I feel like this was meant to be a solution that instead added more problems.
As for saving inventory space, this it does upfront, however it also adds steps to the salvaging process. This causes even more hassle than opening bags does now. As I would have to do a daily heart every day for this? That’s taking a few seconds of clicking and making me instead spend 5-10 minutes to finish the heart. Even if it was a permanent heart instead of a daily one, I’d still be spending silver to waypoint to them or else even more time to run to them. Alternatively, if they were to add a permanent id kit, that’s another inventory space used up and still adds another step of iding it all only to then salvage it all. This /doubles/ the time it would take to salvage the same number of items. Due to these reasons alone, I think the entire idea of unidentified loot is not a viable solution to the problem it intended to solve.
If ID kits were like salvage kits and you could simply buy those at any merchant while there was an option for a perma-id kit from the gemstore, that would be acceptable. I will state this is not ideal, only acceptable. However the price needs to also be in line with the salvage kits.
Looking at it as a gold sink, currently this actually encourages me to simply ignore IDing the loot and instead sell the mats due to the fact that the price is higher than the worth of most loot. So once I get the skins that I want from this, I have no reason to ever id them again. The chance that I might get a precursor is simply so low, that over any real amount of time spent playing, it would be just as efficient to sell all the mats and buy any precursor I want.
I personally want this entire system done away with. If saving inventory space is the aim then having a single bag type to open would solve every single issue this presents except for acting as a gold sink, which I don’t view as necessary in this application. If more gold sinks are required, there are a plethora of alternatives and those at Anet are masters of coming up with new and inventive ways to handle old problems. If a gold sink is needed, there is a better solution than this.
I already have the outfit so the bundle is a waste, but the moment the backpack is sold on its own I’ll buy it.
That does not fix the weird male sylvari neck glow, at least for me, but for now is a work around for the female sylvari.
Found another weird thing. The glow from the male sylvari outfit seems to show for no reason on one side of neck. It’s only on his left side and the right is fine.
So after more messing with it, I’ve realized I’m mostly getting textures from my other character’s armor. It cycles through a specific set of textures from my characters. For some reason it has picked the headpiece off my human necromancer female wedding outfit, my human female thief’s coat I’ve forgotten the name of now, my sylvari warrior female ‘s t2 top and then a couple I’m uncertain who they come from.
The rotation is seemingly randomly and changing the colors on those characters changes the colors on the dress’ glitched piece. I don’t even know how, but it’s dyed the same and everything.
This is really great <3 So I have to give a big thank you so much to all of those at Anet! I already owned all the dyes, but even so this is still by far the best birthday gift they have done!
Oh no! I thought this was a bug too. I rather liked my necro’s warhorn sounds and like it a little less so now.
I am both amused and sad. I did kind of hope the female sylvari dress would get more textures on the petals before it was released but this what not what I was thinking of. Anyways, hopefully this is an easy fix, I would prefer to be able to use it on the race and gender I specifically bought it for.
I’m hoping they’ll add skelk as a ranger pet. Raintimber Mill has trained skelk, I want one too!
Thank you so much! I was always planning on prepurchasing, but I was unhappy about the lack of a character slot as it meant I’d actually pay $60 for the expansion if I wanted to have access to all of its features including the Revenant. Now I am entirely happy to prepurchase and will be doing so very soon.
Again thank you! <3

Honestly if they had just added a character slot to the standard edition I would have gotten it right away, or if they had made any of the more expensive editions items appealing I might have gotten those, but they didn’t so, I’ll be waiting a bit until this all plays out.

I think it’s very sweet of them to offer the base game for free, however I’ve never purchased an expansion that came with a new class and no new character slot. I suppose anet could trying to encourage us all to buy a new character slots with the gold we’ve been farming out in the silverwastes. If it’s not, that’s shame. It’s what I’ll be doing as I have zero interest in the digital items the more expensive editions offer.

