ANet already said that they won’t be adding Hexes to the game due to the balancing problems they brought as Hexes were too varied in what they could do.
Your sources? I can not find any Dev saying they do not want back hexes.

For who say “Go to skyrim noob” remember that solo dungeons is always optional, so you can always choose.

Agreed 100%. I really LOVE the Hero/Merc system of Gw1. I played with my 2 friend all the game. Sadly I never saw a post from any Dev that speak about the possibility of adding a Hero/Merc system, so unfortunately this never gonna happen I think.

Two guild friends and I we are planing to do all dungeons (story and explo) with only a 3 man team. My question is simple, what dungeons path require 5 man to complete (like CoF path 1). I’m not asking if some path with only 3 man its very very difficult (we like the challenge), only I want to know what path require more than a 3 man party.

As for dungeons, it’s true instances are instances, but Anet has never focused on dungeons per se…and they still don’t. There are 8 dungeons and 1500 dynamic events over 26 zones. I’m pretty sure Anet is more focused on the open world than dugeons, one of the reasons I like this game.
Lolololol. It’s kinfa funny this, because ALL open world in Gw2 are COMPLETLY DEAD. Some don’t realize that the majority of people, a vast majority, like to play in PVE in instanced zones, and this is the reason why Gw2 fail, because Anet invested a lot of time in a open world that anybody plays and anybody want play.
Even WoW know this, all endgame are based in instanced Raids. The open world in all MMO’s are dead. Even in Gw2 the “end game” (Orr) zones are death. Hey, I vanquished all maps of Gw1 with my 2 friends and heroes and that was epic, in Gw2 it’s impossible to go with my 2 friends because the open world is a joke.
I’m with the OP, Gw2 want to be something between Gw1 and the rest of MMOClons, and for me this is a big mistake.

Sadly Anet never responds in the suggestion forum, but I would be fantastic if only respond if a heroes/henchmen/mercenary system is possible in the future, only with a “Yes” or “No”, only.
I like the idea, and if Anet put a mercenary system (to play with your alts) like in GW1, definitly I will buy it.

Well, you say this is a perfect build system, I don’t think so. I know that a lot of people don’t agree, but this system dosen’t work because the skill system. It’s stupid that you have to play with a skills that you don’t want. This game need more skills (no as many like Gw1 but a lot more), but more important, this game need a free system skills.
In Gw1 you have the sensation to be unique, not because you build was very good, its was only because you have the freedom to use A LOT of skills. In Gw2, all people look exactly the same, maybe with a diferent builds, but visualy exactly the same.
You can change many times the traits, the gear system etc, but you are ALWAYS obligated to use the same skills, and spam during 80 levels to infinite the same skills it’s not very fun.

The necro of Gw2 in compare with Gw1 Necro it’s pathetic, but I think that it’s not even the worst class….
Yeah I love heroes system of Gw1. Maybe like in Gw1 in the future Anet could bring them back (it’s difficult because you have to think about how heroes can dodge, how the IA works in dungeons etc).
To people who ALWAYS say: “go back to skyrim noob”, “I hate heroes they kill cooperation”, “this is a mmrpg” etc. Some people don’t understand that in Gw1 many people played (like me) with Heroes not because it was difficult to find other people, I played with heroes because it was very fun.

DoA and UW means Domain of Anguish and Underworld, two elite zones of Gw1.
The alternate name for DoA was Dead on Arrival, since people tended to die there until they leaned what to do. :-) I remember being REALLY startled by that huge tentacle thing erupting out of the ground. My guild mates neglected to warn me about that thing and I was standing right beside it.
I remember when I played first time The Foundry of Failed Creations…… I expirienced the “domain of anguish” in my own skin
(I’ve grouped quite a bit with people lately in GW since returning to it. People use heroes because they prefer to play alone—that’s me, most of the time—or to fill in the gaps in a group. As for making a group, they’re posting on guru and setting it up.)
Some people don’t understand that many people who play mmorpg (like me) they like to play alone and with a group. I played during 7 years Gw1 with 2 friends, and at the begining we fill de gaps with henchmen, later with heroes and finally with mercenarys.
Now we are forced to play with 2 other people who of course can be fantastic, but we like to play at our own. It’s our game I we like to play like we want it.
For who says: “NO! Heroes kills cooperation! Go back to skyrim noob!” etc etc yeah let’s see this cooperation:
1.- /map “LFG …… path …..”
2.- Do the dungeon rush mode (of course don’t stop to see anythin and skip videos etc)
3.- Finish, /group “Bye”
Nice cooperation…. c’mon don’t force to play in a way that you don’t like it. If in gw1 a majority uses heroes is maybe not because it was difficult to find a group, it’s maybe because it’s was very fun.
Of course now heroes it’s very complicated, but I like to see them in the future, like Gw1.

No, why would it ever come back? Open world pretty much and there just is no point, it would completely ruin the dynamic events, etc.

