I got my first Guaranteed Wardrobe Unlock today and was searching through it and discovered a few skins missing.
Buccaneer Helm (medium)
Primitive Cowl (light)
Nightshade Shoulderguards and Nightshade Leggings (Sylvari medium cultural)
Toxic Shouldpad (medium)
Toxic Pauldron (heavy)
Toxic Armguard (medium)
Flamewrath armor set (heavy) – I already have Flamewalker (medium) and Flamekissed (light) so I can’t verify if these are included or not, but the wiki doesn’t show them.

All new elite specs are awesome. They fit very thematically to Elona and are based in the lore. The mechanics and play of them (from the time I put into exploring them, which wasn’t as much as I wanted) seemed great. They are all great ideas and have been developed very well. However, NONE of them felt elite. HoT elite specs significantly boosted each prof in some way, while all PoF elite specs simply alter the prof’s mechanics to something very unique. That uniqueness is very appealing, but it’s very hard to see ppl sacrificing the elite power of HoT elite specs in favor of less power but varied gameplay in PoF.

When GW2 first launched, my guild started a guild warband. It was a very fun exercise in unity. We invited all guildies who wanted to, and still offer to all new guildies, who create a Charr character to join the Fell warband. It’s become kind of a large warband and I can’t keep them all straight, but we’ve got Fellblade, Fellshot, Fellspine, Fellheart, Fellsnow, Fellmyst, Fellstorm, Fellfire, Fellfang, just to name a few. Guild warband ftw!

What gave you the idea that gattaiing with the pet gives you all of its attributes? Ranger would then become most op profession, with Rapid Fire and Maul powered by 4k unbuffed power + 100% unbuffed crit chance.
I’m looking at the numbers for the Soulbeast, compared to actually having a pet, and I can’t help but wonder how this is an elite specialization. Beastmode causes you to lose a significant amount of attributes. It seems that this was only made to pander to the pet-whiners.
As an example, let’s look at the Lynx pet. By itself, at character lvl 80, the Lynx has
Power: 1524
Precision: 2211
Toughness: 1524
Vitality: 2211
Condition Dmg: 1000
By itself, the Lynx does some very nice damage! When you enter beastmode, you trade all those atts for +200 condi dmg and +100 precision on yourself, a SIGNIFICANT decrease, not to mention the loss of a combat companion and meatshield. 200 condi dmg increases bleed dmg by a measly 12 dmg per stack while 100 precision yields a paltry 4.75% crit chance. These numbers seem utterly pathetic to me.
I am either missing something entirely, or this is going to be another disappointing ranger elite spec. I REALLY hope it’s the former.
Leader of the Guardians of Light (GoL)
Soulbeast mode, for lack of a better term, doesn’t look like its something that is intended to be camped. What I mean is you may start a fight with your pet out and dps’ing, swap to SB to use skills and swap back out or maintain it for an attack chain. The same way we swap weapons might be the better way to look at how to use this. SB provides more play options, not to just sit in it, similar to what weaver will be for ele.
And while in beastmode, you lose the pet and the 1524 power, the 2211 precision, the 1524 toughness, the 2211 vitality, and the 1000 condition dmg that you once had while that pet was at your side, which, getting back on point, was the concern for the initial discussion. How can this be an elite spec if you’re not upgraded by using it, like every other profession’s elite spec, but instead, DOWNgraded? Getting a few extra skills is not an upgrade equivalent to the other elite specs.
Leader of the Guardians of Light (GoL)
On topic, Soulbeast looks like it’ll fit a few of my rangers nicely and shouldn’t disappoint.
Other than the concept of the Soulbeast, which is AMAZINGLY cool, and playing something entirely new for the class, I’m very interested to hear more about how you think it will fit with your rangers. Could you please maybe elaborate a little?
Leader of the Guardians of Light (GoL)
And how is the loss of all those attributes that exist on the pet, even for 1 second, elite?

