Just seems a silly time when people are trying to get their dailies/other things done before reset. It seems to be a regular occurrence now.
So it won’t interrupt the Dragonstand meta or Tequatl.
The waiting for the reward was not the main problem in rushes. The problem was to finish the rush and to get transformed back to normal. :-(
The reward was definitely the issue for our guild. If the reward works right now, you can hit 6 to drop the transformation at the end.
What is missing from the notes also is whether Favor is rewarded for the guild successfully completing Rush.
Also, there were issues with megaservers attempting to move guilds into different IP’s mid-rush.
Edit lol, noticed Shylock wanted to stay transformed. Misread that. *

Players will now earn personal rewards on guild rushes as soon as they cross the finish line.
Players will now earn personal rewards on guild treks as soon as they interact with the trek icons.
Awesome to hear that some of the guild missions were fixed. Trek wasn’t much of an issue but puzzles were. Posting to see if perhaps Puzzle was fixed and maybe left off the list.
That would create a serious disincentive for people to grow their guilds. Imagine the guild at 49 people who wants to invite a friend in but doesn’t want to pay the enormous fees to make their previous investment work again?
Hmmm…. Sorry for the double post. Link below is the reason why I may be seeing lag where I hadn’t before.
http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/27k74s/comcast_issuesanyone_else_having_them/
Our guild has been doing our best to cope with megaservers and guild missions since April 15th. Complaints about this issue is not new as can be seen in the threads before mine. But something changed tonight where it seemed like every zone we were in had a high concentration of players.
Every single mission required us to port members over.
Every mission had us attempting to work with multiple guilds but lacking the tools to really get it done.
Guild Puzzle had 5 guilds running through at the same time in a massive zerg. The level of cooperation between guilds decrease as the number of guilds involved increase. I’ve never felt zerg lag in a guild puzzle prior to this.
We’ve run missions on every reset since our guild was founded but never saw such a high concentration of other players before tonight. I guess I post this feedback hoping that someone tweaked a setting that could possibly be re-examined and maybe pushed the other way.
Check out the hylek puzzle near the Caledon wurm. The colors, lighting, and silhouettes are really impressive.
As a guild world event, would love it. Not as in guild challenge though, would require too many people.
A 250 gem extractor is less then 25g. In the case of your 48g rune this seems to be the cheaper alternative.
It’s 6 runes multiplied by 8g each.
I think the folks pointing out how megazones and edge of the mists serve to paper over coverage gaps as a ‘soft server merge’ are on the right track. Both have a negative impact on wvw based on server nodes as it will become obvious that it’s tougher to get folks to participate.
Factions to replace servers and maybe to keep things good and qued around the clock, half as many factions as you have servers currently. 9 factions or 12 factions. Guilds sign up for the faction they want to fight for.
I am not a fan of the synchronization. You’ve taken the interactive part of chasing world bosses and turned it into a sitcom schedule. Where is player choice in prioritizng which boss to go to? How is this a living world when all these bosses operate on such a tight schedule?
Let me tack on this criticism also, who cares if a world boss has a failure effects if the megazone just closes after the zerg leaves? What kind of living impact does your failure or success have if the impact disappears so quickly?
The cost of Guild World Events is excessive. I understand that you want to make these events rare but consider that my guild would spend time karka farming and would run the queen when it was up. The cost of 10k influence and 20 merits means that we can now only sponsor 5 karka kills a week. This is quite a bit less than what we did before and that’s if we devoted all of our merits to killing the karka queen.
You should look at the Guild Missions as a guide to cost to these events since that is the standard that you set for unlocks requiring 50k influence.
1. Ranger.
2. Necro
3. Elementalist
The Vet Karka has two phases. At the end of phase 1 (Armored), it currently allows downed players to revive and provides all of the xp.
At the end of phase 2 (Cracked armor), or the karka death, a player can loot the carcass but they do not receive any xp and a downed player is not revived.
So by killing a vet karka halfway (end of phase 1) a player can get all of the experience that a vet karka will provide. I think people want the loot but this can be more of an issue in the future.
I noticed when it happens you can use those consumable help items that Anet moved to a 30 minute cooldown, the flame elemental powder, ogre whistle or mortar and that will unlock your skills again.
The investigator arrived at the Amber wurm in the overflow I was in and what occurred next was an endless stream of champs flowing from the wurm. We’re talking non-stop champs tightly lined up flowing out from the champ.

A good writeup on why it happens can be read here.
No one claimed that anet devs were…
“You are an incompetent high-school dropout with no ability to think and you have zero no justification for a job.
But someone did allege that posters here said…
If you grumble “it borken, please fix!”
