Why does the game lag and then it doesn't?

Okay so i’ve had this problem since my first day, but since I was learning the game I never paid much attention to it.

Now that I’m pvping all the time it’s really frustrating, the issue is that sometimes during the week my game begins to lag for no apparent reason whatsoever. Most days it’s fine, i play and enjoy the game, but then there are nights like tonight, where instead of pvping with my guildies like we agreed to i’m forced to write a complain about a game I deeply enjoy.

Can I get an explanation for this? I mean is this normal? Are we forced to endure random moments of sudden lag? (And yes, ive changed my wifi password a dozen times, made sure no one else was using my internet and everything) Even had to stop my wife from using youtube (kitten cooking videos :p) If this is a regular issue shouldn’t it be given more attention?

Anyway I just want some kind of answer for this, thanks.

Sorry man but you’re the joke, I admit I also had trouble with the clones when I first started but I never called this game a joke. After a while I learned how to tell the difference between a clone and a player (what helped me plenty in my first days was that any experienced player from my team would call target on the real one) Really man don’t diss on a game you don’t understand.

You will not be good in this game’s pvp if you don’t put some effort into it.

Can we please keep this a bit longer?

First of all, Anet thanks for your work in all of this, I don’t see why people complain when stronghold is so much fun (even when i solo Q) and the hairstyles/stomp are pretty good too. I was wondering if we could please keep stronghold for more than just a day XD, I will miss it too much!

When zerging mentality will ever changed?

in PvP

Posted by: KyeXema.9370

KyeXema.9370

yes. the mentality of zerging is fine and I am bad. good reasoning, spam 1111 and keep it up.

If you want to call yourself a baddie do it on your own but blame others for it.

Your attitude is the problem, not your skills. There are no rules in practice getting angry about what others do in a format designed to let people play however they want is wrong. You can only HOPE to change others, but you are in complete control of changing yourself.

so you telling me everything is fine in pvp especially hotjoins? thanks for giving me laugh.

edit: you better stop being a spokesman. everyone has their own ideas and right to share instead of bashing those ideas try to respect!

Sorry but i have to agree with everyone else (not bashing your ideas) but you are acting like a spoiled child. You have been given a solution, which may not be perfect (due to sorta long que, not as long as people make it out to be) but it’s viable, if zerging is such an issue for you then you’d take the solution instead of bashing Anet for it.

Last i checked this game was not made for YOU but for everyone, it gives various options and ways to play it. So learn it, or please do yourself a favor and leave. Not being mean but i’m saying it like it is.

Nerf Turret engi already?

in PvP

Posted by: KyeXema.9370

KyeXema.9370

I’m speaking more of experience than anything. Turret engi’s are only a problem when you are playing with pugs who do not communicate. But when you are with people with some brain power, they become complete garbage.

Example- I run to far point and see a turret engi standing there, all i say is this “Turret engi on far point” then bam, their team is outnumbered in any fight we do which ofc leads to our victory as we constantly keep 2 points while they keep one. What if the turret engi is smart then?! (typical nonsense argument) well what he will do is that he will realize what we are doing and rush another point (let’s use mid for example) all i say is this “Turret engi mid” then pam we own the sides.

You guys need to stop complaining about such a weak build as that one. If you are with nonsense pugs tho, then it’s understandable, but definetly not as bad as you guys make it seem.

Please, just remove necro from the game

KyeXema.9370

O.o, really? i have spent alot of time in pvp and tbh, i fear the necro class more than any other.

A condi necro is a pain in the kitten for my engi since hes condi as well, but that does not mean a power necro can’t destroy me either, minion masters are also a pain to deal with.

Idk man, I won’t tell you to get better because i’ve not got a clue on how good you are, but I don’t think necro is not something to be wary of when you pvp.

Entangle, Slickshoes, and Guardian ring

KyeXema.9370

I’ve been using engi for months and me personally don’t use slick shoes. Why? Simple, it’s not as useful as Elixir S. While it does give you a few moments to hit a player, it certainly is not a game deciding factor in a pvp, least not for me, i just take it and dodge away or just block. I prefer elixir S because once you are down, you can bet your kitten you will get stomped, and also for the disengage utility of invisibility, it also saves peeps from getting stomped.

Ps- It’s good because it shows how a well timed stomp can completely turn around a match real quickly, i love it.

Hey everyone here is my rant on GW2. Maybe some dev reads this and will improve the game in the expantion.

Leveling : Leveling in this game is not fun. There is no variety and the xp gain is way to low. Exploration is nice and all but i personally don’t enjoy exploration. I would prefer to have some action instead of a running simulator……leveling through dungeons would be nice or through pvp. Unfortunately first dungeon is at 30 and there is no xp for pvp.
Rest of the leveling expierience is a unrewarding grind and running simulator: Walk to a) intertact with stuff/kill mobs. And there is never enough to complete the “heart” fast enough. You end up running arround looking for quest relevant stuff. EVERY heart is a variation of the same stuff and it gets old really fast.

Events: Events are fine and i’m having fun while doing them with one exeption : Bosses.
The bosses are some other kind of bs. Almost every event boss has unavoidable oneshot mechanics : being chaincocooned and then blown up by the spiderqueen for example. 2 dodges don’t cut it when you’re constantly slowed. I know it is a group event but i remember that someone said this is a skillbased game. Instead of interesting cool mechanics there is oneshot bs.

Poison/Bleed: Completely overpowered imho. Get poisoned by 2 mobs = dead.

Classes/Depth: There is not a single class i completely enjoy. There is always one or two skills that i don’t like using. Skills in general are boring. You just spam skills that come off cooldown. No rotation, no thought, no depth behind it. This feels like League of Legends when it should feel like a complex and deep roleplaying expierience.

World Bosses: Zergfest….nothing more to mention here.

