Yeah, you want the torch trait from Radiance for the extra burn duration to keep Zeal 2 and the Radiance minor 5 traits rolling.

I am positive that untraited the SoP disappears inbetween rotations. I use hammer untraited all the time. The +2 seconds makes it a permanent effect. I just tested this in game. There may be a slight graphical overlap, but it doesn’t seem that, according to my combat log time stamps, there is a damage overlap as well.

I think it would be very interesting if they made Glacial Heart a grandmaster trait, and made it so it changed VoJ from a burn to a chill with appropriate durations. It would really give Guardians a soft CC capability they don’t currently have with an appropriate downside (the loss of burn, a strong condition even without condi damage).

I’ve seen this idea around before, and I think it has merit.

The way I remember it working with Hammer AA is that your new symbol will appear just as the old symbol dissipates. In this way, you’ll constantly have a symbol on the deck ticking damage, vuln, and giving prot.

That was a cruel trick, even for a mesmer! :P

of course you can run a build without grenade or bomb kit. but to answer your question no you won’t be viable at all.

The thing is, if a build without grenades or bombs isn’t viable, why do engineers who run them see success? It’s that kind of opinion that stifles build innovation. I can think of 3 engies off the top of my head who are well respected and do very well without using either of those kits.

Lets assist each other instead of bashing those who want to try something.

I’ve never liked condi, so I’ve always run engie power. This has been the best build I have tried over the past 8 months.

This is what I do for WvW roaming and small groups. The same build works in PvE with gear changes as well. I’ve found it extremely effective and fun!

Unfortunately, it is. The offensive power of berserkers lies not in the power, but in the multiplicative nature of the power plus the precision and crit damage. Healing power, as a stat, is not good for PvE due to the encounter design. It’s great for a healing bomb frontline build in WvW though!

I agree. Due to the increase of WXP generation and the liquid experience having some sort of stacking buff is almost required to be competitive in a roaming setting. Granted, I don’t have one yet, and we still win fights, but I know having 2500 more health would make things easier, not to mention the 350 more power/condi damage.

I really should start running stacking sigils/WXP buffs. >< When you look at the numbers it just starts to get silly.

I love it when people who gloat too much are served reality via a quaggan spike.

[HP] are well known hackers, and they have been doing it for a long time, a few months now at least. We have posted videos, sent in reports, and nothing has happened. If we posted about it, we would get infracted.

That’s just how hacking is here. It’s accepted, and it’s something you just deal with. At least take heed in the fact that they need to hack to win, and don’t have the skill to actually do it themselves.

I am going with Knight’s… BUT I’m the only engineer in GW2 that likes this profession more than any other while also hating their condition and static discharge specs :p

I’m not a big condition fan either. I currently run 0/30/20/20/0 FT/EG spec for WvW with Celestial. I’m slowly working to Celestial ascended, which I think will be worth the work. I prefer the more utilitarian specs.

I would like to say that I have been very pleasantly surprised by the conduct of SF’s roamers this week. I have had good fights with quite a few, and upon talking to them, have found them to be very nice chaps that are well worth speaking with and saying “good fight” too.

That is complete nonsense. AR is beating SF and Kpop at EVERY single turn. We are taking lead because our WvWvW game has skyrocketed. Yup, we are taking advantage of coverage gaps…but that’s not the entirely we’re wining. Hell it’s prime time for everybody right now and we’re still leading. Hmm. Crazy.

I’m only recanting the (generalized) sentiment in one of the largest wub servers on SF — it has nothing to do with how well AR is playing. Clearly you guys are king of the hill now so please proceed to berate us with the usual ad hominem attacks and “lol coverage wars” rebuttals.

Funny thing is we’re not like that. Yes, we have some bad apples that I wish would not chest beat. However, in general we understand how this is going, and we know the feeling of being on the bottom. Thus, we are both gracious in victory and defeat. To do anything else would be silly. What serves as our server leadership (not me) has stated publicly to not chest beat and to be gracious.

Remember, it’s just a game! Win or lose, lets just have fun! Trust me, AR has plenty of practice at the having fun while losing part.

Most of us are trying very hard not to let our recent successes go to our heads. As you can see by this thread, we remind each other that not very long ago we were at the bottom, so do not brag or get uppity. This is just a game, and we’re all here to have fun.

In my defense I did get on last night, it was just after you left. Whereupon I did kick some butt with Ruru and Blonde Thunder. Even had some good 1v3’s playing defense. A good time was had by all.

I saw DR hitting our stuff while we were focusing GoM, you kept doing it, and we hit your stuff to keep you occupied, then went back to GoM. There is no double team if GoM isn’t in on it. They have been focused much harder than DR.

