- Map looks beautiful but it felt so empty, bland, booring in some ways. Probably because there wasn’t a meta event to do.
- I was negative about mounts, i thought anet could use their resource on another feature/mastery other than mounts. I still think the same. But since mounts are gonna be a thing in this new expansion, i accepted them as they are. Animations of mount/s are beautiful, it feels like they have some weight while moving arround.
- Unidentify system looks promising, just need some tweaks.
- Hearts are fine, the rewards (treasure keys and materials chests) are okay.

Overall, the general quality of PoF is good enough for me, just the map was kinda booring to roll arround. Bounties didn’t save it, need some meta events for sure.

The people who don’t like HoT, who insist this is true are not the majority they think they are. Changing the game at this point will only annoy people who are enjoying it. You’re not going to make HoT a vacation destination for people who don’t enjoy it, without destroying it for people who do

At the end of the day if 50% of the playerbase doesn’t like HoT (and I don’t think it’s as high as that to be honest), then 50% of the playbase does and you make those changes at your own peril.

If PoF is going to be easier to beat and play, more like the demo we saw, I’m going to end up going back to HoT once I beat that content, because I prefer more complex 3D maps better…and I still have legendary weapons I want to work on.

I don’t believe this vast exodus is going to happen, or rather, it obviously will for a month or two or three, and some of us are going to find ourselves missing HoT.

A lot of people often accuse me of defending the game, but both PoF and HoT are parts of this game, and from a first look, HoT is the one I so far prefer. I’m not so sure that changing HoT to make it better for people who prefer PoF is going to not cause the problem if losing the people who like HoT. I still don’t think people who don’t like it are going to return to it.

And I’m pretty sure Anet isn’t going to throw a ton of money at HoT, because new content is probably going to be more effective than revamping old content

Pretty much this. I liked the complexity and depth of HoT maps and i haven’t really got that vibe from PoF demo so far. I know the fact it was just a demo, they might have been disabled some events and other stuff even, for the sake of not spoiling things. But still the map itself just felt empty, not many things to do in it. Mounts and few bounties won’t change it for me.

I really hope not all the new maps are like this demo one. I would like to see some meta event maps, maybe not like DS but AB/VB/TD kind of maps would be awesome since this three maps are my favorite in all Gw2 by the design and eventwise. There is always something to do thanks to constant event spawn and still there is enough room to explore the map without engaging into events. (except few mastery points, hero points locked behind events but i don’t see anything wrong with that)

Edit: Also the difficulty of HoT is fine as it is now, they nerfed Hero point champs and meta events enough already,

WvW and PvP Ascended Armor Upgrades

Sounds really good, but i have a question. When we upgrade our wvw/pvp ascended gear, will they be ’ legendary ’ gear and have purple name like other legendaries in the game, or will they stay as ascended but have stat change ability ?

At this point we’re not going to be able to change the elite specialization mechanic very much. There are still going to be changes to it with the possibility for expansion of functionality post-launch.

  • Well that line clearly says you realized another AI skill set was a bad idea for Engineer and gyros were designed overall badly.And no one really asked for it, even most people hated turrets and other AI skills in the game.Anyways, still thanks for the update and changes.
  • Function Gyro and Hammer tweaks are nicely done.And Impanct Savant didn’t really make sense with just stun duration since we don’t really proper stun skills.Daze Duration really makes sense as most of us said earlier in the feedback thread.
  • ‘Gyros now start their cooldown upon summon rather than upon gyro death. ’
    ’Gyros are going to be affected by a systemic change that should increase their survivability quite a lot’ < These 2 changes are pretty important, appreciate it.But Sneak Gyro cooldown nerf wasn’t necessary imo.Because it already has a downside, sneak gyro itself stays revealed.And that ‘potential %100 uptime’ thing wouldn’t happen because in both pvp and wvw gyros will get destroyed quickly whenever they seen.
  • As for the other gyros, okay can see the potential of Bulwark and Medic gyro (Tested them in raid also, they weren’t too bad except Bulwark Gyro dies quickly but since they are getting more survivability, it ain’t problem anymore..Atleast hope so ) But lets look at Shredder, Purge and Blast gyros..