…as if the posters in this thread were some kind of high school dropouts, incapable of spelling broken.
People are just trying to raise awareness of some issues that they are seeing in the hopes of a quicker resolution than 6 updates from now even if it’s just temporary, such as having the zone reset. Being passive aggressive towards people who are looking to get back to the game they enjoy really isn’t constructive.

Again people: Details! How are these temples getting stuck?
//Portable Corpse
In game bug reports were sent on these which has included any observations that were available. I did not post my followup to entertain or educate you, merely to indicate that these issues noted in the initial post are happening on more than one server.
All 3 are bugged on Blackgate as well. Add on Ogre Wars and Commisar to the list on top of the 3 mentioned above.
If it was ‘reset’ then either an update was delivered forcing the zone to reload…
Both events had languished for days and then within roughly 12 hours of being posted in the forums were up and running again. If we can use the past as a guide, we do know that devs do read and respond in these forums, including this one.
I use the in game support tool for those times when I can consistently reproduce a bug. When <this> happens it produces <bug>. In this case, I am generally not there when this event breaks down. On top of that it doesn’t break down in the same spot. I see the result but not what is causing it.
Do I believe that an some inventive player fixed both events? No. Do I think both zones became empty of players on the busiest non-euro server after apparent days of not resetting? No. Do I think both zones were in an unrecoverable state? No.
Regardless, my immediate need, being able to run these two events, was sated a week ago. But if you feel that this thread should be moved, perhaps raise the possibility here.
Both this event and the Dredge Commissar, which I posted in a separate thread, were reset on this server within 12 hours of my post here.
Again, if a mod wants to move this, feel free. Otherwise please stop second guessing where this was posted as I can’t move it and for the moment, the issue was dealt with.
We run this event on the blackgate server at reset. Be there about 10 minutes before reset.
The Karka event is run several times a day on the BG server but we have a goal that will run it at reset if the event is available.
There are probably a number of different areas that this could have been posted but I posted it here. If a moderator decides it belongs in the bug section then please do move it.
There are a number of spots in this chain where it can and has failed, I highlighted a couple. I gave them the details I had and directed them to a server where this event breaks frequently. At the moment, that’s the best I can do as I am often not there when the chain fails. I did notice that you agreed it was buggy but then failed to list any details yourself that could be used to assist the devs.
The Dredge Commissar event gets derailed at the Fridgardr lodge. At some point, the dredge or the humans just stop trying to take it over. Since this POI is involved in the Commisar chain, it is an issue that impacts quite a few people. To get a better idea of how/when this happens, please visit the Blackgate server where this event tends to bug a couple days after server/patch updates are released.
The assault on Foulbear Kraal seems to bug regularly on the Blackgate server. It seems to happen from both the Seraph side as well as the Charr side. There are several points at which this even can become stuck including Sappers Delve where an npc may not show up to right in front of Foulbear Kraal where either the human side’s NPC’s may not show up or the Charr side npc’s may disappear.
This event has bugged regularly for close to two months. It will run normally for a couple days and then at some point breakdown.
Here is an explanation that some handsome individual put together to explain why you produced a failed gathering.
http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/1lz1b0/psa_explanation_of_how_harvesting_nodes_produce/
Check your traits, your runes and sigils to see if you have a passive trait that goes active when certain conditions are met. Oakheart Salve, Hide in Plain Sight, Shared Anguish and others like it, can cause ruined material to appear.
Be on Blackgate a couple minutes before reset.
One of the greatest things I noticed in the ramp up to Guild Wars 2 Launch was that Guild Wars 2 would deliver news of what was happening in a new way. NPC’s would approach players to warn that their town was under fire, for example. Let me pull from the GW2 Manifesto a bit to lay the ground for where I am going with this.
Some games mostly tell story through quest text. But we’ve all clicked so many exclamation points and accepted so many quests in our lives that we’re pretty immune to quest text at this point.
…
Let’s say a village is being terrorized by bandits. You don’t want to find out about that because there’s a villager standing there motionless with an exclamation mark over his head who says when you click on him, “Help, we’re being terrorized by bandits.” You want to find out like you would in GW2: because the bandits are attacking, chasing villagers through the streets, slaying them and setting their houses on fire.
When you examine the way that invasion information is being handed out to players it’s being done in the same way we’re alerted to server maintenance. A bright yellow message beamed onto your screen exclaiming that Scarlett’s Minions are assaulting such and such zone. While this may be an effective stopgap, it is not immersive.
