I use mace extensively on my Dragonhunter in HoT, I run a half-burn, half-bunker build. Lots of blocking, lots of aegis, lots of burning. Whenever my real burn skills are on cooldown or a lot of enemies rush in, I just block all their attacks and they practically kill themselves!

I actually made a thread about this, but glad to see another post dedicated to it! I use the action camera exclusively, the only time I turn it off is when I have to throw a ground AOE behind something.

The way mantras worked with action camera was borderline unuseable, and most importantly working differently from every other skill in the game It was very jarring.

The Firebrand Mantras wouldn’t be too bad if they could reach allies, but how they were set up in the beta weekend was horrendous. Terrible range and in a frontal cone only, make the cone 600 and turn with the action camera, then I can get behind them.

Another thing that really bothered me about Mantras, was that since the design intent was to make them different from Mesmer Mantras, well they’re cones and the final charge is stronger, so job well done. Why did you have to add punishing cooldowns on using the final charge? You should halve the cooldowns on the Mantra final charge or make them significantly stronger. It feels awful that I felt like I literally shouldn’t use all of my Mantra charges in almost any situation. It’s even worse when it’s the healing skill.

Change them to a 600 frontal cone, and make the cooldown for using all charges less punishing and I could see myself running a full bar of mantras, but right now? Maybe the stability one in PVE, quickness one in PVP, and the rest will be my familiar Guardian skills.

I would LOVE IT if the healing tome was as strong as Druid, but that’s probably not feasible considering the highly support and defense oriented utility kit Guardian has. While they have never been so good at healing, they have more support options than any other profession and that makes them quite strong in a group.

I would hope they buff the healing tome a bit to be more useful in a variety of situations, but not that they go overboard with it. I love my guardian to bits, I don’t want her nerfed to the ground

Action Camera Firebrand Mantra bug

When using Action Camera on Firebrand, Mantras won’t fire where you’re aiming, they’ll instead fire off in the direction your body is facing.

This is incredibly jarring as pretty much literally everything else fires in the direction you are aiming with Action Camera. Please fix it for PoF launch

It’s 600 range.

In the 8/8/2017 patch notes it specifically stated the Staff 1 has been changed to a wider cone at 110 degrees at 300 range. I see no indication of it having changed in the Beta build with Firebrand

I’d be happy enough if they’d just made the staff 1 a 600 or 900 range projectile with support like bouncing to give regen or protection on an ally, which would give core Guardian another ranged weapon and solves the WvW problem of attacking through gates in one fell swoop. Right now, with 300 range I can’t even place down Line of Warding and attack from behind it.. I just get melee’d through my own ward because I can’t attack from a safe distance!

Remove "Feel the fires of Balthazar" line

It’s already really jarring to hear my human female elementalist say the voiceline “Feel the fires of Balthazar!” when I know that a month from now we’ll all but denounce the whole god and have to fight him because he turns completely insane.

Please remove the voiceline from human elementalists, thanks! I don’t want to be lynched.

I personally like Mantras, and Karl wasn’t in charge of Firebrand this time around, it was Irenio Calmon-Huan (who did the Scrapper and Druid elite specializations).

I don’t mind the cast time but the one change suggest is make them ground target AoEs instead of requiring targets.

They’re not pets anymore, they’re just fancier looking AoE attacks, at least let us ground target them

I agree with this! The spirit weapons themselves seem pretty great when they work, but let us cast them freely like the bow!

Well, basically.. I just had a Stronghold match, nothing special happened there, but after it ended and Heart Of The Mists was loading, the game crashed. I tried logging onto my mesmer again. Crash. Then my thief which was in PVP as well. Crash.

Then I logged onto my ranger, who was in LA. Game seemed to be working fine, so I go into PVP to hope and fix it somehow so it loads the live version instead of anything incorrect, swap characters.. Crash. Now my ranger will also instantly crash upon starting loading. The game is unplayable until support responds and gets my characters out of there

Pigs are in fact amphibious sometimes, but it annoys me a lot that ingame they can not swim! Please make pigs and warthogs able to swim

Reward scaling and guest in Personal Story rewards broken?

Hi, I was under the impression that Dynamic Events that feature bosses and the jump puzzle/mini-dungeon end chests scale by level, and I’m sure that many or if not all of the ones I had done DID scale with level, but do not seem to anymore.

It’s frustrating to see when you finally get to the end of some jump puzzle after dying several times as a level 80, and pull out a couple of level 6 fine quality weapons.

Today I fought Xolotl, the champion of the sun, and was awarded level 15 junk <.< Haven’t dared visit The Shatterer yet, seeing low level rewards from that would be shattering :P

Also, is it intentional that players visiting another player’s Personal Story are not only unable to act in missions with special mechanics (golem bombs come to mind in the first introductory Durmand Priory mission for Sylvari), nor do they get any reward whatsoever for any story mission? I was under the impression that they’re supposed to reward karma if it’s another player’s personal story.
