Hey guys, just wondering if you could give me some advice on some PvP. Currently i am playing as support/bunker guardian, i can be effective in group fights and small skirmishes. But i am very unaware on how to rota in and out with the team, for example when to move out and where to stay depending on the positioning of the team. I can understand as a support i would want to be in most of the team fights but apart from that i sometimes become clueless where to go afterwards.

The nerfs generally makes no since above all. Some argue that the nerf in damage was necessary but what prospective are you saying in as. If you’re speaking in terms of Meta builds then that would be some what understandable. But for those who does not run/use Meta see it as a potential nerf. Others views such as Necromancer in Team Play and Individual play also have different views. Personally i think in Team Play it may not effect them as much in terms of damage (assuming that they run Meta build) and survival as they play in Teams your weakness is compensated with your Team Players. As a individual player there are a lot of nerfs that maybe consider (If not using Meta). As most of the nerf are felt necessary because of Meta builds. Which then make non-meta suffer along with Meta which seems to be the problem on top other classes getting improved condition removal just seems to bog down the condition overall.

But if you look at the necromancer as a whole it is a potential nerf that we received. Anet just buffed something that necromancer was good at to begin with then nerfing it down if not worse (some may say) which just left necromancer where we left of whilst other classes are getting different nerfs/buffs.

Ya i agree with you DS feels like its taking more damage again. And have they changed Spectral Wall ? because it doesn’t say life force gain on tooltip anymore ?

Since SW was changed it hasn’t mentioned life force gain, so this isn’t new.

Since June 25 patch:

Spectral Wall: Normalized the amount of protection gained to 5 seconds for allies. Replaced the vulnerability with a 1-second fear when enemies try to cross the wall. Added 4% life force gain on hit. Increased the recharge to 45 seconds. Reduced the base duration to 5 seconds and 7.5 seconds while traited with Spectral Attunement.

After that patch i do not see any other patch saying life force gain is removed ? But i think the tooltip is just bugged

With the recent patches and changes towards necromancer, i have realized that Plague form is not a stun breaker with Fear ?

I do understand that you get stability but it seems like you do not break stun from Fear. Not sure if this is a change or a bug but when your necromancer is feared and you turn into Plague form it does not break the fear (i did not get my boon corrupted), and you are feared whilst having stability, for that duration.

I cannot remember if this was the same in the post patch
meaning that does Plague form break fear ?

In an addition does Plague form counts as a stun breaker ?

Where does corrupt boon stand now ? ever since the nerf from all boons to only 5 kinda made corrupt boon fall apart a bit.

Will Anet bring back the old Corrupt Boon ?

As everyone is aware from the leaked balance patch, necromancer maybe getting a very nice buff in some cases. But within the possible balance the one change in the patch has caught my attention which was the change in spectral wall. Now i do understand that there are many other changes that needs looking but this one caught my attention the most but as for now as the patch is not a official patch these changes may not occur.

Moving on from reading and understand from the “Leaked” patch the Spectral Wall is being changed into this:

Now already from reading that Spectral Wall has a 1s fear already sounds a bit overpowered, i can see people over using this ability. But some may argue that this balance is quite viable. I myself is a big fan of necromancer but this looks rather to good to be true but if Anet actually brings this on board i can see a big nerf coming up in the following patch afterwards.

I just want to share out my idea for Spectral Wall and want to know what people will think about it. So here is my idea, replace vulnerability with a 4s chill if a enemy crosses the wall. In an addition necromancer can choose to destroy the Spectral Wall (Similar to Mesmer’s Temporal Curtain) to destroy the Wall to gain the 1s fear. Now this way, necromancer can debate to keep the wall to have the Protection/Chill or to cast a 1s Fear.

So what do you lot think ?

(Sorry if this sounds PvP orientated as i do not play PvE as much so i would understand this being useless in PvE.)

New Patch Bugged Staff Mastery

Can i also point out that along with Staff Mastery bug, there is also another bug which they haven’t fixed is the DS bug. As many of player maybe unaware of the bug but when entering DS and coming out of DS. There is a small 1-2 seconds delay before any of the utilities show up. Now this small incident only occurs when all your life force is drained out. Apart from that when switching DS off/on with a some amount of life force then it is fine, the utilities show up instantly without any problem.

From this test find out if the bug occurs to you to. It is not as major as the trait’s bugs but still is in my concern which effects me. So i wish for you to try out the DS bug and see if you applies to you to ?

New Patch Bugged Staff Mastery

This is like my first post here, I decided to post this after the patch because of how annoyed it made me >__>.

If you use Staff Mastery and Greater Marks then Putrid Marks, Mark of Blood and Reaper’s Mark is NOT effected by the 20% cool down reduction.

But if you use Staff Mastery without the Greater Marks trait then it works….. I don’t know if this was intended for the patch or not…. I really hope not T_T

If you use Staff mastery and Greater Marks, then the 20% cool down reduction doesn’t work. The traits collides xD if you have just Staff mastery it works tho but with Greater Marks that when the bug occur.

I think its the same as their “unintentional” removal of DS weapon swap (that i still want back), since it happens on getting knocked out of not on exit of DS.

I agree with you, the ability to switch weapon during DS was good now that they taken it off seems rather odd.

When entering DS and then coming out of DS there seems to be a delay of 1-4sec of delay before any of your utilities show up which between the spaces of that delay I cannot cast any of the abilities. Now i don’t know if Anet meant to do this, but i believe its a bug or i am i coming out of DS too fast ?

I know exactly what bug you’re talking about, and I’ve got it on the list, but I can never get it to occur consistently on my character. Also, are you serious about a 4 second delay because that’s a really long time compared to any observations I’ve made on this.

The 1 – 4 second was a bit exaggeration but around 1 or 2 seconds of delay, i think it only happen during combat. Which during that 1 – 2 seconds you can’t seem to do anything ?

From the tournament here are some of the teams that made it past the first elimination round

There isn’t much to say. Necromancers have no place in tpvp right now. I have almost 700 hours on my Necro pvp and pve and quite frankly, i’m shelving her and playing Guardian until we get some much needed attention. Playing other classes has made me realize how useless some of our traits and utilities really are. Reanimator (useless), Spiteful Vigor (should give vigor not retal), Target the Weak (useless in curses tree), Dark Armor (useless), Quickening Thirst(who uses this?), Deathly Invigoration (weak), and all siphon skills need to be looked at.

Unfortunately we’re just average at every role. mediocre bunker, mediocre burst, mediocre healing, flat out bad roamers, and mediocre conditions because its almost all bleed damage.

Hello and welcome to this forum, and i know that i shouldn’t really be doing this on forums but i seen some threads showing their necromancer pvp video. Which from this i also wanted try this out , i wanted to show that necromancer are still vital with all downside feedback about AI, fear and utility being not efficient i still feel that necro have a place in PvP. And want to show that necromancer aren’t as bad as what people make them sound.

I am unsure to, but i am also having the same problem as you. When i also enter a PvP game my armor color remains the same. I cannot tell if i am Red or Blue, unless i look at the scoreboard. I had a feeling that it may have of been a new setting that Areanet have placed in the “options” menu but had no luck. So i believe its a bug that happened after the previous patch.