Oh god a whirl finisher which can’t even move arround..Ignore the fact that Shredder gyro is an Engineer skill, no other class would use it in any situation if they had it.Not sure how it can be more usefull but its teribad right now.

Blast Gyro has same problem, its not strong enough.If i really need a knockdown skill with some damage, i would use Flamethrower.Since it has both skills with extra more stuff and lower cooldowns.

And lastly, Purge Gyro.Okay condition removal looks good on the paper but in a complex, chaotic sitation (like raid) i wouldn’t want to risk my condition removals with an AI skill.It could be better if Purge Gyro removed condition from 3-5 allies arround it.

  • Sorry for the salty first line but i still can’t get over the fact we are getting another AI skill set after 3 years.Hope they will get tweaked and fixed more after launch.

Beta Weekend Scrapper Feedback Thread

Hello.I was able to test Scrapper in every aspect of the game for a while (except wvw).First of all; i had a theory crafted-tanky raid build with some decent dps output.We went into raid with my guild and it was awesome.Had some synergy with traits, foods and skills.Even at some point i was able to tank 3 guardians like few minutes alone (Vale Guardian’s second phase) while everyone else is dead.Survival was insane.Lets get into some details;

  • Hammer skills are overall fine except #3.Its clunky and misses target sometimes.And auto attack needs more damage and longer might duration.
  • Gyros were bad as everyone expected.I used Medic Gyro in raids to test it, it was not bad especially toolbelt skill works good with Hammer #3 and some blasts.Yeah Healing Turret can do the same job but a water field arround yourself feels amazing.Tested Bulwark Gyro also, it wasn’t too bad but don’t think i will swap my kits with that.Plus gyros can’t keep up with me properly and move to enemies sometimes.
  • Traits; Final Salvo doesn’t really deserve to be a grandmaster trait.And Impact Savant has to be reworked because outgoing stun duration is pretty much useless.Other traits are fine so far.Just Mass Momentum-Juggernaut combo wasn’t that good as i thought.Event after FT auto attack boost, its still mediocre.
  • Superspeed needs some tweaks, we have tons of superspeed yeah its fine but it doesn’t work well right now.Since duration doesn’t stack.
  • Function Gyro; think i had some succesful ressurects with that but in pvp, i couldn’t stomp anyone.It just moves arround the downed enemy mindlessly.

1)Druid – Those healing-supportive skills, decent damage output and dazes.

2)Reaper – Gs is fine, reaper’s shroud is awesome and shouts are aint bad.

3)Chronomancer – Alacrity and Continuum Shift.

4)Daredevil – Okay skill animations are not that cool but they are pretty useful and third endurance bar, endurance regen sources are awesome.And skills hit really hard.

5)Herald – Facets are cool and supportive.

6)Scrapper – Gyros are awful and useless.I can’t believe they decided to add more AI utilities after turrets.But hey Irenio was busy with his other child; druid even he mentioned that in engineer forum.But hammer and some traits are cool can’t say anything about that, hope that he will tweak and remake some gyros to make them useful.We don’t have weapon swap for god sake and i can’t risk my utility slots with those bad gyros.

Hey Irenio ! Thanks for the response and tweaks for Scrapper.

1) Hammer auto-attack boost is great, probably with that tweak it will be viable a-a option as Grenade if not better.Its a great thing for PvE.But in both PvP and WvW its really hard to land a-a in most situation, so we are up to our other skills mostly.Hope you won’t decrease Electro-whirl’s damage too much.Please consider it again.

