In my opinion, veto is the way to go for team queue.
Random between opponents and my team to decide who’ll pick up first.
- our team remove : Skyhammer
- they remove : Battle of Kyhlo
- our team remove : Temple of The Silent Storm
- they remove : Legacy of the Foefire
Map decided by both team for this game : Forest of Niflhel.
Of course, you have to take some considerations :
- Only your group leader can vote for your team.
- He has 10 secondes to vote. After that, the game selects and removes a map for you.
- We need 5 maps in the mappool.
No, the glory boosters will not be replaced, but they will be removed. The new rewards system is going to be awesome, so it should balance out. I realize that’s less than ideal, but it had to be done.
Allie why you don’t allow us to sell our glory boosters as junks? (ex : 25 copper /unite)
Q : Where is Chaplan ?
Should we be concerned about the fact that we didn’t receive any roster confirmation after 10 days ? Or are you still sending email ?
Skyhammer is really fun to play in hotjoin and it needs some few changes to make this map perfectly fine for solo queue and team queue.
I know that a lot of people in my guild definitly love to play on Skyhammer.

Sounds great to me ! However I hope you’ll change this ugly Game asset by something better.. That ruins a bit the esthetic of the map. (1st pict)
In my opinion Skyhammer has just one more issue that you should fix, the cannon ! The canon is too strong right now and of course there are a lot of ways to fix it.
Of course you could :
- allow us to dodge and evade the cannon.
- reduce the area effect of the cannon.
- increase the time between 2 uses.
- decrease damages from the cannon
but honestly I don’t like any of those changes..
As you mentioned before, the position of your character should be important on Skyhammer and I think you should apply the same philosohpy to the cannon. Damages from the cannon should be reduced by 70% or reduce to 0 IF your character isn’t on the same level that the point of impact of the canon.
In exemple :
The canon hits the floor at point B, I see that and I decide to jump on the roof (pilars) of the point B, in that case I take 0 damage BUT it’s easy for my opponent to decap or capture the point, to knock me down and at point A and C I take a high risk to be out of the map by knockback or fear because I have to be on the edge of the point if I want to reach the roof and avoid damage. The other idea is, the more far you are from the point of impact, the less damage you take. It’s like in counter strike, when the bomb explodes damages are significantly different if you are close or far from the bomb. But in the other hand the area effect should be a bit bigger than it’s right now and more punishing if you are close to the point of impact..

so when do u will show leaderboardrank in the scoreboard? i know it was already suggested a few times.. that would stop that constant qq about low or high rank players.
Not a bad idea. I’ll bring it up with the team. It might be confusing though because there is already a “Rank” on the leaderboards.
Show us our MMR on the scoreboard AND on the leaderboard please. People are still thinking that PvP rank means skill .. If you show us our MMR and if the matchmaking system is good then people will not complaint about your matchmaking anymore.

In my opinion, you need to replace glory with something different, as new rewards are lined up for the end of the year. Glory was proved to be nothing but trouble during the last year. First with the birthday booster, and then with the notorious glory farming situation.
In the first case scenario, people could earn incredible amounts of glory. So much that let’s just say that someone could earn 30,000 glory per game while scoring no more than 300 points. That is 200,000 glory per hour! “Normal” players, on the other hand, are able to gain 2,500 glory, while spending the same time in sPvP. That is a huge difference, isn’kitten
In Skyhammer Glory Farmers are earning even more glory, by jumping into the void for 5 minutes… So instead of playing the game the way it’s meant to be played, they reside on exploits like this to earn more glory. All this, at the expense of those players that follow the rules.
Jonathan Sharp had mentioned once in Guru’s SotG that his team is working on a new system, yet to be introduced, that will allow players to convert their glory into gold. I’m all fine with such an option, but as long as people will keep earning more and more gold by playing the game the wrong way or having an advantage over the rest of the players due to various bugs that exist within the game, that does not please me at all.
And let’s assume that you can even buy legendaries, or any other stuff, with a certain amount of glory at some point in the future, if you play the game as intented you’ll have been left far behind when it comes to such personal goals, in comparison with others.
I believe that the revamped PvP rewards system should only allow players to convert glory to gold. Something in the lines of 1 glory for a copper. What I find important though is that this system should prohibit players from earning more than 100 gold out of a single exchange. This way, even if they have an initial amount of 1,000,000 glory for example, they will only gain 100 gold.
Last but not least, I still cannot understand why you don’t disable skyhammer in custom arenas. Even if you are not willing to take such an extreme measure you could at least stop distributing points for leaps of faith.