In the Nov 21, 2016 update (and release of A Crack in the Ice), the update notes say, “Enterprising adventurers have attracted the attention of the Harbinger.”
Can anybody please explain what this is?
Leader of the Guardians of Light (GoL)
I’ve been holding onto this last step for months now, not knowing what last effects my choice will have. I’ve read the wiki article and it still is not clear to me. Can anybody please explain to me the difference between the choices? Of course, I mean mechanically/functionally, not morally. :P

Now that recipe sheets are unlocked account-wide, what about the same recipes we purchased on multiple characters that would now be considered duplicate? Like in Silverwastes, I bought the Sinister Intricate Gossamer insignia recipes for 3 different chars: armorsmith, leatherworker, and tailor – that’s 800 bandit crests that are now wasted (for the 2 extra). Can something like this be refunded?
Obviously, this would be much harder to track, but I did the same thing for the Light of Dwayna back piece recipes. I bought the recipes for all 3 armor disciplines. I think I bought them on the TP, so I know I might just be screwed on that one, and that’s ok if nothing can be done about it. But is any sort of refund for duplicated recipes possible? If so, is something in the works?
Leader of the Guardians of Light (GoL)
While those can be crafted, the recipe must be purchased first, eliminating it from the discovery panel.

Here’s the list of jute recipes:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Jute_Epaulet_Padding
and the list of wool recipes:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Wool_Epaulet_Padding
I only used the epaulet padding as an example here, but it applies to any and all other crafting components. Note how there are only 13 recipes listed on the wiki page for jute, but when you put that actual component into the discovery panel, it shows 14 possible recipes. It is the same for wool. There seems to be 1 additional recipe hidden in game that is not documented on the wiki or anywhere else.
Does anybody know what this recipe is?
Leader of the Guardians of Light (GoL)
I’ve been going through the crafting recipes I have discovered/unlocked and I have found something odd and frustrating to a completionist like me. My discovery panels for all armor crafting disciplines show 14 possible recipes for all jute components and 23 possible recipes for all wool components, while the wiki (and all other sites I can find) show only 13 and 22 possible recipes, respectively. What is this extra recipe?

