Same here, I have some hard time with it, but with my infinity salvage i dont have a problem ^^ I’ve been never more happy to leave ranger behind for a while, and enjoying my DH as hell!:) I just wish DH was medium set, so i could use full potential, but i’m almost done with 2nd ascended that is meant for heavy class which will bring the sharpness of those shots even harder:)

NOTE for Anet:

• You can do what ever you want with ranger
• you can take your time
• It’s no harm to use players, it reveals the real image to the world

What is infinity salvage and how could it help with my legendary weapons and bags?

Bags are still Character bound so you cant transfer them to another character in case u wanna quit playing a certain character

no gem store item to switch your useless legendary weapon – shortbow – even for a mere axe or a harpoon even

yeah we survive , survive and survive again , i even mock my friends coz they all soloing their Hot story line quests while i finished the whole thing solo

it tends to get boring thou coz we survive but we dont have their fun to be honest

I’m afraid you’d be the one to be speaking only for yourself. Unfortunately, there’s way too many people who already expressed their displease and discomfort about Druid itself using great, logical and solid argumentation while I haven’t seen a single constructive positive opinion about it.

At least rangers actually have a competitive build for higher content in pve? It doesn’t matter if rangers are pigeonholed into one build to do a raid because at least you can do that if you want. It’s not like other classes can run around and play some non-meta scrub build and be good in raids.

This is the problem with metas. People think that their class sucks if they can’t play the way they want in the hardest content in the game. There is nothing wrong with Ranger in 95% of pve. Only specific encounters require certain builds to be the most successful which is perfectly reasonable.

Morwath u just gotta accept that many of us dont like the mechanics of the class or the direction anet wanted to go with , You enjoy , i dont blame you after all its a matter of tastes but when this specific class – Ranger – gets a spec that is not liked by many of its users then u must admit that something is wrong , and i will say it again ive played druid for more than 200 hours in HoT and i think if i did play that long period of time on another class i woulda had much more fun and i will do so once i get back from work in a few days , u may ask why i didnt stop playing immediately after i knew that spec wasnt that much entertaining , the answer is that i wanted to race through maguuma jungle and understand it first before i start working on alts

i know druid is viable in pvp , i know druid in viable in raids thou tempests will soon take our spot – iam not sure about that but iam reading lots about it – , but druid isnt fun in all other PvE content , and sorry i dont wanna play my core ranger unless i really HAD to

Ranger is in the best state it has ever had since launch. Fine in all three game modes. Can’t ask for much more than that. Obviously there are some things that could be improved, but overall the class is working well atm.

This. Especially PvP. Conquest ranger is amazing. So much more utility than its ever had before.

i respect you and i respect your posts and your efforts to help the PvP community , But the Ranger class is just boring at the moment , and iam a 3 year old ranger now with the exception of dungeon farming as warrior , i finished HoT mostly including quests , masteries (144 )-the 17 remaining for me are tyria related- , adventures and achievements .

I was doing nothing new as i was doing all the content really beside the occasional f5 to heal myself and people near champs and ancient seeds trait mostly .

While reapers had their new flashy mode , chronos having fun, guardians having fun too, warriors thou they r non existent in PvP picture now but they rock PvE , ele’s and thieves are on the same boot as us but ele’s seems to enjoy their tempest cause iam seeing much of them , engi’s r enjoying the raids , and dont get me started on rev’s , I know that druid is awesome in PvP and once i get back from work i will give it another go in PvP but i cant get my hand on the thing we are missing to be honest , all i know is that i just dont want to be specialized as a healing class , and i know most of you will tell me not to dedicate it as a healer and i know i just finished all content solo " not healing"

It’s impossible to make everyone happy.
sPvP Ranger community was crying since always for team utility, since Ranger wasn’t really contribution at all after Spirit Ranger nerf and went our of sPvP meta completly.
Druid fixed most of our issues in SPvP and made us meta once again, with pretty unique role.

