Guild Wars 2

Have the same problem here with my ATI Radeon 5700 series. I’ll usually have my screen freeze and after 5 seconds black screen and then return or what you have the monitor lose signal and it says HDMI no input. I found an interesting but annoying fix if the monitor does lose signal just pull the HDMI cable out of the back of ur comp and put it back in again and you’ll get the screen back. This only works though if the whole system hasn’t frozen and you can still hear game sounds if not you have to hardboot it which is a pain in the kitten especially if you have been waiting in wvw queue for over an hour :P
I also find that loading up guild wars 2 as soon as the computer loads up and not tabbing out of the game or starting up any other programs in the background improves stability no end but yup like you i’ve been waiting for a fix for over a year now so I don’t expect anything soon :P

OK this isn’t new to me I’ve had this problem for about a year now and it still hasn’t been fixed. Basically I will be playing the game quite happily with no lag of any kind then suddenly the screen will freeze up for about 5 seconds, then black out and then return to the game 5 seconds later. If I tab out of the game however things get worse. If i then continue to play after i have tabbed out my computer will completely black screen and freeze up requiring a reboot. I have tried every possible fix under the sun including reinstalling display drivers. Wiping my display drivers completely and reinstalling them, reinstalling windows adding more RAM you name it. This seems to be the only game i have a problem with and the game worked fine up until a year ago so I’m at a loss. If anyone has a remote idea what is wrong please help!!!! :P

Same happened to me today. Finish COF and open end chest. Find out my invents full. Try to breakdown some items to make room and b4 i can scoop loot leader leaves and party gets kicked. Lost 2 rares due to that…

Just played factions the other day exploring the Jade Sea. Walking over the frozen ocean. Hearing the cracking sound that it makes and then reaching the border where the sea meets the Kurzick forest. Nothing in GW2 really makes me feel the same way. Bring back Factions!!!!

Using the same card as you Kye so there must be something incompatible with it and guild wars 2. All my other games run fine with it and the game also ran fine until the march update also…

Unfortunately I dont think you will get one any time soon. This issue has been posted in about 15 other topics on this forum and have simply been ignored and allowed to slip down the thread pages. Been having the same issue as you and many others for over a month now. I’ve sort of come to terms with it as I have a Solid State drive which means I can reboot faster but it is still really fustrating when fighting a boss and it crashes because it means you loose your loot. Also the suggested help they’ve posted on here I’ve tried over and over again with no success…

Me and many others are in exactly the same boat hence the 3 or 4 ongoing threads on this issue. Game crashes with no video input and no way of getting out except hard reboot. Have also tried many other taxing games to stress my card and have experienced no problems suggesting that this is an incompatibility issue rather than hardware failure and from reading other posts on the issue it seems that this problem only started for many people about 2 months ago after recent patching. The suggested ‘fix’ that anet have released doesnt help a bit and until it is i think im going to have to take a break from the game as it is just stressing me out having to reboot every 10 mins.

Another observation I’ve had is that if I boot up my pc and do nothing but open guild wars 2 i may get up to an hour or so playtime without incident however if I do anything out of game such as opening a folder or web browser it will crash within 5-10 mins

A response from Anet would be nice about now. Its really starting to become a problem. All I can say is im glad i have an SSD to boot up quickly otherwise I would have quit by now :P

I hope Anet can look into this asap coz its really becoming an issue. Ive followed all of the procedures, fresh gw2 install, latest drivers, latest profiles, using application settings but still no luck. Getting fustrating now as the game crashed while in the middle of a dragon fight…

Never had this problem before but all of a sudden today all hells broke loose not been able to play more than 5 mins without it crashing. can still hear sound etc. I have an Asus monitor and when the crashes occur the screen comes up with a message saying out of range. Have also just blown the dust out of my computer and temps are looking good so I dont really know what else to do. My card is an ATI Radeon 5700 btw.

it seems to be on and off but its getting so bad now that even talking to someone ingame is a struggle

getting the same thing at final seal with adds after seals been hit not despawning. That combined with fanatics + agony aoe from boss makes this near impossible to complete without heavy agony resists. Please fix anet. :/