Ancient Seeds:
“Striking a stunned, dazed, knocked down, or launched foe summons roots to entangle them.”
Foes are not becoming entangled when I strike them after they trigger Spike Trap. Am I not timing the strike correctly? Is this a bug?
Leader of the Guardians of Light (GoL)
Exactly. Why are Dragonhunters better rangers than rangers?
Leader of the Guardians of Light (GoL)
I’ve only been so-so paying attention to WvW/PvP, but I would like an explanation on why the trapper rune bonus was cut down by 33%.
Seriously! Has anybody got an explanation yet? And if it was due to guardian traps, then nerfing ranger and thief traps, too, is NOT the way to fix it!
Leader of the Guardians of Light (GoL)
Well, what about us rangers?
Leader of the Guardians of Light (GoL)
So now you kill our trap runes? Please leave us alone!
Leader of the Guardians of Light (GoL)
Anybody know what the ICD is?
Leader of the Guardians of Light (GoL)
Well, the spirit mechanics need a serious re-work all around.
Leader of the Guardians of Light (GoL)
It’s not like I just tried it once. I did it very many times, far more than is necessary for a statistically sound measurement. It is not 75% chance. I was seeing MAYBE 10% chance overall. This does not add up at all, unless there’s an internal cooldown once you do trigger the burning.
Leader of the Guardians of Light (GoL)
(edited by Musha.4025)
I was playing around with spirits again after they got nerfed to death to see if I could make something work when I noticed a few things that make spirits even worse than I thought they were:
Once you cast a spirit, it seriously takes 3 seconds for the spirit to give you it’s effect? Once the spirit is summoned it should be immediate! Then I was looking at the sun spirit and the numbers are way off. It does not have a 75% chance of granting burning. It actually seems it has a 75% of not granting burning. Is there an internal cooldown on the burning or something? And why does it take so long for it to apply blind when I command it to cast solar flare? If I need blind, I need it now. I’d like to use it tactically; not predict it will be effective in 1-2 seconds from now.
I also noticed that even after I kill the spirit, it continues to grant it’s effect for a good 15 seconds after it dies. I’m happy about that, but that’s not what the tooltip says.
Perhaps I’m missing something, but it seems these spirits may not be working as they’re supposed to. Somebody wanna actually explain this to me?
Leader of the Guardians of Light (GoL)
Can you please add additional dye options for some minor character customizations like norn tattoos and character hair accessories? Currently the only way to change these things is through makeover kits, but it’s such a waste of a makeover kit just to change a color. I would even feel it is worth it to have this be a gem store item where we could purchase the feature unlock from the gem store.
Leader of the Guardians of Light (GoL)
Oh no! Then I’ll never get to do the Great Fear step on this character?!
Leader of the Guardians of Light (GoL)
Wait, has the PS already been restored?
Leader of the Guardians of Light (GoL)
My current story step is “The Battle of Fort Trinity.” What do I need to do to make sure I am able to play the restored story steps?
Leader of the Guardians of Light (GoL)
Foxfire clusters and bricks of clay are only used for making Mawdrey. Pretty sure the entire point of Mawdrey is to make you suffer as much as possible while crafting it, so no storage slot.
For now…
But ambrite, quartz crystals, and watchwork sprockets have very limited uses, too, but they still have their own slots.
Leader of the Guardians of Light (GoL)
(edited by Musha.4025)
Why have doubloons not been given their own slots in the mat storage yet?
Leader of the Guardians of Light (GoL)
Well, I’m lvl 500 now and it only shows 48 undiscovered ecto recipes (all for the ineffables). So somewhere in the process, 2 recipes got done. I’m guessing they were the ecto refinement that are locked until lvl 450.
Leader of the Guardians of Light (GoL)
Nope, all runes unlocked.
Leader of the Guardians of Light (GoL)
Ok, that’s it then! All the ineffable stuff brings the discovery count to 48, now I just need to find the missing 2.
Leader of the Guardians of Light (GoL)
Thanks for your replies so far, but I have already bought every karma recipe and while the insignias do cost ectos to craft, none of the discovery involving those insignias does (that I’ve found yet). Also, the ineffable insignias are automatically included in the production tab, so no discovery is involved.
Leader of the Guardians of Light (GoL)
I am a level 434 Leatherworker. I have used my discovery tab to discover every possible recipe with the components I have. However, it still shows 50 possible recipes that can be discovered using ectoplasm. I have stacks and stacks of all other materials, including some mats required for ascended crafting. Granted, I still haven’t done any ascended crafting, but nowhere on the wiki or anywhere else does it show 50 ascended recipes requiring ectos. Can anybody please help me figure out what these 50 locked recipes are?
Leader of the Guardians of Light (GoL)
All of these things were available before the update. We could have these things WITH the + condi dur from trait lines. Since they took away stat bonuses from traits, now we can’t get the same + condi dur as before. What I am asking for is something to replace what was taken from us.
Leader of the Guardians of Light (GoL)
Before the update, we could increase condition duration through trait lines, but now that that’s gone, how are we to increase our condition duration? Please provide more ways to increase our condition duration.
Leader of the Guardians of Light (GoL)
With my current shortbow, I have 20% increased condi duration and a condi dmg value of 1342.
