While roaming the forums around, and the professions sub-forums precisely. I noticed how many are clearly misinformed about guardians. Someone said that guardians are in a good spot, when we actually are not.
Our core problems are not addressed, and that been for a long time. We get nerfed (I don’t mind when getting nerfed is bringing us in line with everyone) when others are clearly in “need” to brought to “earthly matters”.So, why is there none talking about us being broken (in profession balance)? If we are in a good spot, why isn’t the others in line with us? Why are people confusing “Warriors” survivability with “Guardians”?
Are we accepting that we are okay cause someone said we are? Where are all the guardians? I know many re-rolled, or play others, but still.
You said “Someone said that guardians are in a good spot, when we actually are not.”
Can you explain to me what you mean by “we are actually are not (in a good spot)?”
Are you talking about build diversity which all classes need help with or that guardian are useless in any given game mode? If it is the first then is should be a general qq post about how ALL classes should have more build diversity since that seems to be a universal problem. If it is the later, I really don’t know about to say…

Ask thieves in this thread how they feel about Prismatic Understanding (mesmer GM trait). In their responses, replace the word “mesmer” with “thief” and the words “Prismatic Understanding” with “Shadow Arts”.
That’s your answer.
I’m sure any thief would swap PU with SR in a heartbeat…..
I’m sure you would but he said SA not SR.,,
Thieves heal to much, haha, whenever you think you seen it all…
Playing warrior damages your brain, something like 10/30/30/0/0 will never hit 10k backstabs, and to get the healing numbers you describe you’d have to get SA and Acrobatics to 30 points if you do that your backstab will crit for less than 2k on 2.5k armor.
Your “infamous” 10/0/30/0/30 S/D build is a joke.
10/30/30 D/P haha, HAHA!!!
10/30/30 could maybe hit a
nakedglassy ele that high, but no one cares about them.
And a 10/0/30/0/30 sounds like a good p/d condi spec
FYI
10/30/30/0/0 with executioner
With power signet and 6 stacks of might, full stacks, ascended gear and food. Your attack should be around 3800.
2770 power * 1030 wpn damage = 2853100*2.4 = 6846440/2000 armor (other GC cloth or medieum armor class) = 3423 *3 (1.5 base crit damage + 1.5 crit damage from gear, food, traits, sigil, and runes) = 10271.6
If 2200 armor, 9128 damage.
If 2500 armor, 8215 damage.
If 3000 armor, 6846 damage
If 3500 armor, 5868 damage
etc, etc, etc.
What is so theoretical? A dodge causes the direct damage to fail to do damage. A dodge fails to apply the condition. Blocks, fail to apply conditions, just as they do with a direct damage attack. You mention “endure pain" as if it is relevant, have you ever heard of “Berserker Stance”, it has an 8s duration, while “endure pain” has a 4 s duration. That is double the duration of the skill that prevents conditions compared to the skill that prevents direct damage, with the same cool down.
You are implying that direct damage skills are for some reason more difficult to make contact with then condition applying skills. That is simply not true. It seems to be a common argument though. I have yet to have anyone prove to me that it is, in any way, easier to land the skills that apply conditions then it is the ones that apply direct damage.
When you focus on the idea that CC conditions are effected by stats that condition builds use, it appears you also seem to forget all of the knock downs, knock backs, and blow out effects that direct damage skills apply, or other CC such as guardians ring of warding.
Have you ever wonder why berserker stance is 8 secs and endure pain is only 4 secs? Once you figure that out, it is /thread.
But really, it is comparing apples to oranges.
I will probably not reply or comment in this thread again but I want to throw this out there. Anet is nerfing condi build albeit slowly. e.g. dhumfire nerf next patch. Also, if condition wasn’t so powerful you wouldn’t have the monster warrior that it is today and Anet would have ever put diamond skin in for ele. We can think whatever we want to but at the end of the day, Anet decides what is OP and what needs to be toned down. You can clearly see it in the balancing patch that they do want to tone down condition to an extend by putting in more cleanses (e.g. increase cleases for Mesmer on heal trait or hard counters).

