Everyone is just trying beat Kirtos to the punch. Forum squatters.
These run quite spectacular for me. Though I occasionally get a ctd with no error message. Also, there is still some white artifacts across some terrain, but rarely. Mostly, it’s super impressive for once.
SirHoley,
Is it perhaps your virus software? The fault module " byeom.dll" which is a dynamic link seems to be black listed as spyware or trojans on various virus software suites.
I haven’t encountered that error personally though. Also, I don’t see that .dll anywhere on my hd that has to do with Guildwars2 including the appdata, docs, roots file folder ect., unless its packed up in a .dat. Actually, it’s no where on my OS at all that I can see. Maybe locate it and see what it’s up too?
Otherwise you may as well delete your gw2 install folder and user/data/local/temp folder and reinstall from the dl client just in case. At the very least it will shrink up your install and you can troubleshoot from there.
GW2 not utilizing both GPUs in a Radeon 5970

Any luck yet, Prop?
Have you tried switching inputs for whatever kind of hook up your using? DVI, DSUB, whatever?
Sometimes maybe an hard unplug will cause the game to recognize the second gpu.
Hmmm… Wish I could help more. Crossfire issues really get on my nerves when they arise.
Also, I’m not certain if you mentioned it, but are you running multidisplays?

A shot in the dark, but worth a try… Download the latest caps 12.11cap1 I think, install if you haven’t already. If you have, just go to c:\program files (x86)\ati tech\application profiles\
Copy the atiapfxx.blb
then go to c:\windows\ Paste that file in the system32 and also the sysWOW64 and replace the matching file there.
It fixed a bunch of crossfire issues for me in a number of games while using 12.10 and also the 12.11 beta 1-8’s.
Something about not updating the App profiles or something.
Worth a try I suppose.

Everybody doubts the router “SPI Disabled” fix, thus the same threads appear again and again.
It sounds insanely unrelated, but try it Rav.

So did it work for you as well? I’m interested to know the flavors and texture of your hat.

100% fixed my issues!
I agree. Who would have expected that the annoying black screen would have anything to do with the SPI setting on the Router firmware.
This should probably be a sticky post or at least an addendum to the ATI/Nvidia blackscreen threads.
YAY!

Disable SPI in your Admin router settings. In your actual router control panel that you must connect to via your web browser via your IP and most likely a hardwired, LAN connection. This indeed works! 100% solved my black screen issues.
I believe it has something to do with the UI in the game and how it interfaces with the server. Who knows? Who cares? It works. Do it now.
DOUBT IT NOT!

I had the exact same issue. Sometimes I’d play for quite awhile before the black screen would kick in.
Oddly enough, it was of all things, a router setting. Who’d of thought?
Connect to your router settings through your browser and locate the firewall settings. Un-tick the SPI box. Save your router settings.
I haven’t had a black screen since. Seriously, the last thing I would have suspected. I’m a usually suspicious of drivers and such.
Overheat most likely.
Delete your .dat file from your documents/guildwars 2 folder and try to launch again. Keep your settings at minimum.

If you go into your Admin router control panel and disable SPI from your firewall it should stop that odd black screen issue that occurs after being in the game for awhile.
Is it a high, pitch whistle-like sound? That would be a lack power. Check to see if by chance one of your 6 or 8 pin Power cable came unattached.
Single GPU performing better than CrossFireX

It is most certainly working in crossfire. I’m running tri and it scales accordingly. You are most likely not up to date on caps.
I get best performance in full screen mode.
I am no Watson, but I can tell you my dear friend, that your graphics card is most likely not the villain. Not with the temperatures you are describing.
I believe the most likely suspect is an ailing hard drive, as corruption of data can also produce the screwy colors upon crashing.
I would attempt to reinstall your OS on a different drive and this will no doubt bring your mystery from the shadow to the light.
Black screens are most certainly an issue with the UI OVERLAYS. It only happens to me while either using my maps, chats windows, ui in general. Also, there is an issue during scene transitions which have a ui overlay.
So, disabling hyperthreading via the bios fixed the issue. Everything on high or ultra and smooth. Weird.
I have extremely erratic fps. With vsync enabled I run from 60 to 30 up and down. I’ve tried running with crossfire enabled and disabled. Of course, less fps without crossfire, but not much, same symptoms though.
I’d assume I could run everything at the settings maximum and have solid frame rate. However, I may have detected an issue with the shader setting. Medium and low achieve better frame rates. Is this a know AMD glitch?
I am using the 12.11 and most recent caps. Mainly, I’d rather have everything all the way up and have stable framerate. I should be able too turn up all the settings, correct?
My Specs are:
Intel i7 860 @ 4.0ghz
16gb Ripjaw ddr3 1600
AMD 6990 + 6970 Trifire
Intel x25ssd + Velociraptor (gw2 installed)
Asus Maximus III forumula MB
Corsair Pro Series 1200AX PSU