2) 4.5k healing is fine.But still i can’t see why should i use Medic Gyro instead of Healing Turret.And its not only about healing number.Usage of HT currently like this; use it-overcharge-blast or pick up.It takes like 1-1.5 seconds and even with that low time sometimes healing turret gets destroyed in team fights (pvp, wvw whatever) But atleast we get a good healing which is still higher than Medic Gyro, condi cleanse and regeneration.

Medic Gyro needs some time to be effective and i don’t think it will live enough to complete its job.Okay you can say just use toolbelt skill and blast/leap on it.But there is no blast on Scrapper skill set and if i use my all leap finishers on healing field how am i suppose to daze targets with lightning field ? Or grant superspeed to allies with trait-leap finisher combination ? I am not sure how can you make it viable but this might work; make all gyros invulnerable to damage for 3-5 seconds when you spawn it.So still there will be counter play because enemy can CC them or kill them with condition damage.Atleast they will be usefull for a while untill their invulnerable buff ends and rest is up to player position and enemy.

3) ^ Same thoughts for this one also.It can be invulnerable after we spawn it for 2-3 seconds.I don’t really want to talk about Bulwark Gyro before trying it in game but there is Phantasmal Defender which almost does same thing with Bulwark.And it dies quickly in aoe and cleave attacks.

4) Like others mentioned; i hope it won’t have same problem as Toolkit’s #5 skill.It really fails a lot since the June 23rd patch.And i don’t want to see using Function Gyro on target then because of line of sight it doesn’t work and goes into cooldown.I don’t think that los thing is necessary, it should be removed imo.

Some other things i would like to point:

  • Overall; gyros are underwhelming.I don’t want to go into details because i posted my thoughts about them in another topic already.But they have to be tweaked, i mean a lot.I don’t see the point of gyros at all right now.

Healing Turret does a better job than Medic Gyro.Purge Gyro looks usefull but why would i risk condition clearing with a gyro, HT-Elixir Gun-Elixirs all these cover condi clearing pretty well.Detonate Gyro, if i really need a damage on enemy + kd, i would use Flamethrower which has really low cooldown skills compared to that gyro.Plus enemies can evade Detonate Gyro 2 times because we have to throw a tag first then if it hits, gyro appears.Same things for Shredder Gyro, its evadable easily, if you put it into a group of enemies it will die because of aoe and cleave attacks.Even it doesn’t die, people will run away from it because it can’t move.Just Bulwark and Sneak gyros might be useful but they have their downsides already.

So okay, i am not asking for op-powerful-uncounterable skills on the Scrapper.Just i ask for some viable skills which can be alternative to kits.

  • Traits; overall they are fine but wanna point few things.

Impact Savant; this trait should be like this: ‘’The duration of your outgoing dazes is increased, and the duration of stuns applied to you is decreased.’’ Because it doesn’t really make sense right now with outgoing stun thingy.Hammer #5 is stun okay, what else we have.Static Shield, Supply Drop and AED toolbelt skill.Stuns are all over the place randomly, so daze duration instead of stun would make more sense.

Perfectly Weighted; think this shouldn’t be a grandmaster trait.Okay stabi on evade (even with 5 sec cooldown) and %10 dmg boost for hammer are fine.But think it should to into Major Adept trait.Currently Stabilization Core gonna take spot on Adept trait because protection on healing is pretty meh and aoe superspeed won’t be usefull unless you revamp the superspeed boon.

  • Lets talk about superspeed.Its a strong boon, no one doubts that.But it doesn’t stack and if you use 2 superspeed in a row; second one will replace the first one.Lets say you used a skill which gives 5 seconds of superspeed and if you use a 2 second one after that, you will just have 3 seconds of superspeed.Not sure how this can be fixed but you guys have to do something about it without making it super powerful.

Thats all for now, sorry for the wall of text but i wanted to tell everything that scratches my mind.Hope you guys consider all those points that everyone talks about and tweak some stuff.After all that time i don’t wanna stuck on hammer + kits again, not hating kits but we need something viable that we can use other than kits.

