Showing Posts For Kratos.7948:
Online polls are very unreliable as they are very prone to issues such as sampling bias, sample size, and so on. Any results that either side of the issue present should not be taken as accurate.
This is true for any survey conducted using any method. However, they all still show the same general trend.
An example using wine.
There’s also no reason to believe that this poll has been ‘bombarded’ by one side. (By this, I mean the 4chan method of manipulating a poll.)
I can post a survey in the dungeon forum about whether there should or shouldn’t be more difficult dungeons. If most of the people say yes, does this represent the entire player base?
Except, this wasn’t a poll conducted on a “give us an expansion pack” or a pro-expansion forum, or any of that kind of bias which you seem to believe exists. It was a poll conducted on a forum of 98,000 subscribers all of whom play Guild Wars 2 in a different style and have very different opinions.
The best way to collect results would be a poll conducted in-game by ArenaNet. A poll that would be IP limited to one vote to prevent users with multiple accounts voting multiple times.

Actually, there was already a poll regarding Guild Wars 2 expansion pack:
The anti-expansion pack people seem to be a very loud minority.
At least anet shouldn’t use the two week release schedule as a feature or excuse if they can’t actually deliver.
Can you show me where they still advertise that? Afaik, that was for Season 1, which featured mostly temporary content with a few permanent additions. In Season 2, they developed a new system to make the LS episodes permanently available and started adding new zones via LS. I cannot recall seeing any statements that the new paradigm would also feature a perpetual two week release cycle.

Therefore he didn’t want to say how many episodes are going to be left in the season, but did say that starting with the Halloween episode they are back on their two-week cadence up through Wintersday on December 16th before going on holiday break.
ITT: People who never played GW1 comparing GW1 and GW2.
Also, people that are offended by the concept of expansion packs. How about we do a poll instead of generic expansion threads? This way, we will know what direction the community leans towards and it would actually allow lurkers to express their opinions.
Guild Wars 1 is why I bought Guild Wars 2. I thought it would be at least somewhat similar to the original. Was it? Other than it being in Tyria, not really.
The combat was watered down and more visual effects were added. Tactical builds were for the most part wiped out. PvP was slain.
Would I, or many others, have bought this game had I/we known how it would turn out?
Probably not.
Thanks for copy-pasting my thread at the top of reddit
I guess plagiarism means they appreciate your writing?
Actually, I thought it was a good post and felt like it was more likely to be seen an ANet employee here rather than at reddit. Seeing as it wasn’t already posted here…
But, ultimately, without proof that the post is yours: we cannot confirm your claims and the post’s yours just as much as it is mine.

We’re 7 episodes in to this story, and given the pace of carapace armor, we’re going to be done with this Living Story season in 2 weeks. It’s obvious we’re not going to get into the meat of the story this season, and I’m starting to get frustrated.
The storywriting is actually very good, but the pacing is off. It’s time to start getting into some plot progression, and another whole season of teasers without real movement is disappointing. And that’s not even getting into the length of the episodes, which make it very difficult to get properly immersed in the story.
Season 2 is starting to feel frustrating in much the same way that Season 1 was frustrating: there’s obvious mystery but no significant progress being made to understanding the mystery. The story writing still has very serious pacing issues, and while some instances have been absolutely spectacular, the plot development has not matched up.
What’s the answer? Should we just not bother starting a story until the whole season is complete? Our generation is the one that likes to binge-watch shows on Netflix, not the one that has to remember to set the VCR. Serialization isn’t fun it’s just frustrating.
Wait, so your own opinion on topics now constitutes for what the general GW2 community thinks?
Or to give people more time to play Dragon Age
Been playing since Monday morning 10am (South Korean VPN :P). Forgot about GW2 until tonight.
“Oh crap, I forgot? New LS is up!”
Then, I play and finish the episode and it really feels like somebody plopped a giant caca on a plate and handed it to me.
I mentioned how haters are people who want the game to fail. What would you call someone who is willing to give excuses for whatever flaw is pointed in the game, instead of accepting criticism as something ArenaNet could use to improve Guild Wars 2?
Hrm… I think I know this one? Does it involve the word “boy” and the word “fan”?
Is it “boyfan”?
So, what you are saying is that you are a fanboy and don’t care to listen to others’ criticism of GW2?
