Thanks guy. You’re smart and I’m a noob. Lets just keep this thread hush hush. I don’t want word getting out that I asked an easy question. Apparently I have an issue reading Tool Tips;)
Hmmm…I need to research. I use Vengeance all the time, though I don’t die every time I use it. Anyways, thanks for the info guy. You got me on the right path.
I am a warrior. What is this evil skill you speak of?
Since we’re only a month in, they probably aren’t considering much right now. They’re still ironing out bugs and what not. Perhaps down the line they will have some resources they can dedicate to suggestions.
So I have a question regarding death. On many occasions, I’ve fought an Elite/Champion mob and will just fall over dead/defeated. Sometimes I run away, sometimes the mob itself will be dead. Even if I’m +80% health and there are no debuffs, I’ll simply fall over dead maybe 10 seconds after the fact. The combat log doesn’t show any damage taken which would account for losing 16k-19k HP’s.
So what’s the deal? How can I have +/- 18k HP’s and just fall over dead?
I didn’t doubt him. I simply said I hadn’t seen it happen. Actually, I thought he was referring to the use of Waypoints and not short distance teleportation…which I encountered this past weekend. I’ll add that note to the original post in a moment:)
MajorRockerI’ve never seen bots teleport. I’ve watched some groups for 30-60 minutes while doing my thing and they just stand there, never moving. I’m not saying they don’t teleport, just saying I’ve never seen it.
If you are gonna put together a ‘how to spot’ a botter PSA you might want to be more receptive to other peoples observations. I’ve seen it a bunch of times too, a player or players will teleport short distances of about 25-50 feet. That is probably worthy of being added to the original post.
Could always do a Personal Story Vendor. Complete your story go see the vendor for your reward.
Agreed. Have done Dwyana event 2 time from start to finish and 1 time from last escort to end and have only gotten blue items from the chest.
Remove all low level Weapons and Armour from normal drops

Are you saying Blue items should be removed from the game?
I agree with most of what you purposed. I think it is a bit more complicated than it needs to be. A system-wide alert isn’t needed. Those kittenport the bot can hang out for a few mins and see what happens. Also, giving loot shouldn’t be a requirement. I think the simple fact that a bot/game account just got terminated is enough of a reward. Giving loot will only provoke bot farming and add to the risk of mistaken reporting.
Personally, IF I ever made the mistake of buying an unusable item, I’d probably be more careful in the future. 3 times? Ouch.
Those graphs are not “nearly identical”. In particular, the trending slopes are completely different, and GW2 is rapidly losing customers, if that data is correct, which I suspect it’s not.
Given the wide range of problems with GW2, evidence for which there is this very forum (suggestions), I suspect this title will continue to bleed subs until some of the customer suggestions are implemented.
Until then, ArenaNet will hold onto it’s flawed design philosophy because they don’t have to care. In order to complain, ArenaNet already has your money. Win-win for them.
You obviously didn’t play D3. This game is 110% perfection when compared to that POS.

