Which is why we need more to talk about. Devs probably avoid this page because there’s hardly anything but us complaining, but very little of constructive info towards the future of SAB and what we want to see.
I saw the centipede creature in the data mining picture, and with my earlier post/picture, it’d be good to discuss world 3.

In fact, I only saw 4 new levels in the picture, meaning, that either the world 3 is the last one before the last boss fight , or that they haven’t a full idea of what to add to world 4 in the future.

Yeah thats right. It seems there are only 3 zones + 1 bosszone left, but they could very well pull a “your princess is in another castle now”-move That way they could use the cannons in the hub to shot you to another place where there are more rooms/more levels. That we see only 4 more zones, doesn’t mean it has to end with only 4 more zones. Think about it, they could just expand/let the picture slide. They could very well make more weapons with more colors (red/voilet/grey/white/black….and so on). The rewards are safe and with “your princess…”-move more levels could be given out.

2. I hope that SAB will come back soon, my interest in gw2 is fadeing from time to time, but at the moment it is at an all time low, partly because of april 1. If they didn’t add those minis, it wouldn’t have happend but hey! That’s life (or should i say anet?).
3. I would be overjoyed if they would bring back SAB on 7th/14th/21th/28th but i doubt it will happen. Even when i take the datamining from that shaman into account SAB will most likely not return soon. And that is a real sad thing to say

No, engineers are just inferior you just don’t fully realize just how bad we suck nerf until you play another profession under similar circumstances.

I have a level 80 Guardian and level 80 Warrior, arguably the two strongest professions in PvE right now.

I still take my Engineer into dungeons all the time.

Nobody dies. The sky doesn’t fall. The world does not end.

Yeah, 2 Warriors, 2 Guardians, Engi… Nobody dies

To be honest. In PvE we are one of the weaker professions. Not because we are weak, it’s because most of the things we can do, other classes can do as good as or even better as we can.

Back to Topic:
I for myself would like a Cannon Elite, maybe change it with Mortar…
But i want to use turrents more But we all agree they are broken, one way or another

I just did a quick calculation based on my stats ( 3 pieces still missing^^)

I now have, without food, 38% crit-chance.

Together with Master Maintenance Oil and Bowl of Curry Butternut Squash Soup i should have 48%.

The question asked should be: Is it usefull to push your crit-chance above your “sweet”-spot? Do you sacrefice something else if you use it?

I,for myself, am trying to get at least 50% crit ( cause i think this is my sweet spot^^).

I hope i could help you with my thinking…

Ps: If i changed the Curry aganist a 100Power Food, i would gain 10 dmg, but would loose 5% crit… I don’t think these 10 dmg are worth it

So correct me if i am wrong please…

You have to be in a Guild with an active Mission (for example Guild Hunt tier 1) to get the personal reward.
This activ Mission means, first unlocking for influence (lets say 30k) and have it “used” (another 100).

If you are in a Guild which unlocked it, but doesn’t have it active, you won’t get a reward.

If you are in a Guild which doesn’t have it unlocked, you won’t get a reward.

Please, please correct me!

@shaktiboi: Interesting findings. Greatsword is without a doubt a better large group skirmishing weapon for exactly the reasons your described, and iDefender is useless in a large group because it simply gets instakilled. If I were going to run front line attack in my full bunker build, I would most likely swap out iDefender for blink as well.

As far as interrupting the illusionary leap/swap, they can only do that if they are very VERY fast on the interrupt, as illusionary swap is a stunbreaker, and if their interrupt is a projectile, it will be reflected by temporal curtain.

