additional screenshot for the bug report. Again like what I said, skins are unlocked already but is still charging me to skin it on any of my armors.
The items are:
Rox’s Quiver
Rox’s Bow
Wintersday Earmuff
Wizard’kitten
I have the following items:
Rox’s Quiver
Rox’s Bow
Wintersday Earmuff
Wizard’kitten
All the said items, I’ve acquired them before the “Wardrobe Overhaul Patch”. My problem now is that the said items, when I try to use them as a “SKIN”, the game is asking me to pay for “TRANSMUTATION CHARGE”. I should not be paying for any charge on this items when I am putting them as a skin.
Here’s a sample, The Rox skins which I even filed a ticket (Reference: 1748708:Rox Quiver and Bow Skins) for then they directed me saying its a bug. This is unacceptable. its been months since the update!
This is frustrating! Now I have to wait for it to be resolved instead of me just enjoying the game which I so very well know that it won’t be since you got the expansion which is just around the corner hence majority of your focus will be there.
Nodes are supposed to be random in the first place. They are now “slightly” working as intended.
Fiery Dragon Sword is a stylized fire-breathing dragon sword. Although it resembles the legendary weapons Magdaer and Sohothin, it is merely an Ascalonian replica without special powers. Swords like this were an iconic symbol of the fallen human nation, but have become less common during the last century. The Guild Warrior who defeated the Great Destroyer managed to obtain one that was subsequently placed in the Hall of Monuments, where it has been guarded by the ghosts there ever since, waiting for a hero worthy of its power.
( taken from the wiki )
So in-short if you want Sohothin then try taking it from Rytlock. I doubt though he’d give it to you without a fight.
Buy a mouse with extra programmable buttons. I have one (Razer Naga) and they are just cheap.
So in a nutshell everyone will be looking at keeping their stacks of might boons for as long as possible in WvW. Its not just going to be us thieves but even other classes.
Ran the traits yesterday with a berserker armor and by far without the Runes of Strength yet I finally was able to strike for 8k with backstab. At first I did thought it was a fluke but was able to reproduce again the same results. Signet of Power + Backstab + Stacks of Might boon (preferably more than 7 stacks) will give you 8k above damage. I also incorporated skills such as Skale Venom (if I know I can easily get close) and if not I change that to infiltrator’s signet.
The trick is to use infiltrator’s signet to get close use Cloak and Dagger then Signet of Power then do the backstab. Don’t rush your attack as well as you have the whole 4 secs. to position yourself directly at the back of your opponent.
Thanks! I really dislike the idea of P/D cause its really not my style of gameplay. The play of Black Powder + Heartseeker for me is too many initiative points wasted just to execute the move Backstab.
Thanks again, will test this one out. Sadly I don’t have Valkyrie Armors for my thief and the runes as well so its gonna be a farm fest for me.
Does this apply to WvW? I mean, if you have tried this in WvW, what were the results?
At the moment I really see the D/D is a no go for WvW.
Its either D/P or P/D that i’ve been seeing left and right for the past few hours now
( Playing in SoS ).
The things that i’ve observed though at the moment are:
1. They hide way more than before I went on hiatus.
2. Some use “Uncatchable” trait (found under Trickery III) so that they can’t be chased even when in stealth. Sadly I hear the sound of them popping the caltrops so I know that the thief is still around.
3. I can’t see the spike of critical damage higher than 5k often. More or so, its always 3k-4k crit for almost every thief i’ve encountered in WvW.
While i’m not all happy with the April 15th patch since I just got back after a 8 month hiatus.
What’s the current build for the D/P thief? I tried a few things myself but at most I can do 3.5k to 4k of crit ( no food buffs ). Any tips on this, trying to refresh myself back in this game.
@Hurp:
If you ask me its not cheap. With all the changes done, and like what I said a few post ago, The money that I may use to get transmutes is the same amount of money I can use to pay for Realm Reborn 60 day subs. Difference? The wardrobe skins there work way better than what happened here.
@skinni:
Some of them will appear while some won’t. There are armors that i’ve worn in my characters before ( from leveling ) that didn’t appear in my wardrobe so technically speaking, they said all gear that we wore back then was suppose to be already in our wardrobe inventory never happened. The only ones there were the ones we used to skin other gear/weaponry and the ones we currently wore/worn a few days/weeks/month before the patch rolled in.
