As an ele I would like to officially welcome Necromancers to the “OMG NERF PLS!!!11” club.
The steady stream of other classes coming to your forum to sarcastically ask how to beat you while relaying amazing stories of one necro destroying entire zergs of their best uber equipped, and skilled players will warm your heart.
Here are your “I’m not OP” hats, and bumper stickers, and your block button hair trigger for all the pvpers who will grief you about how they can’t wait till ANet nerfs you every time you win a fight.
That would be a violation of the forum rules I believe. I guess the lesson should be if someone says no exploits before you join the group you get them to clarify what they consider to be an exploit, and what they consider good tactics.
So joined a fractal group difficulty level 20. the guy said he wanted to run without exploits. Fine by me. I join up, and we go. We draw the dredge. Get to Rab, and the guy says focus the boss running in as he does, and is of course dead in 3 seconds. While we start to pull the adds out of the room.
So he shuts the group down apparently pulling the adds out of the room is an exploit. I didn’t think so, but I’m certainly no guru so what do you guys think? Is pulling an exploit?
If they are just talking about spvp I don’t know what the complaint is. You can set up an spvp character in 10 minutes.
Touch my pve performance, and ya I’ll be really kitten Ele is a pain in the kitten to level. the only two classes that are close to as hard to level are mesmer, and thief, and I think that is fair. You want the rewards of having a really excellent performing WvW, PvE character they should be harder to level.
If you want to level while checking your facebook like a guard, or ranger you shouldn’t be as awesome in the end.
But ya spvp who cares? You can completely rebuild yourself for free or you can roll something else, and be instantly back in the mix.
I haven’t noticed a difference besides a placeholder model here or there in the middle of a bunch of invisible people. Doesn’t bother me though I just consider it part of the game at this point.
It takes a little luck to get them. One really good way is to pop some AOE around a downed ally because they love running up and stealth finishing. It’s like crack to them.
I relayed one instance. I dunno like I said it’s the only time I’ve ever faced them. our guild WvW event is tonight so maybe I’ll have some more example. I will say had we been at the camp defending it we probably would have gotten smashed.
I’ve gone up against [Sekz] once with my title on. I was the guy who prompted one of you guys to come here and point out how much we love Umberglade. I had a pug zerg, but in fairness a pretty numerous pug zerg. They held us off Umberglade a while. So someone put up a treb to counter siege at Bravost, and we pushed in.
So while I’m fighting I see in map chat “Guys! back off that is [Sekz]! They specialize in open field combat”. I didn’t say anything because I know no one in Anvil Rock looks at map chat when a fight is on, but we got the camp sieged it up, and I popped guild buffs, and we went to grab our tower back that BP snagged when we were busy. Leaving only the people who were on seige.
Then the portal bomb happened, but since the zerg was over at the tower we jump popped back over, and wiped them again.
So my advice if you face [Sekz] at a camp. Put some siege bait down use your buffs if you can, and then move your zerg around the nearest hill. Should be fine.
Just had this happen in our fractals group it was lava pit. Even though the lava graphic was not up. So gnarl fractal = wasted run at the moment hope the fix is fast.
I’ve gone 3,4,5v1 against PAXA more times than I can remember, and I’ve never seen them corpse gloat. The past couple nights I’ve been fortifying bluevale on BP’s map. Poking at hills, but mainly just badge farming, and having fun. Btw kudos to BP for continuing to push for hours. Also kudos to ALS for actually making it into Hills last night lol.
Hey Shiverpeaks.. The other keep is to the north! Or there is a tower right there outside your spawn you could take easily while we had BP pinned behind a siege wall. Just saying.
A good warrior is a vital part of any good WvW group in my opinion. A good Warrior/Guardian/D/D ele as a group can mess up a mini zerg karma train in a hurry.
Absolutely. I remember when your alliance was forming up, and I’m sure you do to. The main concern the community had was whether or not you guys were attempting to set up a WvW dictatorship. To you guys credit you went to great lengths to prove that is not the case. Even offering from time to time to follow whoever wanted to lead with your commander titles, and it worked out.
