Wall caps are a bit overpowering stability. battles have become smashing one group into another as theres no cc dance and typical push, pull back, push, outsmart, win.

Glad you’ve been having fun. Its been great facing off against you all BG had been around 3rd or 2nd place most weeks for the upcoming weeks. BG is an odd creature. When theres somethign cool in wvw, we go all out. Otherwise, we lay somewhat dormant. I’d say the fights aren’t super far off. BG had a huge lead in the weekend as we always do. but have had help from ET to maintain ourselves throughout the week. I say the matchups were rather well made. Was jsut difficult to anticipate teh guild transfers off of YB.

not being able to play because there are too many people is the most ridiculous thing to have to deal with. player side and business side. its like living in the woods and saying “i can only cut these 5 trees down for my lifetime so i better conserve”. i feel like gw2 is the communist kid at school every other capitalist mmo thinks is wierd.

thats a fair concern. Eotm was supposed to be this very purpose. But can sometimes feel irrelevant. Maybe if they applied something more useful to the borderlands, instead of just supplies at spawn for your main bl, it would be more beneficial and interesting. like a tier specific eotm, where people could still fight eachother more, but instead of ppt, made like, free golems spawn, and dragon/turtle banners, or sped up keep upgrades or something.

Thanks brother My fries were a bit unsalted. I can comprehend your negativity and with the sarcasm “community”. But who knows, we may get paired up again. Or we’ll be facing the wonderful people of Et. Or rooting for them in a different matchup.

In the end it doesnt matter. Many of us at BG and ET aren’t just being friendly because we’re matched up. Although negativity wouldn’t have been productive either.

We, Both BG and ET, are this way because we’re in a game mode we love, and we’re having fun seeing all the new faces, strategies, and kittenery. So when our COMMUNITY does split, we’ll still be rocking and having a good time. Both servers learning more from eachother and becoming more competitive each day.

I have now logged over 13 hours trying to get into WvW and still a no go for me. Granted that is not straight time, but i can only play at certain times and I will NOT enter borderlands as they are pathetic attempts at WvW maps (great if they were PvE though).

I hope you all have a great time and this isn’t a whine thread at all. I am glad ANET is trying something and we are (forcible) guests on your alls tier so I expected to wait a long time, but this has gone past ridiculous. Have fun and fight well. I am not going to be trying anymore to get in. Best wishes to both conjoined servers!!!

I should also mention, I got down to single digits two times:

First time: #3 in queue…5 seconds later 10 in queue, 1 minute later 34 in queue, within 5 minutes back to 73 in queue (after waiting 4 hours)

Second time: #7 in queue about 20 seconds later went to 24, within 3 minutes went back up to 53 in queue.

Sure, this is gonna require us to make changes to our group compositions and probably the builds we run as well but I’m sure we’ll manage (Those condi blobs doe O.O). I, for one, am liking what I’m seeing and all for building bridges and to the very least give it a chance! While being in your TS we’re already coming up with names for our alliance haha! (Black Eredon or Team TeBG anyone?)

While ET doesn’t bring a huge amount of people to the table (maybe ~50-60 regulars; as in people playing at least once or twice a week), we are persistent, determined and generally good at what we do and we had to. We are accustomed to being outnumbered; after all, it’s one of our motos … “Outnumbered? Yes please!” Most importantly, we are fun loving people who are looking for a fun time in WvW but winning is also nice! Most ET guilds have rallies on Mondays and Tuesdays nights (not counting reset night) and we also have monthly rally weeks where we focus on WvW. We also hold regular PvE, PvP and WvW events that we would be very happy to have you join!

