Congratulations!
Those are our rewards for Phase 1 and 2.
I’ve try scanning the forums but to no avail
I cannot agree more. It’s kitten our ears.
I gotta say, goldselling spam are less frequent nowadays. Well at the least, that’s the case in Blackgate. Botting is still going on, but I only now see them in obscure places. How’s it going with other servers?

Legendaries are worth getting because there’s nothing else worth doing.Right now, there is absolutely no gear progression. Exotics and you’re done.
What on earth…how is your PW doing that little damage? Almost all the time my PW does 5k damage and my auto attacks are doing around 3k damage. I’m not even a glass build either…
What’s written is not the damage I deal, but if you looked at the screenshots it’s the skill damage factor.
@Kraven u do realize warrior is like the most boring class to pve with right pose no challenge i would like a challenge this is why im rolling a thief.
I’m gonna give you a wall of text as a reply.

But I do agree with you, warrior pose no challenge in pve. It’s a class you can play with your foot.
I love everything about numbers. I enjoy optimizing damage, tinkering traits just to squeeze out every damage possible out of one character. My first character was a thief. The reasoning behind my choice was: in most MMOs, a (primarily) melee class with the lowest defense for armors should wield the highest damage potential.
With that said, I’m looking at my thief in a pve perspective.

I was exploring every option. So I worked on my thief until I had every weapon set, possible. 3 pistols, 2 daggers, a sword, a shortbow, a speargun and a spear. All exotic power, precision and crit damage.
Backstab’s damage was cute, but I found it awful in pve. Killing one mob at a time wasn’t to my liking. Here’s a picture of me pwning a rabbit. http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/cc359/rachel032791/gw2/gw039.jpg
I found the calling with sword and pistol. It was effective until they nerfed it, and nerfed it hard. The nerf didn’t kill the spec, pvp wise. But then again, sword pistol thief in pvp is child’s play, hands down, easiest spec to play. Having a stunbreaker at your disposal anytime you want, you can’t ask for more than that.
What the nerf did to me and what mattered most to me, in my opinion was they did kill the spec in pve.

A sword pistol autoattacks (nonstealth) composed of three hits. Slice, Slash and Crippling Strike. Those 3 attacks add up to a total of 2,628. While the newly nerfed pistol whip has 2,853. This goes without saying that you’re better off spamming black powder and autoattacks in pve.
That was the last straw for me. At first I laughed at other thieves saying you’re better off autoattacking than pistol whipping. Then I got the facts slapped across my face.
So I went into my little cave and cried. Being the avid fan of numbers as I am, I was a lost child in the midst of a forest with pedophilic wolves waiting on every nook and cranny. aNet gave me a glass of betrayal served with 2 servings of incompetence. Or at the least, that’s how it was to me.
And then I made a warrior.
http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/cc359/rachel032791/gw2/gw055.jpg
My warrior’s gears aren’t optimal yet. I have exotic accessories and a greatsword. Rare berserker set with ruby orbs. A few stats off full exotic, but it gets the work done. It was then and there I found the light.