I was entirely prepared to get the shiniest version of the expansion, but honestly I just don’t see it being worth it. Especially not when the price of Hot includes the core game. When I bought the collector’s edition of the base game for what was it 120? 140? I had the gorgeous Rytlock statue, hardcover book, soundtrack and art prints along with all of the digital items.
Now for the expansion they’re wanting $100 for some gems and digital items? woohoo? As it stands now I’ll be getting the standard edition(and buying the character slot I rather thought would be included with the base expansion with gold.)
I do wish I could just buy the expansion rather than buying the base game again, although as I have to buy the base game again do I get 5 character more slots?
I feel I should put this here

The devs have actually been using styles for this thread. The rose pigtail and the new loner pigtails both came from there. If you want longer hairstyles give them pics for ideas
Necros the thread
So I finally have manvari. I went for a long time with only ladyvari, but I now have two guys. So I did more hairstyles I’d like. Really the two I desire most are the branches and african violet mohawk. I know two are mokawks here but the current one in game is kinda boring and the humans have like 4 at this point! Sylvari need more.
The two styles on the right are ones I want for my sylvari revenants that I will have. The african violet mohawk is one I’d like for my necro or one of my ladies. I’m torn. The spock and passion flower styles are ones for characters I have ideas for but haven’t made yet.
Also I did want to say I really do love the new thorn hairstyle that was put out. It’s great. I’m really sad I don’t have a character I want it for.
If I could dye the glow I would have bought the set in a heartbeat, but instead I am just sad. They won’t match my sylvari and so I have no use for them, which means I won’t be throwing my money at Anet.
So sad right now.
Gaile, thank you so much for letting us know! Adding the custom amount fixes all of my issues with it.
Oh? I keep seeing people in this thread that have claimed multiple times that they would never spend any money on the game outside of the original purchase. The thing is that those people that mainly spent actual money on gems are not really that effected by this change.
While I’ll agree this change hurts players who only buy gems with gold, it also leaves anyone who bought gems with money screwed out of changing over any left over gems to gold. I had leftover gems from my last purchase that I was planning to turn to gold once the Halloween patch hit. (Because I knew the gold: gems ratio was about to be in my favor to get as much gold as possible for my gems. ) Perhaps if a ‘Covert all gems to gold’ button was added, that would fix my current problem I’m having with it, but honestly I’d rather have it back the way it was.
Now however, I will always have some weird number of gems left over if I decide to covert it to gold. Currently I’d have 5 leftover gems and have to click 2 buttons 5 times. With the old system I’d have no excess gems and only had to type in the number. Which was 3 keys. So if we’re judging this based on how complicated it is, I’d still say the old system was better.
Summing it up: The new system screws me out of gems that I paid for in USD. You might say it’s only 5 gems, but the old system let me use those 5 gems to buy something I wanted.
I suppose I could wait until the gem price changes to be a multiple of 3 or 5, but again, the new system adds complications where there were none before.
I feel what would be easiest and would make me happy, would be to:
1. Have an option to sell a single gem (Or better yet, let the player set the amount. Like it used to be.)
2. Have an option to buy a single gem (Or better yet, let the player set the amount.)
3. Add the graph back ( It lets me know when it is a good time to sell or buy, and brings me much joy. )
Or just revert it back to the way it was. That would make me the happiest.
I only covert gold and gems when I have weird amounts of gems left, which the current system won’t let me fix. I guess I could spend it all on candy but- lol nope.
If this isn’t fixed I’ll just consider my extra gems a sad tip for all the fine service Anet has given me in the past.
Cause I won't be buying any more gems until then.

Also in the OP’s defense the dyes, wardobe, etc, were level locked. Luckily it’s been fixed since.
When I had last looked there was a locked symbol next to the dyes and wardrobe tabs, but now that’s gone when I make a new toon. Thankfully it seems that level locking the wardrobe and dyes was a bug.
Paradox, I adore you. <3
That is an awesome post and I cannot give I enough +1s
Also there’s another thread for this started in the Bugs section. As surely this is not working as intended. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/BROKEN-Emote-Double-Name-Range/page/2#post4389697
Murke: Murke really hopes it’s not working as intended.