My suggestion is to re-examine how you deliver this message to the player. Possibilities could be having an npc that already approaches players on other events let players know. Or to have Scarlett (AI) private message people. Perhaps when players look at the map screen, invasion zones could even flash red.
I think there are different ways this could be communicated with players in a sense that wouldn’t break immersion, than what we’re currently looking at.
You can convert gold into influence. Maybe they should consider allowing us to put merits on the market. New guilds will snap them up but then the community determines the price.
I came looking to make a post about this event this evening but the original poster hit the points I wanted to discuss.
I strongly agree with his assertions that the event needs to have someone to kick it off. Trying to gather support to escort is more difficult if the group suicides into the first orrian eyes by the time anyone can respond.
Risen Nobles marks damage is out of control, mostly due to how it is able to stack. The more players you have nearby, the more nobles you face which just forces a quicker end to the event.
The large number of balled up risen nobles at the end of the chain that never despawn is clearly a mistake.
The one thing I would add is that if you removed Squad Morale from this escort, those complaints all vanish. Recall that the group that requires escort across Malchor’s Leap does not have the squad morale despite constantly wiping at collonade, wrens, the champ knight and that last town prior to the portal.
Apparently I’m Gabe from DR HAI GUYS
No one’s crying Gabe. The fights are good and SF still looks like it’s moving up. The forums are refreshing to read and it looks like these 3 servers will be going at it for a bit which seems to be good for everyone.

Nah
You don’t have to watch it at all, but Sorrows Furnace has been forced to keep an eye on this second scoreboard for months. If we win this week, we’re blue next week. If we come in second this week, we’re blue next week. And the majority of points we’re using to move up is from Darkhaven for not winning by Glicko’s expectations.
DH -33.7
IOJ -5.4
SF +37.8
hopefully we get a third team that is equal to dh/sf so we can really have a battle….maybe shiverpeaks is up to the challenge? gates? who knows!
It’s not Gates. They pride themselves on small roaming and do well on off-peak hours. NSP had a good zerg at times but they had large coverage gaps and were spawn camped for significant periods of time. They also have some decent roaming groups but their small groups don’t care about winning and hurt their server.
My guess is that DR will be stronger the next time around as their server figures out they have a chance to really compete at t7. And I don’t want to look past IOJ, they are doing well in their own right and did well enough to knock DR down. Honestly, IOJ deserves to be here for now.

I’d suggest anet re-examine his mechanics. I believe the mechanic is fine for an instanced event but in our situation we were fighting him as the clock was ticking and some random new players wandered over. They were so excited that they spammed attacks and failed to read chat until our time had basically run out. This led to some heated exchanges which was unfortunate.
It’s not their fault that they don’t know the mechanics but it certainly hurts our ability to include others in our events. Most of these fights are designed so that random people can wander into these events and contribute. The current mechanic with Komai discourages it and can potentially lead to 1 random player frustrating a guild either accidentally or intentionally.
What month did this huge switch occur in SF? I stopped playing the second week of Jan. to focus on the spring semester at university. When I left SF was getting utterly destroyed (all throughout December). I come back and I have a queue to get into WvWvW my first day back w/ SF doubling both opponent’s scores. Where did all these people come from? They opened server xfers im assuming at some point?
The change on SF was literally night and day
SF started as a strong PVE server. Thanksgiving through early January we had the Mad King events, Wintersday and that’s what people were doing. Right when you left, wvw people started heading back and PVE players started to branch out. It wasn’t an overnight thing, it took a couple weeks to get it rolling and a several months to build.
We did not receive mass transfers as we were always a very high populated server. Many of our opponents did though which did not help all of them. Those transfers, for the most part, were vacationers from other tiers or fair weather transfers. ET is the only server I know of to really benefit from the recent free transfers to low pop servers.
Best moment of the night for me happened in EB. HOD had been backed to their spawn and activated their breakout event. Our forces (SF) decided to attempt to defend against this from inside Jerrifers when Siegegrazer was spotted. On the way to the tower, a good sized NSP zerg advanced right past us as we moved into the tower totally ignoring us only to run smack into the buffed HOD zerg. We were stunned by our good luck to escape and NSP’s bad luck to run into it. The game crashed on me just after NSP and HOD met so I missed out on seeing what was next but that was one of the better wvw moments I’ve had.
Yes. After you defeat the boss go into the hut that he emerges from. Kill the ogres inside, your chest will be along the back wall.
Evasive purity was worthy of being a grandmaster trait when it used to remove a condition from nearby allies back in the beta
I think it’s worth the same investment as the Guardian’s dodge roll AOE heal for a small aoe condition remover. Whether they bumped the guardian dodge roll to 30 or dropped the ranger’s to 15, it strikes me as a similar mechanic that should require a similar investment, in my opinion.
