Well we could have the electric eel trap for underwater for a good shock wrap.
And how about a hermit crab trap looks like a rock but pops out when they near which it then grabs and walks off with them thus dragging them away.
For land there’s always for fun the monkey trap, getting things thrown at you hurts and could stun or confuses the person.
Well other reason why I like the Shortbow over Longbow is the other skills. With Shortbow I get cripple and stun plus quick shot so that’s 3 control skill vs 1 point blank shot of the longbow.
If you still want to hit multi targets with shortbow grab the priece arrow 20 trait skill from the Markmanship.
Personally for me water pet wise I gone with Red Jellyfish (better F2 skill then Blue’s and Jellyfish have an aoe regen field skill) and Armour fish for a good tank class plus F2 skill is a stun.
As for land I gone with Jungle Spider (range attacks, poison, and bind attacks, F2 skill not quite working as attended binds instead of stun) and Murellow (bear tank class with F2 aoe poison since only one type of mob immune to poison).
Ok I have had this happen often enough to think it’s a bug, Shortbow “Quick Shot” will not always result in retreating backwards at times. I just jump up in same spot without actually moving and this is when I do not have have any bind or tarren issues.
Nature Magic 5 point trait ability gain regeneration when health reachs 75% doesn’t seem to trigger very often escially if you suffer big damage and doesn’t stack with Signet of the Wild.
Oakheart Salve also doesn’t tigger regeneration if you have Signet of the Wild up even though you are in fact either bleeding, poison, or burning. Some times doesn’t tigger on it’s own without having Signet of the Wild up.
Oh and why do our pet names keep reverting back to Juvenile? Seems at some random point it just changes back to it’s default name.

“Obstructed” I find it funny in a bad way, how I get this message at times from non-moving ojects like towers, ballists and such even though nither one of us has moved. To me I find bow to be buggy about half the time when attacking and then getting these odd messages, like “Obstructed” “Missed” and my all time pain “Invulnable.”
I really can’t understand how that last one happens when the mobs not used any skill, seriously I have time and time again checked the mob’s active skills list to see how they all the sudden “Invulnable” and yet at same time my pet still able to damage them.
Agreed, I can not really find any viable reason at this time to put 30 points into any of the ranger trait lines as none of them are all that good to warrent the cost. In fact some of the 20 point ones also makes me wonder why bother.
To clarify I certainly get and have noticed crits. I’ve just never seen damage marked in red.
I was referring to the damage numbers abover the mob head not the actual text that appears in the combat log.
Yes damage is marked in red but crits are not in a different color but in fact simply displayed bigger. Meaning regular damage be showing in 12 point and crits in 18 point but same font and same color. Just check your combat log after a fight you will see an occasional damage amount that is higher & bigger then the rest.
For example say your using Dragon’s claw attack and on adverage it’s doing 20-25 damage per hit a crit would then do about 40-55. So you would see attack damage for 22, 23, 45 so that would be 2 regular hits and 1 crit. This would have been displayed in world above the mob as 22, 23 in regular size and a big 45 for the crit.
I would have liked to have seen crits to be shown a little differently myself.
Ok currently sitting at 94% total map completion and hit a minor road block. I have completed all the over world maps with the exception of the WvW maps.
But I have notice in the world listing I got 300/301 on hearts, which was confusing to me. So I had manually gone to all the maps to double check map location % and all register 100% completed so where this 1 heart?
Any help be much apperciated cause it’s driving me a bit nuts as I like to have 100% map completion for the final reward. Thanks.
Ok I think some people over look one tiny detail with the way point costs that it’s both! The costs scale with your level PLUS the further you want to travel from you current location the costs also increases. So we in fact are paying two costs one for level and one for distance, which I agreed a bit much.
Nope, I’m not sure about the karma rewards though.
You may be able to spend it on stuff and bank that, providing it doesn’t soulbind to that character.thanks for reply, but im not really sure what i need to buy yet, just want to save the karma
Most people just buy their aqua breathers via Karma as you can’t get them any where else at this time. Also to buy lv 80 exotic gear or class gear.
No you can’t bank karma and anything with the exception of recipes and mats which are accuont bound, all other karma purchises are soulbound to that character.
You might want to think about which race you want to play as some race/class set ups can be a little redundent in terms of skills you will have advaliable to you. Like for example a Charr Engineer you got gun skills and now more guns skills. But if you like guns then go for it and have fun.
Well the only thing you do face is an increase in cost of re-activating an already leveled craft. The higher the level of that craft the more it’s going to cost you to to activating it again.
But on the plus side certain learned recipes that are shared by multiple crafts will be unlock and listed in all the related crafts. And usable once you new craft reached the required level to unlock them again.
- That each map area karma merchent sell all the same name type gear for that map area. So if looking for lv 50 gear that does not have cleric name ie healing stats don’t think the next heart merchent in that map area will have a different name gear you need to change maps. (Same goes for gear drops it’s limited to 2 or rare 3 names, so cleric & savage or travaler & knight)
- We can not craft aqua and back gear (need to find that special karma merchent)
- Yes you can get better aqua gear (wasn’t aware of this till lv 50)
- Yes we get back gear and it’s not a guild cape (lv 35 personal story line when I saw it for the frist time)
