I have to agree with the OP. I am sick of doing dailies but feel I must to be competitive.
Please allow us to select PVE or PVP dailies upon reset (or whenever we log in) and let us do ONLY FIVE of them. Double/Triple the point values. I want to be spending less time doing dailies and more time PLAYING things I enjoy!
1. Raid Content with Proper Rewards
Tequatl is a very good “raid” but suffers from a flaw – It’s not instanced. So, you have an event scaling for population that cannot be controlled. (AFKers removed, people who are doing “whatever”, ect). Please make instanced content like Tequatl but make it an instanced Guild Challenge.
Raid Reward Structure —- Please have it give “Raid” tokens (among yellows, champ boxes, cash, karma, ect) that people can use to buy ascended weapons, armor, and jewelry with. This will make those who feel the game isnt “alt friendly” a chance to equip thier alts. Allow these raids to be subject to diminishing returns like dungeons This way people can repeat them/help other guildies do it and still get SOMETHING for thier time.
2. Player Housing, Guild Halls, and the Home Instance
I do like the home instance in the game. It is ideal for player housing (especially Salma District) and really needs to be utilized. Allow players to teleport to it every hour or so with a special item. Add a special way for us to get crafting stations there. Allow our mini pets to play there. Allow our other characters to be there —- Have them socialize together and with NPC’s. Allow us to unlock/buy decorations… Or flat out make a new crafting profession “Carpenter” —- Update other professions to add housing decorations. Jeweler can do sculptures of models already in game (like mini’s), Weaponsmith can do ornamental weapons, Cooking can make dyes to be combined with these items to make it certain colors, ect.
Guild Halls can be an extension of this. Have a trophy system (Teq trophy for killing him as a guild, along with other raid bosses) … Allow guilds to rent out space in the actual non-instanced cities for a gold fee (a gold sink) or use the instanced version for free — But no one else but guildies can visit.
3. Random Reward System
Randomness for loot is horrible if that’s the only way you reward your players. Fractals of the Mist has Pristine Relics — Please use this system along with the random factor so people, again, can at least see the “finish line” rather than rely on dumb luck and a prayer. However --- DO NOT make it a grind. The halloween achievement of close 50 (or more.. I am not in the last tier yet) halloween doors is a horrible way to extend the life of your halloween holiday event. Do you think players like to run same events 50+ times and think it’s still FUN? It’s not —- The dragon bosses (like maw, wurm) are only ran repeatedly because of the rewards —- It’s not fun though anymore. The first 3 times it was.. now its just repetitive because you need the loot.

I have to agree with a lot of the “Too Fast” opinions. I feel like I have to do my daily as quick as I can, the PVP daily as well (for achievement points)… then charge my quartz crystal. Run a few dungeons for the daily loot… Run all the living story achievements before they are gone. I get 4 days off in a week (not always weekends) and I find myself dedicating too much time to this game.
Some may say “You dont have to do it all” but realize that I do enjoy the game and enjoy completing the achievement lists.. I just dont like having to devote 20 hours a week to do be able to do this.
I am also starting to wonder about Anet being money hungry since now you can forge the new SAB mini’s —- This means collectors have to spend more gems now to complete thier collection. They either want real cash or are using this to remove the gold that was farmed during clockwork chaos. How about we just dont add in farms like this if you dont want the gold in the economy?
EDIT: I am actually looking forward to Halloween and Christmas because I wont have any new achievements to do… Well, Unless they add more…. And the living story.

Just wanted to say thank you for retroactively awarding my two accounts achievements that they did get, but the game didnt count them due to the overflow bug. Running 5 Clockwork Chaos events at 45 minutes each for no credit was a lot of wasted time and I was hoping very much that you would do this.

I have to agree with the OP. They really need to change the daily quests to give TWO ACHIEVEMENT POINTS EACH BUT ONLY LET YOU COMPLETE FIVE IN A DAY!
This way, no one misses out on achievement points, but we dont have to spend extra time trying for those extra dailies.

