It’s a sorting system
So it’s a stunbreak that can be interrupted? That seems a bit…counter-intuitive.
Has anyone had this well be interrupted and get put on full cd?
Or just add an option for alternate tooltips that give more detailed explanations of what skills do.
At about 7:43, Jebro uses the Mallyx heal, and when he switches stances, Jalis’ heal is off cooldown. Is there any news as to whether or not this is intended?
Or we could just have an indicator that the rune is off cooldown? Like doom sigil or intelligence sigil or leeching sigil…
Masterful Distortion still works with reflecting LB 2. Also, Fay, iWarden has been pretty reliable for me thus far. Idk if I’m just getting lucky or if you’re unlucky :/
Can someone confirm that the staff port from ramp to window on center doesn’t work anymore?
Considering it has already been mentioned a few times, I was curious what people’s specific thoughts are about this fix. The general sense that I have gotten from the forums is positive, but does anyone think that this needs to be looked at (especially with regards to staff clones)?
Just read this topic:
Mbelch’s original point was that the nerfs to elementalist abilities that the topic starter asked for are highly flawed. Basically, celestial and might stacks are the main problems. Not drakes breath or lightning whip. How many eles even know about the lightning whip exploit? You can’t say all of them do it. But nearly every D/D celestial ele gets called OP in sPvP dueling servers. Also, eles who use zerker amulet still aren’t influential outside of team fights and PvE. They deal slightly higher damage than a might stacking celestial ele but have about a third of the sustain.
Nerfing the class’s skills doesn’t solve the problem. If the class is only OP with celestial amulet then it is obviously celestial that needs to be looked at. yet even this is hardly the case because almost every class except thief has a might stacking celestial build that’s extremely overpowered.
…
Additionally, what makes you think the number of tpvp games played by somebody reflects how well they know the class? Mbelch is a well known and skilled dueler who has played ele through the dark ages of it and petitioned restlessly for changes for over a year before the call was answered in the april balance patch. While everyone here knows it’s slightly over-the-top right now, the nerfs some of you people are calling for are completely moronic.
I won’t contest that Mbelch is a veteran, knowledgeable, skilled player, but Phantaram is as well. I don’t say that only because he streams, but because he too played elementalist during the time that they may as well have started out in downed-state. So, although I don’t play elementalist very often, I don’t feel it is wise to discount his suggestions; maybe some of the skills he pointed out do need to be looked at.
That having been said, I will agree that it seems as though might stacking and strength runes/hoelbrak runes are the principal culprit. As a mesmer main, it’s very easy to tell the difference when I miss my boon stripping and when I don’t X_X
A question though: What other classes/builds were you hinting at when you said “almost every class except thief has a might stacking celestial build that’s extremely overpowered”? The only ones that come to mind are elementalist, warrior, and power necro. I won’t dispute that engineers CAN stack might with battle sigils, however most of the engineers that I play against are running doom and geomancy, something that feels more effective to me.
No.
Condition application for mesmers is already in a pretty good spot, whether or not the mesmer chooses to run scepter. Scepter already has two relatively strong applications of condition damage from skills 2 and 3, and I don’t believe this is needed to “establish itself as a condition weapon”. It will contribute to the trend of power creep that we’ve seen over the past 2 years due to ArenaNet’s balancing decisions. While I do see the staff clone IE fix as a good thing, people need to realize that this “fix” will improve mesmers that run staff by a ridiculous amount (never mind the fury and might stacking, the conditions that staff clones can apply is very strong). This buff, in addition to the staff fix, will push condition mesmers over the top.

Another thing you might consider adding is pinging abilities. I know you can already auto-chat an ability by Control + Clicking it, but I think it would be nice if you added some kind of timer functionality to it as well. Like, if the skill is off cool down, you could append a “Ready!” to it. Or if it’s on cool down, maybe a timer on how much longer until the skill comes off cool down?
I think you underestimate the buff to scepter. It’s going to apply torment on AAs. The AAs will generate clones that will stack even more torment. Right now, I need to disengage if I get 5 stacks and one or two other conditions put on me. Can you imagine what your condi bar will look like post patch if that mesmer change goes through?
Whatever your thoughts are on Helseth’s persona, I believe he accurately describes the future of this mesmer change:

Mesmers already contribute to zergs hugely, even if it’s not through damage output. I don’t think I’ve ever run with a commander who doesn’t want a veil to disguise the route he is going to take, nor the boon strip on null field, nor the projectile reflection on feedback. Just because you can’t tag everything in sight doesn’t mean that mesmer is not a profession that is helpful to a zerg.
While I’d love better quality matches, please don’t make the queue times too much longer.
I don’t understand why people think that PU mesmer is useless in sPvP.
Yes, with their reliance on stealth, they can’t keep a point contested for a long time. But, provided it is a mid node fight, they only need to keep it contested for long enough for the primary bunker (if there is one) to relieve his/her own pressure and then get back on point. Not to mention the weakness from Debilitating Dissipation significantly reduces the DPS of on node fighters.
And if assaulting far point, the onus of keeping the point capped isn’t on the mesmer, but on the defender, who is often forced to melee the clones, and eats conditions as the conditions from killing clones are neither dodgeable nor blockable.
I was 1v1ing a necromancer at home, and he finished his daily (I’m assuming it was Condition Removal or something), letting him level up in the middle of our fight. This instantly healed him from almost no health to full health. Please get rid of this in sPvP like you did in WvW. Thanks.
I’m not sure if this is an old bug or not, but Sword Training (Dueling IV) doesn’t seem to lower the CD on iLeap for me. Is this a known issue?

Halting strike somehow manages to proc a ton of times in less than a second, instagibbing an elementalist. Does anyone have an explanation for how this happened? Pretty sure it’s a bug, but I haven’t been able to replicate it.
Does anyone have any suggestions on beating, or even just surviving, against a pistol whip thief? I can’t seem to stay ahead of them for long enough with the numerous gap closers they have, and I can’t burst them down due to the perma-evade (I play a shatter mesmer).
With regards to WvW and PvP, I’ve been experimenting with using staff as a semi-offensive weapon. I picked a trick from Lord Helseth (who can do it infinitely better than myself) whereupon I bind a key to “About Face”, and phase retreat INTO an enemy to shatter.
This doesn’t work if you have a relatively slow internet, but in a time where any half-decent player can dodge shatters from clones, it offers a bit quicker damage, which is more difficult to respond to.
