Man, a feature that involve you seeing people killing each other in open map it’s a BIG change not an add. Imagine a lvl 20 trying to finish some hearts in the middle of a guild war where 30vs30 players are throwing AoEs, they won’t hurt you but it’s kind extrange…or imagine the opposite, you having a guild war and some invulnerable people running around, pointless. Maybe a better idea is to have instances in open map/WvW where gws take place, like Sirendor said.

Where i said PvP break economy? And yes, making easier areas farms worth like end ones will break it.

Because this thread was about adding GvG to the open world to give people a reason to go there. You brought the farming up and I tried to put you back on topic. If you can’t and want to derail instead, please do it in some other thread.

Again you are just reading one phrase of an entire paragraph, read again my first two post…

One more time…making open world GvG will change the core of this game, so you are suggesting something that will change it from the base, changing it to other game, bad idea

While messing with the loot tables could make people actually kill things, many would have one of two problems:
1)not having the amount of time to play the dungeon and a bit of the rest of the game. Not everyone has enough time to spare 2h to just clear 1 path of arah
2)people get bored easily. even with increased rewards unless you risk the killing initial mobs and reset dungeons the rewards won’t make for the boring fight of killing a overly hp buffed silver mob

I’m writing those two just because of personal experience.
On launch after a week i had about equivalent of 4 days of gameplay. Now with work if i get time for a daily fractal run and clear the daily achieves i consider myself lucky.
Regarding killing silver mobs it’s insane the amount they take to get downed. Some aren’t that hard and you can just stand still attacking and watching the time fly by.

Obviously making rewards only at the end is a dumb idea. A noob group get to lupi and can’t make it further, leavers make the group split, (insert any other reason that makes you unable to clear the dungeon here) and you’re left with no reward and wasted time.

Regarding rewards/time ratio between paths.
The problem isn’t that some paths should have more/less reward depending on it’s difficulty. What it should have been from the start is that the paths should take about the same time to clear and they’re not well balanced causing such disparities. The paths it-selves need a fix not the rewards.

I agree with the time issue but you have the other dungeons to farm, if you want to do arah just need some planning to get the 2h of free time. It’s not a problem of design it’s a personal problem like many of us have.

I disagree with the reward system you suggest, a noob group shouldn’t be able to finish the dungeon, if you change that…where is the challenge? And the exclusiveness of that set? Hard parts of any game are for skilled/experienced players.

Setting mid dungeons rewards is pointless too, not finishing the dungeon = no reward, why you deserve rewards for not finishing it? For the time spent? If people can’t do a path just don’t do it or think about how to complete it.

Unbalanced paths, i don’t see the problem here, different paths should be different ^^, that doesn’t mean you must be rewarded better for acomplish the hardest one, Dungeon Master tittle is enough reward, at least for me.

Missed the topic xD. Killing bosses and champions has a reward, aren’t items but are a good amount of silver so kill them all and get rich!

Necro can stack the most conditions by default, but it’s not the best condition profession. It lacks access to the hardest hitting condition of all, burning. I also don’t recall Necros being able to apply confusion.

I disagree slightly with Strifey’s tiers, but there /are/ tiers of effectiveness both in pve and pvp. Necro usually falls pretty low down the list sadly, as do Ranger and Engineer. Until the balances and bug fixes are completely ironed out (which could take years to finalize) there will always be the profession/build that outshines the others.

Just tell us what prof does more cond dmg, more types of conditions(7/11), aoe and can spread them!. Burning hit’s like 6-8 stacks of bleed and with nec you reach 25, bleeds are the highest cond dmg. What’s the point of confuse a mob for one tick? Anyway this is kind offtopic ^^, eles are so good!!!

Giving people the meaning of doing PvP in a PvE map isn’t a great idea, as i said that is part of the core design of GW2, any changes here will change the game completely to another thing. There is a lot of content to do at maps, just take a look at achivements and if you have them all just create another char and enjoy it in another way. People don’t come back to that areas because they want to farm/get gold/tokens…and that areas aren’t worthly as others. Making them worthly will break the economy.

This is not like gw1 when you want to have certains builds to mitigate the dificulty of some dungeons/maps clean, it’s more a matter of skill than build or a combination of them. What i mean is that an unskilled player with a good build it’s still an unskilled player wich will slow you down doing any content. In addition it’s so easy to have the better gear in the game so that may not be the problem.

IMO no inspection is needed.

It’s simple, they offer you a game, you can suggest some improvements but no try to change the core of it, if you don’t like it what’s the point of buying it? Don’t want to play WoW or whatever? Find some other game…

We will have GvG at guild halls when they develope them like in GW1.

We will have to wait long to have more weapons to choose, i prefer to have more skills per weapon and bind them to the number i want, gw1 i miss you!!! (only some things :P)

Lictor, you can’t really get a full opinion being lvl 50…eles are so good trust me.

Play with the traits/weapons/skills and find your way to play it, then get the right set for that way and you will love your ele.

T1: Guardian, Warrior, Mesmer
T2: Ele, Thief, not sure where to put Engi after Grenade nerf
T3: Necro, Ranger

There are no tiers…each class have their advantages and disadvantages, btw necro T3??? You don’t have one, don’t you?

