There is indeed some statement about those optimization, but there is no statement on what’s going on mainly since the reset on friday. The other post about optimization is more than a week old, but I can’t find it now. I begin to think someone screwed up something so big, they don’t even know how to tell us.
Your night crew is decent as i play during nights and mornings.
What you and us seem to lack is morning crew while Kodash have a strong one. Not as devastating as Millers but quite strong
My guild transferred to Kodash last week, first thing I saw being advertised on EBG was a 8am “breakfast zerg event” ;-).
Anyway, good matchup.
We from [XI] enjoyed this matchup very much. Late for a thread indeed ;-).
Two of our fights from yesterday, enjoy!

Are you serious? Low quality models look incredibly…. like barbie plastic world, wtf.
I don’t get Why AM guilds wont run alone.
Can’t be that hard to figure out.
We do, alomost every evening. But we can hardly “fuel 20-40”, as we are only 30 in guild. So having 20 in the evening is like the most we can field. Anyway, looking forward to the next GvGs! Three more to go this week :-)
I don’t think it’s a bug. The quaggan is a gambit, so I’d say you only had to kill the ooze. You challenged Subject 7, so the quaggan isn’t counted as a boss… at least this makes sense to me.
I already posted my build for Liadri into the warrior forum section, but it might be more appropriate in here. It’s greatsword/rifle, so if you like direct dmg, here you go ;-)
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fIAQJAURjkOFvBPuQMRCE0DNMLEQ7Bj4UY80HsDA-jEQMAMB-w
You should finish phase 1 as fast as possible, so you don’t run out of time later. Kill every sphere, so your auto-stability isn’t on cooldown for phase 2. Use your gs to move fast, and #3 can save you from the black shadow things. When you enter phase 2, charge to safe spot and switch to rifle.
Phase 2, you can move from one safe spot to another by just circling clockwise. You’re even able to run backwards (normally very noobish when kiting an enemy ;-) better use your strafe key, and run sideways. This way you can constantly attack and kite her). Cripple her as often as possible! If she hits you, you might gain VERY long cripple uptime on yourself, as well as weakness. Activate healing signet to remove it instantly, since you can’t win when slowed down, low endurance and lowered dmg output. Use killshot only when: a) she is far away so you don’t get hit, b) the AoE circles just showed up, c) you’re in the safe spot, and not far away from where the next safe spot will appear.
Tip: use rifle #5 on the spheres, as OP already mentioned only melee/aoe skills work.
I might throw in my build as well: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fIAQJAURjkOFvBPuQMRCE0DNMLEQ7Bj4UY80HsDA-jEQMAMB-w
GS/rifle. I bought a rifle only for this ;-).
Basically, use GS within first phase. Same stuff as already mentioned here. The moment you get to phase 2, use your GS charge to get to the safe spot, circle clockwise from now on. Use volley shot on colldown, as well as the crippling one and the one for vulnerability. Kill shot only when she is far away, and you have enough time elft until next AoE. If you come close to any of those black spheres, use rifle #5 to destroy them. For whatever reason I wasn’t able to kill them with autoattack on rifle.
Use healing signet to get rid of cripple and weakness; combined with Liadri being crippled, you will get like zero dmg. The -40% condi duration food might be a bit too much, but well. I’d suggest mango pie for the regen if it’s too expensive for you.
Edit: Defense VIII will save you from one pull (try not to waste it for phase 1), and dolyak signet from another one. If you don’t need it, the dmg reduce combined with healing signet + adrenal healing will keep you close to 100% health.
Oh, and endurance reg is capped at 100%, as far as I know.

This matchup is so boring… blobs everywhere. Even in JP, you fight 2v2 and 5 secs later they already called their friends to port back to spawn, because… well. Maybe you’re not used to fight without skill lags?
Dead match up thread? That’s because we’re busy building golems!
This is the best match up we’ve had in weeks.
I agree. [Hot] is having a lot of fun so far, thanks to everyone, friend & foe ;-). And since i was leading [Hot] yesterday, special thanks to everyone whom i met on the borderlands, it was really great.
Regarding Dz weekend score, i have no idea what went wrong, but something for sure did. Anyway, see you on the field, and don’t build too many golems :P
We have some numbers during the weekend, but less during working days. Anyway, stop complaining about blobs. You guys now how to do it too, so w/ever.
Happy looting, at least we had fun doing so tonight.
Well, it’s quite obvious that the matchmaking is horrible. Maybe it’s intended, who knows?
But my team just played against some top 20 EU guys, and no one of us is even listed on the leaderbords. I got some 80%ish. This is very far from fun and it’s not fair at all. Add in some second/twink account on top of that; i guess this was the reason they got matched against us. Looks like the weakest player determines the team rating…?
Seriously – what’s the point? I don’t mind playing against better teams, but this is just ridiculous. I know there are quite a few topics out there on similar issues (sole/premade etc.), but i haven’t seen any dev answering. I’d like to know why these things happen, and when we will see a fix.
As far as i know you cancelled the last one, just to siege our BL hill with 20+ ;-). I won’t be ingame today, so in case the other officers/Shortex isn’t reading here, you’ll hear from me tomorrow or on monday.
Most of us only represent [Hot] on our raid events. So if you’re not around at those times, you won’t see many of us.
not new in this matchup, but i’m pretty sure they’re new to Dzag.
Nope, neither new to Dzag nor new to this matchup. [Hot] was a small-scale guild a few weeks ago, now me and a lot of others joined to do some really organized fighting. Almost everyone of us is playing on Dzag for some month now ;-).
As was already said, Shortex (one of our more well-known commanders) set up this project to deal with guilds like [RiOT], [VcY] etc. I’d say we’ve done quite good this reset night. Our numbers are growing slowly, so you’ll see us more often from now on.
Edit: @flameinabox – not sure if anyone else from [Hot] read your post, but I’ll try and settle some GvG. Might be tomorrow or even monday, but I’ll contact you for sure.

