will that 200 gem price be per mission or per patch of the living story? (E.G. Queen’s jubilee with the 2 missions we had there, Blood and Madness update giving us 2 fights with the bloody prince)

I assume this does not include the Super Adventure Box (Would pay 800 gems for access always, in a heartbeat) would this be correct to assume?

Is their a ballpark idea to how many missions we should expect?

Will these missions be solo, or can you bring in friends to a mission if they do not have it?

If I think up more i’ll ask more.

What happens to the equipped PVP skins?

the equipped pvp stuff will be deleted as well as your complete pvp locker
but all those skins will be in your wardrobe
and if you want to look like be4 yo have to use a few transmutation charges pick the skins out of your wardrope and put them over your pve armour

if not equipped u might considder buiing rest of the armour

since most of my chras are still lvl 2 and not that good equipped but nicely equipped in pvp… >__>

so just to be safe; hop on my characters and make sure all the skins I have presently are in the wardrobe.

I see no reason to nessicarily say that Mordrahemoth will be the next one we have to deal with. What happens to the Sylvari when he truly rises is yet to be seen, so their could be a story there. That being said, he just happens to be awake now much like all the rest of the dragons. Personally, I would like to see Primordus be considered next (and not just because of the hope of the Tengu becoming playable.) The wiki walks about his minions appearing on the surface more frequently, so perhaps they have simply beaten all the dwarves. That and maybe he is getting closer to the surface. All this plus his minions are all appearing right between Divinity’s reach and Lion’s Arch so their is a sense of urgency there.

Possibility of a new playable race?

in Living World

Posted by: LeDuc.1436

LeDuc.1436

of the races mentioned:

tengu the tengu are distrustful of outsiders, and we would have to prove ourselves to them. Until we as the outside communities do something major for the Tengu I don’t see them allowing other races inside of the Dominion of the wind. Primordus would have to be gone after more directly for the tengu to consider opening the gates.

Kodan Possibly the most likely to be playable. Ever since they have been pushed south, the Kodan have learned to rely on the player races in their time of need, no doubt hearing how the other races have dealt with one elder dragon. I expect that if this were to happen, the Kodan would likely become a playable race upon dealing with Jormag.

largos Much like the Tengu, the Largos are a secretive species, and little is known about them. Much like the other races, the Largos have an elder Dragon to deal with; “Bubbles.” The problem with the Largos is that “Bubbles” is hardly influencing the game as compared to the other dragons. We’ve seen Bubbles influence cause the Quaggan and Karka to move but that is about it.

Dwarves The Dwarves are more or less an extinct race. Only 1 remains on the surface.

LeDuc.1436

I enjoy having something new to be doing, especially after getting to the end game. (I just don’t like having to rush it, no sense of enjoyment with such a small timeframe to do things.)

I like having a new cast of characters being introduced. (Even if I’m not a big fan and most seem quite impersonal.)

The story has been spotty unfortunately. It peaked my interest quite a bit in Flame and Frost but it… Got a bit misplaced after that.

Overall I liked LS, as a whole, even if I think it was a bit poorly executed.

They are trying something. and yea I liked the F&F patch.

What did you like about the living story?

in Living World

Posted by: LeDuc.1436

LeDuc.1436

With the announcement of 4 patches left to this overall arc, I think that it would be important for the community to ask itself what they did like about the living story. Clearly some things were not as well taken as others, but it is still good to be asked.

Personally, I did enjoy Scarlet as a character. She seems a bit crazy; and had more to her then met the eyes initially. Many players did not seem to enjoy her, but I think this stems from us not getting anything in the way of her character. If the Anet team would with future releases give the characters some more to these people then simply “i’m here to cause chaos, okthnxbai” then I imagine that this would improve what many people think of the character.