Yes! I’ve been wanting the tribal armor ever since I first saw it. I was crushed when I originally found out it was only available for PvP. And finally when they said all PvP skins were going to be available in PvE, I tried to grind for it but wasn’t fast enough.
I could easily see it being introduced as either an alternative crafted set (as it took the place of the Masquerade set in PvP) or it might be easiest to simply have it as one of the karma vendor sets. To be honest I don’t care how I have to get it, as long as I can actually get it. Just let me have it, please!
I have found one rather annoying flaw with the megaserver. In my experience, crashing during a large event now means you’re thrown into a completely new server once you reconnect. This worked out for me so when trying to attain the new traits, I went through one event 3 times, never to actually get credit.
I suspect with turning down my graphics will solve the problem of crashing, and new updates to gw always has me crashing the first few days anyways before it works itself out. However, for large events like temples ( which aren’t going to be at a set time like the world bosses), this is both annoying and blocks progress.
Actually it’s more I want to find some of the other artists’ work you’ve posted. A lot of those I’ve seen and love, but for a few of those I’d like to see the original post.
But yea, I personally would love more long hair too, I adore the fern hairstyle and keep having to tell myself I can’t have 3 sylvari with the same hair. It doesn’t fit their characters no matter how pretty it is.
Oidmetala, the face you’ve chosen is the exact face in some of the artworks you’ve used as examples.
In the 2nd row, the 4th, 5th and 6th paintings are of that face. As well as a couple in the bottom 2 rows.
Although from these it really seems like you want more humanoid faces which Anet seems to actually be moving away from. (Which I personally am happy with but, different strokes for different folks and all) So I worry you may be out of luck.
Also I would like to say thank you as the 2nd picture in the 2nd row is an old piece of mine and I am glad you like it enough to repost.
But it’s usually nice to give links back to where you find art.
And Ragnar, you’re in luck if you want those faces, as 2 of the 3 pictures you’ve reposted are an actual in game face.
So a friend and I have been working for about 3 months now to build Divinity’s Reach in Minecraft, with just the two of us and our little block hands. We have recently finished Salma Distict.

So a friend and I have been working for about 3 months now to build Divinity’s Reach in Minecraft, with just the two of us and our little block hands. We have recently finished Salma and here is a teaser of it.
On the 20th we’ll put up the full video.
Hope you like it!
Vgomes, that lilac hair is pretty cool. Love the idea of it opening and closing.
And Evanlysis, I really love the pigtails and that first style you have.
Hmm, so with mossy hairs off of the table, I had to come up with a new style for my necromancer. So I did more sketches. I came up with pitcher plant and venus fly trap styles for her. Although, before the redesign Caithe had sort of a mossy hair style and so I’m curious what happened with that.
The willow style was one I’ve had for a while but thinking about the restrictions, I don’t think it would work. However, it did have one thing I haven’t seen brought up yet, which is braided wood. As people can braid trees in real life I thought it would be neat to use in branch hair styles to help take up space so they didn’t feel bald.
Also I really really want a branch style that feels like a mix between a wind swept tree and antlers. I can’t help but think about the sylvari personal story about the pale stag, and wonder how cool it would look with a stark white sylvari with this asymmetrical antler style next to the stag.
Conncept, I think I’ve guessed why we haven’t seen any weeping willow styled hair. That large space between the curtain of leaves and trunk is one of the things that makes people recognize weeping willows and unfortunately putting that shape on a sylvari head just looks really weird.
However, I too am sad for their lack. So if you’ll put up a couple hairstyle pictures like Kooki did, I’ll throw the pictures and a willow tree in my Idea Masher 9000 and we’ll see what pops out. (aka: I’ll do a couple sketches)
Summourn, for the moss I just used a photoshop brush. Cause I got alllll the texture brushes. So it’s way less impressive that you think, but thanks anyways!