@Shaktiboi
Same sentiment here… I’m starting to think that I’d rather fork money that i’d spent on transmutation stones and that upgrade extractor to a Realm Reborn Subscription Fee.
No offense ANET but i’m doubting what you want us customers to do with the game now.
Going back on the gold issue, In Guild Wars 2 on the other hand, Gold gain gets killed often so that people who wish to gain gold faster would use real money and trade gems for gold. I’ve nothing against that. The game needs to earn money its understandable for me. What I can’t comprehend is that the small things that make us, the players happy are getting targeted. Why? why do this to us? Are we getting punished for something we did not know we did? Running dungeons in Realm Reborn consumes more time ( to be honest sometimes double the time ) to accomplish compared to Guild Wars 2 but the difference is that in Realm Reborn, after the run, you get a sense of completion. Guild Wars 2 dungeon runs back then had that sense. Wherein after the run i’d step away from the computer and enjoy a nice glass of juice or a cup of coffee and then prepare for the next run. Now I start to feel that running the dungeons aren’t giving near ‘good’ profits anymore and not worth the time spent.
I’m a web designer / graphic artist in my line of work. What I must do everyday is impress and prove my work to clients. I make sure that what I tell them is what I can deliver and not over deliver. I make sure that if there is a change that will happen from the original design I would tell them the extent of what will change. I try my best to get their input. I do my best to get them involved cause at the end of the day, what I want is the one who will receive my product, my days of hard work to be happy, contented and most of all, know that what they paid me for was far more from what they expect of me. Now we all know we can’t please everyone but we could at least make ends meet. Right now ANet I am not sure how you plan to make ends meet with us players. Yes, the content you gave us for this April is really awesome but the issues that failed to be checked before it got released struck us hard. We love your game, we don’t want to rant or say bad stuff about the game but when we are treated like this, how can we not feel bad not just for you but even for ourselves. I am not bashing your company but rather I wish to ask…
Why have you taken the little things we love away from us in this game?
The Emperor’s New Clothes. I always thought this story is similar to how fashion is played in online games. Today however it somewhat proved true.
We’re all familiar with this fairy tale. Currently we are at the same predicament. How? We currently just had a wardrobe upgrade. Skins and dyes are now account wide. This is something I definitely loved and longed for. We all started trying out new outfits one after the other and loved the first few minutes, hours and so. However, it slowly went down as we started to see the cracks till the point that we are almost naked.
One thing notable that we all saw fall hard was our outfits. Some players (like myself) bought festive outfits and non-festive ones. Some (like myself) split the parts of it to achieve better fashion cause afterall, looking good cosmetically is part of how we feel satisfied in this game. Back then we could dye the outfits and this along with other players, we loved that aspect. Back then some of us wished we could bring them in battles cause its really stylish.
Now our outfits ended up as ‘tonics’ as players would call it now. We can’t even dye it properly nor can we split-mix-and-match things. As an example the Devil Horns, if one wants to use it you’d need to get some random headgear, skin the Devil Horns unto that then wear or salvage it just to turn it into a skin. What’s ridiculous for me now is that back then… I’d wear it with my " Fancy Winter Oufit " cause the headgear of it was not of my taste so I replaced it with that. Now, I’d need to “pay” for a transmute for an item that originally can be worn for free and I can’t even wear the “Devil Horns” with my " Fancy Winter Outfit ". I can’t even split the Winter outfit to begin with cause its now a ‘tonic-ish’ type of item.
I really really felt awkward and dismayed when I realized what was happening right before my very eyes. I was asking myself what happened? By then I started to look at my other items. The “Wintersday Earmuffs” & “Witch Hat” are now but gonna be sitting in my storage cause I don’t want them to be part of the wardrobe that I need to pay to use wherein the first place I was able to use them for free.
