Hey guys,

I love the idea that you are adding more and more jumping puzzles.
Those are for me the one special thing to looking foward to compared to other MMOs and honestly I could play GW2 only for jumping puzzles if you made the game around them (im not saying you should…)

Give more jumping puzzles. Its awesome, sometimes frustrating but its the one thing that gives me the feeling of accomplishment in your game. MOAR JUMPIES!

Thanks.

What shoulders are these?

The Lost Shores event shoulders, just search for skins in the TP.

Like you can preview skins in the TP.
So what are they called?

You know the number of times I’ve been left with no reward from a dungeon glitch is so high, I think it’s really unfair to reimburse people for this event when others of us should have many hundreds more dungeon tokens and chest rewards that we’ve lost out on due to ArenaNet bugs.

Thats plain and simple. You can do dungeons again. You cant do Karka event again since its “one time only event”.

What is this?

Warriors – heavy armor + highest health pool
Guardians – heavy armor + they are pretty much immortal so they dont really need high health pool

That heavy armor makes a huuuuge difference.

Clearly the “tech” guys didnt played too much the game.

or you people hating the game are the minority. Ever thought about that?

Yea, no I think Fenrirs thing makes more sense

well, how many people are on the forum? 25% at most? How many of those hate the game with a passion? 15%? Then how many people are actually playing it and enjoying it or thinking that it’s a good game after playing it for a while and moving on to play something else, just to come back to it months later? 85%? Really this game sold 6 million copies. I am happy with it. I’m seeing a lot of in game community being happy with it. I’m not seeing the forum users as a majority there. Really by the sales and being a quickly rising second most popular MMO after WoW I would say that it’s more likely that the complainers are a minority.

I also like to pull out random numbers from my sleeve to back up my theories
Look, I am 26, so that means the planet is 8000 years old.

Its nice that the game sold 6 mil copies. But some of those copies were ppl from my guild, my friends, my family. I am the only one who at least logs in once in a while. Other ppl here see the same trend. So dont tell me that only few % are unhappy.

If we have 25% coming to forums and 15% of them hating it so we can expect the same ratio from ppl that dont come to the forums. So out of 75% 45% not liking it. In total that makes 60% out of total not liking the game and thats more than a half. (NOTE I think this is waaay too much, but just because I think that the game has issues doesnt mean I “hate” the game").

Thank you!

It at least serves the purpose of demonstrating that there are people enjoying the game to people who check out the forum for the first time. That’s something you wouldn’t expect based on the majority of posts here.

Perhaps, MageHeart, to make it more “constructive”, you could list more, specific things you think are working really well in the game.

That’s, surely, as constructive as the posts listing the things that people think are broken.

We know about the good things that work in the game. Those things are pointless to discuss because well if it werent for those things nobody would really play the game. Discussing things that are without issue is pointless. Nobody will change them because they work just fine.

We need to focus on things that are not good, broken and causing issues for players. Those things need to be bought up to attention, discussed, adressed and fixed.

Congrats Arena.Net!

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

A repetitive activity becomes a grind when the enjoyment derived from it ceases. It’s a grind when you’re not doing it for the fun of it anymore; you’re doing it only for the rewards involved.

So by definition 90% of GW2 is grind unless you enjoy griding itself. (cause then you are having fun while doing so and so its not grind anymore)

And I pretty much agree with everything you said. I quit about 2 months ago after i did all jumping puzzles, completed all dungeons, finished 100% map completion and finished my dungeon gear. After that there was really no point in playing for me.

Then Karka came, I jumped in for few days, and after the event nothing really changed its the same boring thing.

I miss “sense of progression” some drive..something that would make me log in because I would have some goal..other than “kill 1000 skirt” -.- that aint no achievement…

The thing is, how will they know who Dcd during the event and who didn´t when they can´t even check logs and give a refund when someone accidentally buy something that isn´t for their class? The only solution I can see them doing is give something to EVERYONE cause I really dont think they know exactly which accounts dcd during the event. That´s the hard truth.

I am quite positive that the logs are very detailed and can show you who got DCed during the event. There is a different thing between logging out and being disconnected since logging out is done from the user and being disconnected is from the server/client.

