I haven’t played GuildWars in a while, I was hoping I could get a brief update on the state of pretty much everything that matters that surrounds PvP.

Lots of people got burned on lack of pvp stream views in the past, but it’s never too late, time to drop the past and move forward, call up that contacts list and make it happen

WoW seems like the better option right now dude (yep, I said it). The reason people are frustrated is because they’re not seeing what ArenaNet promised. It’s horse kitten.

I’ve been off since Jan 28th for obvious reasons (no new features, people quitting, etc).
I thought the game population had improved a lot because of new tournaments, matchmaking, etc… and all I see is:
-90% of my friend list offline (only the Curse guys are on)
-Good teams disbanded and those players quit (Fearless Team, Devils Inside…)
-Other good players quit (Lekira, Kirei, Tokyo, Tedsie, etc…)
-Best teams are not playing that much (Onibawan, CN…)
-People stopped streaming

Can someone explain me what has happened? O_O

I hope everyone that still plays gets what they deserve this month. A decent PvP patch with custom games and a ladder. I’m happy to start all over from the beginning again when that glorious day arrives. Don’t ruin it ArenaNet, please

Tournaments would be so much better if you only had to fight over one point. Get some true 5v5s going and see who is the most skilled in teamfights.

I think the best thing to do would be to be able to directly buy some gold & karma with glory (gems might be a bad idea for anet’s profits). It would be a lot more motivating to play 8v8 public games for those of us who enjoy both pvp and pve!!

This has nothing to do with you farming karma for a PvE item of some description does it? :P

Might be because curse made him play BS when he normally plays PW, or dagger/pistol BS. I can assure you good sir, a thief is capable of a one shot without the use of a macro!

As I was leaving the mid fight when it was safe you mean? I’ve got a bad habit of using things when I don’t need man, ha. I heal at 95% a lot when I shouldn’t also. It was off cooldown before I went back into combat anyway.

I’ve had this kind of feedback before, we do play top teams, and we perform pretty much the same if not better. I just never manage to fraps because i’m stupid. I’ll keep it in mind for next time man.

So this is a video showing how to use the teleport function of wurm with no actual combat. I think most people realize that you can teleport with the wurm. Post a video of you actually using it in the heat of combat and it will be a more effective demonstration.

Just an FYI, Spectral Walk can give you similar results although the return ability timeframe is much shorter.

Go through the videos on the channel if you want in game footage of Wurm use. Spectral Walk isn’t viable for me, so I don’t use it.

Now, this Ace of Spades guy (whoever he is) isn’t known… I had no idea who Super Squad was until today. As a matter of fact, I didn’t know 90% of the people in the last SOTG but that didn’t bother me. I knew that whoever was hosting it did their homework and tried to pick up some great candidates for it. I listened to it, and enjoyed it.

What IS the meta, EU players? Do you sincerely think you set the standard? Arrogance.

Just a few lines I’d like to respond to;

Hey come on, you’re going to be on TV tomorrow and your out here calling people Scrubs, you’re meant to be representing NA’s opinion on the meta dude, set an example.

Anyway, some of the people your play among (won’t name names) have agreed in the past that the EU meta is superior to the US meta, and even tried to come up with new strats to take back to NA from us, just sayin. Me personally, I have no opinion which is stronger, and I don’t really care.

Surely a man with such confidence in his meta/playstyle would not have to spend as much time as you have defending himself from arrogant wildmen from Romania.

And the fact you didn’t know who SS where until today (or yesterday) is a little strange. Don’t get me wrong, i’m not saying omgad SS are the greatest, and all who don’t obey will perish! I’m just saying, even when you type GW2 into YouTube, SS will pop up somewhere. So i’m not sure whether you’re new to the game (or at least relatively new), or you just don’t do your research on EU teams and the EU meta, which would explain why you haven’t a clue on how advanced it is compared to the US meta I guess. But once again, I don’t have an opinion on this topic, i’m just acting as this threads Columbo.

To summerize this for you because you clearly can’t understand he started this thread basically saying that the NA scene has no merit to voice their opinions on the state of pvp in this game. He believes NA to be far behind EU and is upset that more EU players weren’t invited, even though in the last state of the game not one NA player was asked to participate.

I think what Master of Disaster is trying to stress is that having Xeph represent EU’s opinions on the meta might not be the best option for something that will be broadcasted to the whole of the GuildWars2 community. That’s all, there’s no need for a beef yo, we love you americans

It’s basically dead. It’s not dead because of lack of ladder system/spectator mode or even custom arenas. It’s dead because it’s simply not fun. It would be nice for them to let us know what their future plans are besides “ladders,spec mode, custom arenas!” because I’m 99.99% sure that will revive sPvP for only a week or two at most.

I went from playing GW1 PvP ALL the time(15+hours a week) to playing GW2 sPvP for like no more than 10 minutes a week. Shouldn’t of changed what worked great.

“Why Won’t ANET talk about sPvP?!”. When people have jobs, normally staff are entitled to Christmas holidays (days off) to spend time with family/loved ones. Here’s a link of an interview of ANet talking about PvP before the Christmas period (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hByqoWsnz-I), where J Sharp (believe it or not!!!) does actually talk about sPvP. He also specifically mentions that staff at ArenaNet will be taking holiday at some point, which kind of messes things up/slows things down etc as you could imagine. I hope this provides you with a better insight on why you may not of heard from ArenaNet of late. Good luck in PvP dude

Needs to be lowered. It seriously reduces the competitive capacity of paids if some teams or players have to do four hours of frees just to do one paid. I suggest lowering the requirement from 5 to 3.

FLFW, my wayward son. You haven’t a clue. GuildWars2 has the best PvP mechanics/playstyle i’ve seen in any MMO, and others would agree. It is by far the superior MMO right now if you look at it in that light. What Ayraswag is trying to say is that he understands what potential this game had (and still has i guess), and it’s a mighty great big shame to see it being treated like this, and that is why he’s annoyed (as are many, many others). We don’t care for PvE, we don’t care about Wintersday, we just want Leader boards, Spectator mode, Tournaments, and publicity. We understand things take time, but ANet have had enough time.