Next up was the trait changes and ferocity. New traits were added which was great! I don’t mind the requirements to get it cause at least it’ll give me a chance to roam the map more or I can just spend gold to unlock them. Either way its a great addition. Ferocity however, I know it was meant to nerf the damage of thieves and other classes that spike damage so much in WvW and PvP but the ratio of " at Lv.80, 15 Ferocity is equivalent to 1% Critical Damage ". I’m not sure if intensive research was done but for me and some players that ratio is so unproportionate. Overall, if one wants to efficiently get a good hold with Ferocity they will opt to get Ascended Gear. This is another awkward moment for me. I play a lot of MMOs out in the market and two of my favorites is Realm Reborn and Guild Wars 2.
My qualms with Realm Reborn is that it has too much Gil Sink and not enough Gil Gain but that was back then. The devs did their best to resolve it and by far the effect is well received by many as it resolves the issue of the lack of Gil early in the game. Fashion updates for their game is currently on-going and I’ve got to be honest, its way better than how the devs of Guild Wars 2 handled it. Realm Reborn armors past 50 can be attained by casual players but in Guild Wars 2, that ascended gear, that’s not gonna be something for casual gamers.

I don’t exactly have the time now to focus on the TP route. At most I run Ascalon Dungeon path 1-2-3 on three characters then path 1 and 2 of Citadel of Flame on three characters again. Overall with the flat definite 1g per run I get 15g flat secured on all of it ( this does not include the loots etc ).
8 months ago, I was doing the same runs but getting better trade for the same time spent. As for playing the TP, like what I said earlier, I don’t have the time to play the TP anymore unlike when I started the game wherein I was hunting the ore nodes, chopping wood and salvaging things left and right for materials and selling the ones that are in huge demand etc.
The thing is they decided to fix the system issue about the wardrobe, weaponry and armory department of the game. I for one agree that it needs a bit of fixing but a complete overhaul was NOT the solution which they opted for and the end result is a lot of us players end up suffering because of it.
@Pink:
You got that right! All the past armors you used are not unlocked. Only the ones you used & have before the patch. Everything else, you don’t have them unlocked.
@Morrigan.2809
Thanks for the assistance. Finally found it.
As for the issue about our costumes needed to be “PAID AGAIN” for us to use it. That’s a complete BS. We bought it with real money ( for me I spent real money for my costumes ) and then I get this… Pay first for you to use!
This also applies to my Rox skins. I paid for them why do I have to pay again and again to use them? You removed our gold farms but you made sure that we throw more cash to you. A complete total BS is happening from what I can see.
Also which bank is this? I mean I don’t see a guy standing to the bank. I’m at Divinity’s Reach bank.
@Morrigan.2809
but when I convert them I will need transmutation stones to use them right? I already paid for these items.
After the patch my Mad King and Fancy Winter outfits are all efin gone?!
(edited by Moderator)
Its been past 8 months since I last logged into the game. Today I decided to play again and one thing that I have noticed is the decrease of Gold gain in dungeons. Back then running dungeons was a great thing to do but now at most you’d get 1 Gold Secured per run ( not including the other items such as drops etc ) at most you’d really just get 2g or less per run.
I feel awkward asking or even saying this but what or how do you gain gold ( not by buying from other people ) in this game at the current time? ANET seems to be removing a lot of the Gold Sink ( minus the Trade Post registration fee ) but there’s no clear window as to where would one get their gold from. I’m not asking for a place or what not where you’d get rich almost instantly but what I want to know is how does one earn gold in this game now that ANET just keeps hammering and stomping areas where players would get gold legitimately ?
@Iohanna.4863
do you ever use Roll for Initiative instead of infiltrator’s signet? they both return the same initiative back but you get extra stun break instead of shadow step.
Roll for initiative is a good choice but the reason (for me) as to why its possibly infiltrator’s signet is because of the time taken to execute the skill and route for a quick escape. If you take those into account, infiltrator’s signet is indeed a better option despite the fact that you can gain initiative while escaping if you use ‘Roll for Initiative’.
I’ve only thought of this build as a theory and not as viable as I judge it but the gameplay proved me wrong. But then again, i do more of the espionage trips in my WvW hence it did not work well for me. I’ll be giving this build a shot and even get those armors. It should be interesting enough since i’m getting bored the hell out of killing my targets in quick successions but when struck by a hammer meant an end for my adventures.