Guardians, eles, warriors are good buffers, offensive or defensive, necro = best condition profession, ranger just have a lot of dmg (bows way), mesmers are versatile, i don’t know much about thiefs or engi but i figure thiefs = tons of dmg and engi = mixed dmg with some support.

Blocking shield issue is annoying…by the way we, me and my mates, are happy to get into this fractal.

Even at 40s, hardly anybody knows how to dodge. This isn’t because bad players got carried all the way up (not totally), it’s because everybody avoids this frak like the plague so they never learn how to do it or what to watch for.

A lot of people that shouldn´t get that high are at that levels, you know that, ranged people usually…

Maybe they can set a small chance to get nice skins or keys from silver mobs like in Urgoz at GW1 you have a small chance to get zodiacs weapons. I think we already have that chance but it’s so little, i run 6-8 paths of differents dungeons every day and get 1 exotic if lucky and usually with white skins.

That said, people don’t know math, they just see big numbers and assume that means big DPS.

Well, i never see my guardian doing 3-4k dmg with auto-attack, neither 20k with whirling. Guardians are so versatile and the best support in gw2 but in terms of pure dps warriors are the best, not just because that big numbers, they can maintain 25 might in a boss fight easily and 6charges+fury for all the party, thats tons of dmg. They have nice hp pool and not bad armor, they are killing machines.

5 guardians sounds OP but 1 guardian 3 warriors and 1 mesmer is a better party, you need some variety

A guardian actually kills the gate controller faster than a warrior since the warrior’s big damage skills don’t work too well on it.

HB, 3 autoattacks, whirling = bb mister gate controler.
What warrior’s skills don’t work well on objects? With 3k+ attack you just destroy everything.

Guardian f2 heals for 1775 with 200 from valor line. Your numbers are a bit off. With healing gear I guess you have about 1200 healing power which makes virtue of resolve heal for 2525. Basically, virtue of resolve has 0.75 multiplier and vigorous shouts 0.8.

I really don’t understand this type of posts, Trelonist said some good points but others my friend…

- Do you even know that most people finish the dungeons by SKIPPING parts of it?

Why is this a problem? People can’t speed run? I never skip parts because of drop and that 3mins more isn’t a problem.

- What about the rediculous amount of health on a boss mob? At some point it is just a boring 5min fight.

5 mins fighting a boss and you bored? Did you play Lineage II? Except of CoE boss healths are fine.

- What is wrong with the weird event to unlock CoF??! It’s locked all the time! I actually lose group members because they don’t care to wait for 30min for the kitten event to start. Then we finally get inside, have a run and decide to go again – but the kitten dungeon shut down again while we were inside!!!

You can start the event and it isn’t 30mins long…

- Why is there no dungeon-LFG tool? There is not even a global chat? How am I supposed to find another group member, if one leaves mid-way?!

Keep going PUG and find some friends so you can always go with 5 “good” people. One of the party members go outside the dungeon and search for one more…

Dungeons are mostly easy, 15-20 mins runs can’t be boring and you can do 1 path and then go to another dungeon so you can avoid that feeling. I know that some dungeons are so tedious but it’s good to have this long ones.
Bosses with low health? What game has that? What’s the point of low health bosses? Do you want a boss that can be 100b one-shooted by 5 warriors? Or just 1 min bosses?

To all dungeons cryers(no offense, plz), you have all the tools to make them easy. Same boss behaviours, evades, utility skills, eyes, hands, brain. You have to move and stay alert, you can’t just stand and shoot with your ranged weapon meanwhile an ubertank takes all the aggro.

We always do it with guardian, 2x warriors, ele and mesmer killing all the mobs, 10mins run. Anyway i think the best setup would be:
Guardian healer, enoughts heals and boons to maintain the warriors hitting without evade nothing
3x warriors, full berserker GS
Mesmer, full berserker SW

Also healing gear is crap. Go P/V/T and make yourself useful.

If you go p/v/t you do the same dmg as with p/t/h so go healing and provide your party heals and buffs instead of doing nothing, neither dmg neither support.

Healing gear isn’t crap…2k heals with every shout with warrior, as with f2 guardian and ele combos is perfect. With a guardian and ele full healing you have 3 spots for glass cannon guys. Mele all pulls and bosses, simply rush all the dungeon killing everything.

My “perfect” setup for almost all dungeons is, guardian and ele support + warrior GS + 2random.

Good guide for newbies who cry because dungeons are so difficult.

Pure of voice + Hold the line

Hi,

While using “hold the line” with the trait “pure of voice” it doesn’t cure a condition and doesn’t make you get the opposite buff. Pure of voice seems to work with the other shouts. This bug has been reported long ago, will you do something about it? It’s really upset when your life depends on that trait and fail…

After some testing i realize that MF seems to be a negative stat. The more mf you have the less items you get in dungeons and PvE. It’s lame that playing with friends with 0% they get better and more drop than me with 100%. Anet must review mf maybe isn’t working well as other things in this game.

The drop rate is ridiculous, true but…it’s suppose to be difficult to get legendary items. If you get 1-2 lodestone per run and 30minutes per run…simply op.