My honest 1st impression on Scrapper

Even if all Gyros were invulnerable for the entirety of their duration, kits would still be better and Healing Turret would still dominate.

Sad truth. I would use Gyros if they were invulnerable and yet kits would still be the ideal choice to have. They need to do some seriously tinkering with Gyros to really make it viable in what little use it has.

Yeah thats what i think exactly.

Medic gyro is way too bad, i mean it could be worst healing skill in the game so far..Toolbelt is fine, but no one will get this skill for that toolbelt.So in general medic gyro has to be tweaked a lot.

Blast Gyro looks fine but its dodge-able easly even you give superspeed to gyro.Either they should boost the damage or knockback/stun duration.Toolbelt is fine.

Bulwark Gyro; think its best gyro/toolbelt so far.But if i didn’t count it wrong, it has like 14k hp so it will melt quickly in any situation.Toolbelt is fine.

Purge Gyro; and again it looks cool like Blast Gyro but whoever see this guy they will kill it immeidatly.(In pvp/wvw) And again it will melt in dungeons/raids/open world quickly in all aoe damage skills.Toolbelt is not that usefull tho.Actually i can say its pretty bad.

Shredder Gyro; this one has to be remade completely imo.It just stands there and spin .. Okay it sounds good ooow you can use a burning field and burn everyone arround wohoo nope no one will get that damage, people will just kill it or run away.Just it can be usefull with some water field but again it doesn’t make it viable.And gyro’s damage is bad too.Toolbelt is fine.

And lastly Sneak Gyro; hope that Gyro won’t pull mobs arround it in pve, otherwise it will be pretty useless.Yeah you can just pop it up, get 4s stealth and destroy it but while you can stealth better with bomb kit and blasts, why would you use that skill.For pvp and wvw its fine, glad there is a counter for stealth even its a bad thing for us.Toolbelt is fine.

So overall i didn’t really like Gyros, they will die quickly and don’t forget its AI so they won’t be doing everything you want to Its like whole the elite specilization is countering itself, okay cool you have a melee weapon which has some good skills (Not talking about damage) but we have AI drones arround us.We have a trait which make us give aoe super speed when we blast or leap a lightning field.Guess what, we don’t have any blast at all in Scrapper skill set ! We have gyros which have limited time (fuel) but they are vulnerable to damage ! Even they were invulnerable to damage, they wouldn’t have a chance in our skill set except few of them.

Hope they will tweak gyros before/after BWE3.(And hammer skills if necessary) And i have faith because check Reaper’s first announcement and now, they buffed it up and tweaked some skills so nicely.Hope they will do the same thing for Scrapper.

Preferred game mode : We try to have a hand in every game mode, but mostly we are focused on Pve and Pvp.And when HoT arrives we are aiming to do all kind of stuff together and complete Raids when everyone is ready.

Server : Desolation.But we accept players from other servers too, so everyone is welcome !

Guild events : We do guild missions every Saturday-9 pm UK time.And some other activities like pvp as guild team, dungeons, silverwastes etc.But they are kinda random, we do whatever feel like at that moment ^.^

-Our number one priority is; stick together as possible and help anyone who needs.

-Guild has almost all upgrades and missions.
-There is no restrictions or something mandatory to join our guild.Just try to represent it as possible and be friendly to eachother ^.^

new tournament achievements are awful

Basically removing the achievement requirement during a tournament is an experimental step we took to reduce the incentive for achievement grinding. We want people to play WvW, and not focus too heavily on satisfying achievement requirements.

If we find that players prefer having numerous things to check off a list, then we would certainly take that feedback into account and consider it for future tournaments.

Dear Jessica, your view is absolutely right. Not only we have a small percentage focused to WvW players, now the PvE scrubs want to ruin our league. Even better if they werent any achievement at all. While WvW players that play for the glory of their server and the hope of winning a wreath, PvE players come, boycott the rest of us, the regulars, and now the scrubs have demands also of doing achievements.