This is going to be crappy…
Honestly i can fault you for that “targeting small fry”. A lot of thief players always kick it up a notch by challenging the menu. I do a lot of solo raids and the small fry are easy pick everyone knows that and the real game and deal breaker is where you find a worthy opponent. I’m hunting in WvW right now as I type this testing out another concept build.
Scouting for a challenge is the thrill and not picking flies.
First and foremost, arrogant way of posting. “Destroyer of Servers”.. Foo!
Second, the build is really just all about helping thieves survive in a battle. You traded high output damage for survival thus allowing you to stay longer in the heat of battle. Most of your opponents don’t know what to do when faced with a thief that continuously hides and blinks.
PS:
No offense but most of your targets are small fry.
Seen and done this build before for PvE and WvW. Sure its great to have that supply of stealth at hand but at what cost? I don’t see this performing well in fractals too. In fractals, get the resists and you should be good to go. Forgot to mention in fractals I carry :
3 pistols
1 Short Bow
4 daggers
1 Sword
Each have different sigils and I just cycle them together with utilities that fit the situations that we are in.
I run a 10/30/0/15/15 build at the moment and I switch it to 25/30/0/0/15 for WvW or stay with the 10/30/0/15/15 even in WvW. This build (one posted by the threadstarter) when faced with an opponent who has played the game long enough knows that there is a thief around him or her. A warrior could pound you to the ground easily and same goes with a guardian. The build also can’t even compete with a D/D Elementalist thus i abandoned this build.
But then again, what did not work for me may work with others.
Just my 50 cents on this post.
If you think farming is not fun then here’s a good list to do if you want to get your gear and not be bored while doing it.
- Do Dungeon runs for just 1 hour ( Ascalonian Catacombs / Citadel of Flame etc. )
- After 1 hour of dungeon run, 1 hour or 2 hours of WvW.
Rinse and repeat.
That way its not tedious. Pushing yourself to do things you don’t find interesting is hard but sometimes you have to do it. If you want to be a great player then you need to work on what needs to be worked at.
Currently have a Thief, Guardian and Elementalist. Thief is a nice class if you wish to play “Pick on the weakest link” or “Suprise! You just got served!” as how i say it. However if you want action to the point that you want a head-to-head battle then other classes such as a Guardian or a D/D Elementalist makes things more interesting.
Not saying Thief is stuck to such gameplay but each to his own and each class has its own unique way as to how one can enjoy killing someone may it be WvW or sPVP.
I’m running Ruby Orbs on my thief. I say its a matter of style as to how you kill. My main hand dagger gives me chance to gain might on crit, combo-ed with a nourishment(forgot the name) that gives 100% might gain upon using dodge/endurance and +40% endurance gain, I get the most of my might as it doubles my power.
If you really want recommendation I say Orbs or Divinity.
So running with Berserker gear in WvW is the thing for thieves but I can’t help but think i’m mising one important part. Took a time off in doing Fractals, WvW etc. and found that my off-hand dagger is but a hole in the concept.
Right now my dagger(s) and their sigils are as follows:
1. Mystic Spike of Strength
2. Centurion Claw of Bloodlust
3. Ghastly Dagger of Accuracy.
All daggers are skinned but all are berserker type. Their difference is the sigil. In WvW, The Centurion Claw of Bloodlust is not a good idea not unless i’d spent time killing off other creatures. The Ghastly Dagger of Accuracy was there to give me more crit chance but apparently I have plenty already to go by. Mystic Spike of Strength works great for me so its my main-hand. What would be a good sigil to use to my off-hand dagger?
There’s a quote that I live by when it comes to gaming.
" There is no such thing as spammable if no one is vulnerable to it. "
8 people against a single thief and under 10mins he was able to live? I want to ridicule you but that would be most unappropriate given that you even took the liberty of posting here so I will give proper answers.
Reason as to why (and possibly) 8 players can’t kill a single thief.
1. Your builds
- Your builds as well as the rest of the 7 players aren’t attuned to WvW compared to that thief.