This one is the most significant. We’ve been seeing this kind of character and determination thus far from you and are loving it. We’re glad to have you as our server allies

@BeepBoopBop and @James Rustler you both show different perspectives. BeepBoopBop, we need to understand the mentality that our fellow t8 server has had. WvW was a game mechanic that they didnt want to queue for, they wanted to get in and play. James Rustler, for T1, wvw having queues meant that we had numbers, and if we had numbers, we were doing well. The mentality is different, and i know it sucks for you guys, like in all honesty, i can understand why you’re upset. But we have ways around it in T1. We coordinate around raid times. If you’re guild wishes to be on EBG at a raid time, let us know. we can’t control the pugs But im certain many guilds wouldn’t mind laying off of the EBG to give out some of the queue. I’m not meaning to make your stance seem negative, it is crumby to have this change all of a sudden. I’m just hoping that BG can help ET enjoy the best of the situation. It is a rather good one. these changes are exciting and new, and i think we can all agree that from the long standing lack of attention to wvw anet gave us, that any attention thus far is a step in the right direction.

tldr; BG sees queues as “yay we have people on, we kicken kitten , cant wait to get in”. ET sees queues as “i just wanted to get on and play, and now i have to wait”. Both are different perspectives to a similar problem, that we all just want to get on. But with some coordination, we can get that everyone gets their fair share of the maps. It’s easy with a server like BG because we are highly guild oriented.

I’d like to meet with ya’ll from ET to help talk some of these things out. We have a lot of very large groups and i’ve been looking up some of the guilds from ET. DoD looks like a kitten force. need to look up more of them.

We can handle their T1 blobs, if you can help us handle their alliances. Together we’ll have very interesting mixed fights as the BG force is busy keeping em distracted at garri, and lets say you go ahead and take all their towers, keeps, and 15-20+ force groups

good discussion so far. I’m going to ask though from both sides to not belittle peoples concerns. We are in the servers we are because we each saw queues, wvw, and ppt differently. BG is going to have an easier time accustoming to it because what is now is closer to what we like. our goal in BG should be to help ET enjoy the game we do and show them how badarse it is to be working with us towards kicking yb and jq

I’ve gone through some of the forum posts seeing a lot of people upset about queues and server identity. I feel like the next week or 2 will be rough, but not impossible. There is currently a lot of hype for wvw and a lot of old guilds and individuals are waking up to jump on. This is partly the reason for queue. next is the fact that BG is a guild oriented server, and reset night is when we are ALL scheduled in. Later on in the week our coverage alternates as different guild groups take up different times, resulting in much shorter queues.

Having our server primarily worked off of guild composition, it allows us to organize wvw quite diversely. We would love to open a forum with the community of ET to organize this better.

A few have expressed that their identity as a server feels diminished. I beg to differ. BG would love your support and help,, it would be wonderful to hop onto ts together and communicate with all the new allies what our strategies are and how each of us play, and put it to best use.

This post is to work on making this work. Even if you dont believe it will, it seems like this is the way it is and having only negativity will only make things worse. If we be a little optimistic and communicate I think it can be a lot of fun We both have a lot to learn from eachother, in terms of strategy and play. T1 tactics are being mixed up with your tier tactics and the vice versa. We’ll need your help in combating both. So down below, post your concerns, your remarks, but always, post some kind of solution. BG is excited to work with you. So lets go ahead and get to it

I’m really happy that I’ve paid money to be forcibly removed from the place I wanted to be and put into a place that is as unplayable as most Early-Access Survival games on Steam. Here’s the kicker, on top of that, a lot of the people on the server we’ve been assimilated into are actually quite rude. I guess if I were a masochist that hated my own existence I would praise the patch. People being condescending to me and my friends, for free!

The WvW team must be history connoisseurs, this is a pretty accurate replication of the Americans colonization west into the US, converting or ending anything in their way.

Though I hate to break it to you, I don’t want your blobs and your salt. I prefer my cozy little land back on ET. This is honestly not fair. (inb4 Infraction because of the truth) Just don’t link T1 Servers, link smaller population servers with similar servers, so there is no culture shock that ensues.