I am active during all phases of this event and have killed Scarlet Briar to boot. I’ve also been killing the PORTAL events also (Crossed Swords) and NOT JUST aetherblade and molten alliance events.
This is happening on both of the accounts I own also —- This really makes me feel like this is a bug.
I miss Caithe and Eir… and maybe Logan. Dont care for Rytlock or Zojja much, but I do miss Destiny’s Edge as a whole group. When will we see them returning? =(
After looking over my activities achievement list, I saw Keg Brawl. I thought I would give it a try —- I found it very fun, but why are there no rewards? Can we get this change so it rewards a vial of karma, a little cash, and 1-2 items? Considering the Zephyrite racing has rewards, I feel like I could be doing other things to get achievement points.

May I introduce you to this quest from EverQuest 1? This was a very long, challenging quest line that involved one specific individual getting an ultimate weapon. PLAYERS: While these epic quests from EQ1 had thier own set of issues, please dont freak out yet! If you do release more legendaries, please consider using something like this! Time consuming (as Anet wants), challenging, and fun.. If done right.
Some portions of this particular EQ1 Cleric quest were soloable —- Some were very time consuming —- Camps! The game revolved around spawn timers and place holders. Want a specific item off a monster for this quest? Kill the place holder monster, hope it spawns… and hope it drops the item needed! Other “camping” involved timers much like your dragon timers. However, it was in an uninstanced world and you often had to fight with other people to obtain a single players PIECE of thier epic weapon. Very frustrating for your player base, causes bad blood, ect… As you want your players to be working together, please dont adopt this. Instance the stuff!
In my opinion EverQuest 1 had a very strong community. I feel this was due to bonds formed overcoming the difficult content and working on long-term quests/objectives together. EQ1’s Cleric Epic required raiding a few area’s for certain pieces. Due to a guild working together to get individuals such a powerful weapon.. Bonds were formed, people helped others do parts of thier epic quests in return, ect… It was more of an “investment” in the guild as a whole to get stronger to overcome the next obstacle —- Together. People still jumped ship though.. Nothing can be done for that though.
This can allow the characters personal story to advance after killing Zhaitan Lets go back to the Grove and ask the Pale Tree about other weapons of power that can be used to help Tyria in the upcoming battles against the other dragons! Gets sent to X NPC to start thier quest It also gives people a reason to finish thier personal story! This allows you to focus more on the “Class” rather than the race which was primarily the focus of the original personal story from L1 – 30 before choosing an order.
Best part —- If people dont like this option, they can always opt for the other method of obtaining them. Pure luck! Casuals and loners can still win too!
As far as effects added to the weapons —- That’s up for your balance team. If you’re trying to phase out magic find, add that onto the weapon with other normal combat stats. No harm in WvW or PvE. Has a benefit for the player, still!
OK — Back to how this applies to GW2!
Class specific legendaries would be a fantastic way to:
A) Add new legendaries that dont involved Mystic Forge/Luck.
Can add content for the Raids you are working on.
C) Promote a healthier, tighter knit community between players and their guild.
D) Allow the characters personal story to tell of the class as they get thier weapon.
I am having this issue too. I never save my credit card information in the game. My information (Bank, Card, Address, ect) has not changed prior to this game coming out either. I was able to purchase gems prior to this, but cannot now.
As the title suggests, these are easy to change suggestions to make life easier in GW2,
1) Reduce the spam filter on mail if the person is on your friends list.
2) Do not autopopulate reciepient field with random people standing by. I’ve lost so many items this way and I dont even know who I sent the items to to ask for them back.
3) Allow us to mail to our alts on the same account. Why make players go through the extra steps to bank it? DEBUNK: No, Arenanet doesnt do this to promote buying bank tabs. There are so many other more legit reasons buy’em.
4) Trade Windows. People are doing this anyway through the mail but at player risk. I’m sure you get scam reports that wouldnt be there otherwise. Anet, if you want the gold sink from TP usage, just add in a small fee for the convenience of sending mail like Voldemort (WoW) does. People will pay for the convenience, especially if its cheap.
5) Allow me to remove quest tracking elements from the upper right hand corner. This includes living story, monthly events, daily, story quests.. ect. Let me choose please!
6) Allow permanent stowing of pets when out of combat until the ranger wants them to come out.
7) Collections to go above 250 in the bank. Include dungeon tokens the collection tab.
8) Filter out pets from going into the bank collectible tab when selecting “Deposit all Collectibles” in the inventory.
9) Allow blueprints (normal and superior) into the collectible slots in banks.
10) Dueling. People get discouraged if they get ROFL Stomped in Spvp upon first entering. It makes PvP intimidating to some players. If you want this to be an esport game, give your player base some tools to get better and feel like they have a chance to participate.

