Agin.. you fail to grasp the basic principle of what a blob brings with it.. inherited skill lag, how much fun do you have running round spamming 1 all the time.In smaller groups, sure.. you will have people all over the map, but guess what, smaller groups don’t create lag.. smaller groups also mean you have to be more tactical with the deployment of your forces… ie. do i hit hills with everyone or do i leave half behind in case it gets attacked and go with the rest of the group.. tactics = smaller groups that are more mobile and allows more flexibilty to an overall plan insted of just running round a map clockwise capping everything along the way.
Sorry but now you talk not anymore about night capping is the problem with Vizunah it is rather all the lags upcoming which you can’t deal with when VS zerg shows up… different story again… AC’s the solution, btw. even in open field battle atm.
Lag situation is not a T1 problem you face that down to T6 with zergs…
And not to run for No1 in T1 of EU ladder is a good reason to transfer to lower tier…whether they like that idea there is another story
So if you do not want to aim for No1 then discussion becomes obsolete…just hop with your guild to another server and leave the remaining guys with sorting out how to beat VS… again this is still not a reason to blame VS …

Last night in SoR BL we were having an odd issue when deploying ACs. We would place the siege down and start building it and the siege would just up and vanish. No damage was being taken to the siege and no “destroyed siege” animation would play either. It was just up and vanish. This happened to siege placed on walls, the ground and on a supply hut. It was completely random as well when it would disappear as some times it would work.
Has anyone else been experiencing this?
was the tower upgrade finished just in that time? (happened to us when walls upgrade to T2 was becoming 100%)
So, the key problem here is that the thing that people most want is for other people to see their titles. If other people don’t want to see them, at least for gameplay reasons, it’s not really fair to force them to. I agree that it would be better with an option flag but we just didn’t have the time to implement that at the moment. It’s very likely we’ll get one in when we have the time, but for now we felt it was most appropriate to remove them.
Thank you for replying. Any idea on what kind of alternative ways you guys are currently thinking of? Most people want an on/off toggle. But as I see it, titles are bad in zergs cause it clutters up. But people have no problem with titles being displayed in smaller groups.
So maybe having something like your current ‘graphic WvW settings’. Three toggles:
1. Display all titles
2. Display few amount of titles
3. Display no titlesSo basically same principle as your graphic setting. For example the second toggle will display titles only for a few that are close to you. This way it wouldn’t clutter up in zergs, but they would show up in smaller skirmishes.
Hey what about postponing this “issue” to a much later stage and fix rather burning problems like
- stale matchups in both ladders EU and NA… ?
- or a private grouping tool
- different colors for different objectives (like commanders, group leaders, etcpp)
- bugfixes on maps
Current solutions are fine and everyone can get the information if necessary and the clutter which affected more than just a couple of roamers was also fixed with current solution – so please adapt to this atm

Not at all, in peak times weekends/6-9pm Vizu are usually behind Deso or SFR but then you come back in the morning and Vizu have almost every tower/keep it’s a EU server so why do you have nightcappers which outnumber SFR and Deso night time players combined…
Vizu also create lag in almost every battle they enter these days its just pathetic.
Well let me be more precise then… why do opponents not have recruited enough nightshifts to defend/attack Vizunah better?
We have to be up for work, family etc.. and no.. that is not meaning VS players don’t have these concerns… But more importantly, Deso plays to have fun, no one wants to stay on at night. Personally i have been doing 6pm-3-5am shifts for the last few months, and it just takes it out of people.. This leaves the only option left which is try and bring NA guilds onto the server to have some presence at night, and everytime that has happened we get the usual VS moaning about it. Now with the current state of T1 no guild.. NOT A SINGLE ONE ANYWHERE, will come to T1. VS is a product of it’s own success. By being so unwilling to compromise, so unwilling to even listen to the other 26 servers in this region, you have turned yourselves into server that is undoubtedly the best at winning, but what has it got you.. a tier that no one wants to even play in, and although I would never accuse you of destroying this game singlehandedly, you certainly have not helped it in any way, shape, or form.
As I heard IRON left partionally to NA server… maybe convince some guild overthere the necessity of having a nightshift on EU server…. know exactly what you are talking about, but hey, every server, every guild even every single player can do what they want – I would never blame Vizunah for their “style” to win a matchup…
What compromises did you expect on a battlefield? Just wondering… smaller groups? even worse! then you flood various points instead of having a big clusterzerg on one point of the map… so honestly what kind of compromise do you expect from an enemy server…. not to run nightshifts just because you want to go to bed at reasonable time? Again: if opponent servers in T1 would organise nightcapping troups from NA Vizunah had nothing to laugh … but now you gave up… lets see how maybe Elona will deal with that in in the future without facing a big amount of players with burnout…
There is only one way you can beat them, beat them with their own weapons and adapt to their way to win or die…. feel sorry for that situation in T1 but VS cant be blamed really for this.
@ Blackwyn: I hate this classification to be mindless when following a zerg. Please stop that – also braindead is not nice really… I could also turn it around and ask why roamers don’t get it in their head that there might be a well organized zerg with 50+ players of which all know what the objective is and what skills to cast at what moment in time to achieve sth…. really…
so if there is a 1vs1 upcoming just click on the player and you see his title (whether that title might be understatement or not by that player that will remain always to you as a good guess)
the queue priority is for switching between the maps compared to the ones which want to get into W3 at all … as I understood.
I don’t know your server but to move a 50 player zerg can already be a challenge… mustn’t be – that is true
But coming back to the core question, what kind of problems a zerg is causing really (beside the known & discussed lags which all players face in big zergs)
I thought everyone is free to join a zerg or not… so why should zerging become obsolete in this content at all?
And sorry, I even don’t get my head around the argument that a tool for building smaller groups (6-25 players) is necessary for organizing this really…You can build groups of any size you want using TS and let severeal teams of 5 players play together… it is possible, not optimum I know but it works… btw is this still not an argument against bigger zergs running with a commander. It is just sth which we all want to happen aside these monsterzergs imo.
(I also would prefer to have a kind of private grouping tool embedded or at least the current player limit for a group to be increased substantially)