I’m very sorry you experienced salt. I promise that is not the majority. I welcome you and any ET to run with my guild as it would be fantastic to run with you all please be a bit patient with queues. reset nights are always like that. It dies out typically right after reset and i promise the changes of t1 fights and coordinating with other large groups can be a wonderful change if you keep an open mind. BG has no problem working with any of their new server mates and we hope we can be clear in aiding you in any accommodations. We are highly a guild oriented server, so we often queue maps with some of larger guilds. That also means we have specific raid times we can move around and avoid said queues. I think with some communication we can orient ourselves to work best together. That being said as a guild oriented server, if you get salt from someone with a guild tag. We police that. Many guilds will not stand for that blatant salt/rudeness, especially to our new oncoming allies. Let us know and we can deal with it accordingly to the situation.

the queues are preliminary. Everyone’s wanting to come back and get on and try it out. the hype train will diminish. Until then, stay frosty doing this brings fights all around to everyone. the matchups will balance out eventually to those who are super queued, will get lower populations with even less queues.

OH HI! Bear here. so lets go over a bit of the things.

1. Trex does a fairly good job of doing what they do. Are their tactics a bit guerrilla and annoying, yes, but i’d take that over arrowcarts any day. You play the fights you know you can win for certain. But will tend to avoid the fights where there is a gamble. You can understand why some people would get salty. But I like using Trex as the boogie man to keep squirrels from squirreling, so its all kay.

some things that aren’t kay are some of the pvf thats going down…so lets start!

You and I both know that XVX comps are around large fights. Its our guilds job to handle the larger forces. So when you face a few XVX havocing around on our off hours, its expected that they, one, wont be used to fighting that kind of battle. and two, have the appropriate gear or builds for it. The same as Trex won’t run face first into us, is the same reason why a few of us won’t run face first into you. We’re two different species in the habitat of wvw, and we each bring our part.

second, cinnaBAE and i aren’t friends….we’re lovers! jk jk…but i messaged a random trex one day, and found out they aren’t kitten human beings. its a good time. all salt aside, i like my oceans fresh and filled with babes.

So these videos…were the days before they fixed waypoints. you guys even said the strategy was lame. you guys can burst out damage and took out our backline. fair strat, but dont boast that around because i’ve got videos of us with our smaller force wiping you, after we agreed to no more traps. and note, that isn’t a boast. forces wipe eachother all the time. just cause you killed my force once, doesnt mean its a consistent thing.

our warrior lead is a different individual, who is very skilled, wonderful, and a sex god. All things XT is, but for a different class. dropping banners is a strategy set up in zerg fights. your smaller fights dont have them that often, but its key in maintaining a battle when the enemy gets the jump on you. I understand that you have salt, but no need to describe the many skilled and wonderful players in XVX as “zerglings that only press 1”. Theirs much more to it, and yeah, we have a couple of people who are in their 70’s who do kind of do that. But we love them. and they’re adorable.

tldr; kitten Trex, you and i both know our guilds have much more respect for eachother. both you (@chorazin) and XT have just been a bit salty. which is kay. :p but keep the insults to eachother. Because our guilds each do great jobs at what they’re meant to do. and you know it’d be silly to say XVX has no skill and just blobs, as its just as silly for me to say trex has no skill and just picks fights with 1 person.

XD now now. no hate. no server held their garri for reset. yb had theirs flipped. JQ had theirs flipped. BG had theirs flipped. I think we all just went for eachothers stuff that we forgot to defend any of our own XD. Congrats on the garri.

depends on the game play you’re playing.

guardian in wvw, roaming with groups less than 15, go marauder is a pretty good, with 15 or more, go for wanderers or pvt.

if roaming with small groups, meditation, going 2,2,2 in valor and call it a good day.

if with large groups, make sure you have altruistic healing, 2,2,1 in valor only thing that makes the guardian sustainable in wvw. without it, you might as well stop playing.

thats logical. (and now i need more words to allow me to post)

I dont think many people posting give YB their credit. what pugs? I’ve been fighting organized BOO, DOC, OnS, Roll and plenty more. they have a lot of organized guilds, so dont give me that “oh we have 4 people in a ts, the commander and his 3 buddies, while the other 30 on him are just alone not communicating at all”. That happens somewhat on ebg, for ALL servers. But i wouldnt call an organized group like OnS and the rest as pugs.

