Dear people from Arena – Net,

I would like to registry a complaint.

After trying the “hearts and minds” mission for the fourth or fifth time, without managing to successfully finish it, I feel a little bit frustrated, to say the least.

Although I have been playing GW2 since release, I am not a player with much so called “skill”, as I am already a little bit older. Nevertheless I enjoyed playing GW2 over the years and love the game in general. For this reason I even like to spend some Euros in the Gem- Shop, from time to time, to support you people.

Now this mission (in the present state) is annoying me to a point where it keeps me from logging in to GW2 at all.
After managing to kill Rytlock, Marjory, Caithe and Forgal I was not able to catch the next flight, so to speak, and therefore got a nice electroshock from Mordremoth.

This meant I had to start all over again, as Mr. Rytlock and all the other guys got magically resurrected (okay it is a fantasy game), waiting to be killed again.

This, imho, is the main problem of the design of this mission. I understand that you wanted to make this last mission a challenge. But to me it doesn´t feel like a challenge. It feels like a treadmill. Killing all those evil Illusions for some more times (quite time consuming actually) is not my idea of fun. And I really would like to finish the living story.

So please allow me to make the following suggestions:

1. Remove the “Start – Over” mechanic, i. e. if the player dies, let him or her continue at that (time-)point in the mission.

2. For those players who are able to finish the mission without dying create a new title,
for instance “Undying Dragonslayer”, so people with skill get a nice reward as well.

If this changes should not be possible, at least consider renaming the mission from “Hearts and Minds” to “Frustrations and Treadmills” (sorry for the sarcasm).

This mission, in the present state, is imho dead. And no, it is not resting. It is stiff, bereft of life and joined the choir invisible. This is a late mission.

A sincere consideration of the suggested changes in mission – design would be very much appreciated. Finally (this time without sarcasm or irony) I would like to thank you for creating this great game.

AMD processors are NOT the ‘problem’ go FUD something else!

I cannot tell you what your ‘problem’ may be, just tell you I run AMD and have NO ‘problems’ in game.

Spec is as:-

Win 10 64bit with all fhonehome crap turned off using “Spybot-Anti-Beacon” and as many MS ‘apps’ as possible!!
AMD FX 8350 CPU
AMD Radeon R9 380 4GB GPU (16.8.2 drivers)
GW2 64bit client on an SSD (this may be the important bit to some)
16MB memory on an MSI 970A Krait Ed Motherboard

Keyboard & mouse are wired as is the Tinternet connection.

60-100 FPS occasionally dropping to 50+ in big OTT animation fights.

The Ultimate one, from the buy.guildwars2.com site? Because the deluxe upgrade from gemshop does not have gems in it.
(from what i remember, the gems from Ultimate version are processed once per week, so if that’s the version you bought, you may end up waiting for few days)

Mr Quinn, you may have missed previous threads explaining that: when you buy gems on an existing account they know your payment is legit. When you get the half-price gems with the Ultimate HoT purchase, they have to make sure the payment clears. Apparently the initial prepurchasers ran into or caused problems with getting gems and then canceling the purchase (or turning out to be stolen accounts). So they put in a 72 hour delay to fix these issues.

the ‘new’ account is 3 years old … I can buy gems, and have done in the past, and probably should have just done so … but no, I didn’t know why one has to wait for your ‘purchase’ on an existing account.

PvE is still pretty dull and doesn’t require any serious group coordination. Everyone is still just wearing DPS gear and spamming down everything – there’s no place for a support focused class(unless it’s damage buffing) when everyone can very well keep themselves alive and well on their own without them.

Bosses have some mechanics but they’re not like you’re going to see in a game like WoW where people start dropping like flies if they don’t properly handle them. For better or worse, there’s a lot of cushioning for failure, and some classes can get away without doing much active avoidance. Multiple serious mistakes have to be made by multiple people to fail most PvE content.

Tequatl, The Viscount, the Skeletal Lich and the Labyrinthine Horror would all like to have a word with you.

we, as a Guild, went and ‘explored’ the Mad King’s Labyrinth … managed to shut all the doors … lots of candy was recovered.

I’ve looked at a few “build videos” trying to get a grasp of what I may need for certain PVE content, only to be somewhat dismayed at all the Purple stuff I’m gonna need … sorry, not gonna happen!

GW2 is a game I enjoy playing, at the moment.

A new side plot unravels itself this week … become part of it, join in the fun.
