What does dropping down a tier have to do with zerging? I’m a little confused about all this tier business…
Jump puzzling or botting.
Every day for the past week I’ve gone into each lake in all the borderlands, and there are 30ish people just afk botting farming scales, with 2 people designated to protecting them.
Really sad that arena net doesn’t care about this at all. It’s literally gamebreaking, ruins the economy, and pisses everyone off.
You can tell they are bots because you can literally get a group together and auto attack them to death, they don’t move, they don’t try to escape, they don’t hit you back unless you attack them from the side they are auto attacking into empty space, waiting for the krait to spawn / swim by.
Yeah so I just lost 5 gold worth of runes on the TP, I set them up at a determined price, they sold a half hour later, and I didn’t get payed for them and someone has them for free. Who do I talk to to get payed for this?

Yeah, the biggest gripe with wvw that I have in common with the OP is the anonymity factor. In daoc, the biggest source of enjoyment was being recognized on the forums by my peers, either in acknowledgement of my skills or hatred of them.
There was nothing better than seeing a familiar name that recently flamed you on VN, picking them out of a zerg, killing them, then laugh spamming the corpse. And they saw your name when you did it, so they knew you had their number.
There is no such thing in guild wars atm, there is a “jump through hoops” method you can use to acquire names of opposing realm members, but it’s probably not supposed to work that way.
This matchup proves server pop > skill.
This sounds pretty garbage to be honest, and I don’t believe for one second you can kill a group of 30 people with 3 people in just a few seconds if you are on open ground and they see you coming.
If you tele into them and don’t get CC’ed, then maybe you can kill a couple.
Through a keep door, when there are stacks of melee, been there done that.
If you are backdooring a group, then yeah, any group with any spec worth it’s salt can destroy large numbers with smaller, if they are in teamspeak and the enemy has their back to you.
Staff guardian is fun, and I run it from time to time, but really you are just doing what people did with pbaoe chanters in DAoC, nothing really skillful about it, or fun for that matter. Just go into a zerg and spam 1 key, while hoping not to get knocked down etc.
The same problem with any other mmo.
People roll a class expecting it to perform exactly how it they want it to, without bothering to discover the nuances that come with it. People don’t like being pidgeon-holed into certain specs, and want to be successful regardless of them. It doesn’t work that way.
I struggled with this in the beginning of beta testing, and still did at release. I then stopped looking at what I truly wanted to do, and made my own spec for it. It seems to be catching on as over the past few weeks I see an upswing of guardians rolling with a mace and shield…
The battle suit elite trait is COMPLETELY worthless.
The skills take way too long to activate, and the global cooldown is brutal when combined with the ‘rev up’ animations. When considering these, it seems to last just short of ‘enough’.
Hopefully this will be looked at soon, I really think it’s cool looking and fun, but after the novelty of it wears off (using it twice), it’s such an expensive waste of skill points.
GoM player here.
I represent Natures Fury [NF] on Gates of Madness, and just saying I’m glad we seem to be getting our act together as a server. Not too sure about the whole orb hacking thing, but then again I mostly roam solo or with a small man. However, seems to be good coordination over team chat lately, hopefully this trend stays with us.
Poking in here cause I wanted to say the battle over Sorrow’s Furnace Overlook was epic, I was the annoying Asura Guardian that just wouldn’t die but hits like a truck. There were only about 5 of us in that garrison, dunno what that says for you guys.
Thanks for the badges.
Has mesmers being able to ignore LoS restrictions been brought up and addressed? Able to nuke and summon pets on me through mostly everything. Some necro autoattacks as well.
Server transfer should be once a month. “Friends scattered across the servers” is a BS excuse, if you are a guild or friends then you should preplan it, and it should be remedied by a one time switch easily. I doubt you need to do it once every day unless you decide to leapfrog through the servers alphabetically for no good reason till you hit your friends server.
Make people feel like they belong somewhere, give them a sense of having a home server worth fighting for. No one cares about orbs and castles if they can just switch tomorrow when they are losing.
It’s bad enough I can’t see the names of people I’m fighting, nor them I.
I run 0/x/30/30/x, switching occasionally when the mood strikes, and I won’t play any other build. Toughness that gives you a bit more precision, gear based around that fact, and the best condition removals in the game make you a hard target. Also, you don’t need to spec into power and precision to hit hard. Look to smart usage of your skills, sigils, and runes to achieve this. I have been in multiple scenarios where I was grossly outnumbered (in wvw, I leave spvp to the tryhards and codkiddies), and still was able to achieve, at the very least, personal small victories (most recently, a 6v1 but still able to down one of them before getting downed myself).
I’ve heard that if you apply burning to a target (with added condition damage), and I apply burning to a target (with no added condition damage), it will take the lesser intensity of the two, but combine the duration.
Anyone know this for sure?
