Same Problem here and none of the tricks worked, yet. Still sitting on my .dat i can’t use…
Tried to repair the file:
It said “verifying archive” and “1 file missing” + ther was a small “DE playable” written
Then the game laoded the mass of Files again…
And after loading 500mb there was not 1% gone
So the file does no stuff any datkittens.
Does anyone know how big the current .dat is?
Mine is 17.5gb: maybe i pulled out the mobile HDD to fast and the file is corrupted ?

Well spend 3 hours on fixing. I have copied my gw2 folder to the ssd and the red locks were gone. However eve without “only read” and authenticated user setting the game loads 260.000 files.
I will load maybe 500mb and see whether i have 1% or not.
If the game needs 25gb I am out and play Battlefield 4 Beta (which works with 5gb).
Heyho,
After i went from the US to Germany I copied my gw2. dat per external drive on my home Pc.
Gw2.dat was on a windows 8 (64bit) laptop and copied to a windows 7 64bit prof.
However, when i click on the copied gw2.exe the loader starts at 0% an loads 260.000 units(the whole game…)
I have tried to change the security setting of the gw2. dat inot “user” (windows prof 7)
When the gw2.exe is started the security setting of the .dat gets sets back to undefined.
When i copied the gw2. exe into a empty folder: a new.dat gets created. After i have replaced it by my 17.5 gb .dat the game still tries to load the whoel stuff…
Does anybody have a clue about this problem?
There must be a way that the gw2.exe recognizes the .dat and loads only the missing patch data instead of the whole game.
Btw. i have a 200kbit load so there is no way to load the whole stuff again.
Maybe the support can help out?

Heyho fellow WVW Warriors/ Hammer-Psychopaths,
I am currently tweaking my Hammer+Shout WVW Build
After seeing a youtube video of Ogremaster Thong about his build i came to the conclusion that I have to get new gear:
Currently I am running full soldier’s armor+ cavalier trinkents+Valkyrie’s Weapons and 50% on stunned foes
However in the vid Thong uses 3 celestial trinkets (2earring+1 ring) to support his shouter build
A Commander I have asked recently gave me the tip to have full soldier’s trinkets+armor and Berserker Weapons
And another Guide says that you need at least 30% crit and rest in soldier’s
SO: what is the best solution for non GvG Hammer WVW Warrior who loves to be part of public zerging?

Melandru seems to be a common choice fo zerging WvW
But do you recommend Melandru over Lyssa in group, solo roaming WvW?
My ult would cleanse every condition every 48secs with sigil recharge trait.
Against condition engieers and necros this could be a huge advantage (see perplexity rune stacking etc.)

What weapon choice would you suggest?
Hammer/Longbow or Hammer with Sword/ Shield or Hammer with Mace/ Shield?
Or even dual Mace?
Are Greatswords or axe useful in wvw (guess not^^)?
What type of Gear: i’ve heard alot about the soldier’s vs knight’s controversy
I want to use my armor for long time, so i need a reliable choice that is not falvour of the month
maybe mix zerker with soldiers? (ill use ruby juwells in all trinkets slots anyway)
Would you use zerker or soldiers or knight stats on weapons?
Would you prefer lyssa or hoelbrak rune?

I’ve looked up many threads about thief builds in this forum and on guru and intothemists
However, none of the builds seems to be up-to-date
So can you give me a proper S/D build or D/p build (using jumper spvp build right now)
I won’t go for condition thief (no money left for new gear and torment runes etc.)
Patch notes say:
“Steel Packed Powder:: Fixed a bug so that the vulnerability condition will be applied when is equipped on the grenade skill and not the Reserve Mines trait.”
So what does this mean?
No vuln stacks on nades?
Is the lyssa rune worth using with a D/P build or a S/D build?
In another Topic i opened, people said, that traveler or scholar is best
however i cant afford this runes
So i choose from wurm, ogre, ruby orbs or lyssa (ruby and wurm are cheap, ogre is cheaper than lyssa)
Did you really miss a condi cleanse in wvw? (lyssa+basilisk venom)

