Very helpful tips provided. And watch the video as many times as you need to. Get a clear jist of the key tricky areas and the path you need to follow. It’s actually quite straightforward once you get past the halfway mark. Most of the tricky areas would have passed by then and so would have most other players (No more clutter!).

Completed it in under half an hour thanks to the guide and video.

You can use these Gems to purchase items in the Gem store, or within the Currency Exchange. At the time of this reply, this would be slightly more than 7.5 gold when exchanged for coin. These can be applied in game using the “Redeem Code” option in the Gem Store.*

I Just feel that this issue REALLY needs to be escalated considering the ridiculous replies of some ANet support staff.

TL;DR version: The Box of Berserker’s Draconic Armor incorrectly gave a full set of GLADIATOR armor when opened. Many, many players lost a good amount of gold (anywhere from 7g – 17g reported) from buying these boxes on the trading post, from people who KNEW VERY WELL they were scamming buyers.

Now, the bug has since been fixed, and apparently they DO award the correct armor at present.

However, not only has ANet NOT done anything to penalize the people who SOLD these on the trading post (it’s about as blatantly exploiting the karma thing if you ask me), they seem to be too lazy to even try to figure out a workaround solution to compensate players affected by this horrendous bug.

I think all affected players understand that ANet “Does not currently have the tools” and “have no estimate of if or when such tools become available”, but these replies are extremely vague at best and also beg the question of why in the blue heck they DIDN’T anticipate such problems in the first place (and hence develop such a “tool”)

Now, I direct you to the most infuriating reply yet:

We would like to be able to offer refunds or exchanges for things such as this or even items purchased accidentally, but at this time we’re unable to make these kinds of adjustments to characters. Emphasis on the sentence in bold.

So, they mean to tell us that EVERYTHING we buy in the game has the potential to be bugged, and so it is the user’s responsibility to look out for bugs like that and take FULL responsibility for ANet’s own bugs THAT END UP CHEATING YOU OF YOUR PURCHASES. (Even if you DID use caution; sorry if its bugged. Too bad. We would love to compensate you but we simply can’t.)

Any idea how ridiculous that sounds? The ONLY WAY for players to KNOW if the item was bugged is either 1): If players actually bought and then ‘opened’ the box of _ armor; or 2) The bug was even reported and searchable on the internet in the first place and it just so happened that a user “felt” the box was bugged and hence did such a specific search; or perhaps the user chanced upon such a post before making a purchase.

The problem with (2) is that players simply WILL NOT purposely search for “So-and-so item bug” because players are EXPECTING to get SAID ITEM from their purchases; especially when it’s clear as day that it is a “Box of DRACONIC armor” and not “Box of GLADIATOR armor”. There is no good reason to do so UNTIL players find out they did not get what they purchased in the first place! Sure; suspiciously low prices are one indicator, yet my previous statement still holds: It is clear as day that players should be getting a box of DRACONIC armor; NOT gladiator.

I implore any high-up ANet staff or dev… PLEASE do something about this to help players who have been affected. No tools? A workaround solution then. Such as draconic armors up on the gem store for purchase; and then credit gems to affected players so we can buy them for free. (And then of course we will destroy those Gladiator armors we got from the bugged boxes)

And for all you ignorant teenagers or stay at home adults asking us to just ‘farm’ back the gold, not everyone has the time like you to do that in a short amount of time. The 10 gold I spent on that took me 3 weeks + to get. Some of us can’t even play for more than 2 hours a day. I just want to log in with some nice end game gear and play the endgame; NOT FARM BACK GOLD. I don’t like being plagued constantly by the fact that I do NOT have end game gear and that I am effectively 10 gold behind in purchasing anything else end-game ish.

Now, let me get things straight. I understand that ANet apparently “does not have to tools” to return us our purchases, but aNyone else other than me feel that the bolded statement is COMPLETE, UTTER, INFURIATING bullkitten? I mean; can you even BELIEVE they are saying something SO RIDICULOUS?

An item was labelled INCORRECTLY by YOU. there was ABSOLUTELY NO reason to believe it would have given a completely DIFFERENT set of armor UNTIL you actually “OPENED” the box; ‘cheap’ prices aside. We have effectively been CONNED by this bug. To draw a parallel, it’s like buying a box labelled “Ipad” and getting a Toshiba Handibook instead.

The onus, in this case then, is NOT on us. IT IS ON YOU.

Infuriating, man. Absolutely infuriating.

All I can say is extremely, extremely POOR communication from devs about the “new” dungeon reward system.

