thoughts, clearly something is either bugged or done with the mystic forge, without anything said on the patch notes?
Hard to say what really happend, but there seems to be a less chance to get anything at all from the mystic forge. Magic find doesn’t seem to be working either. There can be big streaks where you get nothing from the forge. At best I’ve been able to get nothing 50 times in a row… I know it is a lot and I mean A LOT worse than before.
It is very discouraging to use the mystic forge at all for the moment. Even trying to get a dusk or dawn or any other legendary weapon component is out of the question. You can’t forge them, all based on luck and chance. And now when even magic find doesn’t seem to help or work with the rates. Personally I’ve been by the mystic forge many times, so I noticed the difference quite quickly.
There wasn’t anything in the patch notes or any official message about it. Personally I don’t like ninja nerfs or configurations without no word.
Maybe I’m wrong? At least from my own data and experience, it seems rather low compared to before the halloween patch.

I’m not sure where to post, so I’ll post it here.
It is great that the assist for keg brawl got fixed, finally you can assist. But there seems to be a bug or I don’t know if it is suppose to work like that. You can pass to people, with the first ability. Its great that you can pass, but it seems like you can pass to the npc, the goal. And you can basically pass from the half of the field to someone. You don’t even need to use the throw ability. It travels really fast and it is very annoying to play at all, to be very honest. Games last less then 2 mins or so, when people just passes to the goal. There is no more any tension on getting the keg. Once someone gets the keg, pass, 1sec, goal, 3 sec in total.
Could there be a confirmation, that everything is working as intended?
I find this really annoying as well. I am having to guess where the enemy mobs and just attack the area.
I would rather it prioritize enemies over other players if there has to be some limitation.
I agree, but then you or other wouldn’t be able to res if you go down, well there would be less chances of getting a ress, since someone might not see you. Seen plenty of times when someone is properly down appear after a large delay, just being there a bit far away. By the time I’ve noticed him/her, it has usually been too late for the res. And there is no luck trying to get someone up when there are loads of mobs around, unless you got a group that are able to res.
Any event with a lot of people and a lot of spawning will result this intended or unintend feature. Good example of this in cursed shore, when “cleansing” temple of grenth. The feature I’m talking about is when you cannot simply see what is infront of you or behind you. And suddenly, player or mob appears in front of you, very close. But from father away, you cannot see anything, until you actually get there.
It is very non-enjoyable, when you suddenly find yourself in the middle of 20 mobs or just can’t target anything, until you are basically in melee range.
I really hope this is improved in the future, since it isn’t any fun not being able to spot players or mobs when there is loads of em around you.
Is it the particle effects or just all the dead bodies on the floor? Is it to improve performance or why is there such feature – intended or unintended – in the game?
