Actually this game is all about the cosmetic items, otherwise why get a legendary, new armor, or bother to mix and match armor, have a mini, buy anything from the gem store, or have weapon/armor skins at all???? Some people don’t care, very few I’d argue. The bulk of people like their character to look good!

Legendary has higher stats so there goes that one. And a title that everyone will have is not the same as armor skins. Many people buy minis just to auction them off later. I care about cosmetic to a point. All these items will be very easy to obtain and not tradeable. I’m sure there will be an option to upgrade to deluxe later on. My point still remains. IF you don’t care about cosmetic, or at least the cosmetic items included, and we ignore the slot, for reasons stated in original post; we are paying $50 for $50 in gems.

Just another complaint in the sea of anger.

If you were confused by the title what I am saying is this: If the expansion came with a free slot (which it should) with the game and not as a pre-order bonus, the ultimate edition is giving you cosmetic items (which a ton of people don’t care about) and $50 dollars worth of gems for $50. So if you are buying it thinking you are saving money… you aren’t.

This will only be a good deal if they do not include a slot to the expansion (again, as part of it like every time they added a class in GW1, and not a pre-order bonus).

When HoT was announced I was extremely happy. Then no new race (tengu!!!), or weapons (polearms on ground!!!!) so I was a bit bummed but still planned on dishing out for the best package to show that I still support them. But after this I won’t. I might get just the expansion and delete one of my toons for the revnant or I may just go play another mmo and just log in here for bonuses til they get their act together.

I don’t think I’ll be pre-purchasing either. I was on the fence due to money, $50 for an unknown, even with relatively good track record for entertaining me over the last 2+ years, is a bit steep though not completely unreasonable. But that’s not the primary reason.

When the announcement came, I immediately did the math after realizing there was no character slot in the base. I felt like I’m being forced to buy the most expensive edition since it is obviously the best deal. But I don’t need another title. I don’t want another mini. Glider skin? Finisher? With the character slot already included, do I really even need 4000 gems?

Then I saw that the base game is included in the HoT download. Where’s the equivalent exchange? Then I discover it’s not actually included if you already own GW2. What was the point of the sales on GW2 for the last six months? This forced me to take pause.

Veteran players ought to get something. It’s not something for nothing. It’s something for years of support; monetary and word of mouth. It’s something for keeping the game alive for so many years. It’s something for keeping Anet in business and providing them the resources necessary to create this XPac.

And finally, the FAQ edit just seems sleazy. I’m not making accusations or trying to cast aspersions, but to make an edit that completely contradicts the message for the last half year, with no mention of recourse or even understanding, has put my willingness to buy HoT on permanent pause.

Here’s the kicker. If you took out the free slot (since it shouldn’t be a bonus, it should be there period) You are paying 50$ for 4000 gems which is a savings of 0$. So the only bonuses you are getting are the cosmetics.

Thanks on behalf of new players (not me, been here from the start) for throwing in the core game. It’ll make it really easy to get them in. That being said, where is our character slot for the standard expansion? Should have been a no brainer. Regarldess of if we are new or old you guys should have thrown that in there. Also, if we assume that a free slot should have been given for free, that means we aren’t getting a discount for the ultimate edition’s gems. I’ve played many mmos and pre-ordering expansions are usually a great time to offer good deals. You guys are losing a lot of faith from many of us. Please, add a free slot to the expansion. It should come with it whether purchased now or next year. It should not be a pre-order bonus. That being said, you guys need to work some more on your higher tier bonuses. Really anything I can think of could easily be replaced by gems. Get creative.

They should call it the Alluring Alpaca since it’s only a couple feet tall xD

Really surprised I didn’t. Got into the core game’s beta fairly early on. I’d go on about playing since EGA and how I’ve spent loads on the cash shop… but that is entitled attitude. I’ll wait for mine that I’ll hopefully get. Enjoy guys.

I’m disappointed. I’ve been saving my ranger class for the tengu. They have a big chunk saved for them which they have big gates that lead into the zone. It’s been sitting there, waiting for them to work on it xD. Since it took so long for them to finally decide on making an xpac I figured they’d have work on it by now. Got to say… I had my expectations high for an expansion. I really was expecting a new race, a new class, and a few new weapon types.

Is it me or does the search bar not work? I type in “lunar” and there are zero results. Just saw the sticky.

Anyways, I’m really irritated that they ended this suddenly with no warning. More irritated about that than the fact I had to do loathsome pvp (dragonball) to get a laurel. Anyways, more to the point, I had dozens of lucky envelopes waiting for the last day so I could pile on the boosters and burn through them. Just wanted to get a good gauge on the drop rate. Instead I had to use them today with a good 40% missing (~255% instead of ~295% with lunar buffs).