2. The thief isn’t there to kill.
- I have 2 armor sets for my thief. First one is berserker. The second one is knight. The knight set was intended for fractals but apparently its working with WvW with traits running at 0/0/30/20/20 which prioritizes survivability and will last a battle for a long duration combo-ed with Bowls of Orrian Truffle and Meat Stew which gives the user 100% chance to gain might on dodge and 40% endurance refill rate.
3. You have not experience killing a lot of thieves in your gameplay in Guild Wars 2.
I have a thief and a guardian both at peak level but whenever I use my guardian I know how to eliminate a thief. Not because I know how a thief thinks but rather I know how to use my skills in conjuction as to how will my opponents think if my hits land hard. You just don’t go push a button to activate a skill. Each skill you have may it be staff or greatsword or dagger or rifle etc. has its own capability to draw out and eliminate a threat. Its up to you to know how to. Some say it can be taught but in my personal opinion, experience is still the best teacher.
nothing completes most of fractals as fast as 5 full zerk thieves with brain
I’d have to disagree on that. Thing is, if you are with random people. You don’t know if they know the rule :
" Know your role in the party and do it right ".
Its rare to get people who know what they need to do. Now i’ve ran full berserk gear on my thief in fractals and yes they do the job faster but at the same time you risk too much. Like what I posted in the P/P thread, the saying goes the same.
" You deal huge amounts of damage but you die almost instantly when someone spits at you. What good are you to us when you are dead? "
You can’t say to your party
" Oh! i’m down! Res/Rez me cause i deal more damage than any of you combined. "No, its not like that… Even if you die sure the DPS done by the party will be minimized but Rez’ing someone in the heat of the moment is not a good plan. Its best to survive and help out those who may struggle. A party functions better when everyone knows their roles and aren’t a pain in the rear.
As a thief user, I carry all my armors and my weaponry from daggers, bows, swords etc all the time consuming the starter bag and one 15-slot bag. In Fractals, I’ve used P/P a lot. Main reason is that it dishes out faster damage if I am to take out a single target without diving-in and having a chance to die. My thief is wearing berserker gear and yes I get things done as a glass cannon though as the fractal levels go higher, fighting in the fractals in close combat isn’t the right thing to do especially if you are to face a horde of grawls or dredge.
If you shadowstep to a huge pack of grawls/dredge and do your dagger storm. I’m pretty sure you’d be dead in no time.
Keep this in mind as you do fractals:
" You deal huge amounts of damage but you die almost instantly when someone spits at you. What good are you to us when you are dead? "
So been running fractals as of late and starting from Fractal 12+ The run is starting to get on my thief. Running a complete Berserker Gear, Full Ruby Orichalcum Accessories. My thief is literally just out for damage at the moment with HP of 12,805.
Traits are 0/30/0/20/20.
By far I can dodge, but I can’t dodge everything when I run out endurance and same goes with agony (no anti-agony items as of yet). Can anyone recommend a build for thieves to run better in Fractals with still a good damage and same goes a little bit of a bonus in HP and what traits and gear should I get.

I got my reply from ANet’s support and it was just full of disappointment. Now i tried to look into the issue and apparently it seems that the issue is indeed not in our mouse but rather with Guild Wars 2 itself.
How did I identify this? Here’s my lengthy explanation.
I placed 3 mouse in my desktop
1.) 3 Year old Razer Naga
2.) Newly bought a week ago Razer Naga
3.) Logitech M100r ( an ordinary mouse )
Now, my Razer Synapse which is the client / software of Razer for items such as the Naga, the settings of it when I have the issue was:
[ X-Y Sensitivity disabled ]
DPI Sensitivity 1,800
Acceleration = 5
Polling Rate 1800
Side Panel Number Bind = Default to 123
NO MOUSE BINDS
When I use any of my Razer Naga it’s having issues with the Right Click not holding and of course its frustrating especially in critical moments either PvE or WvW or sPvP. While they are both still plugged in, I used the Logitech Mouse and there are no problems. One thing that I noticed is that the logitech mouse uses the default drivers of windows thus it refers to the mouse configuration panel which is located in ‘Control Panel’ of Windows systems. My settings above are really high if you ask any ordinary user. Too much sensitivity and which is apparently Guild Wars 2’s issue. Guild Wars 2 seems to be (my theory correct me if I am wrong) getting its mouse sensitivity and other settings from the default mouse configuration and thus unable to comprehend which one to follow if you have a personal client like Razer Synapse. This gave me an idea, what if I replicate some of the default settings of an ordinary mouse.
