Has it ever been considered to add a team support trait line to Dragonhunter that focuses on the Guardians team role instead of longbow? Sort of how the Warrior specialization has both condi and physical dps lines allowing for different styles of play.
Awful Lackluster Ridiculous
All other classes got specializations that enhanced their play style. The Dragon Hunter is nothing but a poor version of the Ranger which is already considered non viable in a group PvP setting.
This Longbow spec is a step backwards away from the original intent of the class.
Here are some direct quotes from Anet on the Guardian from the wiki page:
“Guardians are devoted fighters who protect their allies and smite their enemies by drawing from the power of their virtues. True guardians are brilliant tacticians and selfless defenders who know when to sacrifice their own defenses to empower their allies to achieve victory.
— GuildWars2.com Guardian
Guardians specialize in protective and defensive magic. A deep sense of loyalty to their allies fuels their passion and power."
Looking at that the Dragonhunter doesn’t fit at all.

It’s just another sPvP map:
1 part Khylo
1 part Foe Fire
all fail
It’s just another sPvP map
Epic fail of resources
I think with a comp of larger than 5 we will see more diverse builds too
Before GW2 it was absurd to gvg with more than a single group.
In each game the best “A Team” would fight the others guilds.
In DAoC this was 8v8
In War it was 5v5 but sometimes 10v10 because of scenario teams
In GW1 it was 8v8
I always wondered if i was the only person surprised by the 20v20 gvgs when they started in gw2.
I am interested to know why they picked 5v5 too though. I assumed it would be 8v8 like the original GW1. I wonder if peoples concerns of this just being another sPvP map are valid. Don’t get me wrong I do love sPvP but i would like this game mode to be able to stand alone.
Edit: I do totally agree with using the sPvP stat system though for balance.
After researching more i found out that they are experimenting with numbers between 5-10 this is great for me. I dk why the original poster though it was already decided.

I have always had fun fighting SBI even way back when i was on SoS and SBI was with us in T1. SBI as a whole has a very nice and respectable community and that is something to be proud of.

I am sure i could get some guys from DR to do these skirmishes too.
In all fairness it was more of just a skirmish instead of a GvG. I appreciate that it is so easy to make friends with other servers to set up these lil matches. I tried to talk to DDlg(sp?) but none of them would let me join their parties heh. Great fights all around from all the servers and I notice a good amount of sportmanship compared to last week.

I always said that the AoE cap in this game is extremely low in this game. In other games an average AoE cap was around 20 and i find that extremely reasonable. I don’t see why the AoE cakitten ?! So, extremely low… I get it though, I know NCsoft doesn’t seem to invest any money in their servers. Silas put it exactly how i see it as a massive crippler to smaller forces. And to you guys saying the bigger forces would do better? There are such things as radius caps to the AoEs and cool downs. I would like to see a mindless zerg that coordinates their cool downs and placements. I hate to say it but look at when RG came to T1 NA and fought the massive zergs. They are literally the number 1 PvP guild in the game rite now but were completely owned by mindless damage because of the AoE cap.

Like i say after every bug and the complete instability of WvW and the poorly done WvW update that took forever. Good Game Anet!
All the AoE limit does it make small groups useless because the larger group can hit more targets.
Anet is looking for ways to discourage zergs? But if i take 5 guys into 50 in the best scenario i can only hit 25 while the other 25 own us. Why does this AoE cap exist? It obviously is beneficial to larger groups much like culling. So, does it exist only for Anets benefit for less server stress?
To me this AoE cap is the most detrimental thing to skilled small teams which in other games could roll larger numbers. I would like to see it increased at least in WvW.
Please comment and discuss
Added armor and weapon sets, titles, and no culling. What about fixing the orbs? Many players and I also discussed how back when it was the “Feb” patch there was suppose to be a new map? Also i feel the “weapon and armor skins” on the WvW sets are completely boring. I cant believe it took a year since launch to throw this together. I cant help but feel a little shafted.
RG you guys are such an amazing guild and with you being so hardcore on our worst time slot you have many of us in SoS scratching our heads with what to do with you. I am very glad that your stay isnt permanent!