Would like to thank HOT for a great evening of GvG!
Sadly I wasn’t able to join the GvG, but the guys from my guild I’ve talked to were all very pleased. See you on the battlefield then ;-)
So, just a few minutes ago I had this guy in my team. The game before he was with us also, and tbh he was quite a terrible player.
Last game, he stated he would be afk so we would loose. He was writing stuff in mapchat, dancing at spawnpoint and not taking action until the game was already lost for us. Anything I can do about it? Report maybe?
As many rangers, I played neraly full gc lb/sb before the quickness nerf. After that, I tried sb/gs, it’s fun, but more in small groups than in zerg fights. Recently I started to roam in an organized group of 20+, busting other zergs. To me, sb or lb is not viable when changing positions frequently, flanking the enemy, portalbombing etc. Having a few thousand WvW badges in my bank, I decided to buy some condi gear and build around traps.
I came up with a build using three traps, axe/torch as primary and another axe on weaponswap, both axes using superior sigil of geomancy. Build + gear setup can be found here: http://gw2buildcraft.com/calculator/ranger/?6.3|7.1b.h1k.f.1b.h5|7.1b.h1k.0.0.0|1b.719.1b.719.1h.719.1b.719.1h.719.1b.719|41m.0.21m.0.31m.0.1h.62.1h.62.2w.0|a3.u28b.u67c.0.0|15.d|4j.50.53.52.54|e
Essentially, you have to run with the pack, diving into the enemy zerg. Throw your traps everywhere where you see some guys standing, and keep weaponswitch on cooldown for aoe bleed + fury + swiftness. Traps also work fine on defending choke points. Torch #5 also adds some burn, and fire field on demand. Since you are moving all the time during zergfights, it will hit someone everytime you use it.
I tried it for some hours this week, and it works quite well, even in pugs. Me and my friends kept track on our kills/badges during one of our organized raids, and my ranger ended up with slightly more kills than a condition-glamour mesmer and slightly less kills/badges than a condi necro.
I’d like to hear your opinion on my build. I tend to remove all healing power from my build, although Troll Unguent scales very well with it. Healing Spring is not viable, since I can’t stay inside the field for the full duration (only useful when defending some choke point in a tower/keep).
Ive often though this, testing conditions over time is hard because the dummies die fast…whereas a player would heal, have protection, etc etc. I dont know what the lions arch dummies are like but that sounds like a good idea if its simply infinite life dummies.
Yup, they never die.
They die. It’s not possible killing it solo, but if you go there with like ~15 ppl, it looses health faster than it can regenerate. We tried it some friday night during WvW reset.
Anyway. Good idea, adding sth with more hp there would be nice.
Oh, yeah I missed that point where signet’s effect counts for the player as well. Thanks, guys.
Anyway, quite surprising I haven’t seen any other ranger using that… lol
Hey guys,
today I lost a 1v1 against a lvl 80 ranger, two times in a row. I met him at Eternal Battleground JP this morning. I played on my thief, and I rarely met a ranger that could beat me in 1v1 on any of my chars (2 or 3 times to be exact). Okay, fair enough. Better players than me are out there, for sure. But this guy was completely invulnerable to my attacks, like a warrior using Endure Pain or one of those Lords with invincible buff. I’ve never seen that before on this class. No block, no dodge, but 0 dmg for some seconds.
I looked up ranger traits and utilities at gw2skills.net, but I couldn’t find anything that would cause me do 0 dmg. So, what was it?
Thanks for your help
The matchup next week is still based on the ratings, right? So I guess Whiteside Ridge will be Tier 1 the week after. Quite funny, but looking at the rankings I’d say there is no other server that will have more points than Whiteside Ridge by the end of next week.
No, you need the 15%. For example, if you buy sth for 1s, you need to sell it for an amount X silver, where X is (in this example): 1s(the money you spent on the item) divided by 85, and then multiplied by 100: (1s/85)*100 = X. If you list the item for X on the TP, you break even. Keep in mind, TP fees are mathematically rounded (1.004 rounded down to 1.0, 1.005 rounded up to 1.001).
edit: you need to divide by 85, because if you list an item for X silver, you will recieve 85% of X as profit from the TP. Following the formula, you take the 1s as those 85% you want to recieve at least; dividing by 85 gives you 1% of the listing price neccesary to break even. *100 = X, break even.
I hope this explanation was good enough ;-).

