I don’t understand why it was implemented to begin with in PvE. As far as I could tell everything was fine pre-patch in January.
My biggest issue with lupi is the ‘double bubble’. You stability or blink out of the first bubble and he immediately bubbles you again — and usually that time you’re screwed. It’d be fine if this was a rare occurrence but I’ve seen him do this multiple times in a row. I’ve tried to stay at max range but every time so far he just ends up chasing me around the room until he eventually gets me. (as guardian)

Some other professions have just as powerful if not more powerful instant cast targetable abilities. Mesmers chaos storm for instance is easily more powerful than enfeebling blood and has no cast time. Rangers barrage has a similar cast time to grasping dead / enfeebling blood (for the damage to start at least) yet it has a gigantic rectile, cripples and has incredible range. Despite your arguments for it being overpowered with the suggested change, I still think a lower cast time or perhaps a bigger area of effect would align these abilities more closely to what other professions have.
Anyone else find that these skills can be a pain to target with and often completely miss if you miss-judge the targeting rectile even a little a bit? I think lowering their cast time’s to near instant would help tremendously and I don’t really see how it would be overpowered. Am I the only one?
I would rather they change it so Story Mode will reward tokens too, even made a suggestion thread, but people got all pissy about the token amount.
10~20 tokesn would not be unreasonable, but also keep people from running from Explorable for an “easier run” or something.
It would encourage more players to try Story Mode and help newbies.
Then running Story Mode on every character won’t be a big deal.
They could simply just make it so only the first time through awards tokens. Though I’d still prefer account wide unlocking.
I recently just finished my ranger, he’s currently:
- Full exotic berserker armor
- Full exotic berserker trinkets
- 6/6 Runes of the Scholar
- 30 marks, 30 skirm, 10 survival
- Exotic berserker longbow w/ superior sigil of accuracy
- Exotic berserker shortbow w/ superior sigil of strength
So far I’m really digging this setup. Yes a stiff wind will kill you, but your long range domination is ridiculous. Just last night my auto attack on the longbow crit for 4500 (and that was without the 10% crit damage food). I think it was vs an upleveled player, but even still I was pretty impressed. Rapid fire routinely hits for 9k-12k. I played with the shortbow a bit as well, and combined with the sigil of strength I hit 25 stacks of might extremely fast. I’m still feeling the class out but it’s been a lot of fun thus far.
I’m using the signet of renewal + of the hunt, quickening zephyr, and rampage as one

Essentially what I’m suggesting is after you complete story mode on one character, it unlocks it for all of your other characters at the account level rather than the individual character level.
You might ask why? Well It’s because:
A. I have six 80’s
B. Tokens are not granted for story mode
C. Because tokens are not awarded, it can be difficult to find a group, even with gw2lfg. People simply don’t want to run story mode because its not very rewarding.
Had an interesting mine in cursed shores last nite, using a BL pick had 3 shots at a node and got 2 ori and then a rock,?????whats with the rock? i thought a BL pick was better then the rest seams thats been nerfed as well
Do you mean ruined ore? Its possible to get ruined ore from a node if a mob hits you exactly when you are mining. Its a bug.
I run a full valkyrie gear set (literally every piece) with runes of infiltration. I think I’m sitting at around 19k HP, and I’ve had the stealth trigger from the set a number of times, almost all of which has saved me from imminent death. That said, I still think 10% trigger point is too low, 15-25% would be a lot better. If I had any less health, I don’t think the rune set would be worth it.
I would love this ability in PvE, it is tiresome to open hero tab and switch out and hope I don’t fall in combat and not have my dagger in off hand equip. I can see the problem with PvP and WvWvW though and I think a CD to it is the same as opening your Hero tab and manually putting it in there.
+1 for out of combat weapon swap for engineers and Ele’s in PvE
LOL, you encourage people to search for infos and stuff yet you dont bother to do it yourself. It is justified why eles and engineers dont have weapon swap option, and its not really that hard to figure that out even if you havent heard why is that.
To conclude: No, no, no and once again no.
Did you even read his post? He is talking about OUT of combat switching, aka a UI improvement. The only thing his request would change is him having to manually go in and equip weapons, instead of having a single button like the other 6 classes have.
Thats the way it’s intended to be.

Yes, I am. It’s a pita, and something that’s relatively easy to fix. IIRC anet actually said at one point that if enough people want it, it can be added later. Their concern was that it would be too confusing to new players, having so many abilities.

A full set of Passion flower exotic jewelry would cost roughly 90-100g currently. The drop rates and the mats need to be tweaked.
I run a nearly identical build – with some slight modifications.
I went with clerics jewelry & carrion armor as I prefer the slightly more toughness / healing that combo provides.
I also run 10 earth/ 30 water / 30 arcane. I’m surprised you gave up the auto armor of earth unless I missed something and this skill is bugged?
Lastly, I run scepter / dagger for two reasons:
1. The extra range is nice
2. Water trident is an amazing heal, I find it to be vastly superior to cone of cold.
Number 2 is the real game changer, however I do miss the utility from dagger main hand that you lose with scepter.
Overall this build is fantastic and really makes the class more pleasurable to play.

Focusing on gear with power, vitality, and condition damage, as a lot of the damage from this build is through bleeds.
I run D/D heavily into fire / Earth and dont die that often — usually because I kill before they can kill me.
Ring of fire or Burning speed + arcane wave does insane amounts of damage. When you get overwhelmed pop into earth and do an earthquake > ring of earth > churning earth.
Also, the 10 point skill ‘Earths Embrace’ is very helpful!
For gear I stick to power / vitality / condition damage stats.
As a D/D elementalist, I typically only switch between Fire and Earth. I use air for traveling / openers. I dont find myself in water that much.
I have a decently high end system i5-2500k @ 4.5ghz and xfired 6970’s and I have had this happen to me as well. Usually lose sound as well. Specifically ride the lightning (happens a lot) and tornado.
All drivers are up to date, and running at all ultra settings.
