Option to hide other player's backpack

Alright, I personally would not use it, but I totally agree with having an option of using placeholders instead of characters, or even just turning off sparklies and what not on armor. And here are multiple reasons as to why that option would be good:

1.) Some people get headaches from different things visually. Like a literal headache, not just “Oh, I don’t like the looks of that. I’m gonna say it gives me a headache.”

2.) Some people come to Tyria to travel to a high-fantasy setting, not to play Groovin’ Grinder: The Disco Fantasy RPG. When I play games, usually I pick to play games based on their settings, not just gameplay, ect. Example, I personally don’t care for SciFy settings, but love High Fantasy, one of the reasons I fell in love with the Guild Wars universe. An example, what if you want to play a high-fantasy and you’re totally enjoying some dark storylines, such as those in which characters get killed off or misfortune befalls them, then you get out of it and have to do an open world part to continue the story, and none other than Cptn Fancypants comes along doing the same events as what you need on his rainbow sparkling attire shooting rainbows to vanquish his foes. That kinda kills the experience IMO of someone wanting to continue their dark streak.

3.) Some peoples’ computers perform not so great. Perhaps theirs is one that performs just at the point where it no longer uses placeholders, but once the map loads enough to turn off the placeholders, their computer just is at its limit, whirring away furiously to try to keep up. What if they had a simple checkbox to tick that would take their experience from frustratingly laggy to the awesome adventure that is Guild Wars 2? Would you want to deny someone the enjoyment of what apparently is a game that you love so much that you want to show off your skins in?

Okay, and for cons against these systems:
1) It has to be coded; may take away from something else for a little bit.
2) People want their skins to be looked at and admired.
3) Sometimes someone with a great imagination and art skills can make one thing that someone think looks ugly look amazing just by using the right combination of shades and colors.

And of course these lists are not exhaustive, just y’know, something for both sides to think about.

Rollback and the Time-Space Continuum

Now, I know a lot of people are asking for something for compensation because of the rollback. I have a different suggestion on what could be done. Make a reason why it happened in game, it can be whatever reasoning you want. However, I have a suggestion.

It’s obvious that something to do with rolling back time should be connected with time travel and whatnot. Not to mention that replaying season 1 has been asked for many times.. So some Asura (or someone tinkering with Asuran inventions) is doing research on what happened in the past and messing with time ’caused yesterdays issues. Now it may be awhile for this individual to actually allow you to come with them to replay history

So there were about twenty or so releases for season 1, and not counting repeated (SAB, Wintersday, Halloween, Queen’s Jubilee) or permanent additions (Tequatl, Fractured) there are 17 releases, which easily can fit into a yearly schedule of two weeks each with plenty of time for holidays and whatnot.

Here is my suggested Calender in order of releases:

The Lost Shores – May 8 – May 21
Flame and Frost – May 22 – June 5
The Secret of Southsun – June 5 – June 18
Last Stand at Southsun – June 19 – July 2
Dragon Bash – July 4th – July 3 – July 16
Sky Pirates of Tyria – July 17 – July 30
Bazaar of the Four Winds July 31 – August 13
Cutthroat Politics*1 – August 14 – August 27
Queen’s Jubilee – August 28 – Sept 10
Clockwork Chaos – Sept 11 – Sept 24
Tequatl Rising*2 – Sept 25 – Oct 8
Halloween – Oct 9- Nov 2
Twilight Assault – Nov 3 – Nov 16
Blood and Madness – Nov 17 – Nov 30
Christmas Dec 1 – Jan 20
Tower of Nightmares – Jan 21 – Feb 3
Canthan New Year*3 – Feb 4 – Feb 17
The Nightmares Within – Feb 18 – March 3^
The Origins of Madness – March 4 – March 17
The Edge of the Mists – March 18 – March 31
April Fools: Super Adventure Box April 1st – 9
Escape from Lion’s Arch – April 10 – April 23
Battle for Lion’s Arch – April 24 – May 7

