I got my Tiger!
Took me since launch but I finally did it!
The boss of dragons stand is insane, but we did it with a PUG just being coordinated over the map chat.
I took an active role in the attempt also, ushering people in with the LFG and doing what the commanders said.
Was worth all the effort!
Just keep trying and you can get yours too!
P.S. Bring a teleport to friend if you want the Electric Wyvyrn, makes it a ton easier.
Most will miss the mark.
The true problem does not exist in the product but with the market.
Those who think will understand the sentiment of this age old quote of Aristotle;
A friend to all is a friend to no one, and thee loudest voice is that of the annoying minority.
Take heart, for the amount of money Anet has made off this glorious expansion far outweighs the undying kitten of the common millennial forum warrior.
God bless the queen!
I’ve over 40 years old. All I want to do is play the new content with my Elite spec rather than play through the content to get the spec. It seems like a pretty reasonable request.
It is as reasonable as a new player asking to have a level 80 to experience the core content right when they buy the game.
Grow up, learn to play the game like a child, so actually, maybe grow down, cause your ego is self inflated.
P.S. You are not over 40. Guessing more like 14.
And you think that effectively calling other people’s liars instead of engaging with their argument makes you look any older?
I am a toys R us kid bro.
I absolutely love the expansion.
Sue me.
Grow down, bro, grow down.
How do you know I am a “bro”?
Sorry, if you are a madame I apologize.

OP is obviously an Anet fanboy. be seeing you.
I beg to differ.
I was not going to buy the expansion, it seemed lackluster and boring when I first read about it.
But I have been to hell and back looking for something worth playing for the past year, most games blow lately, maybe Black Desert will be good, but other than that the landscape looks farely dry.
Decided to give this expansion a go(had 3 80’s beforehand) when my friend that used to play came back, and man, I am very glad I did.
The expansion is so well crafted…the level design, the gating, the grind..it really appeals to me for many reason…let me count the ways;
1. Instant gratification only leads to dissatisfaction(some of the younger generation doesn’t understand this)
2. Game resembles Zelda like progression with the gating(I know it is behind a grind aspect, but this is a MMO let us not be foolish)
3. Atmoshpehere: Game is bursting at the seems with gameplay and atmosphere to the point that I could not explain it to someone who did not experience it.
4. The world is like one big open world dungeon: sweet.
5. Dragon’s Stand: Love it, cant wait to be in a server that has the gumption to get me acess to the Tiger pet.
6. The gating has really got my dopamine receptors pumping like the old days of gaming.
So much more could be said after my weekend long session of playing but I will leave that to the players to experience.
God bless America!
Instead, also give us mounts of the same mechanic like horses and tigers and dinosaurs.
$$$$&

I’m 5 hero points away from getting my last trait for Reaper, took about 2 days of just playing the game, not farming. Relax and play the game for fun dude.
Seriously….
People are so kitten spoiled can’t see the kitten forest through the trees.
This game is a lot of fun….chill out, sit back, and enjoy it for what it is, not for what you want it to be.

What you need to do is take a break, and even more breaks after that. You are playing in an unhealthy way
Pretty much.
I have played about 26 hours since Friday at 4:30pm.
And, I want more.

I am loving my Druid and glad that I have things to look forward to unlocking as I play the game.
Game is way better then I thought it would ever be.
Feels like a gigantic Zelda game only better.
Graphics, gameplay, and the atmosphere are amazing.
1. Get in blob.
2. Run with blob
3. Die at beginning of each fight and lay there.
4. Ask for rez when fight is over.Repeat for 3 months.
If that is how you play the game I feel sorry for you.