Locations. When a new region is added for players to explore, it can often be seen as a positive thing. While Southsun was a good first attempt, it is simply unpopular. The map is difficult to traverse and has little to it which would actually make a player want to return. With that out of the way, I think that Cragstead would be a good example of what I refer to. Cragstead was the next additional area added to the game that sat in the living story. It was a city under attack that we; the players came to rescue.
the Crown Pavilion was an area that was widely loved by players, giving them something to come together and do in a small area. very few fans that I can recall expressed a dislike of this new area. Finally on the topic of new regions, the Bazaar of the Four Winds has to be brought up. a map filled with it’s own unique mechanic to get around this vertical map had been introduced, and the map was met with much positive feedback once more. The mobility crystals that had allowed players to traverse the map was a fun thing to use to get around the map.
A new location does not have to be an entire map, but could simply be a revamping of a dead area.

Activities. The activities are like a little activity tucked away that will allow a player to do something that does not involve killing mindless NPCs or other players. the minigames we have are fairly fun, and can give a bit of flavor to a race (keg brawl/Super Adventure Box) or region (Sanctum Sprint/Southsun Survival.) When done well, they can be loved and can leave players yearning for more.

So these have been my thoughts about the Living story, Keep it up devs. you can’t please everyone with everything, but their are the folks out there that DO enjoy what you bring us.

How would you do a Crystal Desert update?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: LeDuc.1436

LeDuc.1436

If I were to work out the Crystal Desert in a Living story update, I would bring out a fairly small map no bigger then one of the racial towns (Hoelbrak, The Grove, Queensdale) which wouldn’t give a whole lot, but their is a grand plan at work.

The Pact would be slowly expanding out into the Crystal Desert, and the players would have to do missions to help the pact expand further and further into the CD. With each Living story update, the pact would be able to work their way into the Desert. Players would be able to go out further, but the monsters would have some sort of buff or ability to them that could render our attacks incapable of damaging these monsters, which would force the pact to find a way to break through the tough skin on these monsters.

BG ~ JQ ~ SoR Week 7 Gold League

LeDuc.1436

I get why people on SOR and JQ hate some BG so much, I mean for heavens sake were only 1 day into it and yall are claiming champion this, and undefeated that crap. No offense guys but we all know what is going on with seasons. Just get out there and enjoy a HEALTHY T1 matchup with fights and good strategy around every corner. Its your right to PVF if you want but it doesnt make you or BG look any better or do any better. Just my opinion.

Anyways hats off to all those enemies we faced last night in SOR BL was a really fun time we enjoyed it. Im sure we will see you tonight.

If you venture out of this thread and to other other threads on this forum, you will realize that the BG chest thumping actually gets worse than this. Regarding the matchup, at this moment, there’s nothing JQ and SOR can do especially that IRON has left SOR. If you notice, BG takes over the lead once again during EU time. It’s the weekends so NA can probably log in earlier, but during weekdays, it’s another 4 to 5 hours of uncontested capping by BG. Let’s hope season 2, both JQ and SOR can get a few EU guilds to make this time zone a little more competitive.

There was a time when BG/SoR/JQ were no different in terms of how bad their chest thumpers and trolls are…. But, IRON being self-banned from forums and then transferring, and JQ losing Seasons and their trolls… The only ones left are mostly BG. BG won PvF Season 1, too.

(I have to hand it to IRON, though. They were dedicated trolls. Unlike JQ fairweather trolls who showed up the 20 something hours when JQ had the lead and disappeared when JQ lost it in Week 5.)

I think we missed a grand opportunity with BG winning seasons. The forums would be alight with trolling if JQ ended up winning with their schedule, and chest thumping if SoR won with “we play for fights but we ended up winning wow such community”.

I think BG winning was probably the most generic fuel for the chest thumpers and trolls to feed off of. Very tame compared to what could have happened.

lol.. wow.. So let me get this right. This is all in just a few posts in this thread..

1) BG claims “World Champions of wvw” even though there is an EU bracket.
2) BG claims “undefeated in season 1” even though it’s only 1 day into the week.
3) BG claims “winner of pvf for season 1” just to continue chest thumping….