General : Xp gain is godawful or i haven’t found a efficient way to level wich makes everything feel really slow and grindy. Not that xp matters anyway because you get downscaled in areas too low for your level so you never ever feel powerful in this game.
Feeling powerful is fun from time to time you know?
Idk if i will continue playing this game. I feel like maybe i should push through to max level to get the whole picture but i would really have to force myself and THAT is the cardinal sin imho.

I really don’t see the appeal. Sure other MMOs are mostly the same but some of them at least have an interesting story or in depth combat/skill mechanics and dungeons.

No leveling through exp? whew where are the tome’s? man play the game further instead of making a rant 2-3 hours in the game.

So my main source of income since I pvp all the time is using greens in the mystic forge, getting rares, and salvaging them into ectoplasms, which then i sell through the black lion market. But there are times when the game does not give me the option to sell them, i don’t understand why, can someone please tell me x.×.

100% map comp?

KyeXema.9370

KX: it seems like your expectation is if you do the map completion you are almost to a Legendary. I am sorry to say but someone has grossly misinformed you.

I have map completion on 2 characters and have been playing for 2 1/2 years and I am not even close to a Legendary.

It it the Precursor that is going to be your biggest hold up. I still have not got one to drop. Seeing that you only have about 32 gp, if you were looking to buy one it will be about 10 times your current gold holdings.

If you only tend to do PvP then you will have an issue with the required dungeon tokens too.

Then there is the T6 materials required which you will probably be no where near having enough.

In conclusion: Map completion is just a miniscule part of getting a Legendary.

Real eye opener that was, i guess it’s not really worth it since i hate pve, i guess i’ll just have to settle for the skins i have now, thanks tho

Hey guys! i’ve been on this game for like 2 months now and i’m loving the pvp aspect of it, go double kit engis XD. But i was wonder what exaclty do you get out of 100% map comp? i was doing it before because i had heard you could get 2 legendaries out of it and seeing as i only want 1 from the game (the shield) i would be willing to keep doing it. I’m on 40% now and it’s such a pain but, is this true? do you get legendaries off the bat? anything else worth mentioning out of the achievement? thanks for your responses

I agree with Jokke, i also bought the game a month ago and i have loved every single second of it, you get your money’s worth guaranteed.

Like pve? Do map completition and dungeons

Like pvp? Do pvp all day and level and get nice rewards not to mention exotic end gear

Like stories? do story mode

Like challenges? Do jumping puzzles

This game has everything for most people, trust me you made a smart choice sir

You can just delete them right O.o? i have tons of those books and yet i still explore because it’s a choice, and that’s something GW 2 has that I love, it gives you the options to level through your own choices, i have a friend who has not done a drop of pve after he could join pvp, because he hates pve very much, I love pvp as well but i’m still exploring because i find it fun. The point is this is a personal choice :p

New player - How do I make this "fun"?

I bought this game almost a month back now and I’ve barely played it. Couple hours spent on it, thats all. I was looking for an MMORPG because I’ve enjoyed them in the past. Played Runescape for years. Played SWTOR for a month and only stopped because I didn’t have much time on my hands. I enjoyed Runescape a LONG time ago, and SWTOR recently.

Did some research on MMOs, found this, saw great reviews, how its the MMO that breaks the norm of grinding, saw an awesome review by Angry Joe. In particular, he mentioned he couldn’t get into SWTOR despite the awesome concept because of the lack of interesting game play. He struck me as someone who was looking for an MMO experience that actually had a soul to it.

So I spend 35$ on this, start playing, and what do I get? Maybe a few minutes of interesting story and then hours of follow the arrow, kill stuff for WAY longer than should be necessary, level up, move on. Seriously? This is exactly what I was told this game DOESN’T have. Why do I have to spend 15 minutes dancing for cows and killing worms by spamming a key to fill up a bar?

Honestly this is the reason I hate spending money on games these days.

The only reason I’m still trying is because I feel guilty for spending money on this.

So please help me find ways to make this experience more “fun”, since the game refuses to do that for me. I discovered the random events already. Besides that so far I’m just following arrows and doing side quests that involve killing 20 of something. Does this end? When does this end? Is there any other alternative to progressing in the game and hopefully getting somewhere better? What else can I do except be the NPC’s kitten?

HONESTLY despite being a WoW clone I found SWTOR a lot more fun.

I’m also a new player, and i also came here because of Angry Joe, and i also played SWTOR for a month, whew, small world eh? Honestly i don’t understand what you’re saying, this game is such a breather from all other mmo’s ive played in my life (played quite a few) and none has even come close to what this one offers, i mean, Jumping mazes? vistas? random events? i had never seen that before, it was usually “Hello npc, want me to kill 10 bunnies? k” go and do it then comeback, i really apreciate the questing system, completly eliminated backtracking which was always a chore, in my time here i keep hearing how the old leveling system was better, it might just be, but this one is pretty good too….I don’t know mate, if this wasn’t different enough for you i got no idea what is.

PS-SWTOR only offered a cool story line and light sabers, besides that good luck pressing your hotkeys and standing still like a robot…that month was horrible.

I talk about this all the time, so thanks for posting your thoughts on this.

This game is not your typical MMO and that’s the reason I like it. That’s what makes it interesting and special, even unique.

Others say all the stuff done here has been done elsewhere, and that may or may not be true. But no one else has combined the features of this game together to make the product I’m playing. If they had, I might be playing that game and not this one.

It’s not a game for everyone. But I think there are enough of us to keep this game moving forward for a long, long time.

Yeah i just don’t understand all the complaining i’m reading, especially from new players, perhaps it might because i’m too new (level 46 barely) but i have enjoyed every second of it, maybe it’s because i’m with friends, but who knows, some players can never be satisfied.