It’s a great server to have medium sized or smaller guild like eXo because the bigger guilds don’t crap on you, and they don’t try to poach your members. The guilds that have struggled, and eventually transferred are the larger ones who think they are going to become the dominant force on the server, and bristle at seeing another guild tag running with their force or try to shame them into joining a “real guild”.
Eventually they wind up with no support, and groan about how the server “turned it’s back on them”.
Well in the interest of full full disclosure it has been my experience that Anvil Rock frowns on transfers in general. I wouldn’t come in as a guild unless you are prepared to work with the community that is here already. If you think you’re going to come in and run the show I wouldn’t bet on it unless you’re just uber enough to dominate Borlis, and Shiver on your own. As has been stated already the server can be a little over loyal at times.

Cmon ppl where is the competitive forum warriors? Surely BP in the lead doesn’t make everyone a sad panda? No winner is decided until the last hour! Last round BP came back then lost by a hair to AR, was a great match. I know NSP can pull out great numbers to defend(I remember from the failed golem rush recently lol) and we know AR can walk all over NA primetime. Get it into gear ppl!

I haven’t encountered this maybe it’s something particular to the server you’re on I have no problem finding groups for anything. I was in a fractals 20 group last night that had a disconnect leaving two eles and two guards to 4 man the gnarl fractal, and we pulled it off. Didn’t even have a wipe on the imbued flame shaman (We did lose all the captives twice at the first stage though.) and this was a pug
The only Arah explore group I’ve been in also had 2 eles. I haven’t done every path in every dungeon, but I’ve done at least 2 paths in every dungeon, and have no problem.
Either way if you want to come to Anvil Rock and join eXo we’ll run all the dungeons you want.
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve used lightning flash to set off churning earth/earthquake/ring of fire/arcane wave in the middle of an enemy zerg. Likely before I’ve even rendered. The sub level 80’s drop, the glass cannons have 20% health, burning, and 10 stacks of bleed. The tanks are usually alright. Still it’s a great spearhead attack combo.
WM is great. We have no business being on the same tier with them. Or they have no business being on a tier with us depending on how you look at it. Either way it’s a mismatch, and mismatches are boring.
That’s not a dig on WM by the way just the way it is as long as there are free transfers every once and a while a server will roll through the tier, and make for a boring week.
I switched to Elemental Shielding recently hoping to use it with Zephyr’s Boon so that every aura i used would grant me fury, swiftness, and protection. But when I’ve used it the stats for my protection don’t kick on. Picture one is my stats with protection, and fury from switching to Earth. Picture two show’s the fury, swiftness, and protection icons but the protection buff doesn’t show up in the stats. Just the crit chance buff from fury. The same thing seems to happen when I cast Armor of Earth.
Is this designed limitation, or just a stat listing glitch, or a glitch that is keeping protection from applying?
Just off the top of my head. Maybe every keep drops a chest every 3 hours like dragon events. Garrisons, and SM have higher rare, exotic, and (eventually) ascended chance. Even higher chance can be assigned to the medal ranks a player receives in WvW events. Or the total amount of towers, and camps a server holds. I realize it would be possible for people to just pop in grab the chest, and leave. It should be possible to determine if someone did that, and give them a chest full of blues like when someone pops in when Jormag is at 10%. Even if they do it still give the whole serve incentive to act to defend their holdings or nobody gets anything.
Doesn’t even have to be every three hours could be like twice a day or something.
I’ve had a great deal of fun with this match up. Nice to see how the other side lives from time to time. My guild even had time to make like 7 Asura King (blank) Rat characters and run them around ET border land jumping up and down and screaming for cheese.
So many lulz. Getting a lot of badges too. Had a few epic battles. One particularly good tower defense on our part, and alot of open field combat which is music to a D/D ele like myself.
