It’s not a matter of needing more people. We have enough to push into overflow. I haven’t gotten in on the main map yet, so I don’t know how things are looking in there, but overflow was only getting it down about 10% last night.

I wish I could pass on the gloves and helm and just get both shoulders. I have to choose between having complete matching sets for several of my alts, or just getting the shoulders to complete the look of my main (he’s got the lava gloves from the dredge event and he wouldn’t wear the helm anyway). The majority of my alts would look great in a full set of radiant armor, but I’d pass on all of that just to unlock both shoulders.

There are plenty of animated plant creatures in Tyria, sylvari just seem to be one of the humanoid variants. It makes me curious, however, had any of the other seeds Ronan found in the cave been plants on graves of charr, would be be seeing charr-like plant people?

Seriously. If Trahearne wants it so bad, he can kill Mazdak.

A little sylvari humor today:

So you pick the backstory for your sylvari, and suppose you chose the Ventari teaching “All things have a right to grow.” Actually, doesn’t matter, you noticed that that was one of the three major teachings. Go through your tutorial instance and you are spit out in Caledon Forest and told to help out the locals.
So you run along until you see Warden Annwyn, and she’s got a job for you. Kill fireflies for luminescence to light the town lamps.
“But the fireflies are doing a fine job. It’s night time and aside from my own sylvari glow, I can see just fine. Besides, they aren’t hurting anybody.”

But you go along with it. She’s got plenty for the lamps, but she’ll take whatever you’ve got.

Wait, now there are mosquitoes! Kill them too! They’re only here because of the lamps we lit, but kill them!

Oh, I see, it was a lure. Annwyn just really hates bugs. If she’d have hated drakes, we’d be catching those in cages and poking them with sticks to simulate braziers. Don’t fall for it! She’s testing you to see if you’ll turn Nightmare.

I was having this problem. The last time I tried right-click>Run as Administrator and it loaded right up.

In addition to someone’s answer on another thread about being able to put the dragon bash exotic into the forge to get one of the previous exotics, it could also be that this event seems geared towards purchasing rewards. Unless you have a crazy amount of time, there’s no way to get 100 Jorbreakers, but you can totally buy zhaitaffy at the TP. And of course there’s the moa racing. Maybe people have settled for a lower price to get their money before this short event is over.

What a rollercoaster! My inbox was full, so I thought there was a problem with my purchase. I decided to clean it out to make room and suddenly I had two sets of minis. I thought “I won some glitch lottery!” Then I read the email and realized I’d just spent gems on something I was getting for free. So I bought the risen knight and forged a colossus. That’ll cheer ya up

The colossus was like the easiest exotic to get. I accidentally purchased the mini set because I didn’t know I was getting one free for my earlier gem purchase, so I decided to price the fourth mini at the auction to see if I could use the forge. Turns out the risen knight was just under 2 gold so I bought 2 of them, one to forge for the colossus and one to keep. Made me feel less crappy for buying something I was already getting for free. Don’t forget to keep those inboxes clean!

Sorry for thread necromancy, but I’d really like to get to know my server better. I tried to register for the shiverpeaks.com forums, but after waiting a few days for my first post to clear moderation so I could become a full member, I got an email saying I didn’t meet the requirements. Then when I went to the site to see if I’d missed something in registration, I found my IP had been banned. There were knockoff purse spammers that had posted there more recently than my registration, I don’t know how they made it through. Did the forum die? Is NSP meeting somewhere else these days?

Yeah, that was pretty intense. Having the little ventari patrols AND the toy solder waves…at least Toxx stayed away until the end.

Doc Howler’s still awful. Fighting inside the tavern is awful but I can’t keep the bandits and Quinn outside. If I could, I could rez him, but he’s pretty useless. The bandits are cake, but Doc is just nasty. I’m on my mesmer, lvl 10, and bringing skills that transfer conditions. Lots of damage but she’s blasting me, and if I get too far away, she regens all her health super fast. I’d take MKT over Doc Howler any day (of course he doesn’t regen at all). Suppose I’ll wait and get a friend to help. Maybe someone to keep her entertained while I heal. Just being able to use the area outside the tavern more would be great, but everyone runs inside like it’s 25cent wings in there.