However, due to the attacks on Overlook we had to take action. We have a goal this week, and if I have to keep staying up until 4am to do it by Goddess I will. AR has a chance for the first time since March to take first, and I will do my part to make it happen..

I obviously cant speak for every minute of the day, but when I have been on we attack both GoM and AR, we push gom in eb till they are gone or become to much to handle with our numbers then we look at you guys.

Also since you guys have had a presence in DR bl every day of the match up its a little hypocritical of you to get upset and try to act like you guys have never touched anything green this week.

All that said, AR has always been a class act in my memory and the rest of us should remember that and not let a few poor winners ruin the reputation of a good server.

Agreed. One of the great things that we have down here in the Bronze League is a decent set of people. The matchup threads for some of the higher tier servers can be vicious!

Also, I apologize if I seemed hypocritical. I know we have been hitting DR hard, but it has not been our focus, the only reason it changed was the attacks on our EB keep. I am by no means saying that we are not attacking you at all. This week AR has been very equal opportunity with our attacks as we are focused on a goal.

As always, it is a pleasure having a good match, and I hope that our new found resurgence does not harm relations with other servers. As I have said many times before, this is a game, for all of us. There is no reason to be mean or spiteful to each other, no matter where we place in the match.

Eh, I really don’t think AR is in a good spot to be talking about other servers having a significant amount of bad apples. Dh was able to behave itself perfectly during the FUN-ASAP GvG (good fights by the way, to both) until we got repeatedly knocked of the wooden platform by various AR trolls. Even then, only 2 of our people responded, the rest just stayed and REPEATEDLY had to fend off AR attacks/troll attempts for the remainder of the evening.

What is even worse is before that, while Dh was trying to get to the GvG to watch it (and even when [fun] arrived for the GvG), we were getting killed in the arena randomly and were getting spawn camped by like 8 people.

I have never seen such poor behavior from so many people in a bronze server… ever.

Honestly all around the amount of emote spamming, poor behavior is fairly on par with every other match up I have been in. You may not do it, and good for you, but players from every server do. Don’t kid yourself and think your server is special and honorable, no server is. Emote spammer = trash player, and every server out there has them. Trolls tend to be bored and feel that this is a good way to amuse themselves, I don’t condone it, but you can’t control the entirety of a server population. Best thing you can do is get past it and move on.

To the DH that said “It’s AR, wipe them and move on”, you seem to think that it’s easy to beat an AR player. Come at me bro.

I agree completely, note that I’m not trying to single out AR any more than necessary. I’m just saying that Dh isn’t the only server that has exhibited exceedingly poor behavior in this matchup.

I agree, and all of it is deplorable. I wish there was a magic wand that we could wave and all ensure that everyone acts like adults, but I know that doesn’t happen. Happy Thanksgiving!

[VC] and [DHE] seems to be the main culprits I have evidence for. I took a screenshot of a particular bad case. I fought them 3v1, didn’t run, and downed 1 but couldn’t spike before they got me, here is the result. The sit spam was the thief doing a GW2 version of a tbag. I have no problem dying, and I will fight until I fall, but the child-like actions of DH this whole match have been deplorable. It’s almost constant.

I know no server is perfect, it seems some AR have been trolling DH GvGs, which makes sense the way DH has been acting, but that does not make it right. We all need to remember this is a game, and we all do it for fun. Emote spamming and generally being a kitten just ruins it for people and is unbecoming.

Also of note, if you WvW often or have a ton of achievement points and thus Badges of Honor you can use them to purchase zerkers armour in WvW. It’s a decent looking set as well. (I’m expounding on the above post to ensure comprehension and offer the achievement points option).

He’s not AR, we’re red this week. Thank you for the compliment on doing our best. We’ve gotten a lot better the past few weeks and are climbing up the ranks. About night capping, it happens when a server has better coverage than you. Complaining about it when ANet has already said that’s how it works is a waste of your time. If you are on a server in such a situation just try to focus on something fun in WvW to detract from the score, like focus on taking 2nd and proving to others your server is improving.

Perhaps instead of invulnerability you gain Iron Hide whenever you’re inside a structure you own?

If you like complexity of an engineer but need something new I would recommend a mesmer or an elementalist. Especially if you find the warrior and guardian lacking. Both of those caster classes can actually be quite tanky if built correctly. Good luck!

I would like to remind ET that this is a game. A place to have fun. We are all here to do just that. Therefore, when someone tries to defend a camp against 9 of you solo, lives for over 5 min, and then finally dies, it is not considered appropriate to spam emotes, jump on their corpse, and do other unsportsmanlike behaviour. It was a guild group, and that just reflects poorly upon the server. I will not call out names, as I just want us to treat each other with respect.

Please do so, this is just a game for all of us, lets keep it civil.