So what I did was :
1. Remap all my Utility Skills to F1-F5 ( Did this inside GW2 Options )
2. Professional Skills Moved to letter keys ( A, D, Z, C )
3. Rebind the keys above to the numbers on the side panel of Razer Naga through Razer Synapse.
On my Razer Synapse the changes are as follows.
Enabled X-Y Sensitivity
Sensitivity Settings:
X-1500
Y-1500
Acceleration Set to 1
Polling Rate Set to 500
Restarted my computer after implementing the settings and now my Razer Naga(s) are working perfectly again. Now ANet may say that it’s not the game’s issue. Apparently it is the game’s issue in my perspective. Other games out in the market are working fine with Razer’s products may it be First Person Shooter types or another popular MMO out in the market aside from WoW.
Overall, I would say that the game is not able to accept the following if you have a gaming mouse like Razer Naga or Logitech Gaming mouse(s) or any extravagant gaming mouse.
1. Number Key Macro
2. High(er) Polling Rate
3. Higher Sensitivity Value(s).
So far my Razer Naga got me back into action. Having this gaming mouse kept me at a good edge with any player that I face.
@ArenaNet
Kindly check on the compatibility of Guild Wars 2 with gaming mouse(s). These mouse(s) are not a bang for a buck price and also as you aim for E-Sport-ing the PvP, products such as mice/mouse like Razer Naga, Logitech G600 and Gaming Keyboards from Steelseries, Razer and Logitech will surely be a thing for hardcore gamers. Please don’t let us down. I’ve played your game years and so as the others. You can check my account as to how dedicated I am to your game. I bought the collector’s edition, my account is binded to my Guild Wars 1. I love the game and I would love it more if you could help us out with such issue.

" Its not your cup of tea. "
Try the other classes. I have a thief but i’m building a guardian. I know the cons of both and their advantages but that did not stop me from having fun in their own ways possible.
Those attacks took more than a second. Betting he really pulled what I call the Mad Hatter Rabbit Trick. Its something I call to the thief’s eye-popping-what-the-heck moment in WvW.
What i’m thinking here is like what stof.9341 stated the traits are possibly like that. As a thief myself I do get my chances of doing such attack. Same goes if I face a fellow thief it’s like a battle in the Wild West. The one who draws the fastest is the winner.
What I really think that contributed a lot to your quick death are either of the following:
- Nourishment that increases Power and/or Precision
- Might Stack ( may come from a sigil or buffed before he did the strike )
Though I maybe a thief, i just hope this does not discourage you. I faced a lot of elementalists in WvW and there are some who are to be reckoned with. Just keep playing and you’d get used to dealing with us thief players and you’d get us one way or the other. We’re not immortal.

I submitted my ticket regarding about this issue. Just to let everyone know, I’m using a Razer Naga which is around 2-3 years of age from the time I bought it. When I encountered this issue in GW2, I tried other online games and I don’t have a problem. I tried other PC game titles such as the popular FPS out in the market and it works superb. Thinking that it is my mouse drivers I updated my mouse drivers. I also re-installed Guild Wars 2 but still the same issue. I decided to turn-off Razer Synapse which is the application for Razer users to do the macro for their unit/product but the issue persisted. Not giving up, I decided to step-out and buy another Razer Naga. Now I have two Razer Naga(s) and the new one is ‘experiencing the same issue’. It is now impossible to say that it is the hardware that is the problem. I’ve gone to huge lengths to the point that I bought a new one even when my present one is still working great.
So please developers, help us out here. It seems that the game itself has issues with gaming mouse(s) not only with Razer and Logitech but as what I have read in this thread, it is happening to any popular or semi-popular gaming mouse that is sold in the market. We bought such piece of hardware to enhance our gaming experience as we enjoy the game at the comfort of our homes but the issue is so infuriating and frustrating as it happens most of the time during critical moments may it be PvE or PvP.