Evasive Purity is pretty awful for the amount of points you need to spend. Mesmers can trait 20 points to create a clone on dodge. Guardians can dodge roll for a small AOE heal for 15 trait points. Bring Evasive Purity closer to it’s former glory. Make it remove 1 random condition in the same AOE radius as the guardians dodge heal.
I think 30 points to receive this trait is really high compared to other professions but Rangers have poor access to condition removal and a change like this would go a long way towards fixing it.
A bit of pure speculation, but I wonder if we could consider Anets neglect of tier 8 as a possible indication of there intent to merge servers in the near future. They may not feel a need to balance the tier if they intend on doing away with it.
You realize how many servers would be impacted, right? You would have to combine t7 with t8 and turn 6 servers into 3. That’s a lot of servers, especially in light of Anet’s sales and recent records of concurrent players.
The game is still selling briskly and player activity is still growing. Anet has an economic system in place for transfers to prefer going to lesser populated servers, but perhaps they could do more to steer new players towards the lower tiers.
Someone might bite on that, I’m not interested in setting up a low level tournament in wvw.
lie to him? nah, it was a mistype. He had invited me so he def knew what lvl I was bud.
Maybe ‘lie’ is a strong term. I looked at the screenshot and it struck me as being obviously incorrect and didn’t see another screenshot where it was corrected.
Now, I understand it’s not your fault that you’re stuck in this garbage match up
And it’s probably going to be the same next week. I think it would be for the best that it wasn’t the case, but it’s really likely.
Not that it matters much, but why did you lie to him and tell him you were a level 1 when you have multiple utilities unlocked?
rofl @ the sf ele I just downed in ET bl. You’re really going to invite me and tell me I’m bad after you buddies swarm me… I’m lvl 15 and you’re lvl 80 I think that’s a l2p issue.
But ty big pappi that was a great lesson in how not to play an ele.
you guys always make my lunch time roaming so fun
N you preach those ele skillz !
I know Big Pappi. He started Mid-January and I remember answering some of the questions he had about the game in Queensdale. A couple days ago, I helped him complete his personal story in Arah. I have no doubt he is still learning his profession, how WvW works and everything else people are learning even after they’ve leveled their first toon to 80. He’s a good guy in my book.
What I think is telling though is that we still have new players joining our server and willing to learn WvW. Based on your servers decreasing numbers, I can only assume that it’s not the case. Congrats on beating him though.
Is it a l2p issue? Yeah, probably. He’s been playing for about 3 weeks and just started playing wvw. But we have new people who are willing to give wvw a look.
The one thing I’d like to ask ferg players, or really sorrows or any other lower tier servers, do you guys get overflows for maps often in PvE? I can tell you right now that during primetime on Eradon we don’t, occasionally one for lions arch but that’s it (and that would be resolved if they gave us something like guild halls for guilds to hang out in!). I personally feel like the server populations aren’t accurate.
As Manoa said, regular overflow on Lions Arch for Sorrows Furnace. Rarely do we see overflow for the pve maps outside of this. However, our dragon events are heavily attended and generally announced in Lions Arch. It’s not unusual to see 75-150 people to show up for Jormag or any of the dragons. Shadow Behemoth receives about the same amount of players for that event.
There are regular assaults on the risen cathedrals and most of them get cleared at least once a day. Melandru is bugged at the moment. Grenth and Balthazar spend most of the time contested but the rest are generally cleared several times a day.
Our dungeon population is strong and all of our zones do have people in it even if they are just farming for the slayer achievements. I’d say the state of Sorrow Furnace’s PVE culture is strong.
This discussion of server mergers is probably not the right way to go. What should happen on your servers is for the players to find some way to generate excitement and pride and drive folks to wvw. What Arenanet can do is manage the population caps on servers and direct new players towards struggling servers.
Do rangers have a skill that stealths them.. ive seen it a few times while fighting a ranger and he disappears??
Rangers have access to stealth in 3 ways.
1) Camouflage, a trait that kicks in at a certain level of health.
2) Pet skills, pigs steal. The Siamoth can get moa feathers for stealth.
3) Superior Runes of Infiltration. Any class can use this which kicks in cloak at a certain health pointThere is some trait that makes them stealth if they are CCed (I know Daze..maybe any stun??) as well. I know this from fighting them on my S/D thief.
You are correct. Camouflage is applied by Hide in Plain Sight, wilderness 9. Apply Camouflage when you are dazed, knocked down, launched, pushed back, or stunned. It’s not on a health amount. Seems I also misspelled it.