or simply reread my comment in your second thread concerning this problem?! really?!
I’ll repeat my post too:
Why should stealth-openers get a reprieve that the average skill in GW2 does not have? Cool-downs are there to reward opponent’s for good counter-play; and clutch counter-play is the name of the game in GW2 because we have no dedicated healer/damage-mitigation class. Stealth should be treated on the same level as any other skill in the game. It only makes sense.
My post brings up points to argue. Your post simply says “No, I don’t like it.” “No, I don’t like it,” is not an argument.
I’ll answer you. ALL #1 abilities in this game have no cooldown. There you go, have a cookie.

Back in GW1, Mesmer’s were the Kings of Hex’s. No other profession had so many different hex spells. As a player, you had to learn all these different spell icons to know what was what. For GW2, ANet didn’t want the player to keep looking at the UI, so they made our hex spells into physical manifestations.
We players need to stop thinking that illusions are pets/minions. Like a hex, Mesmer’s require line of sight/target to land a illusion cast.
When the target dies, so does the hex/illusion. If we are blinded at cast, we miss. If the target dodges, blocks, etc., then our hex/illusion casts fail. Nothing more.
I don’t mean to rant, but these forums are constantly comparing the Mesmer’s Illusions to minions and ranger pets. “Why do ranger pets do this, when illusions do that? Why do illusions do this when minions do that?” They are not the same. Illusions = Hex spell.
What are you talking about? Target dodges, blocks, etc then our hex/illusion casts fail? When was the last time you played?
Wait; so you guys don’t want to fight 5v5 sPvP and consider WvW builds to be ‘real’ builds? Interesting… dire, perplextity, inflated stats, roaming buffs, food/oil; etc – All are counter to what many in any competitive scene would consider ‘real’ builds. In fact most consider WvW a cheese fest. Either way I personally don’t care where we 5v5, but I’m just a bit confused why you are interested in taking the path with the most resistance, especially one that lends itself to interruption from outside forces (i.e. zergs/roamers/etc); just sounds like a lot of excuses.
“Most” is subjective since you are probably talking about Spvp player which doesn’t even account for 1% of the total WvW player base.
Cheese is everywhere and that includes Spvp – condi/ai spam anyone?
@ Jon, thank you very much : )
@Vanarle, this skin looks amazing on sylvari race. Your toon is a nice example of that : )
kitten . I love it on my sylvari( I have cultural t3 on my human ele and mesmer, but this one, on sylvari, I will miss it a lot ;_;
I got 3 full tickets (not scraps) on one day. Considering I never had any luck with drop since the very beginning I was really happy, but since then I get no nice things from chests :pp Prolly used all my luck for next year
Chill, they will be back.
kitten , I really love your ideas. I’m hoping Anet would add sth like that sooner or later, for now I am enjoying the event. Halloween is my favourite one, I remember when last year I’ve spent tons of time hearing my 10 years old sister screaming and laughing when playing lunatic inquisition. Best minigame :’3

Same problem. I changed stats on my alt’s gear in order to move it to my main. I was shocked when I saw it is still SOULBOUND! Please Anet fix it
Open on Seafarer’s Rest
Any EU temple open?
is switching to town cloth and then armor again fix it ? or just re-equip armor ?
Yes, switching to town clothes does fix it ! Nice idea!
But it still needs a fix. I don’t really feel like switching clothes every single time i get downed.

I’m having the very same problem I submitted on reddit today. Our MF gear after getting to downed state bugs and our magic find percentage gets decreased. The only way to fix it is to unequip and equip our armor.
It has nothing to do with the boons, food buffs and boosts.
It is either a display bug or MF is really bugged.
My screens : one before getting downed (62% of MF) and one after getting downed (44%MF). Doesn’t matter if being under effect of the boon, boost or food buff.