Thanks Mystique, I’m glad you like it! And it does makes sense that we’d bump into each other on the sylvari forums…
Also am I the only one who looks at Vgomes’ awesome cotton afro and sees http://static.bbc.co.uk/history/img/ic/640/images/resources/people/elizabeth_i.jpg ?
So I forgot what I really wanted for my ele. I still like the long style I had, but with this my Mab can really feel in bloom and I can’t believe I forgot it in my last post. Also I don’t have a turn around for this one cause it’s just Canach’s flower on her head, with leaves and vines coming down.
@ iriyabran I’m gonna need one too!
I doubt we’ll ever see it, but I wantsss it!
Daydreaming you say? About what we want for our characters?
I can do that.
For my mesmer I’d love something feminine that implied dreadlocks. Using maybe vines twisted together and for the glow I was thinking could look like beads on the vines.
The pony tail we currently have is nice but I don’t think it glows enough and a dreadlock pony tail similar in style to the female norn hairstyle would be awesome.
Also I thought the mossy hair style Summourn sketched was pretty much the best idea ever. It just really feels like a hair style well suited for a necromancer which I don’t think the current styles cover very well. >.> Which is the only reason I don’t have one right now.
For my elementalist I wish there was a simple but long leaf style with tiny flowers peeking out. I picked lily of the valley for the flowers because I love their shape especially if they were the glowing part. They’d be like tiny glowing lanterns and for some reason it’s adorable to me.
The only other thing I could possibly want for any of my characters in Meridan’s hair from Brave but in wisteria.
We sort of do. Whenever a necro casts anything we get a black smokey scythe blade. It’s most noticeable on staves and I personally really like the effect on Deathwish.
If you want an actual scythe there is a skin from Halloween on the TP that is a bit expensive. There is also Final Rest, a staff that is reminiscent of a scythe.
Hey Invertation! Thanks!
Did you play Gw1 by chance? Your name sounds really familiar. I think I actually drew a picture for you a long time ago.
These are ridiculously adorable!
lol, that’s great. The poor Asuran looks so sad though!
Hey there! I’m Murke and I’ve been lurking around since beta but only just noticed they have fan art forums. Guess I was too busy lurking around in Game discussion to make it all the way down here. It’s sad, I’ve been missing the best forum for so long.
Anyways have some art!
http://diramurkeheol.deviantart.com/art/Murke-And-Aataxe-359324276 This is pretty much my favorite drawing I’ve done so far, it did take me a month so I might be a little biased.
http://diramurkeheol.deviantart.com/art/Thief-320596144 A very thief-y thief.
And of course all my stuff can be found on my DeviantArt page. http://diramurkeheol.deviantart.com/
And I do take gold commissions occasionally.
These are really amazing! About how long does it take you to draw one of these if you don’t mind me asking?
Here is what the offical page says on them:
You can find weapon tickets inside Rich Dragon Coffers and (rarely) in Dragon Coffers, and exchange them for weapon skins from Black Lion Weapon Specialists in every major city!
Also look for holographic projectors scattered all across Tyria during the celebration. These mini-projector devices contain hologram minions which can drop a Dragon Bash surprise… a Dragon Coffer!
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/releases/june-11-2013/ (So you can see for yourself)
What this sounds like to me is that with the Rich Dragon Coffers you will get a ticket, but this item will probably only be in the gemstore. And while you can get a Dragon Coffer around the world, they have only a rare chance to give you a ticket.
I think it might be neat to use the Meat as either a hammer or mace. It’s already an enviornmental weapon, so it shouldn’t be terribly difficult to make into a weapon skin. And I can’t help but think it’d be perfect for a norn or charr.
Race: Human
Gender: Female
Profession: Necromancer
Boots: Ascalonian Clergy Shoes transmuted
The boots won’t dye midnight purple. When I dye them they change color in the hero tab, but once I close it they revert to un-dyed. What’s weird is they will dye every other color except midnight purple, which is of course the color I want.
