Hey man, here’s the first stat combo I was talking about:

It’s pretty much a glass cannon setup but with slightly lower crit and more hp.
This is the one that I have been really considering:

This one in theory is tankier but can still do decent damage.
Anyways, let me know what you think – always open to suggestions : )
Hey, my brother linked his account to the google authenticator and now he can’t log in, not even into the forums, which is why i am here on his behalf. We tried several times to try and figure out what’s wrong, even found a post that said if there was a time difference on the comp and the mobile it won’t work. Not sure if that was fixed, be we set the time on both devices to the exact same, and it still doesn’t work, still get booted back to the log in screen and it says wrong username or password.
If anyone has an answer, or some tips, would love to hear them.
Not sure if this is a new thing or not, but what if the regen from Inspiring Battle Standard was treated like the elementalist’s Soothing Mist. As in, it’s a separate regen buff, allowing the warrior and those around him to benefit from the banner regen as well as the regen boon. I honestly don’t think that this should be a problem, even if there are other passive regen abilities that aren’t considered as the regen boon. For example, the regen for kits on engi, and as mentioned before, soothing mists for the ele.
Anyways, let me know what you guys think, I think that this will bring banners one step closer to being almost viable.
Hmmm another SotG… Perhaps this time we could have more than just mesmer, thief, and ele special guests? Not hating here, just would like someone who mains some of the other classes that need more help, such as warrior and engineer. It doesn’t always feel like those other classes are brought up enough. And when they do, all we get is the class description
Hey guys, been thinking of trying guardian for tournies (usually play war
) but not sure what other kinds of dps builds they are capable of, I know of the 10/30/30/0/0 sw/f and sc/t build, but it feels lacking in certain areas, mostly the ability to stay on a target.
Anyways, if you guys could share a build, and it’s strengths and weaknesses that would be great
By the way, I can’t bunker anymore, something inside me broke after a few weeks of it. So please don’t suggest I go bunker.
Jonathan Sharp, I would sincerely like to thank you for consistently posting on this thread, It gives me at least the smallest bit of proof that at least one Dev reads and responds (responding being the better part) to what we the players are saying. Even if you’re only able to say the dreaded “soon”, I still am gracious for the fact that at least somebody cares enough to respond to us.
On another note, many of us hate hearing the word “soon”, would it be to difficult to give us an ETA? Whether you deliver it 3 days before or after this ETA, it would still give many of us some shred of hope knowing that we can expect A, B, or C, by such and such date. Providing a rough date of release is usually almost always better than constantly saying “soon”. It gives people a physical date that they can hopefully expect to see some changes instead of the sense of not knowing that “soon” spreads. It’s the same principal of that one saying, “If I can’t see it, then it’s not true”. Please don’t take this in any way as meant to harm or insult, just trying to smother the grease fire that was this recent patch.
By the way, before you rage me for being a “Dev Lover”, I play warrior as my main.
Not sure, but did I see a ~50mb patch around 6:30 pm PST? Anybody know what it was for?
It’s probably a lot like preschool, they were just about to start that bit, when the teacher said nap time.
I don’t think you guys got the reference
google leave britney alone
That was super annoying, couldn’t make it through the whole 2 minutes.
Now you know how it feels to play a warrior in tourneys
That’s the problem, I main as a warrior in spvp/tpvp