We are in the process of doing a couple of things that should make the matchups less stale and inject variety into the server colors regardless.
New maps??? crosses fingers
I think it’s a random matchup colors, instead of currently due to 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
Would also be fine – whatever they do – random matchups or weekly 1,23 movements would be an improvement to get away from stale brackets imo

I really don’t see a problem for now – especially whit the latest AC model called “zerg killer” – and a zerg of 50 players hopping to another BL might be already a problem due to the fact that they have to wait most likely…
so I still can’t see the problem of zergs on a map… tell us more details about the probs which a zerg creates iyo, please
Buffing some NPCs is not the right way to discourage zerging. There are enough NPCs in wvw as it is without adding more. They need a way to split up the huge groups by having multiple objectives that need to be held at the same time.
This I believe rather forces people to start playing in bigger coordinated zergs than getting rid of zergs…
You assumed just that there might be only 1 big zerg humbling around… well I will be then 2 zergs

There’s generally custom dueling games setup in sPvP now. This is where the fight clubs should go IMO. I’m not against fight clubs, but just seems to be the easier way to set them up or find them and duel/spectate.
Can’t really do Guild v Guild stuff afaik. If you wanna do 20v20 or something…that’s too many players.
Plus, the setup is all wrong. You can’t do real open field combat in a small arena.
ANet really needs to add a guild-v-guild “game type” of some kind. I never played GW1, but I’ve heard that the guild battles were kinda amazing there. It’s a real shame that that whole idea got dropped during the GW2 design.
U guys looking for open field duels should rather have a complete separate map called “The bloody mill”
if you want to compete against Viz then you need to fill up the oppenent servers with W3 players… if you can not cope with this you could only ask to set the points so that you play in future in lower brackets… BUT: this means just, that Elona, Jade or maybe Kodash will become new opponent of Vizunah…and there it starts again.
Maybe we should start living with the fact that there will be a No 1 for a long time and this remains most likely Vizunah and other oppenents can either try to fight against them or immediately give up…
Funny is that you collect points even if you don’t want to and rather want to drop a tier… :P
So I can’t see really a solution – except you would change the ladder system to a weekly rotation ignoring the accumulated points and just taking into account the weekly achievements…. THIS would fresh up the rotations in all tiers and at least Vizunah has every week different opponents (the winner of T2)…
But there is a chance that then in T2 all servers start to try loosing points that much so that they do not get No1 of T2

well it happens that zergs are built on a battlefield where 3 worlds are fighting each other… can’t see anything wrong when a zerg is organized… if players prefer to act in smaller groups it is up to them to organize that…. feel free and do so.
And if players roam for 1vs1 within W3 battles this is also compliant and can be organized…. so I do not get the point where a zerg should be a general evil thingy…
I believe that everyone should try to play that way it fits the best… but why should a concept like it was setup be limited just to meet some players opinions how W3 should look like?
Like it is set up currently all players are able to organize the gameplay within that content as they like – so why do you want to decrease that flexibilities and “fix” zergs to get rid of them, if others prefer actually to organize zergs rather than roaming in smaller groups? Imo that would be unfair to those, no?
As Ahmrill mentions in his latest post it is maybe time to get a kind of private grouping tool or the ability to group more than 5 players together…

I would even prefer having a group defined by more than 5 players… why should it be fixed/capped to 5 actually? Can’t that be flexible – so that guilds can run in a sep group all together not using a commander?
A question aside adressed to Viz gamers… Are you organizing main TS in French or English? Also Baruch gamers: Spanish or English?
I just thought what it would look like to have more than 1 French server… ok now it is way too late as probably the majority of French players are settled there and got their collegues and relations there established…
Thought about what it would look like to get weakest server redefined to a French server or add just 2 new ones to the ladder for French players….
And the rotation should be not on accumulated points ever achieved – it should rather reflect the weeks efforts imo… so No 1 in lower tier goes up a tier – No 2 remains and No 3 goes down to next lower bracket… that would mix up the brackets faster and make it more interesting … not only for T1 also for other brackets as they start facing same problem of having all time the same opponents for weeks already…

I agree with you but now map will be getting too small. Scale up the map of about 33%. :P
Don’t forget to increase range on all weapons by 33% and make all structures 33% higher as well.
Also buff all armor and damage reduction by 80% as well as all player damage to compensate for that and healing and vitality as well of course.
Now the game is balanced again and no need to nerf Arrowcarts.
Just buff everything else in the game as well.Arrow carts are under-powered. Imagine a real-life situation: when you’re hit by three arrows, two in the chest, one in the knee, you’ll have little chance to survive.
Now, you got a whole arrow-shower, and you’re still alive. So I recommend to empower those ant-toys. And, if were are already here, I also hate when someone heals up magically in just a second’s time.

I LOVE the new arrow cart mechanism! We, 15, were attacking a garrison, three enemies sneaked in (being invulnerable and like that) and they make the whole team flee! With just three arrow carts. The sad part is I was in the team who fled…
But no problem really. I really like capturing all the points under the veil of the night and just sitting in my fortress during the day, watching how the fools try to take in the unconquerable while I just use 1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1.
It’s much more convenient than ever before! Thank you for this great improvement.
I don’t want to be obtrusive at all, but could you please give a surprise golem after the capture? Sometimes I got bored with the ACs, and I want to look around outside, too. Not a problem if it’s a lil’bit stronger than usual, you know, there are fearsome things called zergs there.