Yeah I loathe pvp ( get really frustrated ) Even when I was topping matches and going without dying I still was kittened that I had to do this pvp game to get my daily and consequently, my laurel. I really wish there was another daily pve option. Maybe fire off the fireworks (not the static ones on the maps) or maybe let us set up firecrackers around different cities or districts. Just hate pvp… even when I do well.

Stuck on this as well. Surprised this is still broken.

I would love to play this on a game pad. Tera felt amazing with my 360 controller.

This would have been handy for the valentine’s day flower item.

I just want a convenient progress indicator on the side so I can see how I am doing at a glance.

Out of combat weapon swap… I can get behind this. Anything that makes the game smoother without being diluted.

I have no idea what I am talking about? laughs at his ignorance I am pretty sure the devs didn’t want their game glitchy. I know what the glitch did… I used it occasionally.

So you want a glitch that should have never been there to begin with… back into the game…? Why not break the necros and mesmers again?

Yeah my girlfriend just hit 30 too. She is very upset about this. Hasn’t even logged on in the past two days because of it.

Yeah… I nearly picked one up to send to my girlfriend’s main. Then I saw that they were account bound and I was completely blown away. Why would they make something that is a gift… on a day that most people give gifts… impossible to give…? Really silly imo… could have been a big seller.

I, along with many of my guild mates, loathe any type of pvp. We are strongly suggesting that you remove the WvWvW aspect from the monthly.

I understand you put it in there to encourage more people to play it… but that is unfair towards us non-pvpers. I have done all the monthlies from launch til december… (except for a couple weeks waiting for my account issues to be resolved during launch) and I refuse to do it any longer.

With the introduction of the currency obtained through weekly and monthlies I hope that you use the system you plan on adding to the weekly, to the monthly. I would like a list of 6 things to accomplish with only 4 being required. This way WvWers can get credit doing what they do and those that don’t like it can do other things.

I think this is a very fair, if not, much needed alteration. I would prefer to do jumping puzzles, crafting, or any other imaginable thing as long as I don’t have to keep joining the rest of my RP server fighting a WvW server… tired of a 80/18/2 percent match.

surprised I got no feedback on this… just got 1s for my daily because I was doing it on an alt >.> not all of us can flip things on the TP and need all the small things to afford stuff

Will you please change the daily reward currency reward to the highest level character on the account? I HATE doing anything on any of my characters until I have received it on my 80. The reason? because I get around 5s with my 80 (not really that much but still…) if I do it on any other character I will get 1s or 2s which is completely pathetic. Just set it to the highest toon on the account so I can have fun anywhere and on anyone.

Hey guys… I am pretty sure this is the route you will be taking but I would just like to be able to say I put in my opinion.

I personally don’t care if you guys add a higher level cap (I prefer not doing this just make balancing harder). I am sure you guys would rather just add more weapons and utility/elite skills. I really would love new weapons

Two I think that would work well and you could split between the classes
-Polearms/Lances (could be a spear or javelin for some classes)
-Whips

(as a guardian I’d love a polearm/halberd/lance)

I’m sure you guys will do this and others will have much better weapon ideas than me (just give me my lance xD)

So the halloween jumping puzzle was … rage inducing to say the least… next time you do one of these hard puzzles where they are instanced… please reduce the number of people per server to 5 AT MOST… also have people have different models… say a skeleton for halloween… make them different colors so people know what they are.. this will make it so that people can actually see the platforms instead of them being blocked out by norn and charr. Also please don’t put a delay at the beginning… this is a cheap way of artificially adding tension by having the acid (or whatever it was) catch up… this has the nasty side effect of bunching up people on one of the most difficult parts (I hate whoever put that little block in). That delay makes a doable puzzle very difficult. I am sure that 80%+ of the people couldn’t do it… the rest probably took an hour just to perfect it (just about any error results in death)

So a recap
-everyone is a same small model
-different colors to differentiate
-reduce max amount of people
-don’t have bunch up areas (especially in front of tiny blocks)
-make it doable for everyone (add alternative paths for harder platforming but better rewards)

I am honestly very sad by this. Guardian was the only class that I was absolutely in love with… and it was because of the greatsword. I had a build that worked amazingly and the armor that perfectly supported it… I was in love…

This change has destroyed my build… I have no idea what to do now… my armor doesn’t fully support any other style… and none of my builds fully support my playstyle. I really wished that this never happened…. I have been buying dozens of dye packs to make my guy look stunning…. now all I can think of doing is rolling a different class.

I was a symbol and two handed guardian. I absolutely loved my style and I haven’t been able to play another class since then. I have a very strong feeling my love will wane for this. This will also decimate the healing I did too. So goodbye my guardian.
