Guild Wars 2

Hello everyone,

I am considering leveling some crafting skill but I am wondering how useful it will be… I am not that interested in the money-making aspect of crafting, nor the XP gains. Are there mandatory items that require you to have a specific craft? Also, I remember some items were actually cheaper to buy straight from the TP, is it still generally the case?

Suggestion 1 :
Being able to whisper fallen allies you see on the mini-map: you know, when you run around and see a fallen player on the mini-map, and you just wish you can run fast enough to rescue him/her before he/she rez at the wp. Well I’d love to have a way to send that player a whisper or at least see the name on the mini-map.
Suggestion 2:
I don’t know if it has been said before, most likely it has been, but I’ll explain anyway. I did my first dungeon yesterday and I had great fun. The think is that I kept watching the cut-scenes until I realized that combat went on while I watched, so I stopped watching them because my teammates skipped them. My suggestion would be to prevent an event to start before everyone is out of the cut-scene or to skip the cut-scene if somebody else skip it.

My name is Molkien and this thread is amazing!! I only looked at a few pages in it but it’s amazing how people are helpful here, so I’d like to add my contribution to this “operation”. I just started a new Warrior (Sword and Board style) so I’m not very high level at the moment, but I’ll do what I can to help as I play.

Current Server: Eradon Terrace
Interested Activities: General PvE (exploring, main quest, etc), Dungeons, PvP (never tried those)
Active: Mostly evenings when I’m not working and weekends if I don’t have anything else to do.
Additional Comments: I’m not an English native, in fact I’m from Quebec so I speak French, so sometimes what I say (write) may look weird. Also, I played a thief and a necromancer before Halloween but I have not played since then. I am now starting a warrior.

Wait a minute, have I missed something? Your character can actually start auto-attacking a mob which was not targeted by you nor targeting/attacking you? Are you sure the mob had not attacked you and then another player came to save you? I have not experienced something like this even if I am using auto-attack.

Search for “Berserker” on guildhead or on the TP and you’ll find the items he’s refering to. Berserker items have precision/power/crit damage.

I believe 20g is for the t2 cultural set (more or less).
With the going price of exotics, I think it would be more economical to simply buy them of the TP instead of leveling the crafting skills given the cost of leveling to 400 IF your only purpose for leveling a crafting skill is to make your own exotics. Of course, you may not have a choice for legendary, but that is another story .
But then, I have not tested this for every exotics in the game.

There is no good/bad time to move zone in GW2. If you feel you are getting behind, move to another zone. For a level 17 human, I suppose you are in Kessex Hills? You can try another 15-25 zone such as Brisban Wildlands which is beside Kessex Hills.

Well, I wouldn’t salvage all the gear on your Guardian, just in case you want to come back to him. As for rerolling, if you want to level your warrior ASAP (and have a few golds), I suggest you take a look here :

I don’t get the correct amount of money from selling stuff on the trading post. I always get 10% less than i should on top of the listing fee. For example, i’ll sell something for 20s costing 1s listing fee and i’ll receive 18s. So, somehow it effectively cost 3s to sell it!

These are 10% sell fees plus the initial 5% posting fees.

I’m getting the error “Error attempting to sell” when I’m trying to sell multiple items in a row: after about 10 auctions posted, the error will appear and then I have to wait a bit before I can post again. It seems like an anti-botting or I don’t know what. Maybe there is a limit on how much auctions we can post in a certain amount of time. I’ve searched this post for similar errors, but from what I’ve seen, most people can’t post auctions at all, which is not my case.
I’m not getting errors from mail nor for placing orders. But then, I have not used these features as much as selling items.

Make sure you do the skills challenges in every maps you go, these give some nice XP. Also complete daily achievements. I’m currently lvl 41 and my leveling rate is good. But then, I have cooking/weaponsmith at lvl +/- 100, which helped.
P.S. I’m curious, what is T1? Is it a set of pvp or dungeon gear?