I’m playing a reaper myself and all you need is 60 HP to unlock the elite specialization (you get an exotic greatsword plus the associated skin) and another 15 HP to unlock the first minor trait that allows you to go into reaper shroud. That means a total of 75 HP gives you 10 new abilities to play with.
That is enough to feel like a reaper and enjoy playing it. You absolutely don’t need 400 HP to enjoy playing a reaper. Sure, you won’t be the most effective reaper possible due to lack of reaper-traits and utility skills but at least you get a sense of progression once you unlock everything else step by step
Also I suggest trying to change your own behaviour instead of asking arenanet to cater to your self-imposed restrictions (“I don’t want to do PVE content”)
good luck & have fun
Because running around with a sub-optimal build isn’t really on the cards and shouldn’t be the case for anyone. Gating skills / traits and utilities behind a grind wall, especially one that involves RNG unless you’re pigeonholed into one gametype is bad design. They should be available in all sections of the game, not just in one (pvp).
When you make your character he doesn’t pop out level 80 with all skills, he is sub-optimal.
Then you progress in the game to build your character.
Expansion is no different.
Hope this helps.
Definitely. Would be way more fun to play with this change.
Was claimed by someone in chat that after beating the bosses and event to open up the entrance at “Yellow”, the red circle area is where juvenile tigers will be at Dragons Stand
That’s the northern blighting tower (the big red circle), tigers certainly can’t be there. Unless you mean they are by the yellow dot?
There is a spot by broken alter that has a vet tiger and normal tigers, but I didn’t see any juveniles. It could be that certain conditions must be met before they spawn though. Who knows.
Where near broken alter were the tigers?
Edit: The tigers are directly northwest of the Broken Alter writing on the map, in a cove.
Gonna try and camp this place through the tiers of the map, night and day, I will report my findings.

i think it’s paint chips.
You have had too many.
10/10 no lie. The game is epic, best expansion i’ve ever played.
I agree.
Game is fun as hell, feel bad for all the people who can not enjoy this game as it is a total blast.
Really nailed the difficulty and progression rate here Anet!
Glad it will take me a while to unlock my mastery and elite spec so I have goals to work toward while I play!
Keep up the good work Anet!
Remember, for every person complaning on the forums there is 10 people off enjoying this grand game!
Do not cave to the the vocal minority!
You made a masterpiece here!
Lovin the game!
Just finished a 12 hour session. I had an epic time.
One of the most fun I have had with an expansion. Top notch.
Love my Druid. Love my new Smokescale pet. Love the jungle.
Love this game.
Sweet Dreams.
No sign of the tiger?
Let’s consider some other expansions:
Diablo III’s expansion lasted 3-4 hours, with all replay ability being found in grinding harder difficulties of these levels. It costed $50 at launch.
GTA IV’s expansion episodes lasted around 10-20 hours, and were priced at a total of $40 for both.
Destiny, the Taken King, lasts around 15-20 hours, and raids were incrementally released after launch. It costs $40.
Based off of these, I’d say HoT is pretty reasonably priced, considering the amount of content it contains is actually more than any of the aforementioned examples.
Totally agree.
Just went through the first 2 story missions, and I enjoyed them immensely.
From reading all of the crying about how hard the new zones are I also must say I am looking forward to a challenge as I venture into the jungle…I am hoping to get trapped/stuck/confused as much as possible. Most MMO’s never have a high difficulty so this will be quite nice.
I only need 14 more hero points to unlock my Druid skill line and begin shooting my lazer beam with my staff…very excited.
It is raining quite a bit here and I hope to play all weekend.
Thanks Anet for all the hard work!
What would mounts even do? As above, we already have waypoints so we don’t need faster travel. Mounted combat would be a massive overhaul, and either has to completely change how we play or isn’t any different at all.
You would ride the mount about the map, it would be a huge boost to immersion and would be fun to collect them.
Would be fun just to ride your Mount around for role play reasons. I dont even care if they give much of a boost, maybe 10% only in PVE.
+1 for mounts!
Mounts would be fun as hell and could make a killing for them on the Black Lion Trading.
I forsee mounts.
oh man what great news!
Three cheers for druids!
Yes, they really need to change this. We do not attack like a melle so why should we stand like one?
The ranged staff stance fits better by far.
Please change this.

+1 for Duels