*1 Cutthroat Politics is more or less just a continuation of the Four Winds, without actually counting the votes this time around. Perhaps have one release the Cutthroat Politics and one the Festival of the Four Winds from the beginning of season 2
*2 Tequatl Rising is not necessary and can be absorbed into halloween time, or ran for achievements, maybe with Fractured! too.
*3 Time slot subject to change yearly with The Nightmares Within or Tower of Nightmares depending on the Chinese New Year
^ This time slot will have an extra day every leap year

Primarily, people just want two things, to be admitted to that they were wronged (even if they really weren’t and were unavailable to play the entire time the game was down) and to get something in return for it. This something isn’t required to be something of value, but just something. And as they say, it is the thought that counts when giving a gift, so something like this would be much better than a gift of dye packs or something else that more or less seem like a fruit basket type of gift, that said, a title and a skin or two would also work if enough work was put into tying it with the rollback, though then we are getting back into the problem with material gifts.

And before someone says something, I know that they can’t just reload the patches with those updates in them since there is so much more, and same with some of the maps that have changed, and that even if they could it would still take some time to code irregardless.

GW 1: Dragon Festival for non-Cantha chars?

Sorry nobody posted this for you, but if you travel to the Marketplace and then go into the Kaineng Docks zone and talk to First Mate Xiang, you should be able to travel to Seitung Harbor on Shing Jea Island, which is just a short trek up a mountain path to the Monastary, and if I recall correctly, the Shing Jea Boardwalk is not a zone in its own right, just a sectioned off part of the Shing Jea Monastary zone that you have to talk to an NPC to get teleported across a gate for.

Upgrade to Deluxe

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

I tried searching deluxe and upgrade and didn’t find anything, so apologies if this has been covered somewhere. But I remember that for the base game you could upgrade to deluxe via gems and was wondering if that was possible to upgrade to the heart of thorns deluxe if you already have the base? I’m right now sitting with a gifted physical box with receipt and am trying to decide if I should return it for cash and just grab the deluxe version or open it now(I do enjoy having the physical cases on my bookshelf)

So if anyone can tell me that if once they have the expansion on their account and no deluxe, is there an option in the black lion trading post to upgrade?

There is a difference between digital deluxe and collector’s edition. Just sayin’. Though CE includes the DD.

Factions and racism against Sylvari?

Question: Why don’t we just take something already in game, right? And the playerbase can make a factions war out of that. I would suggest taking the server you chose to be part of and that is your faction, then let’s dedicate a map-set for it… How about the Eternal Battlegrounds, Borderlands and Edge of the Mists?

Also another alternative I thought of is this: Why not have us support the minor race we chose to support in our storylines in some new map. Where players are forbidden to actually engage in combat with the other minor-races and such, but you work to make your chosen faction stronger and in turn they themselves fight the battle.

Transmutation Charges

I had 10 when I logged in. However, I was rank 10 in Spvp. Also got like 40-some from the transmuatation stones and stuff I had in my bank.

Any use for leftover Tricolor Key?

Really, with the new bosses in the area, other than more champ farms, what good are they? I would like to see maybe the chest being an added bonus when defeating the Toxic Alchemist, or even the sea witch.. It would be a way to encourage people to complete these events some more. Even though they won’t be getting keys unless in Kessex Hills anyways..

Style Gear Issues

Hmm, I don’t have any style gear to test it with, but, have you tried putting it on a non-soulbound piece of equipment to be able to trade it to the character you want using a Transmutation stone? I know you would prefer not to have to resort to using two stones just to transfer it from one character then to another’s armor.

As for the accidental salvaging, tough luck, Anet probably won’t fix that. They seem to be sticking to keeping the ACCOUNT-BOUND Rytlock mini to one per account rather than one per character. It’s not like it would screw up anything since you can’t trade them.
