And? That’s not helpful.
My last incomplete Hint is under PvP: PvP Returning to Lobby. I have followed the instructions numerous times with numerous characters and never get a hint, nor get the hint completed. Is there some quirk that is not obvious that I am missing?
I completed my first SE last night. I had never done anything but AC (before that awful patch) and Fractals. AC (explore mode) before the patch made me reluctant to even attempt other dungeons. AC after the patch made me think I would never go into an explorable mode dungeon again. I understand there are some methods to deal with some of the extreme difficulty there but seriously, this is NOT the way to start players on dungeons. I am convinced we are losing players because anyone not thoroughly experienced has an unpleasant experience in AC. Or is it that we don’t CARE about keeping players in the game? Elitism?
My comment about SE is because, while it was difficult and we had to retry some things – one spot seems to boot people from the game to desktop who don’t have pretty good hardware and internet connection, and we had to work out a strategy for the golems – it did not leave me swearing a blue streak like AC did. I just listened in vent and we discussed and worked it out. We did see something peculiar though: often the two rangers’ heal springs healed NO ONE but the person who dropped it. We all remarked on it and no one had ever had that experience before.
Most player’s work for a living in a job they don’t care much for, stressed, and look forward to their 3 hours of escape, and casual conversations over Team Speak with people they only know through voice chat. They don’t wish to study the current Meta’s, and turn the game into a second job.
If this is really the attitude of A Net, then they shot themselves by arrogance and ignorance of the average frustrations to the average joe player.
Again our Guild welcomes anyone from A Net to join in our runs and get real feed back from the average player. Not the elite of the game, as our guild will not start discriminating players going into dungeon based upon high or low skill. Gaming is a social behavior, not an exclusion.
THIS!!! The game is supposed to be fun. When it stops being fun because it becomes so hard that only the leetists and/or well-geared level 80s can do the first dungeon in the game, you will lose so many players and get such bad word-of-mouth that the game will die. I have seen about 10% of the newbies in our guild quit because they had to wait so long to be able to run a dungeon – not being able to do anything but story mode since no one but our guild would group them for explorable. Several of them I know were long-time MMO players who had just come to GW2, enjoyed it, then lost interest because of AC, and that was BEFORE the difficulty was put up higher.
Our guild often has newbies join, people who for whatever reason have just started playing GW2. Often one of the first things asked is “When can I go to a dungeon?” Even before the change, I felt it was only fair to tell them that it would be somewhat unlikely they would get into a group at level 35 unless it was a guild group that would not mind teaching them and dealing with their being unable to contribute as much as a higher level toon. Learning curve be kitten you will alienate the newbies.
My language in a guild group of 80s for AC is unprintable. And no way would I go in with ANYONE under 80 and well geared. The lowbies are going to be very very very very unhappy and quit the game and badmouth it, Arena.net. Heck, I will NOT recommend this game to anyone at this point. The 1337ists who want a hard dungeon should have some other place to go, NOT AC.
Sigh. Me too. Husband couldn’t even update his computer
Ahhh, but now my computer is re-downloading something.
Okay, a guildie told me those arrows mean auto-attack, and that I am able to MOVE them to the #1 skill, which is where they should be. So. She is NOT unplayable in that configuration: sword main, axe off-hand. And lo and behold, moving the auto-attack to the #1 skill on THAT weapon configuration (which I had never used before the other day) fixed her altogether!!! I wish I had know the significance of those arrows before, and they do NOT show on the #5 skill Riposte, even if it’s set for it.
Btw, I had a family member play his Norn warrior on my computer to make sure there was no ‘stuck key’ thing going on. He has two similar weapons as one of his weapon setups and while using the same weapons as mine, there was no problem at all. I even had him play with my warrior for a couple minutes and my warrior was bugged for him as well. It’s neither me nor my computer.
Yes, there are two arrows around that skill. And she won’t continue an attack in that weapon configuration EITHER. I had the family member check his warrior and there are NOT those two arrows around the #5 skill, so I guess that’s a sign of the bug. I have no idea why they are there on my warrior. Until a couple days ago I had never tried to use those two weapons in that configuration.
Okay, so, I thought, well, lets try working her with sword in main hand, axe in offhand. Seemed okay at first. Then whooopsie-daisy she starts the “Whirling Axe” skill spontaneously, while I have her running someplace, no combat involved. Every time it’s off cooldown, there she goes AGAIN. So now she IS unplayable. Swell. WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
With my Norn warrior I prefer an axe main hand, sword offhand weapon arrangement. However, if I use the character that way, she keeps jumping into combat stance and putting her sword up to her nose. It happens even while using the bank, far from any combat and I have been careful about what keys I hit – I am NOT inadvertently hitting a combat key. Further, when she is using those weapons in that arrangement and I am in combat, she fails to continue an attack. As far as I am concerned that makes her nearly unplayable. I would REALLY like her back to normal, I enjoy playing her.
Yes, labels on the gates that can be read from farther than arms-length distance would be a distinct improvement, even though I am FAIRLY familiar with them. Also: when I am zoning in, it would really be nice if the little tag during zone-in not only had the zone name but the levels one can expect to find there: Gendarran Fields 25 – 35 for example. I know when I first started, I ran out from Hoelbrak and got yelled at that a particular zone was too dangerous, but still, it would have been nice to see the level range so I had an idea where I would want to go later.
Definitely: this is one of the things another family member complained about (we are all GW1 vets). I don’t care if we have to pay to switch, just please help us remember our builds without use of an outside website.
Instanced Lion’s Arch instead of the Overflow. So very annoying to have to have messages and such interrupted by being told I’ve been put in Overflow or I am now allowed to move to the main LA. Why not just instances as in GW1?
Yes. PLEASE. I’ve accidentally deposited them into the bank vault with other collectibles, panicked about where they were, and was very sad until I saw my bank vault again.
I agree. I fall during a climb, even a small fall in a (relatively) safe spot and out pops the pet. Ugh.
I far prefer the changing dailies. The Dodging one is near impossible except with certain mobs/classes, but I found a way to get it fairly easily. the Combo one was very buggy, took quite a while for a guildie and I to get done but we did. Part of that may have been strangers grabbing the killshot, people who weren’t working with anyone. Not cool.