I think it takes so long to actually give us our rewards because they need to go so into the detail to determine who is eligible to get the reward and who isnt.

I completly understand the devs since november i have only seen posts of ‘gear grind’ ‘broken promises’ ‘gw2 dieing only fotm has players’. In the ama they anwserd these things and i dont see the use of anwsering it again.

How about question about broken dungeons? How about guesting feature? How about guild improvements? How about all the issues with professions, necros, elementalists and so many others? How about all the issues with overflow servers? How about TP things that are not working as intended? How about hundreds of other things that me and thousands of others created threads for just to have “fan boys” coming in saying “give them some slack” but without any feedback from any community representatives or devs?

Yes, moderators are here to moderate the forums. Thats fine. But they do have community representatives. Those do not moderate forums. Those sole purpose is to communicate with the community.

I didnt make this up, it was ANet philosophy since the beginning. They said interaction with the community is the KEY to success. I agreed with that approach and I still do. However apparently lately we have a very different opinion on what interaction is.

Somebody above mentioned if we would rather have daily update on issues saying “this fix didnt work we are working on new one.” And stuff like that. It doesnt have to be daily, weekly update would be fine. There are many issues with this game (there are plenty of stuff in this game that are perfect too!) and community is coming to these forums to let the GW2 employees know about them with hopes that they will be noticed, worked on and fixed.

One 2 hours session in two months where one representative answers few selected questions (and sometimes answers one question few times to kill the time) that just fit in their agenda is not my idea of healthy interaction with community.

GW2 employees prouded themselves on having great relationship and interaction with the community, which was true before launch and shortly after the launch. But not in past weeks.

Name another MMO where there’s been more communication. I’ll give you a hint – it’s not WoW, EQ2 or Rift. I see posts from devs here daily.

Other MMOs didnt start building their game and introducing new features based on communication with the community as much as GW2 did. I see here devs daily too, but replying only to “we love you ANet threads”, not to actual issues ppl are reporting.

Because I want them sitting here, all day, talking with us about what it is they’re doing instead of actually doing it. They have a huge update coming out in 11 days for Wintersday – I IMAGINE they’re working on that.

And frankly, I’ve seen more dev posts on these forums than I have for WoW, EQ2 or any other MMO I’ve played.

The last HUGE patch they added had nothing useful, mate.

Lost Shores was nothing useful? Are you out of your mind?

And what usefull did it bring?
One time event that received as much hate as I have yet to see in any MMO history (dont get me wrong, the idea behind the event was great, but the execution was worse than poor)
Half finished zone thats pretty much dead right now with no incentive to go there.

I will give them the dungeon (which im not even doing) but also the leveling system there and the ascended items brought more negative feedback than positive.

Maybe if they have discussed this with us, community, they would have not done these things so poorly. They would be happy cause we would play the game and we would be happy because it would turn out right.

Hey guys,

I have been to these forums since the day 1 it came out. At the beginning I saw A LOT of feedback from the devs and community managers to different threads regarding pretty much any aspect of the game. I loved that because it really felt like the devs are reading the feedbacks and really want us to help them make the game better. That was such a refreshing thing compared to what I experienced in SWTOR.

And also I remember the quality of players feedback being much better due to that because players really felt that by providing their feedback they can make a difference.

For past few weeks however, the only interaction we have with devs and community managers is thought thread locks, reminders to “keep this thread flame free” and in some cases notification that either you msg has been deleted and u get one black point or your msg has been moved to different thread.

The only actual replies you can find are to threads like “Hey Anet guys I love you and love this game.”…with reply “Hey player X we love you too thanks for your support, see u in game!”

I have yet to see some real quality feedback from the devs in here in past few weeks that would make me feel like my feedback could make a difference again.

Where did they go? Why they dont talk to us anymore? What happened to “community is #1 priority for us”?

Let this be a reminder to you guys working on this game. If you dont show interest in our feedback, there will be no point providing one. And you might think about how come the quality feedback provided by players on these forums went so downhill.

