Now when you cast Dark Path you can’t leave death shroud during it’s cast time or it cancels the skill. Well, I guess that was kind of a bug. But funny as a Dev used that tactic in a post not too long ago

The only thing Anet are good at is trolling their necro playerbase, well maybe two things actually.. being clueless about their own game as well.
When I tested it, about a month ago, it definitely gave a rally to the enemies. Can’t say for now, didn’t do any PvP for a while, maybe they ninja fixed it.
But it still give a free sigil stack for sure, not a major issue but still.
And don’t forget that this little kitten keeps you in combat until his corpse stop bleeding.
That’s why I hate subscription free games, devs can just ignore you after release, because you can’t vote with your wallet. And they always do.
Well, after some major disappointments in the past I was like ‘I will never ever play an f2p game again’, but GW2 seemed too good to miss.. eh, got caught by their marketing, shame on me.
Now I quit too, necro is too annoying to play in it’s current state. Tried other classes, most of them are way too easy and not my play style in general.
Next patch we probably get a utility skill to kill ourself which will give us a new tPvP viable ‘downed build’..

Well, I actually quit the game, but now I think it’s time to give my necro another chance.

It’s 3/4 without ‘Greater Marks’ trait and 1/4 with. It’s a bug.
Well, Anet can’t fix stuff without breaking anything else. You can notice, when you select/deselect this trait, the Chillblains icon swaps in that moment. So it’s looks like instead of actually fixing Chillblains, they just decided replacing it with another version of skill when you pick Greater Marks trait and vice versa. And sure they forgot to set properly cast time value for another version..

Well, joking aside, I think the main reason behind this week’s lack of changes is the fact that after recent bug fixes some necros <who mastered DS ofc> started to own so bad. Anet received alot of whiny reports from thieves and mesmers. So they decided to stall bug-fixing process for a while, to let meta-game stabilize and see wtf is going on.

And what DiogoSilva is correct, while the Necro may not have been in the spot light for the first few patches, it had some big ones after that and one during a stress test prior to launch.
You serious? More than 50% of our bugs existing since first BWEs and been reported thousand times, but still ignored. Eh, I won’t start this conversation all over again..

No. None of +% damage traits affect conditions and this is intended.
Vitality does not increase your LF pool.

You can also target a Guardian that is buffed up like the is no tomorrow, Cast Corrupt Boon and then Epidemic and see the lil numbers fly.
Aye, and your Corrupt Boons will be blocked by his Aegis or just fail for no reason like this spell almost always does..

Well, let’s pretend this lane doesn’t exist, I won’t edit the post tho. I added it just to ‘prevent’ some standard answers, but pure 1v1 balance it’s not my point actually..
I’m a necro, so I’ve met the warrior yesterday in WvW. And I can’t say he was a pure glass cannon, cause he was tough enough to kill. Nevertheless he hit me for 14.500 with kill shot, right from the start. http://imageshack.us/a/img713/8043/70332774.jpg
I can’t say for sure if he’s cheater or something, cause I never played warrior and I don’t really know the potential of this skill, if you build for crit damage and have full adrenaline. But I want to underline it was a pure 1v1, he wasn’t overbuffed or something and I wasn’t debuffed neither, moreover I got full exotics and my armor is about 2180. And I never before seen a Kill Shot hit more that 6k or so. So 14.5k seems abit harsh to me.
Nevertheless, somehow I managed to win this fight, well not rly win, but put him in the downed state. What next? I had about 11k hps left, so I came close to stomp him and the funny thing in this moment I realized the he keep hitting me for 1900 with his first spamable ability Throw Rock, you know 1900! every second or less with downed state skill, I can’t even dream that any of my necro skills hit for that amount, but that’s another story. So I was barely able to retreat to safe distance lol, Death Shroud saved me. What next? Sure he rallied using Vengeance (while I was healing), killed some neutral mob (guess he had Sweet Vengeance trait) and just ran away. Pathetic.
So my point here is, 1900 with throw rocks, rly? I’m not sure I’ve had enough time to stomp this guy even with full HPs, lol, attacking from the distance not an option too.
Lol, not sure what exactly I’m complaining about.. OPed Throw Rock/Kill Shot or warrior downed stance in general. I just wanted to share this story, cause I find the whole situation just rediculous.
And please don’t tell me ‘game isn’t ballanced around 1v1’, game just isn’t ballanced.

I just wanted to add one thing. Re-animator trait, really I don’t know what the developers were thinking when they implement it. I’m not even talking about this trait is another ‘we ran out of ideas’ thing, but the problem is – it working against necro, it’s so obvious.
I invested 10 points in Death Magic tree just to get Staff Mastery trait and I got Reanimator as ‘bonus’, oh ty Anet! Now everytime I fight 1v2 or more, after I kill one enemy I summon this little cute 100hp ‘free rally’ minion, which will kill itself anyway in matter of seconds even in downed enemies are too stupid to focus it, oh…
As the answer to the poster below: I consider reanimator trait as broken, so I posted it in this thread.

Well, I’d make a big constructive post if I wasn’t so lazy and english was me native language. Tho in my experience game companies that run f2p or b2p games usually don’t care about balance much after release, so imo we will hardly see any major changes for good. Sorry Anet, nothing personal ofc, just an observation. I still love you…
In short I just can say that class is definitely broken, I can state it as PvPer with more than 12 years of experience. They messed up our traits so bad, plus some initial class design flaws. I have a feeling, that Anet doesn’t know what to do with necro, it’s like an unwanted child now .
Sure you can kill stuff as necro.., sometimes I can win 1v2 or even 3, once I’ve won 1v5 (talking about WvW), but it’s not because class is fine and complete, for sure it’s because the opponents were bad. Anyways it takes x3 more effort to achieve any result with necro, than with other professions.
Atm our only viable build is condition-mancer, (eh, some people keep saying they have great success in sPvP with dagger build, I can just smile at them… guys, try some tournaments versus good players) and the problem is – cleanses. Stacking bleeds is a hard task, while we have no reliable cc, especially in WvW enviroment.. and with a ton of AoE condition removals/transfers flying around in group battles it’s not even funny. My bleeds usually won’t last more than 3-5 sec on the target. Same goes for 1v1 situations, maybe you can kill some clueless/bad players by stacking bleeds, they won’t even notice. But any good player always carry some sort of condition removal tool, even if you manage to survive long enough (talking about lack of cc again) and stack 10+ bleeds on him somehow, he can always wipe all your progress in 1 pressed button or even with passive signet. Not funny Anet, at all.
I’m not even going to mention condition damage > bleeds damage conversion ratio, 5% it’s laughable at best. Upgrade your gear from green to orange and you won’t even get +10 damage to your bleed ticks, huh.
Anet, implement a trait that makes our conditions (ok, at least bleeds..) uncleansable,
that will solve part of class problems. Ah, sure you won’t do that.
So I’ve rolled a mesmer today..
