The point that you’re missing is keeps are supposed to be very very hard to capture from an opposing team. As far as I’m concerned its already ridiculously easy to capture large structures like keeps and stonemist, since all you need is just a big enough zerg to do it.
If you take away the small small window for defenders to waypoint back in you will just make it even MORE easy for attackers to just zerg their way in. this would be a terrible change to the waypoints.
Waypoints are currently the most powerful upgrade in the game but there are a few issues.
They are only inactive when the defense quest is active, are you guys planning on disabling them slightly longer than the defense quest to allow attackers to keep the defenders from spawning there just as the defense quest lapses?
For example under the current system I can count down on voip the defense quest and spawn in everyone right as it hits zero and before attackers can reflag the keep.
This is definitely a bug. I’ll see about leaving the rally points disabled for a few extra seconds after the event has completed. That way it just stays disabled if the event starts back up.
Please dont do this, its already hard enough sometimes to defend keeps against huge zergs, if we cant even get our reinforcements in to help defend, than the waypoint might as well be removed entirely.
i have pretty much zero interest at all in doing this event now, i play this game to play with my friends, not a bunch of random people i have no interest in talking to or ever seeing ever again.
What kind of design concept includes group events that you cant even play in the group you want too.
This event overall has still be great but Toypocaltpse is a failure in my eyes because i don’t even want to play it now at all.
I hated the snowball game for this same reason. The Bell game was fun but i still wanted to do it with friends, so i lost interest after getting the achievement and never went back.
love the whole idea behind it, seriously great idea for this one !!
Noll worked a grand total of 1 time, got no credit because the 1982 people spaming AOE kitten killed the guards to fast, now Noll is bugged once again and you cant talk to him at all.
at least we can see him now thats an improvement :rolleyes:

Plinx was a Bot haven, this nerf isn’t surprising at all.
Personally i think its a good thing anyway, this game is huge go find something else to do other than one event chain over and over again. Event farmers are the reason Orr is so unenjoyable because no one ever gets to take part in the events as they were intended.
I get the sound bug literally every single time when taking part in the Claw Of Jormag event. And if i don’t completely close down my game within a certain amount of time my game crashes.

oh my god, the last 3 hours in stonemist has been completely crazy, both BG and JQ both getting inside the outter walls but we just keep holding them back :S
Ive been running back and forth on the top floor firing cannons all over the place.
So much fun.
yeah i love the challenge of this puzzle.
BUT what i hate is having to do it with 15 other people, even more so when there are Norn and Char there, can we make this Party only please? getting tired of not being able to see anything because of fat kitten characters blocking the view
i would be good with 3 days, but only on weekends, Friday-sunday since then no one could complain about night capping.
Getting kills is not the point of WvWvW, capturing territories is, if they port away than that is no different than you killing them, they can no longer defend whatever they were defending. As that other guy said stop chasing random solo explorers and go capture supply camps. Be useful.
siege that you place yourself is one thing but the fact that cannons and Oil pots are almost completely useless is what bugs me, you spend all that supply and money to build up cannons and mortars and they get killed so kitten easily
I wish you could also pay for like a shell casing that goes around the cannons and oil pots that your character can hide it and take no damage from enemies AOE or not.
The cannons and oil still take damage and die like normal but at least they can actually be used by defenders….
This would work as long as it had the same implications that the Orb does, namely no waypoints, abilities are all changed ect ect
i honestly never knew they were there at all and it seems most people dont either as i have never seen anyone use them for defending before.
as for the guy who asked if i meant Mortar when i was referring too the cannons on the top level of stonemist.

I only found out about these like not even 3 days ago. very handy cannons to say the least.
Honestly i was highly amused one day when i discovered that Stonemist Castle has Cannons placed on the highest level of the castle on all 4 of those loooooooong paths that stick out.
After over a month of playing that was the first time i ever noticed those cannons, and i cant have been the only one since i NEVER see anyone go up there… i went up there because i was just fooling around and i only noticed them cause i spotted an attack and was like…“there is a cannon here..”…makes me sad that no one on my server knew about them in that Golem picture a few posts up
You mean Mortars, right?
No i mean Cannons, on the very top floor on the 4 long platforms that stick out past the inner walls into the main courtyard, each one has a cannon that sits on the edge of them, its pretty much impossible to destroy them from outside the outer walls AFAIK anyway

I never said this was the end all solution but right now all the Cursed shore events are, is a bunch of classes with AOE spam skills using these skills on the spawn points before the mobs are even visable, this is plain straight up stupid. Yes the mobs should be more annoying than THAT, right now its so stupidly eazy that most events never even get to have players take part in them. its just spam as much AOE as you can in the exact same spot.
If Mobs reflected that damage back at the AOE spammers they would actually have to use something else for once like some other classes have too and events wouldnt be so trivialized as they are right now. Besides this reflecting would only last a couple of seconds, long enough for the mobs to spread out a bit and actually let other players take part.
Then what happens to the necromancers whose only really viable build is a condition spreader….other than our AoE and conditions we have very very limited damage (think a third the burst of a warrior) and our only means of survival is wear the mobs down with conditions before they melt our faces.
I think we need more than a one dimensional approach that would severely impare some players only viable builds.
Hold on i didn’t mean the reflection lasts forever, all AOE skills will still be useable, I’m talking about how right now all people do is set their AOE on the spawn point and all the enemies die before even becoming visible, making it so any class that doesn’t have a quickly spam-able AOE not even able to take part in the event.

i’ll play probably a good portion of the weekend, then its back to doing other things from Monday onward as always since there is no point in playing once the weekdays start

The system doesn’t match teams all that well either. Even right at the very top in NA servers HoD completely outnumbers SBI and ET, as well as JQ who is the last of the “top 4”
Frankly this means the system is broken no matter what because HoD cant face off against anyone else, and neither can SBI , ET and JQ get the fun of destroying the poor kittens who are 4th and 5th, switching on and off.
Server balance is an issue and frankly you’re being just as selfish for thinking its totally fine to have one section of the world having total control over another section of the world.
Ive said it earlier, the only solution is to have weekend matches only, then you could probably even raise the player limit cap and there is no such thing as peak or off-peak hours since people can play all day or all night at their leisure with no school or work.

We dont bother because it wont matter if the 4-6 of us play or not, yeah sure we could run around for a few hours taking supply camps, whoopdeedoo
our servers need probably 100-200 more people on each map to even contend once monday rolls around, there is no point to our small group playing when that is the case

Honestly the only thing that is going to fix this problem is to run WvWvW matches only on weekends, there is no issues of people working or having to sleep at specific times, and no player from anywhere in the world gets labled as night cappers or anything else.
The weekend fighting between Hod, SBI and ET was amazingly fun…then monday comes along and HoD just captures all the territories without any risistance, i know for a fact that myself a several friends/guildmates dont care at all about WvWvW once monday rolls along
JQ is ranked #2 only behind HoD, its simply a matter of putting #1 against #2…there really isnt much else to be done about it. We dont really like it on SBI either but thats just how it is when you are the top 3 servers
been 3 days on Stormbluff Isle, tried like 7 other servers, its broken on every single server from the looks of things, how is something THIS broken?