They have talented artists, and I think the best way to organize sigils and runes is replaced the bag icon at the Armosmith and Weaponsmith. Each icon must be different but easy to recognise.
For example, 2 arrows in a circle for each sigils on switch, or the target in a circle for each Sigils on crit..
They have to rework a lot of things about the UI in PvP. A search bar would be great as well.

Great topic ! I like the way you describe your vision of the GvG and guild house and there a lot of pretty nice ideas in there. I hope devs will take a look at this and think about this topic when working on.

Can you fix the lag on EU servers please ? Since the last update we got too many lags, we can’t play at all in tournament during the night..
Since the patch I have received Free and Paid items from 2 team tournament. So I thnk it’s fixed.
I think as small as the pvp system is in the mists a solo que would be fine
make it:
Paids
Free Tournaments
Solo Tournaments
I think they can have these 3 modes without having to split there player base
We don’t need 3 mods. Free or Solo que tournaments is the same for me.
I think that could help people if we have transition between the 8vs8 FFA and the paid tournament. That’s were the solo / duo que is interesting.
Servers are not realy lively to find a team right now in the chat. So what can we do if we want to play tournaments? I can stay 2hours in the heart of the mist and see no one asking or propose to go to tournaments.
We are in 2013 every multiplayer game who wants to be an Esport game must have a solo que. Look at LoL or recently with CS:GO ..
And the most important people wanna play for FUN and quickly.. Free tournaments are not fun if you are alone or just with a friend if you ahave ton find a group before to go. And 8v8 or 5v5 FFA doesn’t have a lot of interest to me.

I think we need solo que only for free tournament and kee the paid tournament for teams.
The 1 team vs 1 team is totally better than the small tournament as we could see before. But there is a need to improve it.
Everyone are talking about a random map for 1 team vs 1 team, but in fact why will we not be able to chose the map we want to play ? Or the map we don’t want to play ?
I know some people realy like “Battle of Khylo”, but it’s maybe the map that other people hates the most. I think that what we need is, a map that you chose and your opponent chose too. How to chose ? A veto map. For example to Veto a map on Call of Duty or Counter Strike would be to not play on the current map, and look at other options. For That we need an odd number of maps, but we have only 4 maps we can play in tournament.
Why not have a pop up window as we can have in dungeon when you chose your path, and instead you chose the map you didn’t want to play and some for your opponent. AND a second chose if you didn’t like the same map.
In Guild Wars 2, you / lose a game in maybe 8-10 minutes for a balanced game. I personnaly think we need a “Best Of 3” (BO3) for competition. What’s a BO3 ? You play up to 3 games (3maps), and whoever has the majority wins. The first team to get 2 wins is the winner (2-0 or 2-1).
The game is close but unfortunately you lose the game, on the map that your team and your opponent have chosen. But you’re still in the game beacause you can try to beat them on a map YOU choose. If you lose the second map, you lose the game. If you win your map, I wish you good luck for the last round on their map to see who is the best team.
This format is realy intersting to have t’s realy intersting to have something like this for an Esport Game, but you couldn’t do it if you have too many casuals and not a lot of players who want to play in a competitive way.

In fact we’ll able to use every weapon/armor skins we have unlocked and apply it to every items we want.

wth are you talking about? can you delete this reply it has nothing to do with fixing the problem we are having.
the problem i am talking about is now when we are on treb we cant see anything. it now is basically blind fire trebs and hope you get hits. (spray and pray) it basically = zero skill and lots of luck.
if you are shooting enemy home point it is most noticeable.
I know what you are talking about but I’m talking about another bug for trebuchet,because that’s not the only one. Do you thing that’s good when you can’t use your trebuchet because this is the enemy trebuchet instead ?
When I’m Red and when at the blue place I couldn’t destroy the enemy trebuchet but instead I could use it, I think there is a problem and even if it’s occasional it is good to report.
That’s just another information about the malfunction of the trebuchet. By the way the title of this topic is : Trebuchet is broken.. So I explain my case that’s it.
I think if we want improve the game we need to report everything about one subject, here the trbuchet. We don’t want a fix for something and the next week there is another bug. It’s not step by step that we want it’s a general fix about it to fix it once and for all.

I’m here today to report one realy strange bug. Our trebuchet was downed at the begining and after that we decide to repair the trebuchet and what a surprise we couldn’t use it.
It was a trebuchet that we could destroy as the screenshot below :
Favorite map has been added for futur update with custom areas.
I love it. But isn’t it a little too big for 5v5 ?
I think there is lot’s of good changes and maybe you need to play a little bit in tournament to see how great it’s.
A balancing PvP is not easy and they try again and again listening people who screams for nothing or for good reasons.. Waiting for more adds but thanks Anet for this first big step to improve sPvP.
Exept for Engineers I don’t understand why nerfed them when they are so low before patch and now it’s not better ..