I’ve noticed that when I close the game when stuck in an infinite loading screen, the game’s executable hangs around in task manager. I sometimes have to force-close it from task manager in order to reboot the game. This is AFTER the window closes and it looks like the game isnt running to the naked eye.
I run a GeForce 560 TI, I7 processor, and 16 gb of ram.
EDIT: Once I close out the game client, the loading screen issue doesnt show itself again until after I load some other area’s. I wonder if this is a memory leak of some kind?
Our group got stuck at this round platform with no monsters to kill, nothing to hit, and no where to go…. The bridge (behind me) is down so we cant proceed. When we try to warp to another waypoint in the dungeon, it plants us right back here.
Considering the time invested, I am pretty dissapointed. Why isnt there in-game support to help with these kinds of situations? Your player base shouldnt have to waste thier time because its easier/cheaper for you (anet) to not staff in-game support.

ArenaNet, while I do enjoy having the collectible tab for my pets.. is it possible we can not have these auto-add into it when using the gear icon in our backpack? I want to have my pets out and with me but I dont want to right click every single collectible item that I do want to go in my bank…
Take a note folks —- Make sure you spend laurels before exceeding 100. Unlike EVERYTHING ELSE IN THE GAME THAT STACKS TO 250, Laurels are the exception. I dont know how long I’ve been losing them for, but today I actually paid attention to the counter and it did not increase from 100 after doing my daily.
ArenaNet —- Why did you design this to cap at 100? How is your player base supposed to know this?
True. It would help tremendously for both sides. Any downsides to either of our suggestions for Anet or players?
Considering Lion’s Arch is overflowing with people mostly due to all five portals to each city being centered there, would you, ArenaNet, allow us to WP from city to city free of charge? This would make life easier for players as we can avoid zoning into Lions Arch just to get to another capital. This also allows for more players to spread out between all cities —- This is what you are trying to get us to do already. I imagine this would mean less queue’s on your server for characters to switch zones… perhaps a light burden lifted off your servers. Everyone wins!
The thread wasnt for attention —- I thought I was fairly clear about it being a request for more bank tabs.
Personally, I save a lot of my materials for alts to craft. It’s also great for leveling them if I dont want to roam the world, traditionally. A lot of the items you dont see are tonics, “one-time aquire” or yearly event items (Halloween skins, Christmas skins, tonics, and unique class items like the Guardian Helm, Thief hood, ect) And yes, tier 6 materials also. There’s also your cooking pre-combine items like stock soups, ball of dough, ect that are taking up space.
EDIT: I guess I should just be a brat and complain like some of the population about Item’s A, B, and C not going into a collections tab to give me more bank space. =P
ArenaNet, can you please add in another dozen or so purchasable bank tabs? I have bought all of your bank tabs available right now and I am still running out of space. Most of my characters also have all thier pack slots bought with 15 slotters.

