Of course, =D I didn’t get any precursor drops that I know of, but since we couldn’t keep anything I stopped picking up the loot bags. They were filling up my extra gear space.

I played the Rev a little, and while I like the idea of swapping between 2 stances at any give time I don’t think limiting weapons to a particular stance is working so well. Stance swapping on the fly means that you’re able to change your role on the fly as necessary, but locking a weapon into a stance means you actually better not swap legends in mid combat. You don’t really have the time to get Out of Combat to switch your weapon out because you switched your stance.

If they can come up with a good solution I would be all for it. Either a regular weapon swap, or something like the Ele’s where it changes your 1-5 skills depending on what stance you’re in. Honestly though when I think healing, I don’t think melee, I think ranged. Why staff is melee on Rev I am not sure….since it’s supposed to be paired with healing stance….

I do think it’s kind of neat that the 6-0 skills change depending on what stance you are in, so it really puts more value into that stance. Ventari is healing, so your traits reflect that. It would be nice if there were a couple of alternatives though so you could tweak it slightly but it’s still an interesting concept.

CONCERN-Guilds won't let EB build in hall

You will be able to build/decorate your guild hall, just talk to the leaders of your guild. In my guild we pretty much all trust each other and we talk outside of the guild so I see no reason why one of us wouldn’t be allowed to decorate our guild hall.

I think you are associating the ability to do something within your guild with the game as a whole. If you are in a guild where the leaders don’t trust you with responsibilities like decorating a shared guild space, you have to talk to them about that.

Aside from that the guild halls aren’t for individual people, the npcs and functions are to help the guild as a whole =)

From my understanding of the Guild Hall system it will be available to any guild that wants one.

If you buy HOT then you can build a guild hall in Maguuma, but you need to clear out the NPC monsters before you can claim the map as your guild hall. If you don’t buy HOT you can use a guild hall like facility in Lion’s Arch.

Buildings inside your Guild Hall will require certain elements, like guild influence (which is changing names) and some materials, but it should all be obtainable if you do guild missions with your guild and work together.

How do you link the HOT purchase to your account?

They should have just cleared it up from the beginning. The expansion is 50$ ok. Great. You’re giving new players a chance to play the game without having to pay the extra 50$
Great.
But I’m sure some veteran players would like a discount on the price of the expansion, especially since the basic version doesn’t give anything to existing players, and I’m sure a lot of us will be spending 75$ to get those items that won’t be available otherwise.

I got a portal invite to the beta test, and unfortunately I am one of those people that always works Tuesday when A-Net releases updates/content. I work a night job, so I never really get to play the game when these updates go live. I am happy that I will be able to join the test after work, but I do agree that A-Net should have given us information about what the times would be when the Portal farming event started.

It’s one thing if you work but you have all day to check the beta. It’s another thing if you only have a few hours out of the day, or you live on the East Coast, like I do, and could potentially miss all three times.

Since the event required blind farming, and low drop rates, people could have easily invested over 40 hours to try to get one of these portals. If we knew ahead of time, some of those people wouldn’t have had to spend so much time farming if they weren’t going to be able to make the time frame.

It is a privilege to participate in a closed beta, but it’s impractical to have people spend so much time trying to get into it, and then find out that they won’t be able to actually participate because of a lack of communication/information.

Who’s to say that there will be enough participants to have valid performance reports created?

If you use daggers you will get a skill (no 2) that makes you leap forwards to attack your target, it also works well as a traveling skill. You can press it I think 4 times in a row before you use up your little thief stamina bar

Keep in mind though that if there are any mobs around it might target them, so it’s best to use it when you’re in a cleared space.

I think there is a soft cap on servers. I am on TC, and while back in the day you could wait until 4am or 5 am est time to transfer over that no longer seems the case. I have a friend brand new to the game and I couldn’t get him on TC. We both watched for a week and the two times that the server was open only lasted for a few minutes.

We now have 6 full servers, SoS has been Very Full at times, along with JQ but this is the second time i’ve seen this 10$ GW2 sale within a few months. Aren’t they expecting most of the servers to go Full?

Oh, I’m sucking it up haha.

In my experience with games when people start complaining about how a game is going wanting it to change, when they change it/if they change it, it makes it worse not better. Our Player characters aren’t likely to start turning insane on their own. But there will be tension! And probably mass burning of the Grove =(

Hm, now I see why Sylvari don’t have their own children _. What will they do with the Grove? Is it going to turn out like Lion’s Arch and get attacked and become bleh?

Well we? think that Ronan and Ventari gave the Pale Tree positive influence which helped her to grow the way she did and create the dream to protect her children so they could have their own future and possibly destroy the dragon instead of being controlled.

