I feel he has a great point. I yearn for more interaction in the cities. The eye candy is wonderful, and the living dynamic world beckons me to engage. There is lots of opportunity for growth

On the elemental – Meteor Shower…“How embarrassing”
Necromancer – well, at least I died less
Ranger – combo of range and a bit more health …. This has possibilities.
Warrior – oh, that was easier
Guardian – I am still alive, and I have options to do actual damage. Nice.
All PVE open world experiences.
AOE nerfs seem they would cripple the most vulnerable professions.

I certainly hope they get their perceptions worked out. My poor little new alt is without cloth and bag, so good thing the early characters worked out heroic feats and brought home the loots It is different now even at the lowest levels where I spend most of my casual time. I wonder what will keep the population holding on? Perhaps I am in a minority, but I do wish it would get fixed. Really not playable as an entertaining game and seems to me a company would lose something, for instance, paying customers. Sigh.

Drop rate not what I thought it was

It would seem to me that in the end, the best situation would a happy and satisfied customer that thought spending money gave a return for enjoyment and fun. I think the account bound RNG could use some work. The Halloween minis offered a solution that left me feeling much more satisfied. I don’t know how the bottom line profits compare, in the short or long term, but I do know, that even if I spend money, eventually I will run into a lack of money or disappointment with loot acquisition, from the RNG method of the Mystery Boxes. The allure is there and it is very tempting, and even fun, for awhile. Buyer beware, fer sure.

Wintersday is a letdown compared to Halloween

I’ll chime in. I enjoyed the time frame of presentation for Wintersday. I think the rewards could use some work, in variety and how they are presented. Halloween had a too intense of a time frame, but the scavenger hunt style was enjoyable. I am a very casual player, I take my time with everything, and don’t have a lot of time anyway. I mostly stick to the open world, and rarely set foot in dungeons, so can’t comment on dungeons. I would like to see more open world activity like the Halloween Doors, that was fun and interesting. I stuck my nose into the Mad King Realm, and that was great for a dungeon feel without having to group up. I like being able to make choices on where to run around for experiences and loots. Hope the devs can continue to improve on play styles and loot parameters because overall the art design is great. I’d be more satisfied with a less stringent loot drop, and a bit more variety on how to acquire. The stories engaged me more in Halloween, so I hope the lore grows in depth a bit more.

Oh, I loved the bell, didn’t realize it wasn’t permanent. (My fault) But sure would like a permanent one. Something else to do in town while standing around in house clothing…
Anyhooz, BELL, super idea.

Bit of an odd question.

Kunshu,
Yah, what Aeleniel said. I would only add, my therapist told me, “It’s an inside job”. And that was about 25 years ago. It’s a journey, that’s fer sure, and you just put one foot in front of the other and keep on keeping on. Your descriptions of where you are, and where you are headed sound quite mature and thoughtful to me, for what it’s worth. It’s progress, not perfection. Feelings of loneliness and lack of connection are definitely something a good therapist should be able to address. Best of luck with your studies and your journey.

I had a weird dream last night. I had accumulated 250 porous bones and was thinking there might come a time (soon) when a new item would be available for trading. Yah, haha funny, weird conspiracy nightmare dream. geesh. Funny thing is, I really am a totally casual player and have recently noticed I am just trying to keep enough coins to waypoint around the lower levels just for adventure. I have no intention of amassing golds or even armors, and yet the drops/lack of drops are affecting me. Nothing scientific here, but something is not right.

Bit of an odd question.

Someone told me long ago, “Want a friend, BE a friend”
All good advices from others here, and if you truly think it is something odd about you (a lot of people think it’s just them), don’t be afraid/ashamed to seek out a therapist or some kind of professional help. At the very least you may gain a sounding board to test out some of your thoughts. Expanding your world might be fun or scary, so reaching out here and other places is a great first step. Good luck to you.