Regards,
Looria

GW2 Endgame - Level 80 Now What?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Looria.8019

Looria.8019

PS – When you have the itch to play (for a reason other than the item treadmill), you might try doing the jumping puzzles that lead you to a chest. It sounds like you enjoy those, and they reset daily.

Problem is its not rewarding. There is no incentive doing the jumping puzzles again. For some lvl 15 blue? Whats the point. It doesnt give me any specific item look I would long for, it doesnt give me better quality item, it pretty much doesnt give me anything.

On the other hand you are right. I did enjoy the game, I feel I did have much more content than for 60 bucks. However I thought when all the leveling and exploring is over, I would jump on some achievements. But achievements like “kill 1000 centaurs” are not really achievements its just mindless killing its a farm/grind. If there were plenty achievements like “get hit by falling claw of jormag after being killed” yea thats awesome achievement but unfortunately there are not many in GW2.

So yea I will come back for some content. Let me rephrase that. For some quality content, not like the lost shores island which is pretty much useless and dead and doesnt even have completion or anything.

GW2 Endgame - Level 80 Now What?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Looria.8019

Looria.8019

ahem… you asked what do other MMOs after for an endgame besides raiding and tiered gear? Well, allow me to make a short list of things that they have AND GW2 lacks:

mounts
dueling
arena (more fun that rated BGs.. if you disagree I will wager that you never managed to break 1600 in WoW and are bitter about it)
large scale “WvW” that doesnt involve hitting gates for 1 hour and running down a path
well-designed dungeons (not corpse rushes)

i am sure there is more!

And achievements where you actually feel like you achieved something. I mean dont get me wrong but killing 1k centaurs doesnt really feel like an awesome achievement.

Getting hit by falling dying Claw of Jormag thats an achievement, but unfortunately there are very few achievements like this in GW2. Most of the achievements are grind/farm type.

GW2 Endgame - Level 80 Now What?

Go to ORR (level 80 Areas), make the puzzles, make level 80 dungeons (Ex: Arah) go to World vs World, go to sPVP and hit level 80 there. You can do a lot of things in level 80.

Lets take them one by one.

Go to ORR (level 80 areas). What to do there? I have the map completed and running through gazillions of mobs and pretty much being in combat 100% of times without any real sense of direction isnt my idea of fun. But anyway, that map completed.

Make the puzzles – I have all jumping puzzles completed. I LOVED THEM. But you can do them only once to actually get some reward and there are nowhere near enough of them in game to keep me playing. (And im telling you I would log in to the game just to do some jumpies)

Make lvl 80 dungeons (like Arah). For me, since its all about looks, there is no point in doing Arah more than I did to get my shoulders. However I did finish all the paths.

Go to WvW. My server usually has almost 100% of the map occupied so there is no incentive for me to go there. I dont need money, I dont need karma and joining a zerg to play some PvDoor isnt fun either.

sPvP, I am PvE player so I do occasionally PvP but its definitely not a reason for me to log in.

So tell me now, since the whole game is endgame and I should be going back to lower zones and do events as part of my “end game”. What should I do now? If i go to lower zones, I pretty much oneshot anything, get rubbish rewards (since its all about looks the rewards will always look worse than what I have from ExplM dungeons), there are no new bosses introduced in the lower zones for me to see.

Basically, the whole game isnt endgame. The endgame is simply missing from GW2.

Edit: forgot to add that I have 100% world completion..but that was like in second week after GW2 came out.

"Progression" in MMOs

I have the best looking gear and weapons for my profession and gameplay i can get in the game (imo). Spending hundreds of hours to get something which useless stats and ugly look is not something I would call fun.

They designed the legendaries wrong. After all that farming you do, you can still only use the legendary for certain spec and certain gameplay.

But anyway, thats for another discussion. The problem is that farming hundreds of hours for an item look doesnt give you sense of character progression. It just pleases your eyes. It doesnt tell you, yea..my character progressed now and is one step closer to…something.

Please enlighten me. What actually makes legendary legendary? The staff looks ugly and reminds me of pony rainbow stuff. Why on earth would I want my character to have that?

Plus I already have exotic staff that has the same stats (actually much better, since legendaries stats are totally useless for majority of players) as the legendary so getting it wouldnt progress my character anywhere.