I know it is probably never coming, but I loved the heroes and in particular the MERCENARY heroes (ie- my own alts). Especially in my personal story (which is essentially single player), I wish I could roll with the alts of my choice, instead of the supporting NPCs that we get a lot of the time.
But again… wishful thinking.
OMG do dungeons with my alts…… yeeeeeesssss! I loved do DoA in Gw1 and UW with my alts!
I love Heros in GW1, and I hope someday Anet put the Heroes back in Gw2, I love the huge content they bring; customization, builds etc. Probably no at this moment, but like in Gw1 in some expansion in possible that Anet will put heroes.

This is not a argument for all people. Why you have to force people to play in a big guild? Many people likes to play in a Mmorpg in a single player style, if you want to play with a lot of different people: join a big guild. If you like to play alone but in a open world like Gw2 bring a system with Heroes. Everybody happy.

I miss heroes and mercenaries of Gw1, a lot. Some people don’t understand that they are many people who like to play at their own, and they say: “No! Heroes destroy cooperation” (c’mon man 90% are PUGS that they only bring this:
1- /map “Lfg….”
2- Do all rush mode, and don’t stop to see anythin of couse.
3- Finish, /group “Bye” Skip.)
Some other less educated they say :“No! This is a MMORPG go back to Skyrim noob ….” etc, etc.
Some people like to play with many players and if you have a good guild you can do it, but if you only play sometimes the heroes help a lot and they bring a lot of content (customization, builds etc). The heroes are not necessary, but they help a lot of people to play.

I can’t figure out if I miss a lot of skills. People would come up with a few templates anyway and then everybody would use those same skills. Kind of seems like what’s the point of the others if they aren’t used at all.
This is not entirely true. The people use the “elite” builds (the strong metagame) in the final stage of the game, during 7 years of Gw1 I saw A LOT of different builds (either for PvE and PvP) . Now, in Gw2 we have the same builds and skills over and over and in fact all people use a similar builds.
1.- More (a lot) more skills.
2.- Heroes (I love the huge conten that they bring: customization, builds etc).
3.- GvG (please!!)
4.- UW and FoW

I miss a LOT of things of Gw1. The most important:
1.- I always play with 2 friends of mine. If we want to do dungeons WHY we have to need ALWAYS a 2 more unknown people? I miss Heroes (and the huge content that they bring: customization, builds etc).
2.- The PvP in Gw1 I don’t know why but was extremly fun. Here sPvP is very repetitive and WvW is a good idea but now its only a zergfest.
3.- Builds. I played Gw1 since the day 1 and spent it tons of hours doing my builds (thinking synergies with my 2 other friends builds), in Gw2 I have the sensation that all builds are the same.
Gw2 have a better combat system, better graphics, better cities, but he forget the most important, her name is Guild Wars and seems that he forget a lot the old players.
Ohh I like the idea. I loved the heroes in Gw1, because they bring a huge content (all their customization possibilities etc). Of course some people will say: “NO! They destroy cooperation! Go to Skyrim noob!….” Let’s see this “cooperation”:
1.- Go to a waypoint near the dungeon
2.-/map "Lfg…. path…..
3.-Do the dungeon rush mode (of course skip videos and don’t stop to see anything)
4.-Finish, /grup “bye”, skip.
This is the reality. Of course if you have a good group (or guild) you can enjoy it, but they are lot of people who enjoy this game playing at their own.

I’m not sure what you mean, like mercenaries in Gw1? I agree with put Heroes (and mercenaries) in this game but they are other threads to discuss that.
This is not true for the people that don’t want to apply themselves to getting a guild to run there is always www.GW2lfg.com every time I have used this site with in 10 minutes I am running a dungeon. It is easy and simplistic to use, they can easily just use the system that is in place now and have no difficulties in finding a group, DE or fractal. If they still don’t want to use that system, then why should anyone cuddle to them? They don’t want to use tools that make things easier just so they can have heros again? That is not a reason to implement hero’s that is just being lazy.

The main argument for not putting Heroes is that it lowers the chances of finding people to do dungeons. The problem is that for some reason they put this system in GW1, and the same thing is happening now, is that without heroes is equally difficult to find people. You can not force people to cooperate, if forces only get worse: they leave, and I think this is a worse solution.
If you have a Guild finding people will no be a problem, but for people who play alone (and they are so many) this system only encourages to tire and leave the game.

On top of that, the Hero system in GW1 is what ruined it. When heroes got introduced everyone started to solo the game, instead of playing with others (UW and DoA with 7 heroes…). I don’t want to see the same happen to GW2.
I disagree with heroes ruined GW1. People playing with heroes because it was fun (because you could put your equipment, your weapons etc). Nobody forced you, if you want to play with people you can, if you want to play alone you can.
If GW2 puts a similar system, sure Anet will adapt to the characteristics of GW2, and remember, there are people who like to play alone and have the right to do so.
First sorry if my englsih is not very good. I love the heroes system of GW1 and I hope someday get it in Gw2, but I think it would give a lot of problems especially if you can use in the world map (how divides the experience? and if another players appear what happens? And many other things….)
I repeat I LOVE the heroes system of Gw1 but for example in dungeons they are many situations that requires a human execution in group, how can you do with heroes? (for example the traps of ascalon path 2)
If Anet decide to put heroes (I really hope it ) they need to change a LOT of things of the game so it’s difficult.