Doubtful. If I unlock xx% of the world and switch toons, that part of the world isn’t unlocked unless I’ve been there on that toon. I would assume this would also carry over to the chieve.
The website filters all swear words and change them to kitten. Also, lately, people have plainly just started using the kitten term instead of a proper swear word, for lulz.
For lulz or for being annoying? I am uncertain.
I was actually hoping to find something Nvidia related from the OP. 3 pages of PC tech and 1 item pertaining to Nvidia drivers:/
People say “kitten” instead of a swear.
I found this out the expensive way after buying and using several Sigils which stacked buffs.
From the Wiki:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Sigil
Notes
Sigils that hold a charge per kill cannot be stacked (i.e. +5 power per kill and +5 condition damage per kill) one or the other shows up. This applies even if you swap weapons. For example if you had two different “On kill stacking stat bonuses” sigils on two different weapons, only the sigil of the weapon you make a kill with first will take effect. If you swap weapons and make a kill, the sigil from the second weapon will not take effect.
Charging and non charging sigils can be stacked.
Sigils that trigger on critical hits can trigger on any critical hits; the critical does not need to be scored with the associated weapon’s skills (e.g. a character with an offhand weapon imbued with a Sigil of Rage can still gain quickness when critting with their first three skills)
Sigils that have a chance to trigger on critical hits stack their chance percentages multiplicatively, not additively (e.g. two major sigils of fire – 20% chance on crit each – give a 36% chance on crit, not 40%).
Thanks Noppy. I guess I could have elaborated a bit more on the items on the list. In my GW2 experience, bots meet at least 4 of the 7 criteria I listed. I certainly don’t target Rangers with bears which aren’t in guilds. I target groups of Rangers, with bear pets, who aren’t in guilds, have odd names with no vowels, and are auto casting at nothing until there is a mob spawn…oh, and stand in the same place for an extended period of time without moving:)
I use swords 83% of the time, but I have noticed the ability I have set to auto attack will “get stuck”. The icon will continue to flash until I hit it again. It will then turn off. Perhaps this is occurring with your firearm auto attack skill? Next time this happens, keep an eye on your icon and see if it continues to “cast” after downing a mob. If so, just hit it again and it will turn off.
Agreed. I am forever reporting botters and since they are usually in groups, it’d be much easier to attach a screen shot to a support ticket than have to report each one individually. Since most bots use names like kklrdn or ypljjjs, they’d easily be able to be spotted in the screen shot.
As we all know, botters will always be a part of MMO’s. A common goal of mine has always been to report as many as possible. I always inform other players of bots on the Map Chat, so they too can report these a&%*$. Yesterday someone said they didn’t even realize they were bots. This leads me to the title of this thread, How to Spot a Bot.
1. Botters “usually” aren’t in a guild.
2. They usually have nonsense names like jjjklr or tsktdn.
3. Even if no mobs are currently spawned, botters will continue to auto-attack.
4. They very rarely farm alone.
5. They are sometimes naked. (no armor equipped)
6. Most, if not all are Rangers
7. Most, if not all use brown bears as pets.
8. (Addition) Bots will do a short range teleport (20-30 feet) searching for newly spawned mobs. You’ll notice they teleport to the same locations over and over again…following the same path.
That’s pretty much all I can think of off the top of my head. I encourage everyone to report bots when you see them. Anyway, if this helps just 1 person and they report botters, my mission has been accomplished.
Edit: I wanted to point out that a seeing a player matching 1 attribute I listed doesn’t make them a bot. In my experience, a bot will meet most, if not all items listed. That means if you see a group of players matching multiple attributes I listed, they are most likely bots. Also, Noppy is not a bot, so don’t report him/her.
Edit 2: I also wanted to note that I’ll usually send a PM to a player and ask if they are a bot. If I don’t receive a reply in a minute or 2, I report them.

Where as i agree with most of these topics, number 2 seems to stick out the most. I found this extremely frusterating and ended up having to refer to a GW2 Wiki. I would like to see more detailed descriptions.
Item descriptions are terrible and unfortunately, GW2 Wiki doesn’t even elaborate most of the time. This weekend, for example, I wanted to know how much health the Superior Sigil of Blood gave. The wiki doesn’t say anything:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Superior_Sigil_of_Blood
Also, say I want to know what item a recipe makes. I want to see what the recipe for Berserker’s Imbued Darksteel Inscription makes, what it’s for, where to get it, and anything else that would give me knowledge about the item.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Recipe:Berserker%27s_Imbued_Darksteel_Inscription
Zero info.
I know the Wiki is growing, but it’s still in pretty poor shape. Right now I need to scour through multiple sites until I can find a valid answer.
Don’t even get me started on DPS.

Ah, good to know. I’m tired of seeing this message fill my chat windows. Hopefully they’ll soon correct the issue.