BG has been enjoying the fights we’ve been getting from yb and jq. and its understandable to build siege when you’re defending something. It just gets tedious when its overdone, and then no reward. I’ve laid siege on a fire keep for several hours as they coutnered every catapult, treb, ram with their own cata, treb, and arrowcarts. After finally breaking through outer and inner, everyone ported out. This wasnt 5 people, this was 30+. Just peaced out. Granted the force we had was larger, understandable, but at least keep fighting till you die, dont just say nope. Pull back if you need to to a choke and keep trying to hold off. Dying does nothing really negative.

side note:

anet needs to have like wvw specific legendaries, or even armor drops that are useful.

Also, make winning the week rewarding. you log in hours on a bl, you take things, kill things. have that statted up, to where at the end of the week, if you win first place, depending on how much you capped, killed, defended, etc. you’re eligible for a specific tier of toys. second place, same thing, but a slightly lesser tier, and so on.

The approach I’ve seen from JQ/BG was siege was used to counter siege. Build rams, you’d see an arrowcart or a treb to counter that. The enemy placed an arrowcart to take care of your arrowcart or treb, you build a ballista. This was ok. This was logical and it became a mini game of breaking into a keep. They build a lot of siege on one side, rush another side.

But we face a problem with the new maps and YB. The new maps have tunnel neck points of entry. Firekeep has 2 gates to inner, but both gates can be defended easily. This allows YB to place a lot of siege eliminating that minigame. This problem furthers with YB. Once you break into the keep, where as JQ or BG will place maybe 1 or 2 defensive ac’s typically, they would rush down and fight it out in lords room or in the stairs coming up. YB will have 5 arrowcarts on each side, 2 shield gens, and a ballista.

This initially was a pain in the kitten but has spread to other servers. Now all servers must build that kind of defense, because if you dont, then you get YB building Ac’s every 15 steps towards lords, siege creeping you out.

There are many wonderful guilds on YB that give great fights. Several that use amazing strategies which although a pain in the kitten , are totally commendable [shout out to T-rex]. But then you get the guilds that will just siege creep for days, when they’re even numbered. not much fun.

I believe that YB can be a great server to face off. When fighting against ONS, BOO, etc, and there is no siege, the fights are never really a one push deal. its this back and forth that entertains us all.

I know many YB’rs who hate the siege kittening. So i speak to you. be proactive in your communities to put it down. Its not a getting on a high horse, but more of a realization that losing a keep or tower with a good fight is still a win.

tldr; YB stop placing so much kitten siege. Its great, you can hold a keep forever and ever. But you’re not acclimating to your highest potential of some great fights. I get it when the enemy runs big. place siege down. But the enemy isn’t ALWAYS bigger than you. :P so avoid the siege more often.

P.S. > dont siege paper keeps so intensely. Its paper. Flip that for days on end.

Anet, seriously take a poll, realize how this is a mistake. If you alter these things a huge core group of players will just peace on out. Give us the money back for the expansion because if this is how you’ll be treating so many of your players (oceanic/sea) then I don’t want to bother doing business with you any longer.

Now I’m not here to throw insults, I’m not here to call anyone cheaters or zergers, im here to play the game.

i get a little disappointed, from all the servers, including my own, when people seem to have nothing better to do than blame their defeats on something. I say I had an excellent fight against FA in the keep. We have been holding off wave after wave and you guys have gotten close on multiple occassions.

So i tip my hat off to you all. We did a good job holding you off and I hope this stands as a representation that the CD server is not dead. We will hold strong and keep giving you guys good fights expecting the same in return.

As for these “forum warriors” I apologize. You will find angry kittens on every server. They will brag when we win, and complain about “HAXXOR” when we lose. Regardless of all of this, a lot of CD is happy about the hills keep battles tonight and have loved fighten against ya.

Shout out to PRO, awesome job guys! I get a little annoyed by how man bunker ele’s you have, but i commend you for the awesome way you guys manage em.

I honestly feel like the spell’s function is literally just to push people back. Its a nice spell, but i really wish it could block some siege such as the elementalist’s “whirling winds”.