Any lvl 80s who will not take you are some poor lvl 80s. I can understand if they wanted you to be at least 30 so you could have a full skill bar…but ….no I can’t even understand that. My boyfriend and I completed this one just the two of us, and ANYONE else who came with us would have just been more help. The first time through we only had 4 people and one of them started this as lvl 3 and had only been playing GW2 for a few hours (what a first impression!). It took a little bit to understand when we’d be overwhelmed by spiders, and the places to recover. The fact that MKT doesn’t regen and your teammates are free to take the door out to LA in the middle of the fight to repair armor and then rejoin you makes it easier. We took a thief and an engineer, and while we did die once each when MKT moved to the lowest platform (if you mess up getting there, the spiders respawn) that was about the extent of the problems. You can be feared off the platforms, so plan your positions with something behind you to run into. That isn’t an effect of MKT, but the scarecrows. In the large red rings, you’re vulnerable to crow swarms but should have time to run through those without being damaged too badly. If you take out the scarecrows (which go away on their own after about 3 swarms) you get feared, so you can actually anticipate that happening. The most damage you will take is standing too near an ally when MKT throws his shield. If there’s just two of you, it can bounce back enough times to take most of your health. The solution I found was just taking a turret skill or any skill really that summons something else to fight with you. The more expendable things, the mokittengets for the shield. Don’t be afraid to duck and cover. Watch out for exploding pumpkins (dodge and reposition, you have time). The stone temples are great places to recover, so if you feel you might drop, stick close to them and hide while you heal up. The stone pillar in the middle platform is also a great place to get 3/4 cover with a ranged weapon. Just peek out and shoot. It’s not 100% safe, but it’s pretty good. And shame on those lvl 80s for being snobs. If there’s more than one lvl 80 in the group, they’ve got it, easy.

With the error in the middle of it, I expected there would be a lot of people posting RAWRRAWRRAWR, and I would have probably been upset if I was in the middle of the Mad King thing. I feel bad for those people, but I have loved the whole event so far. I haven’t finished the clock tower yet, but I’ve done everything else and have had so much fun! My favorite thing? The 10 slot ToT bag, no kidding! I tried to open it at first not realizing what it was, but then I had a giddy moment. Even if I’d had bags that were more than 10 slot, I’d have tossed one to use this. I’ve also been loving the family-size candy corns in the labyrinth. Not so fond of the lunatic inquest thing. I’m pretty awful at it and end up being the only ghost and being mauled repeatedly by villagers.
Oh, and I love Mad Memories! I was considering getting a backpack, but this is so much cooler. So, people are going to complain, but I’m here as a satisfied GW fanatic saying, "Awesome event! <3 "

Mine didn’t count either. I didn’t realize it was supposed to since it was the first one I’d finished, but I’ve heard several people complaining about it. If it is supposed to count, then, yeah, I’d sorta like credit for it.

Belian, thank you! That was the most helpful advice I’ve gotten. Wiped them out no problem!

Yeah, that thing did hardly any damage. I figured out after I fired it the first time that it is slow, and I adjusted for that. But even when I nailed it, I could see they were only taking 58 damage from it which was only a few pixels on their health bar. I was able to aim and fire 3 times with two direct hits before they reached the npcs. Sounds like that’s unusual for this mission.

Sylvari – Thief – Lvl 54: The Sound of Psi-Lance

So, I’m guessing this one is best done with a group instead of solo. I’ve had a few quests that forced me to change my play style to complete on my own, but I don’t see how this one is doable without a group. I got through my other quests as a thief by using scorpion wire to deal with foes one-on-one, used seed turrets to distract others if I got swarmed, and used my heal stealth to get out of sticky situations so I could let my skills recharge. In this one, the weapon they give you to take out the swarm of dredge barely scratches them. They get to the npcs and slaughter them in seconds. If you are able to get back and try to pull, as soon as the solo dredge you pulled gets a chance to attack, the rest aggro. I kept saying “I have enough repair canisters if I can just pick one guy off each time, I can do this” but I couldn’t down a single one in time.

Anybody done this one solo?