You should challenge the top Warriors, cuz I don’t think ANet employees play their game.
If they do, they don’t play warrior.
Many great ideas and suggestions are made by the players of the forums, yet how do we know that the Devs even read them? It’s quite possible their interns do, but do the actual Devs read anything that the community brings up and pushes to be done? All this morning I have read post after post about how the quickness nerf effected each class, from what I could gather, the 3 classes hit MOST by this was;
1) the Warrior (no more tpvp for me
)
2) the Ranger (the ranger relied on this to speed up slow pet attacks, and many other tasks)
3) the Mesmer (Time Warp, this one actually kind of makes sense, but eh)
(by the way, fix all the passive traits that give/proc quickness please)
As for the other changes;
Warrior:
If you’re going to buff banners, at least give them an adrenaline ability where the warrior puts the banner on his back (so he can keep track of 1, and still attack with his weapon of choice) until it expires, each bar of adrenaline would extend the life of the banner by X seconds. As for the quickness nerf, it affected warriors the most because it made that skill all but useless, who would want to hit 50% faster, and take 50% more dmg for 5 seconds? Have some common sense, and reduce the % of bonus damage you take while in Frenzy to at least 25%.
Engineer:
No more 100nades, but also no more caltrops from TK and no more bonus SE from EG. When I saw the SoTG, I thought that they wouldn’t touch TK’s and EG’s kit refinement bonus, after all, they said they were going to make it more “utility” and “support”. Got to admit though, magnet bomb is a nice change, at least for me. Additionally, Med kit got a great improvement, if I remember correctly, it used to be a bomb, which wasn’t that helpful. I do agree with many though, a.net really threw mutli-kit builds under the bus with the 20 second ICD for all kits. Would probably be better if it was 20 ICD separate for each kit.
Ranger:
Ever seen a ranger pet attack someone? It’s slow most of the time (canines are the most visible, as they are used the most), that is why many rangers rely of quickness to not only speed up their pets attacks, but to also get some sort of burst in. I’m neutral on the GS buffs as far as if they are decent or not, but for a class that should be pretty self-explanatory (RANGEr), you would think they would buff the ranged weapons and not the melee ones.
Overall, this patch was in my opinion, 65% bad, and 35% good. The point is, people want more good than bad, maybe a.net should consider a public test server and make any possible changes able to be tested by actual players, competitive or casual, 1-2 weeks before they intend to release the proposed change, but that would require more effort on their part. Anyways, let’s keep this mostly civil, do you guys agree or disagree that a public test server be a top priority for a.net?
(by the way, congrats, you made it through yet another wall of text
)
In light of the recent patch, a.net could use some help with their balancing…
Something that caught my attention the other day (and I am not sure if this has been mentioned before), but why do certain warrior abilities just not make any sense?
Let’s take a look at the Dolyak Signet (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Dolyak_Signet)…
The idea of taking less damage is nice, but I’m more concerned about the activated effect. To put it plainly, why isn’t it a stun breaker? Seriously, it has a 60 second cd (48 seconds when traited), has a 1/4 second activation time (really?), and not to mention, when you need the stability, you’re usually stunned/cc’d already. What I suggest is that all they do to improve this signet is to bump off the activation time and make it a stun breaker. Makes signet builds a little better don’t you think?
And now a look at Shake It Off (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/%22Shake_It_Off!%22)…
Another ability that I think should get some love is Shake It Off. Nothing to big, just grant 3-5 seconds of stability to the warrior, after all, why would I want to shake something off, only to be whacked up-side the head and stand there staring at the pretty stars while people pound on me? I don’t see this as an unlikely buff, but I know there are those who would argue against it. The way I see it, Guardian has Stand Your Ground, which is an AoE 5 second stability granter and stun breaker, would it really be to much to ask that only the warrior get stability from Shake It off? 3 Shout warrior builds could become a lot more viable from this one buff.
As always, please don’t rage or argue with eachother, just want your guys’ opinion on the matter
And yes… I know about the Last Stand and Shrug It Off (by the way, shouldn’t this trait be effected by Lung Capacity?) traits , so please don’t argue against these suggestions based on the fact that warrior has access to these traits, because not everyone uses them.
On the Slashing Power point, I assume that’s because two-handers are limited to just one sigil. So that trait is basically a 5% damage bonus with a built in 5% damage sigil.
True, but a successful 100b will still do more damage (on average and without quickness) than axe 1 spamming, and on top of that, why should someone who wants to DW have to give up on a sigil slot just to make up for the damage % deficit.
There is something called the “halo” effect, and pretty much it means that when someone first looks at you (the warrior in this case) they come to a conclusion about you based on how you look. All boon hate would do is make warrior more appealing… at first. Though it is an interesting idea, when it comes down to it, a build that utilizes “boon hating” will be very situational, just like the the standard 100b builds we have now.
Let’s face it, a warrior is more likely going to be replaced by a thief for mobility and burst in a tpvp group, and as far as boon stripping/punishing, you have the Necro, and then the Mesmer with Null Field. So, if you’re a boon hate warrior in a group with either of these classes, your usefulness is already hindered.
If they really wanted to bring the warrior up to par with the other classes, then they need to look at some of the most used warrior builds. Such as Defektives LB/GS build, or Shwahrheits Hammer/S&WH build, or even Golradaers Spartan build. The devs need to study what makes these builds better than the rest, and instead of buffing them, try to buff the other utilities/traits that aren’t commonly used.
A great example for the devs would be 20 points into strength, Slashing Power vs. Dual Wielding. Why take DW when it only gives a 5% damage increase, and SP gives a 10% increase? Because of this one trait, more people are swayed towards a GS build than a DW build. If the damage of the DW trait was increased to 10% to match SP, then we would see more people DW.
This is how balancing should be done.
I usually don’t comment on the forums just for the fact that I don’t feel a.net actually applies anything on them to the game (as far as the warrior goes).
My favorite class in the warrior, don’t know why, maybe I’m a glutton for punishment. But what I have noticed, is that no matter how many people make valid points, or great suggestions, I just don’t see any proof that a.net is using any of it.
They seem to do what they think is best, but sometimes they would be better off listening and actually acting upon suggestions made to improve the warrior.