I can understand that Druid wasn’t much wanted in PvE, which always was “zerker speedrun meta”…

Ranger still has many old issues, like e.g. not good enough traps, crappy shouts, overnerfed Spirits, pseudo leap on sword AA, overnerfed shortbow and list goes on… I’d rather see Ranger community asking more about fixes for “Ranger problems” than complain about “bad Druid design”, since Druid is really awesome.

i agree , you see i made short bow legendary ONLY for the spirit build coz i was rocking it and i even went very high some days that the game placed my team against old TCG with rom sizer helseth tage and danshee – lost badly thou – , then they nerfed it and shortbow went to the toilet
i used to play as tarpper before as well , but isnt that just lame to have 1 build available as meta for druids? i can roll my old surival longbow/GS build but thats unfair compared to the 3~4 build necro can do

i agree with the OP , but i am just gonna state what i did since i played the expansion

1st of all iam a 3 year old player since last week and i play a ranger mostly and have a warrior for farming – yes farming , farmed dungeons to get gold to make my legendary long and shortbow , shortbow being useless now – and now currently working up on my lvl 80 necro to make it a reaper

iam on 144 mastery level – yes i farmed cof p1 and farmed spiders – but i also can tell u how every single meta of the 4 new maps works and which events for which achievments

thing i hate is , yes it felt like a race donno why but i raced through it all and had my fun of course leading people through different meta’s , few things were gated and i hated that but i did it eventually , funny thing is iam stuck now on 144 mastery and i can get the last 2 mastery’s bars filled immediately at cof p1 but im stuck now coz i need 16 more point – got 1 alrdy – so now i have to start doing fractals oooooooooooooooooooooooor start doin useless achievement for those like buying racial gears or getting all lumi armors …or better yet do all diving googles crap …..

i played HoT for like 200 hours maybe in the past 3 weeks i enjoyed it yes but its not the same fun i had in core gw2 which is now omg a zerg fest , people who say play the core game of u dont like HoT , did u actually try doing melandru or grenth or dwayna or lyssa or any of those now ? those bosses and many more outside of orr maps used to be fun they could actually fail and u could – sometimes- fail doing pre’s and boss wont even spawn now what u worry about is " i have to hit anything omg i need to get this event even on bronze to get exp for my mastery or count as 1 of the 4 daily events for this map " , thats not fun to go back to if u ask me , i donno how to fix that but it feels just not right

Iam a pvper btw and as i said i made 2 legendary weapons one of them is just useless now which is the short bow coz they nerfed the ranger builds that had advantage using it which are trapper and spirits , so thats pvp for u now , 1 or 2 meta’s for each class , as the guy said before me whoever hits 1st and hardest mostly wins

WvW i dont know about but i once tried the new desert borderlands and asked on map chat why no1 is there , a guy answered because its bugged or few mechanics not working yet so i dont know if that is true

raids hmmm its fun but what if i cant come online the time my guild does that , i dont care if i do that or no but making it the only way to get legendary armor is just annoying , im not saying to make it easier , just make it like legendary weapon , obtainable after a looong journey which is fine for me

The blank utility slot is your “flex slot”, I usually use Signet of Spite as my default option. If you lack projectile defense you can replace Well of Corruption with CPC and use “Suffer!” in your flex slot to get rid of the self-weakness. Well of Power is a solid stun break and condi removal for your group. If you don’t like to use minions or if the Golem messes with aggro management you can take “Your Soul is Mine!” and “Chilled to the Bone!” instead and trait Augury of Death for cd reduction and a bit of life-steal. Lich Form is also still pretty solid for high burst in short fights I believe.
If you run a lot with PuGs you might want to adjust your traits a bit more depending on the group. You can e.g. take Bitter Chill and Rending Shroud if your group is lacking vulnerability application, or Decimate Defenses if you don’t have enough crit chance boosts (Banner of Discipline/Spotter). Also, If you already have another Necro with Blood Magic in your group (edit: or two for PuG raid parties that is) you can spec into e.g. Soul Reaping instead.
For food, the Sweet and Spicy Beans is just something I’m testing currently for Chill up-time. It’s probably not needed and the overall better option for damage is Sweet and Spicy Butternut Squash Soup.

yeah thats very close to what i was thinking , its gives me much more life force gaining while sacrificing few chills traits – iam not expert on necro – but how about using staff and using soul marks on soul reaping?

so i wanted make my necro a reaper and wanted a berserker build for PvE and it would be awesome if i can do raids/fractals using it too , even if i have to make slight changes to the build to make viable in raid / fractals

To my surprise now i am seeing that we need different gears for different contents , i just saw a guy on another thread asking what gears he needs to buy beside his zerker gear to be a viable druid and the guys asked him what content he wants to play Fractals / WvW / Raids / or just pure PvE mapping , that is not fair imo , a PS warrior will stick to his gear on most contents just not WvW and even in WvW he can join in a zerg using that gear , but we gotta have gears for fractals which is condi i guess – i don’t do any fractals – , gears for healing for raids , gears for our own fun in HoT maps which is zerker if you ask me because its just amazing to deal damage while keep your heals up anytime u need or even be gracious and heal people close to champs
also another thing ,i have crafted Kudzu and the Dreamer , cause u know " ranger love " , now the only build i crafted the dreamer for was traps and that became toilets in sPvP then spirits and omg don’t get me started on that