Dear PvE scrubs,
If an achievement list is what you want seek it else where, or limit it to eotm only.
We have players spending hours scouting, escorting, commanding, roaming and fighting so we can win and all the PvE players come, without caring for scores or others’ effort and chaotically run around trying to do the achievements.

Simply —-> NO.

Please no hate, just stay our of EBG and Borderlands, scrubs.

And we are playing same game with this kitten elitist.You can’t tell people what to do , they can do whatever they want.Even you don’t like PvE people you shouldn’t call them * scrub *

They are all good ideas except last 3.But eh i wouldn’t hold my breath.Because most of that ideas have been told like 50 times in this 2 years.But we just got QoL,bugfixes and few other things which already had to be in game.And A.net introduced them like they are really big changes and they named them Feature Pack !

Atleast LS was good for few hours every 2 weeks.Now i have to wait 2 more months to get more LS content.Because i get Feature Pack and WvW Tournament which i don’t care except achivements.

+1 for melee weapons.Especially i would like to see 2hHammer and Glove-ish weapons.

Also Sniper is a good idea.Maybe not as weapon but it would work as kit.

Why Guild Wars needs an expansion

Factions and Nightfall were fantastic add-ons to the original Guild Wars. I don’t see why we can’t get something similar in Guild Wars 2.

It doesn’t necessarily have to be a $60 boxed standalone campaign or even a $30 expansion pack.

People just want new professions, new skills, new weapons, new races, new zones, new bosses, new dungeons, and other substantial, repeatable content. ArenaNet can figure out a way to monetize that in a fair way that minimizes player segregation and doesn’t make the original Tyria content obsolete.

All of that things you listed there (Except raids , new race.They are not that necessary.And i don’t think they will expand level limit also)

New Spvp modes/maps , new weapons , new things to do , more jumping puzzles , more events , new objectives/goals or improvements for WvW , new legendaries , maybe new currency.

And imo , they can work on expansion while LS is still there Like i said in other topic , i don’t think A.net uses their all resources for LS.So why don’t we get an expansion like every 2 years and bi-weekly content like current LS system ?

We are at a halfway point with LS2 and some you believe we will see xpac like content through LS updates… thats cute lol.

Could it be true? I certainly hope so, but judging by the past 2 years… I think we just going to continually see new portions of a map for the story.., maybe some new events and ofc, 1 new world boss at best… that will be it.. anything more than that, I will be utterly shocked and surprised…

LS is not endgame content (not yet at least)… WvW/PvP still holds a massive amount of the player base and most of them could care less about a cheesy story update every 2 weeks unless it finally impacts WvW/PvP…which is won’t lol.

People aren’t rushing to play this game because it has Living story lol..more people are leaving though because anet seems to care more about LS than ANY other aspect of this game… that needs to change.. regardless of xpac or not, LS should not have this much focus and support..there are more important things to do in this game than playing story time for a few hours every 2 weeks…. This is an MMO, not an a single player RPG.

This.And yeah Living Story is fine but its not enough to carry the whole game.

And i don’t understand the * Living Story vs Expansion * mentality.Why can’t we get an expansion like every 2 years while LS is still there ? I don’t think A.net spends their ALL resources to LS.So they can provide more content beside LS ; like new Spvp modes/maps , new dungeons , new goals/objective for WvW , new things to do , new legendaries etc.

New maps (atleast 4 or 5) , dungeons , content for both pve and pvp , new items and currency , improves on WvW , maybe new class.And especially i want more pvp modes like gw1 had.

(Of course i don’t expect these in first patch.But between now and end of the season , i want to see them.)

Well some of you guys here have to realize 200 gem is not just 2.50$ , its 20 gold also.If you don’t want to spend your money on this game ; just play it , get some gold and convert it to gem thats all.

I used this build for 8 orb achivement also and it works pretty fine.Grenade damage is enough alone , so other utilities must be survival ones.