If the interruption is a projectile, as far as i saw it, it’simportant where you stand. If you stand in TC the projectile will be reflected, if you stand behind it, it will be reflected. If you stand on it, but not in the middle of it( i mean enemy——you—tc), it seems to me, like there is a 50% chance to get hit and reflected at the same time…

I hope you all can undestand what i mean^^ because i don’t know how to write it more clearly >.<

The problem with my setup is, i don’t have the vitality do let me get hit more often for retalation (vergeltung in german^^, i think i wrote it wrong… but hope you will understand what i mean ) So i have to shatter more often, which exposes me more. Because of that i (and likely you too) will die more often… So don’t let yourself get discouraged I hope you will have the same fun as i have with this build

Yeah thats funny. Even more fun to watch with a “stealth and go” thieve, as i call them…. thieves which are more invisible than visible in an actual fight… they arn’t frightning anymore^^ It’s reaaaally funny to see them hit themselfs, retreat and try it over and over again… ( because of my not optimal gear setup i can’t finish them off if they are a little bit skilled, which is quite sad but funny at the same time)
What i saw from my last tries, this build holds his ground against 1-3 enemys alone, if they aren’t coordinated enough… I remember a 1vs3 (warrior, ele, necro) at the start of the jp in one of the borderlands… i got all 3 down and 6 tokens… that was a blast… after this fight i knew i want to play this build more and more….

I have run this build with precison/toughness/condition damage, as i just don’t have the karma or the dungeon-tokens to buy me the normal ones….
It’s amazing how easy i can take thiefs and wariors in wvw now. Even d/d eles most likey flee or sit it out till one raid comes and tries to finish the other one off.

I’m gonna change my gear to match yours pyroatheist but it will take me some time. But even without the proper gear i’m getting results. Most likely because noone would expect a mesmer too be this tanky

Thief 27k damage, 2 secs, back to back

Also I dont think people understand what toughness even does, or how armor works.

Every + toughness adds to total armor (not actually sure the exact amount I know its not a 1:1 ratio though) armor adds 1% dmg reduction every 100…

So 2k armor gives a 20% dmg reduction (basic glass cannon build) while 3k armor gives about 30% dmg reduction (average beefy dps build) [generally bunkers have around 3500 armor]

So what you’re telling hims is that 10% more dmg reduction would completely fix 27k dmg…cus im pretty sure it would only turn it into 24.3k which for most classes even build tanky that equals dead…

But no please keep replying with “omg newb u is so bad glass cannon build toughness” We got a balanced game over here guys move along >.> no editing required during the first year of release

That’s not even close to how armor works. The damage formula is:

Damage done = (weapon damage) * Power * (skill-specific coefficient) / (target’s Armor)

Going from 2k armor to 3k armor reduces damage by an additional 33%. That means going from 2k to 3k armor reduces that 27k damage to 18k damage, not the 24.3k that your wholly uninformed post tries to claim.

As for toughness, armor is equal to defense (from equipment) plus toughness. Adding 1 point of toughness increases armor by 1.

Thats great to hear. So if i run full power/vit/tough gear and get 20k-23k health, i will still have 2k-5k left when he presses 2

this saved my day so much (sorry for sarcasm but it’s just to funny to think that thieves think this is just a l2p-/gear-issue)

First, you think your are funny to say someone else is high?
Second, i meant that you got a passiv speedbuff(even if you have to trait for it). Not every class got this. So, even if you can’t do anything anymore because of an incoming nerf, you sir, can at least flee out of a combat(against classes which don’t have those)

Choops, it’s about everything that is going on in these forums.

Nerf Portal / Remove Portal / Share Portal
Nerf TW / Remove TW
Nerf Dmg of Shatters

etc. etc.

IF everthing goes through as everyone suggest then there will be no need or even a tiny benefit to have a Mesmer in your Party.

Because the only needed Skills (in which a mesmer is the best) is TW and Portal. In everything else there is another class that can do it as good as or even better than a Mesmer.