So the thing with Malyck is maybe his Tree just got planted but no one stayed around to influence her. Although that tree is in Maguuma somewhere. I’m not really sure why Malyck is more similar to our sylvari even though apparently his Tree never produced a dream to protect it’s sylvari. We could just say that since the dragon was sleeping already his influence wouldn’t have started until he awoke. But then Malyck/his people are probably going to be all Mordy controlled at this point. =/

As far as cold or hot, it’s probably close to that of a humans levels. Normal plants wilt when it’s too hot, or freeze/die when it’s too cold, so I wouldn’t expect Sylvari to act differently. On the wiki it says that a sylvari in the grove complains that Hoelbrak is too cold.

As a lover of Sylvari I am upset that it actually turned out this way. I didn’t want my favorite race to be dragon minions. It seems really out of place for you to play a Race that may potentially all be corrupted (well, except for the players themselves, unless we become the “evil” race in a game that doesn’t have “good” or “evil” races I.E EQ2 dark elves were evil, wood elves were good but you could switch factions)

I do kind of see how it was foreshadowed though. I completely forgot about the opening personal story where you fight a kind of dragon shadow monster before you wake from the Dream.

Since I have to suck it up, this is what I think.

The Sylvari are different than other minions because the Pale Tree was planted long before she was supposed to be, possibly also Malyck’s tree. Without direct Dragon influence, the sylvari were able to be born kind of like any other race, with their own thoughts and ideas. The Pale Tree, knowing what she was “meant” for, but not under Direct influence, decided to live how she wanted, and let her children live how they wanted. But to protect them she also shielded them from Indirect influence from the sleeping dragon. I guess maybe the Nightmare court sylvari were just more susceptible to his sleepy time influence and gave into those thoughts.

Also, who knows how long it would have taken for the Pale Trees to grow under Direct dragon influence, maybe it took 200+ years because she was not receiving Mordy’s power. Maybe Mordy Trees only take years to grow, therefore there would be no reason to have the Seeds planted before Mordy awoke. Sylvari could have sprouted out in record time.

It’s Lore, and we don’t know all 100% of it, but it would be nice if the Anet team would explain in detail the path of the sylvari that they had in mind, so we’d get a clear picture.

I kind of want to say more but at the moment my thoughts escaped and went into la la land -_-

“The work around there would be seeds, meant to be grown and fed by the dragon’s power around his awakening. The Pale Tree’s seed was removed from his influence and planted long before it could feed off of him, leading it to be fed and influenced by the “pure” magic than flows through Tyria. Considering the size of the tree, the roots probably hit a ley line somewhere. Therefore it has been sustained by an entire different form of magic as compared to other dragon minions.
It would seem that before awakening, he was still too weak to form any real champions, let alone control a champion that was born early and raised outside of his influence. The tree was planted and became conscious and alive around 300 years before Mordremoth was supposed to awaken and around 250 years before he actually did awaken. That alone drastically sets it apart from other champions which either existed before or were created around/after the dragon’s awakening.”

The context I got from all this being that the dragon’s Champions were all created by their minions, and for whatever reason, resided NEAR their dragon overlord during their sleep. I figure either the champions were made last cycle and rested nearby until they were reactivated, (like the Great Destroyer probably was) or created just after awakening (like the Shatterer probably was). Either way, proximity was probably one of the big two factors here. The dragons wouldn’t have a very far reaching influence while they slept.

The other factor being the material of the minion/champion. Stone, crystal, and even undead minions can likely be made today, deactivated for x thousands of years, then recalled after a few millenia. Plants are not so long lasting. Mordremoth’s minions seem to be a lot more organic than other minions, excepting maybe Zhaitan’s. This would make longevity for his minions a bit of a problem UNLESS he preserves his future minions in the form of seeds. Much like how conifers survived the ice age by using cones as organic stasis pods, Mordremoth’s seeds would be the stasis for his minions later on, and kept close by where his influence would reach said seeds, even while he was in deep sleep.

Thus the problem arises when some prick comes along and takes these seeds a little outside the range of where Mordremoth’s current influence lies. Breaking the Pale Tree out of her creator’s influence might not need to require a lot of energy if the dragon’s influence simply never reached her. At least not enough to morph her into a minion.

Just a thought at least.

Hello. My original ticket was submitted Aug 25 during the headstart, In Game Items [Incident: 120825-003004], and was told Sept 10 that my ticket was closed but I never received any resolution to my problem. I deleted my first character because I wanted to fix some errors I made on her appearance, but I did not realize that by accepting the mail on that character ( Corinnia Sangrerosa) that some of the items were only one per account. I deleted the mini rytlock, the chalice and the tome without knowing this, and would appreciate if those items could be replaced since I never used any of them. Thank you.
