How is this not fixed?? The game has been out for so long and it’s such a noticeable bug.
I don’t get it!

Hey, I don’t know if this is an engineer only issue but I highly doubt it.
Have you noticed that when you’re wielding a P/S with your weapons drawn as an engineer (quite possibly any other shield profession) if you run forward and stop the shield goes kinda crazy and"jumps" from the fluidness of the animation to the original postion? This also happens with a number of other animations while using a Shield.

Recently I also noticed that when you walk to the right using a grenade or bomb kit the it also moves on it’s own to it’s original position, although not as ridiculous as the shield.

This has been in the game since launch and after coming back it’s REALLY annoying me…

Go warrior or mesmer and stop playing inferior classes.

Imho, it’s better to play inferior class which is fun for you, than become an inferior player which is bored to death, just sayin’….

While what you said is a noble ideal indeed.

After playing mmorpgs for so long – I have learned each game has certain classes which it favors from start to end.

It’s obvious which classes anet has chosen.

The end result for a ton of player’s is why work twice has hard for less results.

Cause it feels more staisfying being successful with an inferior profession wich you enjoy the most? It’s not like mmorpg are ladders to be climbed

Warrior although fun feels blunt, and I’m not a Fotm reroller, nor do i enjoy playing with a “winning profession”, it feels like the character is winning and not the player. Plus there are more warriors then rangers and engineers combined.
Don’t warriors feel bad that there are so many like them? And most people are just playing them cause they are unbalancedly powerful? sigh

Mesmer is cool and i played one for a while but it’s not really my thing… and I don’t see how they are superior in dungeon environment or damage-wise.

Nice answers so far.
I do know most ppl will be biased towards their mains but what I want is more like a number comparison.
As it stands it also seems that there are quite a lot of rangers and most are playing their class narrow-mindedly, wich imo may make other players question themselves wether they want a ranger or not in their dung…

Hey,
I came back to GW2 and I find myself stuck between 2 professions and I wasn’t able to find a recent comparison. The classes being of course ranger and engineer.

I’d like sort of a pros/ cons for each one plzz ^^

As I stand, I’m leaning more towards engineer for the complexity. I’ve tested both profs with high dps builds (S/W ranger and nades/bombs engi) and both seemed great, the ranger feeling a lot less complex and a little behind on engineer in sustained damage.

If you want to know I’m more concerned with dungeons/ pve

Thank you in advance)

But I wonder about the ranger’s Trap build, isn’t it overall good?

Well I’m not sure this is the best place to ask for this, but what I want to know is what profession should I take without a big risk of regreting this decision later…
I am enjoying for the most part Ranger, but the community seems a lil unpleased, and I worry that I may regret it…

I’m also interested on a Necro and Engineer, so I would want you guys to tell me the pros and cons of this 3 professions from your “ranger perspective”…
Also, it’s not very important to me but if you can rank them on PvE damage just so that i get a picture of it, since i already pvp’ed with them… Thank youu!

D/D Ele.
You can 1v1 anyone, you can 1v3 pretty consistantly too. And if/when you DO decide to support a group you have that as well.

Con: Has a learning curve. Once you learn how to play it though it is easily the single most powerful warrior on the field in every capacity.

Well I have that I’ve delved into that ele build today and I actually find it very fun to play and I totally get what you say about the learning curve… I think I’ll give a try now, but I want to hear more opinions. Thanks!!

So I know that some people might say: pick wichever you feel it bests suits you. And based on what I’ve tried by playing all classes, I can’t decide wich of the following three I should make:
.Engineer
.Elementalist
.Necromancer

What I want to know is wich of this 3 is most successful in a less-supportive role, like, wich of them are better at actually killing players in PvP. I know they are not top tier in that, we have the mesmers and thieves there, but I don’t like to play professions considered to be “op-like”. I like to play a more average tier class that when played well can compete with the more faceroll ones.

I hope that I made myself clear and you can easily tell me wich of this professions are better suited for me