According to Robert’s post, assuming a dungeon has 3 explorable paths and a player has NOT run any of those for a particular day, that player SHOULD earn a total of 180 tokens by completing all 3 of those paths for the first time; irregardless of how fast that player cleared those paths.

Yet, this is clearly not happening for many players, and party members who stuck with each other clearing the different explorable paths TOGETHER end up getting different rewards.

Next, did TWILIGHT ARBOR Up-Up, 45 tokens

Next, did TWILIGHT ARBOR Forward-Up, 10 tokens.

unfortunately, I forgot to screenshot.

Haven’t done any dungeon runs prior to the patch.

But the kinds of rewards im getting just isn’t ‘scaling’ correctly right? I’m clearly not going to get 180 tokens by clearing the dungeons ‘one time’, the first time each day.

I simply don’t believe they can’t have a workaround fix for this; even if they do not currently have tools to issue refunds. I made a suggestion on a possible workaround; yet I don’t think any tech support personnel or devs are even willing to take a look at it.

As with regards to giving us a full set of Draconic armor vs Refunds, I am perfectly fine with both. Or if they have another idea I’m all for it. But at the end of the day I do expect ANet to compensate players in some way. This is after all their own gold-stealing bug being exploited by some unscrupulous kittens.

I think it is quite evident that the entire (or most) of the ANet team have taken a long holiday after their launch of the game.

More than 1 week since the last game update; leaving many, many bugs and exploits still going unfixed (including this).

Pardon if this has been asked before but is there any difference other than aesthetics of the “Destroyer” and “Pearl” variants of craftable level 80 exotic weapons?

I really don’t get it. Why are we being left hanging without ANY devs coming in to give an official report after 1 week since this issue got escalted? This is by no means a ‘small’ issue to us.

+1. Kind of got misled about character heights and would like to make mine the tallest; possibly change some skin patterns too.

I’m sure ANet would love to make more money from gem purchases from such a service anyhow.

I’m seeing from some posters that the ANet team can actually Mail items to players.. Is this true? Or is this possible only from the gem store?

Has anyone affected received any kind of update from devs / support other than the “we can’t do anything right now” reply? It’s been 4 days already and it feels like the entire team has taken a long holiday or something.

Bad timing I guess? It’s the weekend so most of the staff are probably off duty.. And any definite decision will have to be discussed and made only next week.

For now, their official reply (as per tech support personnel) is ambiguous at best.

“This issue is being investigated and we hope to have a fix for this as soon as possible, however, we do not have an estimated time for when it will be implemented.

So it definitely WILL be fixed; but they do not say exactly HOW. For one thing, I’m sure they will be ‘updating’ the in-game box to correctly reflect ‘Box of Berserker’s GLADIATOR armor’ with a yellow aura instead of orange, but as to all the players who got scammed into purchasing them from the Trading Post, we are going to be left hanging because “At this time,” there is nothing they can do for us to restore our items / gold.

I believe what I have suggested is well within their power to implement seeing as to how they so quickly and (accurately?) locked down on players who did the karma exploit and even got perps to “restore” their accounts by deleting their “ill gotten gains”.

Same thing happened to me. Finally reached level 80; Guild mates also told me it’s a good buy; a bit skeptical at first because individual Draconic armors cost ~ 3 gold +; but I thought there was some savings involved with getting a whole box of ‘em. I’m not really into Crafting; and so would have avoided this if I had actually done more “research”; but can you really blame me for such a complete and blatantly misleading item?

Well, I am almost completely broke after this, and I got a similar reply from ANet that they are not yet able to restore items and it almost makes me want to lodge some kind of report… this is after all THEIR BUG which has effectively EXPLOITED PLAYERS (and also has other players obviously exploiting the bug by scamming buyers on the trading post into buying them). However, seeing as to how it’s understandable that they do not yet have an official fix on this, I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt that they will compensate us once a fix is finalized for that.

But seriously; if ANet support currently cannot issue refunds / restorations to players individually, have some sort of workaround. Like put up a full set of ACTUAL Draconic Armors on the Gem Store, and let ONLY AFFECTED PLAYERS purchase them, once, for free. Or heck, instead of free, they could even require us to purchase those by “exchanging” the Gladiator armor equivalent that we got from the “Berserker’s Draconic armor box of scamming”; they kill 2 birds with 1 stone that way. We get the correct armor and we ‘destroy’ the other wrong set of armor we got. (If they could track down exploiters of the karma cultural armor thing, they can very well track down and verify players who got tricked into buying the “draconic” armor box as well). Not a ridiculously unreasonable / impossible workaround solution, yes?

I really hate the idea of running around completely broke with a set of “inferior” level 80 armor I paid lots for that I cannot use for pouring through the high level areas.