OP has a point there , thou i use a LB in PvP no matter what the meta says and i enjoy the sniping , u should keep that in mind @legionLord

same here , yesterday i was doin full tarir defense , now i cant even walk out of an empty wp without 4 sec delay , and its always me who gets all the bugs when they patch

anywayz yeh i agree ive palyed power ranger on the stronghold and its amazing there since u can manipulate the supply arrea with barrage and keep knocking them away from it and harass off/def lanes

LB is not viable in PvP. In a 2v2 or any other amalgamation, the other team always has the advantage on point. If they down your ally, you are too far away to help in a meaningful way and you only have skill 4 and some weak pet skills to help you (which they wont, because the other classes have invulnerability, and and endless supply of Stability, Invisibility and other tools to aid in squashing your not-so-lucky friend). Not to mention, there are two of them and you only have one knockback. This is the main reason that LB is not worth it in PvP, and never will be.

^, my point exactly we r very good dealing " heavy " damage when being outside the point , which is isnt very helpful to ur team mates who are rallying inside

and if u r chased u wont be able to help out coz u r not any of the other 7 classes that can buff/aid team mates using ur utilities or greatsword – iam talking about power ranger build -

i know that lb is the standard in PvP now but believe me its 1 out of 30 or 40 WTS players who use lb ranger IF there is a ranger at all within that group of players , also i dont know if im right or wrong on this but , as a lb ranger u cant hold a base or even decap one since u need another to do the melee fight for u while u take higher ground or ur 1500 distance and start doing ur nasty work on defenders , i know u would tell me to switch to gs and go assault em but really? i mean u wont be able to survive 1 decent warrior or thief or even an ele , we had our chances going 1vs1 against any1 and i mean any1 when we had decent traps or decent spirits

I dont want this to be understood as a QQ statement but here goes

I created kudzu like 2.5 years ago for the sheer fun of PvE then when i started pvping it
was fun playing traps
And then spirit build was cool like a year ago so i started working on the dreamer so u know i can have a legendary in PvP shooting unicorns and chirping birds PvE ,

All that farming was always on my warrior of course since we r doomed in dungeons and i know few ranger play them well in dungeons and i used to be one of them until the insta-kick started to annoy me – i dont have much friends playing gw2-

Then like i donno 4 or 5 months ago both traps and spirit became kinda useless and the fact that we r not needed in dungeon made me create a necro to start prepairing for reaper and anticipating druid with low low low expectations and voila we r healers now
Also to my shock the good rangers now in PvP are S/T + A/D

We r rangers who dont use bows and i used to be a good bunker/decap spirit ranger and i dont want to brag but we used to win many games for a while that sometimes we got to face TCG when they had sizer tage rom danshe helseth – we used to lose 500 /120 against those lads – , now i feel lost when i pvp with my ranger and i hate to play a ranger with melee or semi ranged weapons

i know most of like the druid but i didnt sign up for the support rule in PvE as a ranger

Also tbh i dont care for the time it took me to create those 2 legendary weapons i had my fun using em

ive been playing necro for a while now since they nerfed traps and then destroyed spirits
so let me get this straight we can now copy our pets buffs and vice versa via WHaO , which means " guard" is imba now and the same for swapping pets trait , and ofc with lingering magic this build shines
what more can we use to abuse this build coz oh god we’ve useless for a long long time

Same as Niomi , Just put 100 bucks on the ultimate edition and i got the problem fixed for a while but since the last fix which was 2 or 3 hours ago , Everything just got messed up again , Even when using the ports they asked me to use

well yeah its not internet related as i play other moba games just fine which we know depend son ping and also not a pc issue for the same reasons , but u guys say 20~30 mins between each dc , i get it 10 sec after my map loads

my game keeps disconnecting and its only gw2 i have played some other online games normally so its not my internet also i did close my antivirus and still having the same issue , it worked good for a while after i played another game but then it started crashing again

“The game client lost its connection to the server. Please wait a few minutes before restarting the client and trying again”

can we get someone to talk us in this thread plz and tell us how much time we have to wait? we just need closure !