When combining gear, you need to check the minor stats/% crit dmg ratio. It’s quite easy:
Let’s say P/V/T is like 100P/80V/20T, and the Berserker part would be 100P/80Prec/2% crit dmg. In this case, you would trade 1% crit dmg for 10 minor stats.
This guy here did the whole math: http://www.guildwars2guru.com/topic/71739-wvw-solo-roamer-scouting-build-discussion/
Helm: 45 32 32 2% (16 minor vs 1% crit)
Shoulders: 34 24 24 2% (12 minor vs 1% crit)
Chest: 101 72 72 5% (14.4 minor vs 1% crit)
Gloves: 34 24 24 2% (12 minor vs 1% crit)
Legs: 67 48 48 3% (16 minor vs 1% crit)
Boots: 34 24 24 2% (12 minor vs 1% crit)
Weapons: 180 128 128 10% (12.8 minor vs 1% crit)Earrings: 112 80 80 6% (13.33 minor vs 1% crit)
Rings: 134 96 96 6% (16 minor vs 1% crit)
Amulet: 90 64 64 5% (12.8 minor vs 1% crit)Jewels: 25 15 15 3% (5 minor vs 1% crit)
Crit vs Minor efficiency: (Closer to this side should be Berserker) Jewels >>>>> Shoulders, Gloves, Boots > Amulet, Weapons > Earrings > Chest > Helm, Legs, Rings (Closer to this side should be Soldier)
edit: Don’t foget about buff food, it greatly boosts your stats.

Please free me and my team (+ opponents) from our tPvP game. It ended a few seconds before the crash, and no we’re stuck. No one can leave.
Hey guys,
so I’m having a question about tPvP as a premade team. I’m playing with some guildmates, and we started playing free tournaments lately. Our problem is, we either get very easy wins or perform very bad and loose. Because of this it’s kinda hard to tell if we do something very wrong, or just have bad luck.
Our team is build up from three very experienced WvW players, and two others who are kinda new to GW2 or to PvP. We are currently experimenting with builds and classes, but it doesn’t seem to have a big impact on our performance. Like I said, easy wins or we get eaten alive by groups full of highranked guys. We even tried paid once, but… well.
Classes are the following:
WvW group: 1. warrior/necro, 2. thief/warrior, 3. necro/engineer
Guildies: 4. ele/guardian, 5. warrior/necro
So, my question is: what kind of setup would you suggest? I’m not asking for specific builds, but what classes we should bring to the field and for what kind of roles. If you think we lack mesmer or whatever, I guess we could adapt. Oh, and we always use Teamspeak, and the WvW “core” has some long-time experience in PvP teamplay.
I’m not interested in full gc setups, but sth like a viable basis so we can improve our teamplay without being out of chance from the beginning.
Thanks
I found this bug last week. I could use heartseeker and infiltrators arrow to get through the gate, but instaid of exploiting it like “some” I reported it with a screenshot and jumped off the wall.
Guess it shows whether you have character or not in those situations.
According to the thread dealing with this matchup in the german forums, some guys from my server (Kodash) already try to find out what happened there. Generally, this guild isn’t known for this kind of stuff.
BTT: We had some great fight against Deso, but MUCH to learn… just got tricked from one of your raids. My group was following you on Kodash BL north of the norh-eastern tower… you guys running down to that supply camp. “Hey, looks like they’re planning something…” – “Nah don’t think so, just kill those guys standing here” … portal bomb, confusion, 80% dead. Well, won’t happend any time soon to us again, i hope ;-)
I have to say that it looks like RoF and Dzagonur gave up Sunday night.
No one on Dzagonur quits fighting after Sunday, but we simply have a quite low WvW population, and we still lack ad-hoc organization. Most people wait for the blue symbol on the map to show up. Plus, another guild left the server in the last days. So yeah… our prime time is during weekends, and on weekdays from 6-10 p.m., roughly.
Anyway, I had some nice fights these week. RoS, no one is about to drop this week… someone will the week after, but I just hope it’s not mine