After getting a random weapon with this on my thief (in an offhand gun) and seeing it proc, I know it is not working on my elementalist in her staff.
If I am correct, the graphic is a blue wave/splash like an elementalist turning into water mode. I see this on my thief (It could only be that sigil proccing) but I never see this randomly on my elementalist.
Can I provide the devs with any other information to help with this bug?
My issue with Orrian events and dungeons are that they are simple zergs with no communication or cooperation (other than revives and combined DPS). Its very hard (jmpossible) to design tactical events/raids with unlimited numbers potentially participating.
Adding a raid event similar to what I posted above (say, without the token) just adds to the game. The reward proposed can be obtained in other, easier areas of the game so nothin g is unobtainable for those who do not want to participate in this raid.

A raid boss like this allows for dedicated (Needed) support roles without retraiting. Most classes can perform it for the raid too. Gives guilds the ability to run a dungeon like instance as a guild. If you are a all power, precision, crit dmg build, you can function here with skill while letting allies proect.

Raid Boss 1: Destroyer Harpy Matriarch
Environment: Circular arena.. say, inside a volcano
Base Class: Ranger
Base attack does more damage the farther you are. If you are max range, you are killed in a few hits.
Ability 1: Every 30 seconds, she knocks players back to the wall and rapidly fires arrows similar to the rangers Rapid fire, keeping the long range deadly damage mentioned above on normal attacks.
The knockback cannot be avoided with anything like Stability.
Counter: Use abilities to reflect projectiles or nullify them and move as one unit. Examplss from a few classes:
Elementalist- Earth Attunement w/ Staff: Magnetic Aura (Group)
Guardian- Shield. Shield of Absorbtion. (Group)
Guardian- Skill. Wall of Reflection (Field)
Thief- Skill. Smoke Screen. (Field)
Warrior-Skill. Endure Pain. (May have to rely on others to survive)
Necromancer-Skill. Spectral Wall. (MAYBE. Havnt played necro)
Mesmer-Skill. Feedback. (Group)
Engineer-Shield. Magnetic Shield. (Field)
So on, so forth. Using leaps and teleportations could also work to advance forward to reduce damage from the harpy during this ability too. The 30 seconds, range of the knockback, ect can be adjusted.
Ability 2: Passive Fire Aura that burns folks in a xx range of harpy matriarch.
This ability is designed to deal slow, constant DOT. Healing with Ability 6 can keep this from killing you, but any excess damage could be deadly. Reapplya every 10 seconds.
Counters could be any cure condition (when close to death) but it will be quickly reapplied.
Ability 3: Summon Destroyers (5 total)
This ability is used at 70%/40%/10% HP of the Harpy Matriarch. This summons 5 Destroyers of random types in SET or RANDOM locations in the volcano. They can be champions and/or veterans and apply an aura the increases fire/burning damage on players. Stacks in intensity.
Counter: split the 5 into a group of 2 and 3 so your debuff from these dossnt rise too high and you burn to death from the matriarchs passive aura. A mix of veteran and champions will dictate the kill order. Could be the “hard” part of the fight if your raid force is knocked back by the matriarch and rapid fire ensues while dealing with these.
Reward could be similar to dungeons. A new token type, 30s in cash, and a “dragon” chest. More guild activities, community bonding, communication, ect.