I can’t say it more then now. Think about the class for which you want a nerf. Tell me What else does a Mesmer contribute to a sPvP /W³ / Pve Party?
Condition Remove? There are other classes.
Damage? There are other classes.
Support? Yeah, there we rock, but if you take these skills away there are other classes that will be MUCH better with better damage-output and better condition-remove AND support…

The portal mechanic should not be Mesmer-only

The only reason people see a mesmer as a “MUST HAVE” class is because of the few utilities (that get nerfed regularly) that they bring. Why would you give portal to an elementalist, who has the best mobility in the game that can also share swiftness with aura sharing + other ways. And why would you give portal to a guardian, which are much more “required” than a mesmer is. People will just complain that those two classes have become too important.

No they won’t because these classes are not Op, only Mesmer is and always will be. Even if they are afk, they are op!

It’s funny noone uses a coordinated thief…. ( whole team invisible for how long? 12 seconds?) like… ähm.. shadow refuge( which by the way should only be 3 seconds)? why does nobody uses this efficent? because the meta is not evolved now.

So just WAIT and learn to counter it. if there comes a hot purple cyrcle, whitdraw and attack the flanks (other points)…

Oh wait its easyer to change a skill than to get skill / change your playstyle…

After i have tested this build for a while, i think its time to write something to you Fay.

First i like your thinking about mantras. I searched a long time for such a build and i really like it.

For the first time i could beat a Thief AFTER i took a backstep without seeing the thief before.
It was hard, but doable.
I was really proud of myself

Second: It is nice, that you can switch traits and weapons as needed in this build. For example in Fotm, uncatagocrized (hope i wrote it right) fractal you can switch to fokus-reflection with all your focus-skills. ( also nice to troll with it cough)

Thrid: I think this build does really well with centaur-runes as well as rubin-orbs. Which means, you could (if you dont want to take the runes for speed) take almost every rune that supports raw and pure damage.

I personaly would like to see a little buff to our Mantra of Pain, but not much… maybe it is just wishful thinking ….

The healing you can do in dungeons for your group… countless times it saved the * of someone of my group… but never got credit back

I hope you keep your work up. If i find something more useful than this, i will write again

And to all Mesmer who give this build a try:
Don’t let yourself get discouraged, its not your everyday-build and it will take a will to get used to it ( i even changed my keybord-shortcuts for it to be more effectiv). It is worth it!

@ Mesmer: We’ll be addressing the current Mesmer build that’s spiking for insane damage. Sorry that change got through – it is something we’ll be fixing.

@ Macros: Macros are against the user agreement. You can be banned for using them, so use them at your own risk. I would also advise against using them, because in live tournaments, you won’t be able to use macros. So it makes little sense to learn “bad habbits” you’ll just have to retrain later.

We adhere to the same “one keystroke = one action on one character/account”, which is used by a lot of MMO publishers when defining botting/macros.

Just wanted to clear that up – be careful w/ those macros, they can get you banned.

I sure hope you will split this “fix” or this “nerf” into “pvp-only”, because in pve, it’s the first time mesmers can deal dmg!

And let me add a question:
Is it the bug mentioned in the other Thread you are going to fix or are you taking away the newly granted might or just simple damage nerf?

The longer-term problem is that Arenanet is getting a reputation for being unprofessional.

I believe you are the liar. I have yet to see them act unprofessionally not have I seen an evidence they have. You on the other hand have a history of making false accusations and claims, while offering no proof of your claims. Which is unprofessional.

They have continually given us exact times of when content would be released (e.g. with Halloween, the Lost Shores and now with Wintersday) and then failed to meet those deadlines – often putting the content out at the last possible minute and failing to explain whats going on to their userbase. That is what said person meant by unprofessional – and it is based on observable fact.

The fact is however the 14th event launch was scheduled with no specific time other than “when it’s ready” and it’s still the 14th so no deadlines have been passed as of yet. All this QQ that it has is sorely misplaced.

Sorry, my calendar says 15th….and we’re back to square 1.

Since my posts got deleted, I’ll do this one more time.

As it is said again and again, nowhere on the offical european side it is stated that the patch is pst. Only the events are stated with both, pst and cet.

Thing we europeans are complaining is not that we get it on 15th. it is that they haven’t said that it would be.