A reasonable post OP, well said. I think it takes a bit of bravery to post. I carved out time for the events, and as it turned out, got called to work and missed some things. Not a big deal for me, but I did experience horrible lag in the very beginning on Fri. I tried to play catch-up with the events on Saturday and that was less than satisfying too. Personally it is much easier for me to miss any event or game when I am not satisfied with the results. The fact is, if I enjoy my experience, I will continue spend time. When I spend time, I will invariably spend money. I am mostly a casual player with a little money to spend. The consequences of a poor product rests with the company. I vote with my feet, and the company will see the results in their earnings. I do hope they work it all out, I’ll probably check in once in awhile to see how it goes, but there is nothing compelling me at this time. I have my dislikes and likes and many have covered those issues throughout these forums. It’ll all add up, one way or the other. Best to all.

Sadly, the FoV needs more adjustment, along with the vertical position and camera postion in relation to the character. My Asura can see more, but still infuriatingly looking at the ground, and in-close view is worthless. Sigh. The MK bug gave a brief respite from looking either up my nose or my backside. I simply can’t see what I am doing. The MK bug also showed me this world I have been trying to explore. Good gosh it really is a beautiful and wondrous place! Gonna be hard logging in because I get more frustrated than joy. Please keep working this, your game deserves it!

Very nice improvement. Thanks so much. I can see what I am doing a little better now. There is a sky, and the tops of your beautiful buildings are visible. I will definitely be taking a look around this world with renewed interest. You’ve done a service to your customers and are a great credit to your artists. Smiles all around. An improvement on the vertical field and a bit of work on the camera adjusting to collision objects are certainly warranted for a plus/plus mark. Go superior and adjust the camera closer to the character so we can see in front of us and you will have done justice to your amazing game world and artistic team. We want to see it ALL in all it’s glory. Nice job!

I really want to play your game, really. But...

Fun Things You Have Done

So last night, I was just doing my final map exploration and hunting down the last skill point. Happened to be a cave with a tricky entrance, and I go bumbling into a Veteran Skelk. Managed that encounter adequately but I don’t see the Skill. A little hunting and I find it! yay! Oh, oops, now there is a Veteran Spider-L60! (Why, oh why do I bumble into these predicaments) I give a valiant try, but go down, alas. Now I am in the middle of nowhere, in the back of behind, probably on an empty map sigh. I figure I’ll give a shout out to any heroic explorer and see if I can get a rescue. Normally I would be too shy, but I figure, what the heck. One explorer tells me Koss is drinking and we figure Gwen is busy writing love songs (just some fun banter). So I eventually rez back to a few waypoints away, as the nearest is contested (of course). Here’s the most fun part: As I arrive back at the cave, several other explorers join me and we take on the big bad Veterans and win the day! I am sorry to say that the Heroes melted into the night before I could get my mind together to get their names. Seems like a small thing, but ’twas a wonderful and fun experience.

Why is the camera so focused on the floor???

I doubt GW2 will die, only wish I could play. I still keep trying to play so I mostly end up standing around I’ll jump to a place I want to explore, get in quick, and run in a straight line with no looking around unless I find a vista or space that is safe for breathing. Big fan here, hanging in there for now. I was wondering if the vertical point of view being low could be handled independently of the FOV? My poor Asura knows the dirt and ground textures very well. (Half the time from being downed If they could fix that one thing a lot of the frustrating overall camera control issue would be improved.

The very first time I played I experienced a pounding headache and nausea. I never connected my ‘illness’ to the game tho. About a week ago I was scanning through the forums and saw one of the threads explaining FOV issues. CLICK! I have been sick for a month! and now I know why. I didn’t play GW2 for most of last week and I was finally feeling better by Friday. I truly love this game, and want to enjoy the environment and artistic mastery. I tried playing in windowed mode and that does help with the sickness feelings, but what a crying shame I can’t truly enjoy this beautiful world. Sigh. I want to play, but I am slowly giving it up.

heh, thanks for that further comment. I didn’t realize the ‘larger’ mode took it away. It annoyed me for the longest time. I guess it might be considered ‘bug’ report worthy then. Thanks.

I also have that. Are your settings for the font size changed to large? When I resize the window the strange E will be replace with the rest of the text.