Personally, I wouldnt mind seeing EQ1 style epic quests in GW2 for precursors. Since precursors and legendaries aren’t class specific, just center a story around the weapon itself. Its origin, previous user, how it was lost or sealed away. Creating the legendary can still be the gold sink it is, but getting the precursor can also be centered around more heroic feats. Have this version be bind on aquire and allow the current versions to still be sellable. Everyone wins.
My question to you Tuhtle —- What could be a fitting guild activity other than WvW and PvE Raiding though? IMO, anything else can be done with the general populace. Look at the Orrian temple events —- They are just zerged by everyone. No guild required!
EverQuest (original) had one of the best social systems in my MMO history. Teleportations, Ressurections, Corpse Summons, Corpse retreival, Tracking spawns, Spirit of Wolf requests… and yes, raids. All of these made it worthwhile for people to talk to each other and build long-lasting friendships.
While a few of these do not fit into the new age of MMO’s (Exp loss and ressurections… corpse runs) … I do feel a lot of classes need to have more desirable things to offer other players to encourage lasting communication.
On to my suggestions —- I know most of the population would not like these, but I’ll throw them out there regardless.
Add in area’s that are completely full of Champions, a few Legendaries, and/or Veterans. People will be more apt to group up and farm these area’s for drops. This will also encourage people to run around in Tyria more than they do now. (Adjusting Diminishing Returns would be required for this though —- No one likes DR)
Removes waypoints. Yes, it’s an inconvenience to what we currently have. However, open up the asuran portals to the Vigil, the Priory, and Whispers. Charge for use so currency is still being removed from the game. This allows for teleportation spells for a few classes. There will now be more socialization (and a market) for teleportation.
Make encounters more difficult. When a group struggles, it encourages discussion (or critizing) with the player. Let’s take the Claw of Jormag as an example —- If you get hit by his ice spikes he shoots out, freeze the character in a block of ice that cannot be undone until another player releases them. A lot of the Orrian events should be beefed up considerably to require multiple groups working together (and not just zerg it) … This is similar to a raid, but anyone can join in and help.
Require team work for some jumping puzzles or general PvE area’s. Similar to the dredge fractal —- Have a catapult where one player must launch another one over a gate, then a switch to let the other person in.
World of Warcraft (Gasp) had a wonderful Simon Says event in Burning Crusade that was a lot of fun. You could do it solo, but with a group you could spawn a mini boss which was better loot.

This is how we overcame this issue —-
I logged into his necromancer on MY COMPUTER.
He logged into MY elementalist on HIS computer.
I was able to bypass this cutscene on a DIFFERENT character using the same PC.
This also happened over five times earlier in the forgotten temple story quest with Sayeh. I would crash after using the 2nd orb in the room EVERY time. I had my partner (when he got home from work) log in my elementalist to complete it, and I played his necro… same thing. We were able to complete it without crashing.
My partner and I have been attempting “Estate of Decay” story line quest. I am an elementalist and he is a necromancer.
First —- We have the exact same motherboards, rams, processors, and video cards. We purchased them at the same time for another PC game.. Both of our video drivers are the same.
I am crashing on my computer on my elementalist when attempting this storyline quest. It ALWAYS crashes at the same spot.. when Lord Kitah says “Let me entertain YOU” and the cutscene ends. I get a black screen of death that causes my PC to totally reboot.
As I begin leatherworking (after tailoring), I begin to ask myself why we can gather food, ore, gems, wood, and other material usable for the other crafting professions… but we’re unable to do this for cloth and leather.
Why not add into the loot tables for goats/deer and allow them to drop leather? They mostly go unkilled.
Add a new plant into the game to allow us to harvest fibers to make into cloth.
It’s challenging enough to gather the claws, blood, venom sacs, ect.. Make it a tad easier for the folks that require leather/cloth!

I am starting to see many teleporting node gatherers again. I am growing more concerned because I had a friend a few months ago get his account stolen and it was operated as many of these node gathering bots are. However, he was one of the rangers that you saw running circles around. Prior to the hack, he was broke. He returned with 50 gold from the botters running his character 24/7. He doesnt play anymore, so I dont feel guilty saying anything now, but he still has this gold on his character.
My concern is that all these bots that are gathering at the speed of light… Is the similar thing happening with the resources they gather? Is it just there waiting to be claimed by the proper owner of the account?
While I do report every one of these bots I am able to target, right click and report… I feel like the damage they do is permanent and the management is overloaded trying to deal with this issue.
As I progressed through my storyline as a sylvari, I thought Caithes romance with Faolin was very sweet—-lesbian or not. I felt like I just got to know Caithe on a personal level AFTER adventuring with her through countless missions.
I think its wonderful character development and it was definetly not thrown in my face. She is now my favorite member of Destinys Edge. I bought the book to lear. More about thier group.
