Since anet never gave mesmers an innate way to move faster, guess I wont be playing until this is fixed. I refuse to move slower than a dolyak. Hell, maybe I’ll even quit GW2 earlier than I had planned. Seems like the infrastructure keeps getting worse and worse, while all they care about is adding more shininess to lure new players in and blind the veterans.
it’s busted…tried all 4 healing skills on mesmer…nothing
I’m not getting a black screen, but I am getting the lag. So, it’s more of a screen freeze for about 3s. It doesn’t happen if I manage to stay on the surface of the water, but as soon as my avatar’s head dips below, LAG.
I would say 3 of the days, I just came on to do daily. The other 4, I did do some mindless G-training on EBG (usually I am defending home BL), but I wasn’t on for as long as usual. I watched some extra netflix and played Skyrim the rest of the time.
I am a 99% WvWer myself. Let me start out by saying, I am getting burnt out with the same old thing. I want some change, but stupid events like the golem rush are NOT what I am talking about. And I also don’t want EotM 2, which I’m scared it is going to be (after watching some streams from the test weekend).
The only reason I am still playing at this point is because I am going for gold rank (actually just got there a few days ago). And I still get some enjoyment out of skirmishing (I’m a solo/havok roamer who defends the home bl). And ofc, I have some good friends.
Basically, in my mind, the goods and bads balance. SO, I looked at what else would affect me in the expansion. As far as I can tell, just elite specs. Looking over the info we have, I decided that I didn’t want to mess with that, BUT it seems like you would be at a disadvantage vs. enemy players who are elite. So, it’s either get the xpac or quit. At this point, I reevaluated the previous goods and bads, with the elite specs added, and decided, I don’t want to learn new stuff (map and specs, etc)…and have to pay $50 for it. That combined with my boredom has made me decide to not buy the xpac and quit sometimes before release.
I have lots of solo games that have been piling up that need playing, anyway.
Currently a bunch of people from my server are spelling “GG Anet” with golems in garrison. Yea, lot’s of fun!
SO, is there at least a ballpark yet?
they only allow resets when major things happen, like wvw tourneys, or big changes (so HoT release will probably be the next one)
wvw isn’t about activating things and doing stuff….hello, that’s called pve and dungeons. instead of fixing the current wvw, anet seems fine with throwing bells and whistles at it. what else is new. people like shiny new stuff. it distracts from the crap that is the back drop.
and yes, after seeing some streams of the stress test, it looks like an even more pve version of eotm. why dont they add random pve crap into spvp…oh that’s right, cause it’s not pve
I see 30% for the matchup that was chosen (two times in a row). So yea, it’s quite possible, but I think they need to lower the extra rank die. It’s not like a d20 roll in D&D where…uh oh, I missed this round of combat. This is an entire week of crap that these hidden rolls determine. Of course, the glicko system doesn’t work in this situation anyway, but anet never got that through their heads.
That’s actually part of my thoughts Evans. Let’s throw the title out cause it is kinda hokey and not even close to as fancy as some of the other titles out there (btw, when are wvw title requirements gonna be lowered as was promised over a year ago?). Why are people even prepurchasing? Just to get into a handful of beta weekends? To this day, “free beta” is the best strategy ever conceived in the video game industry. "Hey, let’s get people to play test our game in the guise of a “free beta”, which will save us money AND people will actually pay for the ‘privilege.’" Genius!

Evans, I’ve actually seen someone in game wearing it, but with so many random titles in the game, I had no idea where they got it. It should’ve been “HoT prepurchaser”.
…how many beta weekends are there, and when is the release? I would think that if you are offering a pre-purchase on something, that a release date would at least be ballparked. And what is this amazing title that I get for shelling out $50-$100 months (or more) ahead of time. And how many free (for anet) game testing weekends will there be between now and….whenever?

They should have figured it out after last season. Swiss tourneys only work when you start out with a level playing field. And tourneys in general dont work with 1 vs 1 vs 1. They should focus efforts on making the normal weekly matchups more balanced, like make the Outnumbered buff an actual buff, and make it pop at a lower enemy presence, not 3×. Also make fortificatons harder to take. Still havent seen any extra rewards for defense which has been promised forever. No we get buffs to already OP golems instead because stacked servers taking a t3 keep in under a minute isnt fast enough.