Base bleed duration for Crossfire is 3s, which becomes 3.6s. With the new numbers for bleeding, my bleed dmg should be (1342 * .06) + 22 = 102.52. This should yield a total of 369 bleed dmg. But the tooltip only shows 308.
Base poison duration of poison volley is 4s, which becomes 4.8s (x5). With the new numbers for poison, my poison dmg is (1342 * .06) + 33.5 = 114.02. Then, I also have Poison Master equipped for +25% poison dmg. Thus, I calculate that I should be getting… 114.02 * 4.8 * 5 = 2736.48… + .25 * 2736.48 = 3420.6 damage with Poison Volley. However, the skill’s tooltip is only showing a poison dmg value of 2851. If I take out Poison Master, my dmg should be 2736.48, but the tooltip only shows 2281.
Base duration for Crippling Shot is 6s, becoming 7.2s. Again, calculations are (1342 * .06) + 22 = 102.52, giving a total of 738 bleed dmg. Tooltip shows only 718 dmg. At least here the numbers are closer than with Crossfire.
And I’m getting the same lower than expected numbers for all of my other condi dmg skills. With gear and traits, Flame Trap should give 1630 burning dmg per pulse, but only gives 1357. Viper’s Nest should be giving 3284 poison dmg per pulse, but is only giving 799 (it is also only giving 1 stack poison per pulse instead of 3 as mentioned in update notes). Entangle should yield 4921 bleed dmg but only gives 4614. Split Blade should give 3047 bleed dmg, but only gives 2770. Spike Trap is the only skill showing correct numbers where I calculate 7381 bleed dmg and it actually gives 7382.
Why am I not getting the dmg I should be getting?
Leader of the Guardians of Light (GoL)
Yeah, I loved that proposed grandmaster! Woulda been nice. Glad to hear the HS thing is a bug.
The SB buff while moving would be SO MUCH better! Next best would be to increase the duration of the Light on Your Feet effect. Lastly, spread the effect to trigger on other skills.
I would love to see quick shot add a cripple or slow. I think the rest of your ideas are great.
Leader of the Guardians of Light (GoL)
I loved running condi dmg trap ranger! I could get a sharpening stone activation with Keen Edge, extra bleeds with Sharpened Edges, and then of course the extended condi duration and shortened recharge of my traps. Now, no more Keen Edge, and I have to CHOOSE between the extra bleeds and the extended trap condis? I can’t have both anymore?! What is that about?
If Healing Spring is now a trap skill, why does it not activate Rune of the Trapper?
The new Light on Your Feet trait seems like it could be good, but it lasts only 4s. Does the damage increase also affect condi dmg? If not, why the heck not? And why does it only activate after a dodge roll? Especially since they ONCE AGAIN decreased Natural Vigor? Can they have it activate after an evade skill as well? That way, the short bow can synergize with itself here and the increased dmg can be a bit more sustained.
Leader of the Guardians of Light (GoL)
There’s not a new trait line (at least not until trait lines are replaced by specializations and elite specializations go live). We are discussing all the trait changes that were revealed here:
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/ready-up-core-specializations-summary/
Leader of the Guardians of Light (GoL)
What about the trait for spirit weapons to last longer? Also, every guardian weapon is getting a trait to reduce recharge of that weapon’s skills by 20% except for scepter.
What if Shattered Aegis, in addition to damaging foes, also burns foes for some additional damage? That sounds a bit more grandmastery to me.
Then Pure of Heart can be combined with Unscathed Contender to synergize more with dodging and increased endurance regen. Do more damage while you have aegis, but when it is removed, you heal.
This opens up room for another major adept trait under Virtues.
Leader of the Guardians of Light (GoL)
There’s an event at the NW of Iron Marches that takes place at Invictus Castrum called Prevent the Flame Legion from capturing Invictus Castrum
It seems that this event is bugged as it has fail conditions (the Flame Legion can attempt to capture the camp), but it is impossible to fail. During the event a group of ogres from the north will come down to assist with the event but these ogres can not die. Therefore, the Flame Legion can never make any progress on their progress bar. Is this intentional or a bug?
Leader of the Guardians of Light (GoL)
Another in-game culture that is sensitive about their heritage is the Zephyrites. What common items do they have that would fit into a cylindrical container?
Leader of the Guardians of Light (GoL)
I’ve been able to get Mad Memories I-III, but for IV onward the ghosts aren’t coming around. Is this a bug? Or is there something I’m missing?

His resolve hardened, one more attempt, he starred at yet another dulled blade, one more chance for results…this wasn’t going to be fun.
This sounds like harvesting tools, going after something with a low drop rate: passion flowers.

After a series of failures his luck had turned. Such a trivial thing by itself, but with many, there was power.
Could this be that literal? Is it luck essences?
Leader of the Guardians of Light (GoL)
Well, I have a suggestion, given that Halloween is coming very soon. Please make Mad Memories available again! Either by bringing the scavenger hunt back, or by having an NPC in game that you can show your Mad Memories: Complete Edition to and gives you the basic Mad Memories in response.
Leader of the Guardians of Light (GoL)
Before this game was released there was a lot of talk about mini games, namely, bar fight and shooting gallery. Both of these seemed to be used as major selling points for the game. Whatever happened to both of these? Why were they never implemented?