1) I didn’t see Vizunah Square get as much hate as Blackgate. All Blackgate is missing is the label “America’s Team”. Although, I would love to see the top of EU face us so we can have a challenge.
2) We probably have the highest gap in PPT for Tier 1 and also broke our competition. If we are undefeated, we are only predicting correctly. I don’t think Blackgate can be undefeated though, but we’ll see how focused Blackgate is.
3) I’m supposed to be humble when the server I have been on my entire time in GW2 wins in the face of people who incessantly whine? Right….

exactly. I’ve sat back and been calm about the matters here. We all knew that whoever won league from these servers was going to do some chestbumping at the end. If it had been JQ that won league then BG and SoR would have been complaining of their unfair match up, and if SoR won then… okay I got nothing for what specifically the other servers would whine about on this one.

All the posts about “buying” guilds has got me thinking.

Before I start let me clarify something that people like to forget. I can’t speak for all servers, but I know enough about what’s going on BG to know that BG has never ever given more than the cost of a guild to move. In fact, I know of no particular case where it was more than 50% of the moving costs. In ZDs case, it was much much less. So for the definition of helping guilds move, or “buying” I’m talking about 50% or less than the guild cost to move.

It shows how differently SOR and BG consider their community. SOR is very proud of the fact they never ever “buy” guilds to SOR. They talk about their community but they refuse to help any guild become a part of it.

BGs community is inclusive and SOR’s is exclusive. BG invites guilds to become a part of its community. More importantly, we are willing to go to bat for any guild that wants to become a part of it. We’ve done influence boosts, let people share guild missions and yes, we’ve sent gold to help reduce a guilds out of pocket expense to become a part of our community.

It’s not something we are ashamed of, it’s something we are PROUD of. Committing to moving a guild that one person or a small group of people have worked months or even a year to build to move to a new home is scary. The costs are enormous, not just transfer costs, but influence for guild upgrades and guild missions are a six week minimum to rebuild, that’s with unlimited influence. Why in the world would a guild make that sacrifice if they weren’t 100% sure they would be welcomed into the new community.

That’s why we go to great lengths to make them feel welcome and put our money where our mouth is and help cut the costs they have down. We show them that we want them here, that we’ll make room for them on reset night, that we’ll invite them to the server meetings and welcome them to post on server websites. Nothing brings guilds together like sharing the same guild chat for a week or two while you build influence or share guild missions. THAT is community.

(EDIT: Based on posts that SOR never ever helps guilds move with gold)
In contrast to that philosophy is SOR’s, which can be boiled down to “Get on my level.” You make it clear that no one is welcome to SOR unless they take a step of faith towards your community, instead of you making a step of faith towards their guild.

(EDIT: Based on posts from your community in this very thread) It is the same attitude towards new players on your own server. They have to be as “hardcore” as your guilds are before they are welcome on the map. Casuals need not apply, either to your guilds or your server.

Then, you make it a point to degrade and downtalk BG for its community choices. We aren’t inclusive in your eyes, we are “PvX guilds filled with pugs”. We don’t help people that want to join our community, we “buy guilds as mercenaries” and “destroy competitive play”.

A guild wants to know that you as a server have their back once they move over, not be worried that they will be excluded once the gems are spent.

Do not lay the blame of a difference in population or coverage on the choices we’ve made on how we built our community. Maybe take a look at the image of your own community you’re putting out.

Because it needs to be reposted and reminded for people

Well a more solid “Capture the flag” style game-mode would be nice to include. The “Spirit Watch” map all ready has the Orb of ascension in it that gives it a familiar item in it that brings this map close to that idea, but in order to truly give you that, the capture points would have to be removed or able to be toggled on this map, and it could leave you with the Wolf and the Bear points to be the home bases for the Orb to be taken to.

A circle around the dolyak might be worth doing, and it could be given something extra. What i’m thinking is that the dolyak could get a buff for having a player in the circle.

For 1 player in the circle, the yak moves 1% faster
For 2 players in the circle, the yak moves 2% faster
…and so on and so forth up to 5% for 5 players.

Why only this much? Well you wouldn’t want a whole map of people all on one yak and send it scuttling up the road to get into a keep.