There wouldn’t be QQ if anet would stop screwing over wvw players all of the time. And in this case, it’s not just wvw…we get several pveers daily (and I’m sure all servers do) coming into the home bl and asking about the rewards.
Also, anyone find it amusing that the bug that prevented some players from buying gems with paypal (anet making money) was fixed in a blink?
Im pretty sure you have to wait until the week after you xfer is over. So if you xferred on Mon the 12th…you still cant wvw until Fri.
Swiss not only doesn’t work with a small pool of teams, but it also doesn’t work very well with 3-way matchups.
Eotm is also not wvw. Its spvp in wvw clothing.
Yes, minor. When was the last WvW update? Half a year ago, when we lost the lake and gained some sPvP ruin-capping nonsense. Obviously it’s minor or anet would update it more frequently to keep people playing, so they buy gems with cash…you know, the only way anet makes money off GW2.
I am hoping for wxp, but if it is, why didnt we get it before season 2…or are they gonna have an 11th hour patch before tomorrow. Btw, why would wvw, which is a minor part of the overall game, be used as leverage against ESO? If anything, the entire 4-15 patch shouldve been released already to battle ESO.
all the siege weapon lines are still 75, and the guards 115 as Zoid mentioned…so looks ok.

We just got CD’s biggest wvw guild, so as far as free NA transfers, this is the place to be.
the xfer sale prices were set last friday…but the mid-season prices will be set based on March 28 rankings, which implies that the leagues have not been set and will be based on the last minute rankings

what about turning off weather. snow wrecks havoc on my machine. i have never played a modern game (solo or multi) that doesn’t allow for this. another poor oversight.
Repairing costs next to nothing anyway…that is a poor incentive.

This is the 500lb gorilla in the room and is where this system will fail the most. Condolences to the folks at Kaineng, you deserve better than what ANet is doing to you.
TY for the condolences, but tbh, the reason we are in the situation we are in is because all of the guilds that helped bring us out of the dungeon have been jumping ship when they realized we couldn’t get past T2.
The first few weeks of the new system had us in pretty good matchups, but since we have been hemorrhaging wvw guilds for a few months, we haven’t been able to get a win. Then going up against 4 and 6 right after losing the last xfer guild to 4 killed a lot of morale. Now it is pretty much just the hardcore wvwers that keep us afloat. We have finally dropped to 12th place after being teased for weeks, but as you said, it’ll be weeks again before we can stabilize where we belong at this point (somewhere in T5 or 6) with the big point difference between us and BP.
Thank you Moment for explaining what RE is. That was what I meant by my “RE is not wvw focused” post. Not sure why Ninya doesnt even know his own guild.
As far as sigs, I dont use them. If you want to know who I am…I was in SE on DH…xferred to KN with the guild…broke off with Kiri to form DE…then merged with RE (was even a jr officer for a short time) until I got tired of the bickering between the wvwers and the pvxers, so I left. I am now in my own one man guild to avoid more drama and plan on staying with KN until I stop playing.
Except RE was A) not WvW-focused (maybe they are now) and B ) not the last WvW server on DH. Nor were they on KN.
I doubt RE is spying. Most people don’t know about or don’t remember the merger of DE into RE not long after the 2 guilds came to Kaining. A lot of us DEs were not happy about the merger (it was kinda forced on is) because at the time (don’t know what the situation is now) RE was PvX with only a portion of their guild devoted to WvW. Over time some intraguild skirmishes came up over this. Several DEs stopped repping (only staying in RE for the new guild missions (and rewards)). I personally don’t roll that way, and I left outright. As time continued to go on, some of those DEs eventually left RE (some even xferring to other servers and joining some of the exodus guilds), some stopped playing, and some are still in RE and are either loyal to KN as stated in a post above or don’t wanna spend 50+ g to xfer (that’s the reason I didn’t xfer with some of my closer friends), or any number of other reasons (but I doubt spying very much; RE was never like that even if I didn’t really care for the guild at the time I left, otherwise). Everyone has their own reasons for doing what they do.
Keeps are 25 points. On a side note, your home BL is worth more than your section of EB + SMC. Many people dont seem to realize this.

SO since I have now done 12 chieves…do i get an extra half wing?
Comm would be great…but the bottom line is that many people have now done 10-11 achievements and still do not have wings.
This is an MMO…in the end, it is all about gear (or in GW2’s case…skins). Most people don’t care about the event itself…they just want the goodies, so they can go back to the parts of the base game they enjoy.
The better question is why is it so hard to alter a file and make them count?
OR why is it so hard to change a 10 to an 8?

They apologized for this in another thread…but I for one am tired of apologies. I want results, not sympathy every other week when something gets borked.
The big deal is that when something is promised (be it from a friend, business, neighbor, etc), you need to come through on that promise. Yea people make mistakes, but when promise after promise is broken, it gets old and tiring. In the case of a business trying to make money, they can easily lose customers…yes even over something as small as this.
Why does it have to be a conspiracy? How about they screwed the pooch again and it’s getting old. There were only 2 things in the several MB hot fix yesterday and this was one of them. How did it get screwed up?
the wings can be bought outright for < 15g atm. By the time taffy drops to 1c (if it does), the wings will be < 10g probably.