The Idea: get to enemy by Sword and apply bleed then switch to Mace and stun+make vulnerable + Massacre them (bleed+Vuln will give me big dps increase thanks to the Traits)
Anyone got an idea for a low budget Rune fitting this build 8lysssa is really expensive = 20g for 6 runes atm)

here is my Question-Barrage
1: is Warrior fun and valuable in WVW?
2: is the dual Mace spec(see the sPVP guide stickied) valuable in WVW?
3: What rune is perfect for WVW? (i want cheap ones – Lyssa is best but kitten expensive)
4: What type of Armor+Trinkets would you prefer for WVW? (maybe good old Zerker?)
5: I ve got a lvl 17 Mesmer 2 : would you prefer a Mesmer over a Warrior in WVW (would be a cond. shatter Mesmer)

im building up a cond. engi with karma armor+undead runes(prec though cond)
traits: incenadary (10)+ pistol line full (30) and 10 into alchy + 20 in Tools (kit refinement+speedy kits)
Skils: Pistol/shield + elixier gun + toolkit + flametrower or bombs (i kitten like flametrower)
My builds makes my a bit tanky+nice cond spreading
So: should i spend my hard earned money on exotic rampagers or carrion ejwels to round my build up?
this build should be used in WvW and a bit in PVE (farmign karma or fractals)
p.s. I dont wanna spam grenades! (for all full berserker WvW guys)

OR when ft isnt that fine:
would a healer +tank build with pow/vit/thou + apothecracy set (cond heal though)
be a nice way to buff the condition dmg of the EG?
Maybe its even useful to combine Rubicon Karma gear(dwayna runes) with clerics or apothecracy jewelry?
i would replace the ft by bombs then (maybe a bad chocie in wvw because you need to get close..)

my fingers cant handle the grenadier/berserker build anymore
I was just thinking of a Healing+Bombs+EG build with Pow/vit/thou armor(rune of the forge)+ clerics jewelry
OR a FT build with either the same Pow/vit/thou armor(forge rune) + Emerald OR carrion OR Apothecracy jewelry
Luckily i got 250k Karma: would you get a whispers runed armor or balthazars or dwayna for FT+EG build?
and which stats would be fine : prec/thou/Cond or some healing too?

im playing on a Eu Server and im really concerned about what is going on with this Dungeon (i address the english forum, so the developers MIGHT listen )
1. If you really want to get this Set you have to ait 2 Hours on Prime Time to get a Party because the Set Design is so polarizing (allthough i like it very much)
2. When you get a Group its usaully a random Group of the few People who are keen on this Set—> its very difficult to coordinate the People
3. Even IF you manage to get a good Group you get smacked down by the STILL bugged mass waves in Path 1
4. The only solution is running path 3 till you become crazy
BUT: you cant run Path 3 over and over because there is NOBODY who wants to go to SE
If you’re lucky you are able to run Path 3 once a Week
So please ANET just leave the old path 1(with the kitting) for the few randoms so they can be able to get their sets under 1 year…
Leaving the Path 1 as it used to be is the lazziest way for your game designers
SE is NOT a lvl 80 dungeon like ARAH
Its just a lvl 65 dungeon and the Set itself is not a satuts symbol for hardcore dungeon farmers

I’m just planning to respec my Grenade/full exotic berserker Ingi into an new build
I was just thinking about a Bomberman
This guy jsut takes greens and the very expensive fighters runes…(think one can take cheaper runes)
I tested this build in PVP Myst an its pretty tanky and funny
BUT: do you think one should focus und Pow/Vit/Though gear (would take the Sorrow’s Embrace reward +forge runes) and Knights Jewelry (there is no soldiers jewelry in PVE)
OR should i focus on Condition-dmg?
The build should be viable in dungeons and free PVE
Furthermore i need gear that i can mix up for WvW too
Heard that bombengieers are nearly as viable as grenadiers in WVW