Although I had 25 stacks of precision, notice that I only had 22 stacks of might and my endurance is full. 4.4% additional damage if my endurance isn’t. I dealt as much as 30k while waiting for somebody to start arah story.
I’m a pve guy through and through, and the thing is, I find thieves inferior to warriors in pve Damage wise, there’s no debate, Warriors have the highest damage be it range or melee. Support roles, I’d say thieves are as up to par as warriors. Thieves have good debuffs, and utilities for pve play. Banners and shouts for warriors on the other hand is as good as it gets.
All in all, GW2 classes are not one dimensional. But people have preferences, and we play the game according to those preferences.
On a sidenote, I’m sure you would notice the HP difference, but i couldn’t really give a single crap about it since it doesn’t give me damage.
@OP If you’re gonna do pve. Reroll to warrior.
Sigh. If they’re building arrow carts up there, use the standard counter to arrow carts and destroy them before running the puzzle.
What’s the standard counter to arrow carts? Ballista/catapult out of their range. It’s WvW, if they’re defending something with siege, you need to attack it with siege.
Not sure if you’re understanding this thread. They build them in places you can’t reach or get to and greif you from afar endlessly while you try to complete the puzzle. Couple that with mesmer portals, fears, and other knockback / CC effects, it’s just a bunch of scumbags ruining the fun for others.
It’s not PvP, it’s a pointless massacre of people just wanting to play the game.
It doesn’t take a genius to understand Illiander’s point. It’s wvw, you can easily counter as long as you spend as much effort as the ones camping you. Screwing people is the essence of pvp. It’s either you grow a pair, or stick to pve.
A glass cannon crying on thieves again. Another learn to play issue gone haywire. Anything else new? /thread
Goldsellers, botters, speedhackers are everywhere. If you played the game for a decent amount of time, you’ll realize that it isn’t just a problem that you can ignore. Well at the least I can’t, I’m not sure if aNet thinks the same way I do.
S/P thieves got crusehd 2 updates ago and the backstab meta is finally gone. What’s next?
Thank you for posting these videos. Now ANet and the community can see how broken this class really is…
Broken class is broken!
I don’t care what anyone says; there is NO way ONE player should be able to stop say 60 players from capping an objective like this (aggressively or passively). Try that with ANY other class and they will kitten you hard.
Can’t wait till ANet fixes this mistake of a class !
This post made my day. The level of a typical player who cries on thieves.
…like a bunch of teenage trolls that don’t care if anyone else has fun in PvP. Math has nothing to do with a players fun and enjoyment, unless that player is the one putting out ridiculous numbers. There are ways to nerf Thief burst and compensate for it with survival buffs, but I know the majority of you don’t want that.
Arena Net wants players to have fun. They are scrambling to retain players. Thief nerfs/balancing will be incoming.
This is a Learn-to-play issue gone haywire. 12 year olds getting facerolled. Wake up for a reality check if you’re not fit to play a skill-based game.
I honestly think it’s too expensive. Highest I paid to teleport was 4.52silver and that was from Yak (Frostgorge Sound) to Anchorage (Cursed Shore).
@OP, Reroll to warrior.
aNet is just trying to get rid of the thief class imo.
@enyeez spam autoattacks and blackpowder. You’d deal as much damage as spamming pistol whips.
aNet doesn’t have to give you any explanation on how they wanna burn GW2 to the ground. Ironic as it may sound, we’re playing on a live beta. Devs are trying out different kinds of baits, and we’re the fish. They really have to test their “changes” before they implement it. Knee-jerk updates isn’t gonna provide balance at all.
The best solution I can personally think of so that aNet makes drastic changes is to advertise it. Blog about it, make an honest review, make youtube videos, about the botting that plagues Guild wars 2. As of now, aNet’s ego is inflated as heck, as you can see from their facebook posts and shares, news and such.
at 250% crit dmg, 15% means, 37.5% less dmg if every single hit from PW crits compared to what it was before. S/P is officially off limits to glass cannons. ;P
Um guys, leave the personal attacks against Developers out of here please.
Attacking Izzy isn’t going to amount to anything other than getting yourself banned and the thread locked. Please continue gathering data and offering suggestions to improve the Thief. I’m furious at this change too but making personal attacks against developers is never going to help the situation.
So who should we hold responsible for this stupidity? Right now, it feels like they’re running beta on a live server. I love gw2 to death but when they do something this plain out idiotic, do you just stand there and take it?
They just ruined a whole weapon set. S/P auto attacks hit as much as PW. I hope there comes a time when they actually test it before they implement it.
Seems like a community’s consensus, get a dev that knows what he’s doing.
@Lonewolfie
I can’t find the direct quote but apparently they have warriors where they want it to be.
You might as well reroll to a different class before they ruin the thief class as a whole. Devs are too trigger happy at the meantime. You can shove balance up somebody’s butt, cause you won’t be getting some.
I’d like to suggest an increase in the range that you can target while you’re looking back.
Currently, while you’re pressing the “look back” button, the range is so small where you are able to click somebody behind you.
I think these devs at a-net should return to get their high school diploma or GED at least.
They reduced the damage but didnt fix the bug that made it self root on a mobility class?
A 5 year old would know better.
It’s not a bug, for the slight invincibility frame that you get, I think the self-root is just fair.
One-trick ponies. I love playing against your kind.
No, Isaiah Cartwright plays the game
.. he plays Warriors and Guardians.
Shocking that those are the 2 most desirable classes for dungeons.
I stand corrected. It’s just sad that they’re trying to get rid of thieves.
aNet, doesn’t see the self root and the awful animation time on PW. Of course PW is great with haste, that’s undeniable. But then again, what isn’t?
You’ll know that a dungeon is overtuned when you have to be level 80 to do it. And so far, this statement applies almost to every dungeon in the game.
Can you do “insert dungeon name” story and exp with a group of “insert dungeon level requirement”?
So guild wars 2 is using this twatter thingy? O.o I honestly think that news and updates should be on the Guild Wars 2 website and not on some social media.
Is there anything we can do with gold spammers, and bot farmers? They have been all over the place, it would really be nice if we can get rid of these type of players, one way or another. Of course, I’m under the assumption that reporting someone actually does something.
